13 September 2020 - Praying in Tongues: Your Powerful Threshing Sledge - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPastor Joseph Prince taught that the gift of praying in tongues is a precious firstborn inheritance. It is a New Covenant weapon that destroys your mountains of problems and receives God's blessings, so pray in the Spirit often! God is no respecter of persons. What He can do for someone else, He can also do for you. While we were still sinners, God sent Jesus to die for us. Children who are loved will imitate their parents. The entrance of God’s word gives light, even if the message seems to be irrelevant to your situation. If you can’t see, just switch on the light instead of cursing the darkness. Isaiah 59:19-60:3 - The western countries had the revelation of the power of the name of the Lord first. But the glory of the Lord will be seen in the eastern countries (Asia). “Rising of the sun” reminds us of Japan, “the land of the rising sun”. God is going to do great things in the eastern countries like Japan, South Korea and even North Korea. Glory comes after grace. Keep God’s word in your mouth, especially praying in tongues. The notable thing that Isaac did was to uncover the wells dug by Abraham. Those wells were covered up by the Philistines. The devil is covering the wells of God’s word but God is progressively uncovering these truths now. A lot of believers are afraid of the word “prosperity” spoken in church. The devil has covered this well. Many hypocrites preach against prosperity but they themselves have big houses and two or three cars. God’s will is for us to prosper in all things—but not for greed. Pray in tongues. God’s glory will arise upon you. “So shall they fear Yahweh’s name from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun; for he will come as a rushing stream, which Yahweh’s breath drives. “A Redeemer will come to Zion, and to those who turn from disobedience in Jacob,” says Yahweh. “As for me, this is my covenant with them,” says Yahweh. “My Spirit who is on you, and my words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, nor out of the mouth of your offspring, nor out of the mouth of your offspring’s offspring,” says Yahweh, “from henceforth and forever.” ““Arise, shine; for your light has come, and Yahweh’s glory has risen on you. For, behold, darkness will cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but Yahweh will arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” (Isaiah 59:19-60:3 WEB) Acts 2:16-19 - God is pouring out His Spirit on all flesh in these last days. When we prophesy, God will show wonders. “But this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel: ‘It will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams. Yes, and on my servants and on my handmaidens in those days, I will pour out my Spirit, and they will prophesy. I will show wonders in the sky above, and signs on the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and billows of smoke.” (Acts 2:16-19 WEB) Follow after love and desire spiritual gifts. The Holy Spirit will work through you. When you sense a flowing of God’s love and compassion, follow that prompting and the gifts of the Holy Spirit will manifest. These gifts are not just for ministering to believers, but to unbelievers as well.

6 September 2020 - Activate the Helmet of Salvation and the Sword of the Spirit - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPastor Joseph Prince taught us how to rely on the Holy Spirit which produces in us a higher standard of moral excellence than is possible under the Law. By relying on the heavenly prayer language of "praying in the Spirit", we can repair our bodies, minds and position ourselves to receive breakthroughs which we don't know how to pray for in words! Praise and worship songs performed: 1. See a Victory - Elevation Worship 2. Turn your Eyes Upon Jesus 2 Peter 1:2 - Grace, mercy and peace (shalom) is not multiplied by us doing more, but through the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. “Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,” (2 Peter 1:2 WEB) Romans 10:14,17 - Faith can come and increase by hearing and hearing the word of Christ. The context here is hearing through a preacher. “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher? ...So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:14, 17 WEB) Philippians 2:13 - The indwelling Holy Spirit works (energeo) in you to become both willing and able to do His purpose. “For it is God who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13 WEB) Ephesians 4:28 - The Law says “Do not steal”, but Grace asks us to work with our hands so that we can give. If you keep the Law. you can avoid stealing and still be stingy. But Grace makes you generous. “Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, producing with his hands something that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need.” (Ephesians 4:28 WEB) Acts 20:35 - With man, we are more blessed to give than to receive. “In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”” (Acts 20:35 WEB) 1 John 3:16 - The Law says “do not murder”, but Grace teaches us to lay down our lives for the brethren. Grace supersedes the moral requirements of the Law. “By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.” (1 John 3:16 WEB) Colossians 4:6 - The Law says “Do not lie”, but Grace makes us speak gracious words, seasoned with salt. The Holy Spirit is grieved when we don’t speak words of Grace. Even though Gideon was hiding in the threshing floor, God still called him a valiant man. This is extending undeserved favor. “Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.” (Colossians 4:6 WEB) Ephesians 5:25 - The Law says “You shall not