19 September 2021 - Triumph Over Difficult Seasons - New Creation Church Sermon Notes - Pastor Lawrence LimNew Sermon Notes: Pastor Lawrence Lim taught us three important keys that help us to triumph over difficult seasons in life. No matter how dark the night may seem, dawn is coming, and your breakthrough is on the way! Praise and Worship Song Performed: 1. Open My Eyes, That I May See - Clara H. Scott 2. As He Is So Are We - New Creation Worship 3. Only You - New Creation Worship Matthew 8:1-4 - One touch from God and your life will never be the same again. Our God is a healing God. He is our great physician—Yahweh Rapha. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. His will is always to heal. Leprosy was a dreaded disease. Jesus did not just heal the leper of the disease—He also healed the man’s emotions. It must have been a long time since the leper felt any human touch. Lepers were outcasts who were forbidden to come close to anyone who was not infected. “When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean.” Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be made clean.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Jesus said to him, “See that you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”” (Matthew 8:1-4 WEB) Matthew 18:20 - Jesus is here to meet you at the point of your need. He has the power to heal you and make you whole. “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them.”” (Matthew 18:20 WEB) We will inevitably go through difficult seasons, “the evil day”, in our lives. We can triumph over difficult seasons. You cannot pray for God to ‘take you home’ when it is God’s will for you to live. Romans 10:11 - Hold on to this verse in difficult seasons. “For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.”” (Romans 10:11 WEB) Hebrews 6:12 - There are moments where our faith is challenged. This is the time to have patience. Never give up. Before the dawn, the night is dark. Your miracle is coming. “that you won’t be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and perseverance inherited the promises.” (Hebrews 6:12 WEB) Mark 4:5-17 - In Jesus’ parable of the sower, the seeds that were sown on stony ground could only endure for a short time. The devil’s plan is to steal God’s word from your heart because he knows that God’s word will blossom and bear fruit. When you start to hear and believe God’s word for a certain area in your life, you may face counterattacks which are the devil’s plan to steal that word from your heart. What do you do when such persecutions arise for the word’s sake? Never give up. Keep believing in it and be patient. “The ones by the road are the ones where the word is sown; and when they have heard, immediately Satan comes, and takes away the word which has been sown in them. These in the same way are those who are sown on the rocky places, who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with joy. They have no root in themselves, but are short-lived. When oppression or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they stumble.” (Mark 4:15-17 WEB) John 10:10 - Jesus loves you. He will give you life so that you can have it abundantly. “The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” (John 10:10-11 WEB) God is not a respecter of persons. If He can heal someone, He can heal you too.

4 July 2021 - Know the Father’s Love - New Creation Church Sermon Notes - Pastor Lawrence Lim Sermon NotesPastor Lawrence Lim unveiled a good God to us, showing the lavish love of the Father whom we can call “Abba”. When you know the love of Abba God, you will experience His protection, provision, healing, and receive the help and breakthroughs that you need! Praise and Worship Songs Performed: 1. Beautiful Savior - Henry Seeley 2. Stronger - New Creation Worship 3. There is None Like You - Lenny LeBlanc Mark 5:25-33 - The woman was unfruitful for twelve years and she tried her best in natural means to fix her problem. She was in a helpless and hopeless situation. The woman heard about Jesus. What she heard about Jesus gripped her heart and caused her to have hope. She must have heard good things about Jesus, about how He was going around healing people. When she heard about Him, faith arose in her heart. Many people there touched Jesus but did not get healed. The woman was healed after touching Him because she had faith to be healed. Now is the time of salvation. Today is a great today for your miracle. God is willing to heal you. Faith in Jesus caused Him (the omnipotent God) to stop in His tracks. Reach out and touch Jesus—you will receive your miracle. The woman feared and trembled from experiencing God’s goodness. She was in awe of the miracle. “A certain woman, who had an issue of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things by many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better, but rather grew worse, having heard the things concerning Jesus, came up behind him in the crowd, and touched his clothes. For she said, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be made well.” Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction. Immediately Jesus, perceiving in himself that the power had gone out from him, turned around in the crowd, and asked, “Who touched my clothes?” His disciples said to him, “You see the multitude pressing against you, and you say, ‘Who touched me?’” He looked around to see her who had done this thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.” (Mark 5:25-33 WEB) Romans 8:32 - If God delivered up Jesus for your sake, He will not withhold lesser things like healing and provision from you. “He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32 WEB) John 10:11 - Our God is a good God. The devil is a bad devil. The lines are clear. All the bad things that happened to you are from the devil, not from God. God is always good to you. “The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” (John 10:10-11 WEB) Romans 2:4 - Today we “fear and tremble” from experiencing God’s goodness and being in awe of it—not a slavish fear of His punishment. “Or do you despise the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?” (Romans 2:4 WEB) Jeremiah 33:9 - When people see the goodness of God, they will fear and tremble. “This city shall be to me for a name of joy, for a praise and for a glory, before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do to them, and shall fear and tremble for all the good and for all the peace that I procure to it.’”” (Jeremiah 33:9 WEB) 23 May 2021 - Five Sure Promises of God - New Creation Church Sermon Notes (Pastor Lawrence Lim)23/5/2021 23 May 2021 - Five Sure Promises of God - New Creation Church Sermon Notes (Pastor Lawrence Lim)Pastor Lawrence Lim shared five “surely” statements from the Bible to ignite a confident expectation of good things to come in our lives. God has promised to “surely” deliver, heal, bless, and be good to you. Jesus will also surely come back to receive us to Heaven. Praise and Worship Songs Performed: 1. Raise a Hallelujah - Elevation Worship 2. Supply - New Creation Worship 3. Letting Go - New Creation Worship Psalm 118:1 - For every fresh failure, there is also fresh grace available for you. “Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.” (Psalms 118:1 WEB) Matthew 24:7-8 - There will be famines, plagues, and great earthquakes in the end times. “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places. But all these things are the beginning of birth pains.” (Matthew 24:7-8 WEB) Isaiah 60:2 -When there is thick darkness on earth, it is the time for the church of Jesus Christ to shine. ““Arise, shine; for your light has come, and Yahweh’s glory has risen on you. For, behold, darkness will cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but Yahweh will arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you.” (Isaiah 60:1-2 WEB) Matthew 5:14-16 - This is the time for the church to do good and be a blessing. New Creation Church is partnering with Christian charities and organizations in India to help those who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. “You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden. Neither do you light a lamp, and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16 WEB) Despite the bad news all around, Christianity is good news. God is only good and not evil. John 10:10 - The goodness of God cannot be exaggerated, but it can be undermined. God is good and the devil is evil. It is clear with no gray areas. “The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.” (John 10:10 WEB) 18 April 2021 - Persevere in Prayer - New Creation Church Sermon Notes - Pastor Lawrence Lim Sermon Notes
Pastor Lawrence Lim shared how we often receive not because we ask not. This sermon is a good reminder for us all to pray at all times and to ask for great things when we pray. God wants us to reign in life through His grace abounding towards us. If you considered giving up on praying, this message is an encouragement for you to continue in prayer until you see the breakthrough! Praise and Worship Songs Performed:
No matter what darkness you are facing, the light of God’s word will give you wisdom. Luke 12:32 - Abound in hope and always expect good things from God. “Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.” (Luke 12:32 WEB) Pastor Lawrence shared a testimony about a couple who divorced, but they recently remarried. It is the power of the Gospel of Grace. Psalm 136:1 - Our God is a good God. “Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good; for his loving kindness endures forever.” (Psalms 136:1 WEB) Grace causes one to live a life that glorifies God. Hebrews 11:1 - Bible hope is to have a confident expectation of good things to come. “Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1 WEB) 2 Corinthians 1:20 - All promises of God are yes and amen for us. “For however many are the promises of God, in him is the “Yes.” Therefore also through him is the “Amen”, to the glory of God through us.” (2 Corinthians 1:20 WEB) Joel 3:10 - Our God is the God of all comfort and He strengthens those who are weak. His grace is more than enough for us. “Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’” (Joel 3:10 WEB) Mark 9:28-29 - In the original Greek, the word “fasting” is not there. Jesus is emphasizing the power of prayer. “When he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?” He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing, except by prayer and fasting.”” (Mark 9:28-29 WEB) Matthew 21:13-14 - Believers are the house of God today. When we are a house of prayer, amazing miraculous breakthroughs will happen. “He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers!” The blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them.” (Matthew 21:13-14 WEB) Luke 11:9-13 - Jesus made prayer so simple: ask and you shall receive. The Lord is encouraging us to ask of Him, knowing that He will open doors for us. Don’t make prayer so complicated—do not worry if you are doing it right or not. ““I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he won’t give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? Or if he asks for an egg, he won’t give him a scorpion, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”” (Luke 11:9-13 WEB) Luke 18:1-8 - Be bold to ask God for great things. You receive not because you ask not. “He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up, saying, “There was a judge in a certain city who didn’t fear God, and didn’t respect man. A widow was in that city, and she often came to him, saying, ‘Defend me from my adversary!’ He wouldn’t for a while, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God, nor respect man, yet because this widow bothers me, I will defend her, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.’” The Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says. Won’t God avenge his chosen ones, who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them? I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”” (Luke 18:1-8 WEB) Luke 1:37 - Faith is the substance of things hoped for. It is only through abounding in hope that faith is activated. “For nothing spoken by God is impossible.”” (Luke 1:37 WEB) Pastor Lawrence shared a testimony of a couple who managed to have a baby girl after seven years of waiting upon the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:57 - No matter what you are going through, we receive the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:57 WEB) Acts 12:1-10 - The church faced a crisis. James was killed, but when Peter was arrested, constant prayer was made for him. When the church prayed for Peter, an angel was sent to rescue Peter out of the prison. Do not give up on prayer--your time is coming. “Now about that time, King Herod stretched out his hands to oppress some of the assembly. He killed James, the brother of John, with the sword. When he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. This was during the days of unleavened bread. When he had arrested him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four squads of four soldiers each to guard him, intending to bring him out to the people after the Passover. Peter therefore was kept in the prison, but constant prayer was made by the assembly to God for him. The same night when Herod was about to bring him out, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains. Guards in front of the door kept the prison. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side, and woke him up, saying, “Stand up quickly!” His chains fell off from his hands. The angel said to him, “Get dressed and put on your sandals.” He did so. He said to him, “Put on your cloak, and follow me.” And he went out and followed him. He didn’t know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he saw a vision. When they were past the first and the second guard, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, which opened to them by itself. They went out, and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.” (Acts 12:1-10 WEB) 14 March 2021 - Why We Can Always Rejoice - New Creation Church Sermon Notes - Pastor Lawrence Lim Sermon NotesPastor Lawrence Lim reminded us that regardless of our outward circumstances, we can always rejoice in the Lord. When we know that God loves us and that all our sins have been forgiven, we will rejoice! Praise and Worship Songs Performed: 1. Who You Say I Am - Hillsong Music 2. Supply - New Creation Worship Romans 10:14-15 - The New Testament is about good news for believers. Good news lights a hope in your heart. “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher? And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Good News of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!”” (Romans 10:14-15 WEB) John 10:10-11 - God is always good and the devil is always bad. Jesus laid down His life so that we can truly enjoy life. “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd risks and lays down His [own] life for the sheep. [Ps. 23.]” (John 10:10-11 AMPC) Return evil with good, not evil for evil. Matthew 7:11 - God gives good gifts to you when you ask for them. “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him.” (Matthew 7:11 WEB) Philippians 4:4 - In the midst of having chains around his limbs and being in prison, the apostle Paul wrote to rejoice in the Lord always. Our joy is not found in outward circumstances—it is found in the Lord. The epistle to the Philippians is Paul’s “ode to joy”. “Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, “Rejoice!”” (Philippians 4:4 WEB) Acts 16:25 - Paul and Silas were beaten with rods and thrown into an inner prison. Yet, the two of them were praying and singing hymns to God at midnight. Midnight speaks of the darkest moments of our lives. There is something to rejoice about now. Your circumstances may not be good, but your God is good. Stop looking to your circumstances to decide if you should rejoice or not. When we praise our good Father, He will turn around the situation for our good. “But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.” (Acts 16:25 WEB) Philippians 3:13-14 - Forget the bad things that you have experienced. Close the chapter