All Scripture is inspired of God, but not every word in Scripture is the Gospel.

Exodus 21:1-6 - After God gave the Ten Commandments, He gave a statute about bondservants.
The Bondservant refers to our Lord Jesus.
Jesus could have returned to Heaven at any time without us, but He chose to stay and die at the cross, in full submission to the will of the Father.
Jesus is still the divine servant today. When John saw him in a vision, Jesus was wearing a golden girdle (servants wore a girdle).

““Now these are the judgments which you shall set before them: If you buy a Hebrew servant, he shall serve six years; and in the seventh he shall go out free and pay nothing. If he comes in by himself, he shall go out by himself; if he comes in married, then his wife shall go out with him. If his master has given him a wife, and she has borne him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself. But if the servant plainly says, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free,’ then his master shall bring him to the judges. He shall also bring him to the door, or to the doorpost, and his master shall pierce his ear with an awl; and he shall serve him forever.” (Exodus 21:1-6 NKJV)

After Jesus rose from the dead, He appeared to the two disciples on the Road to Emmaus and expounded to all things concerning Himself.
He restrained their eyes from recognizing Him in person because He wanted to give us all an equal opportunity to see Him in the word of God.
The disciples said between themselves, "Did not our hearts burn...". A ministry from the Lord will lead to burning hearts.

The Greek translation says: Faith comes by hearing and hearing the spoken word of Christ (rhematos Christou).

John 1:17 - Truth is on the side of grace. The Law is true but it is not the Truth that sets you free.
The Law demands righteousness but will not lift a finger to help.
Grace imparts righteousness.
The Law says take off your shoes for this is holy ground.
Grace says put on his shoes for he has a right.
The letter kills but the Spirit gives life.

“For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” (John 1:17 NKJV)

Romans 5:19 - It is not our obedience that makes us righteous. It is by Jesus' obedience that we are made righteous.
No amount of doing good could make us righteous. What Adam did was so powerful that we were stuck in the cage of sinner-hood.
If what the First Adam did was so powerful, what makes you think you can undo what the greater Last Adam (Jesus) did?

“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.” (Romans 5:19 NKJV)

Righteousness is not a reward, it is a gift

Peter, a man of action, said that Jesus did no sin. John said that in Him was no sin. Paul, a man of intellect, said that Jesus knew no sin.
How did Jesus become sin at the cross? He received our sin.
How come we became righteous? We received Jesus' righteousness.
Jesus was suspended between heaven and earth, like both realms would not receive Him.
That happened so that we would be be treated like we were the most precious person to God.

Under the Old Testament, the sinner brings a lamb to the priest as an offering.
The priest doesn't examine the sinner - he examines the offering (the lamb).
The sinner then lays his hands on the innocent lamb, identifying his sins with the lamb, and the righteousness of the lamb is identified with the sinner.
The lamb is then slain and the sinner walks away with something he never had before this: the favor of God. This is the Gospel.

Galatians 1:6-9 - There is a double curse on any preacher that doesn't preach the grace of Christ.
The gospel is perverted when the Law is introduced into it.
The problem in the church is mixture.
If you preach the gospel of grace you will be doubly blessed.

“I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:6-9 NKJV)

I Corinthians 15:56 - The dynamite (dunamis) of sin is the Law. If we can remove the Law from the people, sin will have no power.
Our part in the New Covenant of Grace is to rest. God is the One who has done and supplies everything.
When we work, God rests. When we rest, God works.
The harder you try, the worst it is.
Do you pray for victory or do you pray from victory?
Do you fight for victory or do you fight from victory?

“The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.” (I Corinthians 15:56 NKJV)

Romans 5:17 - Righteousness is not a reward. It is a gift.
The greatest way to honor the Lord is to stand tall and believe that you are the righteousness of God in Him.
When you confess that you have the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness, you will reign in life.
When you reign in life, the devil doesn't.

