18 September 2016 - True Humility that Attracts God's Grace - Rev. Col Stringer Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlineProverbs 13:10 - Strife, contention and trouble are the only things that comes from being proud. “By pride comes nothing but strife, But with the well-advised is wisdom.” (Proverbs 13:10 NKJV) John 15:5 - Without Jesus we cannot do anything, but with Him we can do all things! ““I am the vine, you are the branches. He was who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5 NKJV) I Peter 5:5-7 - Humility does not mean to grovel in the dirt. True humility is just total dependence on God, and not thinking higher of yourself than you ought to - think in line with what God's word says about you! “Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” (I Peter 5:5-7 NKJV) Galatians 5:16-21 - The kingdom of God operates by humility not by pride. “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” (Galatians 5:16-21 NKJV)