commit adultery”, but Grace teaches and empowers you to love your wife just as Christ loved the church. If you are on bad terms with your wife, just focus on Jesus and see Him loving you. “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it;” (Ephesians 5:25 WEB) Romans 7:4-6 - We are not under the covenant of the Law, but under the covenant of Grace. Jesus supersedes the standard of the Law, and yet He empowers us to live righteously. The Law will not bend to help you become righteous or live righteously. “Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you would be joined to another, to him who was raised from the dead, that we might produce fruit to God. For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law, worked in our members to bring out fruit to death. But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that in which we were held; so that we serve in newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.” (Romans 7:4-6 WEB) 27 October 2019 - Charge Yourself Up in the Holy Spirit - Pastor Mark Ng Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship Songs performed: 1. Way Maker - Sinach 2. You Have Laid Aside Your Majesty - Noel Richards 3. Majesty (Here I Am) - Martin Smith 4. Here - New Creation Worship Acts 2:1-4 - The Holy Spirit—the Father’s promise—was sent on the birthday of the church, on the Day of Petecost. Our Heavenly Father wants to be connected with us and be in communication with us. On that day, the Holy Spirit rushed down to embrace the disciples in the upper room. “Now when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all with one accord in one place. Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.” (Acts 2:1-4 WEB) Colossians 1:20-23 - We are able to be in God’s presence and the Holy Spirit in us because we are cleansed by the blood of Jesus. God sees us as holy and blameless as Jesus is. Utterance is not about everyday speech but is of a dignified and elevated discourse. God gives us utterance when we pray in tongues. “and through him to reconcile all things to himself, by him, whether things on the earth, or things in the heavens, having made peace through the blood of his cross. You, being in past times alienated and enemies in your mind in your evil deeds, yet now he has reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and without defect and blameless before him, if it is so that you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the Good News which you heard, which is being proclaimed in all creation under heaven; of which I, Paul, was made a servant.” (Colossians 1:20-23 WEB) Romans 8:26 - God wants to help us in our weaknesses, sicknesses, diseases and inability to pray. When we pray in tongues we are allowing God to build ourselves up. If Paul didn’t know how to pray, then we need this gift too. “In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered.” (Romans 8:26 WEB) The path of the righteous shines brighter and brighter. Next year is going to be even better than this year. We are set apart from this world. It is God who first loved us. We are born to be loved by Him. Everyday we are tempted to fear, so God wants to help us. 1 Corinthians 3:16 - You are the Holy Spirit’s address. You are a mobile temple of God. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ (Jesus). “Don’t you know that you are a temple of God, and that God’s Spirit lives in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16 WEB) Last week, in Rock Kidz “Treasured” (5-6 years old) children’s ministry, the children were baptized in the Holy Spirit and prayed in tongues for the first time. They will be receiving a series of teachings about praying in tongues over the next few weeks. How to Begin Praying in Tongues According to the Bible“But you, beloved, keep building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.” (Jude 1:20 WEB) There’s faith, and then there’s a “most holy faith”. Holy means to be set apart. When we pray in the Holy Spirit, also known as praying in tongues, we are using a “most holy faith”. It is a faith that is uncorrupted by worldly beliefs, unhindered by our mind’s tendency to produce unbelief in our hearts and un-limited by our understanding of Scriptures and God’s heart for us. Praying in tongues is truly a gift that sets us apart unto God’s will—Jesus Himself praying for us through His Spirit living inside us, offering up praise and prayers that are perfectly aligned with God the Father’s will. “In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered. He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit’s mind, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God.” (Romans 8:26-27 WEB) It’s the gift that allows the holy Trinity to work in tandem, having free rein over your life—destroying whatever obstacles are in your way, orchestrating blessings in your path, building you up in all ways (body, soul and spirit) and even praying for others who need urgent help. “So the tongue is also a little member, and boasts great things. See how a small fire can spread to a large forest! And the tongue is a fire. The world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by Gehenna.” (James 3:5-6 WEB) As ignorant unbelievers, we once used the power in our tongues to speak death and destroy what is good in our lives, sabotaging our destinies. “Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.” (Acts 2:3-4 WEB) On the Day of Pentecost when Jesus poured out the Holy Spirit upon the church, the Holy Spirit manifested Himself as tongues of fire to show the nature of the gift of praying in tongues. Through the gift of praying in tongues, God catches hold of our tongues and uses its power to burn away what is evil and set up what is good and life-giving in our lives.