to your past hurts and let them go. “Brothers, I don’t regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13-14 WEB) Philippians 2:14 - Let’s not live life complaining. Start giving thanks for the blessings that you do have. Start giving thanks for the good things you see in your spouse. “Do all things without murmurings and disputes,” (Philippians 2:14 WEB) 24 January 2021 - Have a Vision of our Good God - Pastor Lawrence Lim Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPastor Lawrence Lim showed us who God is from the Scriptures, that He is absolutely good. God wants you to prosper in all things and be healthy. God heals and provides for all your needs. It is crucial for us to have a right vision of God. When the world sees God's great goodness manifested in our lives, they will be in awe of Him! Praise and Worship songs performed: 1. Give Me This Mountain - New Creation Worship 2. As He is So Are We - New Creation Worship 3. Living Hope - Bethel Music Matthew 7:11 - Every good gift is from God in Heaven. All we need is to ask our Father, and expect to receive from Him. “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:11 WEB) Luke 12:32 - Boldly ask for everything that you need. It is Abba God’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. He will provide for every need. “Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.” (Luke 12:32 WEB) The Bible kind of hope is a confident expectation of good things to come. Let your hope arise. Today is a good day for your miracle and breakthrough. Psalm 118:1 - God is absolutely good. “Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.” (Psalms 118:1 WEB) John 10:10 - Our perspective of God has to be in accordance with Jesus Christ and who He is. “The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.” (John 10:10 WEB) Ephesians 1:17 - God wants us to know Him. “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;” (Ephesians 1:17 WEB) 2 Peter 1:2 - We receive experience multiplied grace and peace when we know God and Jesus Christ. We have to have a vision of who God really is. “Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,” (2 Peter 1:2 WEB) 1 Timothy 1:17 - God is invisible to our natural eyes. “Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.” (1 Timothy 1:17 WEB) Hebrews 11:27 - We must see God with the eyes of our heart (spiritual eyes). “By faith, he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.” (Hebrews 11:27 WEB) John 1:18 - No one has seen God the Father at any time. “No one has seen God at any time. The one and only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him.” (John 1:18 WEB) Colossians 1:15 - We see the invisible God by looking at Jesus. Jesus is the exact representation of Abba God. God is a good God, and He is always good. “who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.” (Colossians 1:15 WEB) 29 November 2020 - How to Live Holy Under Grace - New Creation Church Sermon Notes - Pastor Lawrence LimPastor Lawrence Lim taught us how to live in true holiness through Grace which produces heart transformation and not just behavior modification through the works of the Law. If you want to live above sin and reign in life, this is a great sermon to meditate on. Praise and Worship songs performed: 1. Give Me This Mountain - New Creation Worship 2. Blessed Assurance - Fanny Crosby and Phoebe Knapp 3. Shout to the Lord - Darlene Zschech 4. O Come O Come Emmanuel - John Mason Neale Matthew 7:11 - We have a good Heavenly Father who gives us good gifts. “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:11 WEB) 1 Corinthians 15:3 - The forgiveness of our sins is the greatest blessing we have received. You have been delivered from the penalty of sin. “For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,” (1 Corinthians 15:3 WEB) Ephesians 1:7 - “According”, not just “out of”—God has forgiven us so graciously. “in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,” (Ephesians 1:7 WEB) Romans 1:16-17 - Gospel means “good news”. We need to pay attention to the good news of Jesus Christ and not the bad news in the world. The Gospel doesn’t just save you from Hell—it also brings you protection, preservation and provision. It is when we receive and believe the Gospel that we experience the power of God for salvation. “For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, for it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes; for the Jew first, and also for the Greek. For in it is revealed God’s righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, “But the righteous shall live by faith.”” (Romans 1:16-17 WEB) Sin carries a penalty. The Bible says that the soul that sins must die. Our God is holy—He must judge sinful man for sins. This created universe is established upon justice and righteousness. Jesus took our sins upon Himself and was fully punished for them at the cross. God initiated this so that He would not have to punish us. Romans 4:5-8 - Our righteousness comes apart from works. It was received by faith. God shall not impute sin to you because He imputed it to Jesus. “But to him who doesn’t work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness. Even as David also pronounces blessing on the man to whom God counts righteousness apart from works, “Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whom the Lord will by no means charge with sin.”” (Romans 4:5-8 WEB) 1 Corinthians 