“For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)” (Romans 5:17 NKJV)

True change is not behavior modification - it's heart transformation.

How was Abraham holy? He was called the friend of God. He lived 400 years before the Law was even introduced.
How was Joseph holy - how did he resist the temptation of Potiphar's wife?
Joseph lived before the Law. He knew the love of God for him.

When we were infants we were kept under the Law, but when Grace came, we are now full-fledged sons.
Sons don't have to be good to inherit, they just need to be a son.
The inheritance isn't going to a servant, it's going to a son. We believers are all sons and daughters of God.

Many people think that Grace is basic and the Law is advanced.
Jesus said "you will know the truth and the truth will set you free". The people that He was talking to were experts who knew the Law.
The truth that sets us free is not the Law. That truth is grace!

Fix your eyes on God's love for you, not your love for God

Hypocrisy is pretending to be what we are not. God sees us believers as righteous!

Nicodemus, a Pharisee, came to Jesus, whereas Jesus went to the Samaritan woman at the well.
Nicodemus was eventually saved but his progress was slow.
The woman became an evangelist for Jesus all within one hour of being with Jesus.

The Lord needs to let the woman know that He knows everything about her in order for her to feel loved.
If we always need to put our best foot forward we will never feel truly loved.

Anyone can preach do good get good and do bad get bad.
But to unveil the loveliness and excellencies of Jesus takes the Holy Spirit.

Moses was not allowed to enter the Promised Land because he struck the rock instead of speaking to it.
The servant does not abide in the house forever, only the son does.
Moses is the servant who gave the Law.
The Law (represented by Moses the servant) cannot bring you into the Promised Land.
Jesus (same name as Joshua "Yeshua") the Son is the one who will bring you into the Promised Land.

Most people fighting for the Law cannot even memorize the Ten Commandments.
Instead of fighting to put the Law into public schools, we should be putting John 3:16 back into public schools.

When Peter first encountered Jesus and witnessed the miraculous catch of fish, he was conscious of Jesus' holiness.
Peter denied knowing Jesus three times after Jesus was betrayed.
Peter boasted in his love for the Lord, whereas John relied on Jesus' love for him.
The phrase "the disciple whom Jesus loved" only appears in John's own gospel. He knew the secret: to rely on Jesus' love for him.
When all is said and done, John was the only one who was at the foot of the cross with Jesus.
John was there for spiritual use for Jesus: Jesus entrusted the care of His mother to John.
Peter was nowhere in sight.

I John 4:10 - No one is able to keep the Law and love God with all our heart, mind and soul.
Under grace, God is the One who loves us with all His heart, mind and soul.
Fix your eyes on God's love for you. His love for you is constant.
When you fix your eyes on what is unshakable, you will be a stable believer, ready for the Master's use.
The ones who are loved best, love best.

“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” (I John 4:10 NKJV)

Jesus was baptized at the lowest place on earth: the River Jordan.
At that time the Father said to Jesus that He was His Beloved Son in whom He was well pleased.
When Jesus was on the highest place in Israel (mountain) with Peter, James and John, the Father again said that Jesus was His Beloved Son.
In the lowest and highest places of our lives, God's love for us is constant.
The name Peter means "stone", James means "to supplant (to be replaced)", and John means "grace" - the stone (Law) has been replaced by Grace.

When the devil came to tempt Jesus in the wilderness, he said "If you are the son of God", leaving out the word "beloved".
It is counter-productive for the devil to remind Jesus that He is loved.
Temptation cannot affect you when you know that you are the one whom Jesus loves.

After Jesus rose from the dead, He appeared privately to Peter and restored him.
In John 21, John who knew of Jesus' love for him recognized Jesus first.
Knowing God's love for you will make you sharp and perceptive.
Now Peter hearing that it was Jesus, jumped into the sea towards Jesus.
That's progress. Now he is more conscious of Jesus' love for him than of Jesus' holiness.