What is the Burden of the Spirit and What to Do when you Have itIf you found this post helpful, you can also check out my Patreon for more exclusive Bible studies, sermon notes, devotionals and eBooks that are not posted anywhere else. It was 4am in the morning. Something woke me up and I felt a churning, uneasy burden in my belly area. No I wasn’t having an upset stomach, haha! This isn’t the first time that this has happened. I knew what was about to happen too - I tried to tell myself “No it can’t be, she won’t wake up. Suppress your vibes of uneasiness if not it will really affect her and wake her up!” Like clockwork, moments later, my 2 year old daughter Maeleth woke up nearby, crying loudly for her mum. I sleep in the same room as Mae because we aren't ready to let Mae is ready to sleep on her own in the room yet. How can I explain this strange phenomenon except by saying that the Holy Spirit woke me up and let me know in advance that Mae was about to wake up? She usually sleeps through the night: from 10pm all the way to 8am. Accompanied by the uneasy burden in my belly was the strong desire to pray in tongues. I prayed silently, with stammering lips, like it says in God’s word. “Indeed, the LORD will teach this people [in a more humiliating way] By [men with] stammering lips and a foreign tongue, He who said to them, “This is the place of quiet, give rest to the weary,” And, “This is the resting place,” yet they would not listen.”(ISAIAH 28:11-12 AMP) When God places the burden of the Spirit in your heart, it's something important and urgent - pray right away!I believe that when God places a burden in our spirit, He also wants us to pray right away. The Word says that God gives His beloved sleep. If it wasn’t urgent, I’m sure He wouldn’t have jolted me awake at 4am. Since we don’t know what He wants us to pray for, its best that we pray in tongues - the perfect prayer for every situation. “In the same way the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words. And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because the Spirit intercedes [before God] on behalf of God’s people in accordance with God’s will.” (ROMANS 8:26-27 AMP) I think that when I was praying in tongues that morning, I was receiving God’s grace and empowerment to handle the night feed and to put Mae back to bed. I was seriously tired and it’s only by God’s grace that it all worked out. Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, when you receive a burden in your spirit, remember to pray in tongues. You may be saving someone’s life at that very moment by allowing God to work “on earth as it is in heaven”. “‘Your kingdom come, Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.” (MATTHEW6:10 AMP) Let us always be prepared to use our mouths which have been sanctified by Jesus’ finished work at the cross, to serve our loving Heavenly Father - not out of a slavish mentality, but as a response of love because we are beloved sons and daughters of God. We are also royal priests after all, and we can stand in intercession for people here on earth. ““You have made them to be a kingdom [of royal subjects] and priests to our God; and they will reign on the earth.”” (REVELATION 5:10 AMP) When God gave man the gift of free will, He was essentially promising not to force His blessings on man if they didn’t want it. That’s why the church is so important: when we pray, we are allowing God to work in the area that we are praying about. Meditate on this: The awesome power of praying in tongues, which is essentially letting God do exactly what He wants to do - much more accurate and powerful than homing missiles. God is all-knowing, all-powerful, and He loves us with an everlasting love - you can be assured that whatever you're praying for in tongues will lead to a good future for you: "For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