1:30 - The grace of God upon our lives empowers us to live with moral excellence and character success. God wants us to live lives that glorify Him. Only the Gospel of Grace leads you to true holiness—transformation from the heart. Sin is never okay. Pastor Joseph Prince and New Creation Church believe in holiness and living lives that glorify God. “Because of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:” (1 Corinthians 1:30 WEB) If you want to know a trustworthiness of a ministry, look at its results. You can read all the testimonies shared on Pastor Prince’s website. A tree will be known by its fruits. Romans 6:14 - Have hope in your heart that your sinful habit will not remain. You are under Grace, so sin will not have dominion over you. “For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.” (Romans 6:14 WEB) 2 Peter 2:7-8 - Compare Abraham and Lot. Both were called righteous men, but Lot compromised. He lived in Sodom which was subsequently destroyed by God. Abraham cultivated a relationship with God. He built altars and tithed, but there is no record of Lot ever doing so. Lot was blessed. He had huge flocks and herds. Lot left Abraham—a picture of leaving the Gospel of righteousness by faith. Lot was tormented in his soul when he saw and heard all the lawless deeds done in Sodom, but he never left the city—he compromised. “and delivered righteous Lot, who was very distressed by the lustful life of the wicked (for that righteous man dwelling among them, was tormented in his righteous soul from day to day with seeing and hearing lawless deeds):” (2 Peter 2:7-8 WEB) 1 Peter 1:15-16 - We are all for holiness, but how can we be holy in our behavior? “but just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior; because it is written, “You shall be holy; for I am holy.”” (1 Peter 1:15-16 WEB) 1 Peter 1:13-14 - Rest your hope fully on the Grace of God. Doing that is to be obedient children. When you know and believe that you have been forgiven and that you have a new identity in Christ, you can live a holy life. “Therefore prepare your minds for action, be sober, and set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ— as children of obedience, not conforming yourselves according to your former lusts as in your ignorance,” (1 Peter 1:13-14 WEB) 25 October 2020 - Praise is your Strength to Silence your Enemies - New Creation Church Sermon Notes - Pastor Lawrence Lim Sermon NotesPastor Lawrence Lim preached a sermon that lifted up God's love and reminded us to inquire of the Lord in every situation. When we face insurmountable challenges, we can praise the Lord and see Him fight our battles for us! Praise and worship songs performed: 1. Give Me This Mountain - New Creation Worship 2. The Power of Your Presence 3. Gaze Upon the Cross - Michael Davis Let your faith arise and have strong hope—a confident expectation of good things to come. Today is a good day for your miracle! Our God is a good God. He is no respecter of persons. Just as He is good to other believer, so will He be good to you, child of God. Believe that 2020 is still going to be a year of breakthrough, miracles and victory for the children of God. 2 Chronicles 20:1-4 - King Jehoshaphat was facing an insurmountable multitude of enemies that could possibly annihilate his nation. It is okay to be fearful, but you must know what to do when you are feeling afraid. Jehoshaphat’s wise response was to seek the Lord. Don’t look at the mountains before you—look up and seek the Lord. You can ask Him for help no matter what situation you are facing. God is omnipotent (all-powerful). He is not just powerful, but He is also willing to help you. You are God’s beloved child, and your Abba God is always ready to help you. Jehoshaphat sought the Lord and God gave him a great victory against his enemies. “After this, the children of Moab, the children of Ammon, and with them some of the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle. Then some came who told Jehoshaphat, saying, “A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea from Syria. Behold, they are in Hazazon Tamar” (that is, En Gedi). Jehoshaphat was alarmed, and set himself to seek to Yahweh. He proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. Judah gathered themselves together to seek help from Yahweh. They came out of all the cities of Judah to seek Yahweh.” (2 Chronicles 20:1-4 WEB) 1 Chronicles 10:13-14 - Saul was the first king of Israel. The first indictment against him was that as a king, he did not inquire of the Lord. This is opposite to David, his successor. David always inquired of the Lord. “So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against Yahweh, because of Yahweh’s word, which he didn’t keep; and also because he asked counsel of one who had a familiar spirit, to inquire, and didn’t inquire of Yahweh. Therefore he killed him, and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse.” (1 Chronicles 10:13-14 WEB) 1 Samuel 23:1-5 - David inquired of the Lord and received specific instruction from the Lord to save Keilah. David heard the people opposing the Lord’s instruction and he inquired of the Lord again. Always inquire of the Lord, don’t listen to popular opinion of men. If you are not sure, it is okay to inquired of the Lord again. Every time you seek the Lord first before making a decision, you are being humble. You are relying on Him instead of in the flesh. As you keep seeking the Lord, the Holy Spirit will faithfully guide and help you in every situation of your life. “David was told, “Behold, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah, and are robbing the threshing floors.” Therefore David inquired of Yahweh, saying, “Shall I go and strike these Philistines?” Yahweh said to David, “Go strike the Philistines, and save Keilah.” David’s men said to him, “Behold, we are afraid here in Judah. How much more then if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?” Then David inquired of Yahweh yet again. Yahweh answered him, and said, “Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.” David and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistines, and brought away their livestock, and killed them with a great slaughter. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.” (1 Samuel 23:1-5 WEB) John 10:27 - If you are Jesus’ sheep, you will hear His voice. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27 WEB) Psalm 23:3-4 - Jesus guides you in the paths of righteousness. Even if you wander away and walk into the valley of the shadow of death, He is still with you. When you humble yourself to inquire of Him, He will surely help you. “He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalms 23:3-4 WEB) 2 Chronicles 20:12 - Jehoshaphat was so humble to admit that he had no power nor wisdom to defeat his enemies. We only need to keep our eyes on Jesus and His promises to us. “Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no might against this great company that comes against us. We don’t know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”” (2 Chronicles 20:12 WEB) 2 Chronicles 20:15-17 - Do not be afraid of the challenges you are facing. The battle is not yours, but God’s. When God fights for you, you are going to win. Victory is surely yours. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. “and he said, “Listen, all Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, king Jehoshaphat. Yahweh says to you, ‘Don’t be afraid, and don’t be dismayed because of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow, go down against them. Behold, they are coming up by the ascent of Ziz. You will find them at the end of the valley, before the wilderness of Jeruel. You will not need to fight this battle. Set yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of Yahweh with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Don’t be afraid, nor be dismayed. Go out against them tomorrow, for Yahweh is with you.’”” (2 Chronicles 20:15-17 WEB) 2 Chronicles 20:20 - To have 20/20 perfect vision is to believe in God and to believe in the inspired words of God’s prophets (God-inspired words that cause edification, comfort and strengthening). You will be established and you will prosper. “They rose early in the morning, and went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. As they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in Yahweh your God, so you will be established! Believe his prophets, so you will prosper.”” (2 Chronicles 20:20 WEB) 2 Chronicles 20:21-23 - The words translated as “loving kindness” in the original Hebrew is “hesed” which means grace. Jehoshaphat stationed singers and worshippers in front of his army which is in the natural, a bad military decision. When you fix your eyes on God’s Grace, something happens to your enemies. Praise is your weapon. When you praise, something good happens to you. “When he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who were to sing to Yahweh, and give praise in holy array, as they go out before the army, and say, “Give thanks to Yahweh; for his loving kindness endures forever.” When they began to sing and to praise, Yahweh set ambushers against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were struck. For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them: and when they had finished the inhabitants of Seir, everyone helped to destroy another.” (2 Chronicles 20:21-23 WEB) 2 Chronicles 20:24-27 - The valley of trouble became the valley of blessing (Beracah). When Judah praised the Lord, the Lord fought for them. “When Judah came to the place overlooking the wilderness, they looked at the multitude; and behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and there were none who escaped. When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take their plunder, they found among them in abundance both riches and dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away. They took plunder for three days, it was so much. On the fourth day, they assembled themselves in Beracah Valley, for there they blessed Yahweh. Therefore the name of that place was called “Beracah Valley” to this day. Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, with Jehoshaphat in front of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for Yahweh had made them to rejoice over their enemies.” (2 Chronicles 20:24-27 WEB) Romans 8:28 - Praise God for He makes all things work together for your good. “We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28 WEB) Matthew 21:16 - Jesus quoted from Psalm 8, but He changed the word “strength” to “praise” instead. He equated strength with praise. “and said to him, “Do you hear what these are saying?” Jesus said to them, “Yes. Did you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing babies you have perfected praise?’”” (Matthew 21:16 WEB) Psalm 8:1-2 - Praise is your strength to silence the enemy and the avenger. Every time you praise the Lord, something shifts in the spirit realm and something good will happen for you. “Yahweh, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth, who has set your glory above the heavens! From the lips of babes and infants you have established strength, because of your adversaries, that you might silence the enemy and the avenger.” (Psalms 8:1-2 WEB) Psalm 34:1-6 - David was a man who praised God, even in the toughest situations of his life. David wrote this psalm when he was exiled from his own nation and had to feign madness, letting his drool run down his beard in order to avoid death. Even in the toughest times, keeping praising Jesus. He will turn the situation around for your good. “I will bless Yahweh at all times. His praise will always be in my mouth. My soul shall boast in Yahweh. The humble shall hear of it, and be glad. Oh magnify Yahweh with me. Let us exalt his name together. I sought Yahweh, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked to him, and were radiant. Their faces shall never be covered with shame. This poor man cried, and Yahweh heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.” (Psalms 34:1-6 WEB) 2 August 2020 - Yahweh is your Portion - Pastor Lawrence Lim Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPastor Lawrence Lim encouraged us with a timely sermon brimming with Biblical hope. Because the Lord Yahweh is your portion, everything that He has and that He is also belongs to you! Confess that and expect good things to happen to you every day. Praise and worship songs performed: 1. Give Me This Mountain - New Creation Worship 2. Here I Bow - Bethel Music James 4:13-14 - Life is vulnerable to sudden change. This COVID-19 pandemic has shown it. “Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow let’s go into this city, and spend a year there, trade, and make a profit.” Whereas you don’t know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away.” (James 4:13-14 WEB) Despite the troubles around, the Lord is still with you. He is for you and He loves you. The children of Israel were in Egypt but they were not afflicted by the plagues that struck the Egyptians. We are in the world but not of the world. Psalm 42:5 - When the world says “hope”, they use it to refer to something they desire to have, but are unsure whether it will come true. But Biblical hope is a confident expectation of good things to come. It means you will surely have what you prayed for. Even though you feel frustrated, disappointed or cast down, remind yourself to hope in God. “Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence.” (Psalms 42:5 WEB) Psalm 23:4 - Always remember that God is with you, even in dark seasons. Shepherds use the rod to fend off wolves that try to attack the flock. The rod represents God’s protection against enemies. The shepherd uses the staff to direct the sheep back to the right path. The staff represents God’s guidance. “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalms 23:4 WEB) Psalm 119:105 - God’s word is the staff that guides us. “Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path.” (Psalms 119:105 WEB) 14 June 2020 - Jesus is your Strength - New Creation Church Sermon Notes - Pastor Lawrence Lim Sermon NotesWhen you feel strengthless, receive Jesus as your strength. You will come out of the deep valley with great restoration. Not everything that happens is good, but all things will work together for your good! Praise and worship songs performed: 1. Latter Rain - New Creation Worship 2. God You’re So Good Luke 1:17 - Elizabeth and Zacharias was an elderly couple and they were childless. “But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they both were well advanced in years.” (Luke 1:7 WEB) Luke 1:11-16 - The Lord hears your prayer. Elizabeth and Zacharias had a child in their old age. Their son was named “John” which means “God is grace”. You’re never too old to be used by God. Moses was 80 years old when he was called by God to deliver the children of Israel out of Egypt. Caleb was 85 when he conquered the mountain and slayed giants. Your age will increase but your youth can be renewed when your trust is in the Lord. It’s a supernatural transformation. You will run and not be weary. You will mount up on wings like eagles. “An angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense. Zacharias was troubled when he saw him, and fear fell upon him. But the angel said to him, “Don’t be afraid, Zacharias, because your request has been heard, and your wife, Elizabeth, will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. You will have joy and gladness; and many will rejoice at his birth. For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and he will drink no wine nor strong drink. He will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb. He will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord, their God.” (Luke 1:11-16 WEB) Isaiah 46:4 - God will love you throughout all your days. His love for you never decreases. “Even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear. Yes, I will carry, and will deliver.” (Isaiah 46:4 WEB) Acts 2:17 - Both the young and old will be mightily used by God in these last days for end-time revivals. “‘It will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams.” (Acts 2:17 WEB) |
