4 February 2018 - The Fall of Lucifer and What Does Satan Want - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online

Jesus wants to be part of our daily lives. He daily loads us with His benefits.

If we fall into sin as believers, it’s not the end of the world, the forgiveness has been provided for by Jesus.

Preaching right believing cannot lead to wrong living. Preaching the truth cannot lead to living a lie.

Everything beautiful in nature reflects our Creator. Only someone beautiful can create beautiful things.
Even the adorable child you carry in your hands was created by Him. God must be cuter and more adorable.

Some people believe that the world was created by a Big Bang. Pastor Prince believes that yes, when God speaks there is a Big Bang.

Man did not evolve from a lower species. Everything in this world breaks down and degenerates.
If you leave a cup of hot coffee on the table, it will cool down.

Man cannot give life. Only God can. The magicians of Egypt under Pharaoh couldn’t reproduce what God did when He sent the plague of lice.
They had to admit that it was truly the finger of God.

Proverbs 16:12 - God’s throne is established by righteousness as well.
If God does something unrighteous, His throne would be shaken and the entire universe would collapse.

“It is an abomination for kings to commit wickedness, For a throne is established by righteousness.” (Proverbs 16:12 NKJV)

Proverbs 20:28 - The word “upholden” in Hebrew means supported by.
“Mercy and truth” in Hebrew is “hesed ve emet” which means grace and truth. God has to be righteous, but His heart is for true grace.

“Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.” (Proverbs 20:28 KJV)

What is Leprosy? You get cut off from your people. Lepers live isolated. It's like a life sentence. It's more than just a physical thing - it represents our sin.
Under the Law, if the leper touches another person, the other person would become unclean.
Under grace, when Jesus touched the leper, the leper became clean. The Law demands, grace supplies.

The cross is the answer to God's heart of grace: Righteousness says that if man sins, there must be death.
Because of the quality of the Man (Jesus) that died for us, there was a huge overpayment for our sin debt.
Where is the grace and love part of the cross?
It is that God didn’t want the punishment for our sins to be upon us. He chose to have it upon Jesus instead.

Adam bowed his knee to the outlaw spirit and gave the earth to the devil.
The devil hates us because we are made in God’s image.
The devil brought everything that’s the opposite of true pleasure into the earth.
Even if something sinful gives temporary pleasure, it will cause a more permanent pain after that.

God did not create carnivorous animals. When the lion was created, it did not originally eat meat.
When Adam fell, all Creation fell with him. This is the way God designed: a representative’s leadership would determine whether everyone in the family is blessed or cursed.
Your father was the representative head of your household when you were a child. Whether you like it or not, your destiny is wrapped up in the lives of your ancestors.

Romans 8:22 - After Adam fell, all Creation travails and moans, crying out for redemption. When Jesus returns to rule on earth, children will even play safely with once dangerous animals.
Animals will be restored to their original, good-natured selves.

“For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.” (Romans 8:22 NKJV)

The fall of Lucifer and what Satan really wants

Genesis 1:1-2 - “without form, and void” in Hebrew means “a wilderness”. It was chaotic.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” (Genesis 1:1-2 NKJV)

Isaiah 45:18 - God did not create the earth to be chaotic or without form and void.

“For thus says the LORD, Who created the heavens, Who is God, Who formed the earth and made it, Who has established it, Who did not create it in vain, Who formed it to be inhabited: “I am the LORD, and there is no other.” (Isaiah 45:18 NKJV)

God said to man “be fruitful and replenish the earth”. “Re” means to do it again. This means that before man was created, another civilization existed on the earth.

Pastor Prince believes that before man was created, the three archangels Michael, Gabriel and Lucifer, lived on the earth.
Michael is the warring archangel. Gabriel is the messenger archangel and there was Lucifer.

Ezekiel 28:13-19 - Before man was created, Lucifer was in Eden. Lucifer was created by God as an amazingly beautiful creature.
He was a musical, worshipping archangel. He had music instruments built in him.
Before man fell, there was no war and no messages to give so what were Michael and Gabriel doing? They were probably also worshipping archangels.
The three archangels were probably all created as worshipping archangels: a tripartite - God creates many things in threes.
Cherubs are powerful angels - they are not little cute baby angels floating around on a cloud and shooting arrows of love from his bow.
The iniquity that was found in Lucifer was the sin of pride.
Lucifer was the highest being that’s next to God.
He could have easily tempted Adam to kill Eve but that’s not his plan.
Lucifer has a higher ambition: he was aiming for God’s throne. His plan is to make God compromise on His righteousness so that God’s throne would be forfeited.
The devil thinks that if God lost His throne, he would be the one next in line to be the new God.
Lucifer saw that God loves man and that man brought pleasure to God. He hurt man so as to force God to do something that would compromise His righteousness.
The difference between Lucifer and man’s sin is that Lucifer chose to sin - no one tempted him. But Adam was tempted by the devil to sin.

“You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created. “You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you. “By the abundance of your trading You became filled with violence within, And you sinned; Therefore I cast you as a profane thing Out of the mountain of God; And I destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the fiery stones. “Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor; I cast you to the ground, I laid you before kings, That they might gaze at you. “You defiled your sanctuaries By the multitude of your iniquities, By the iniquity of your trading; Therefore I brought fire from your midst; It devoured you, And I turned you to ashes upon the earth In the sight of all who saw you. All who knew you among the peoples are astonished at you; You have become a horror, And shall be no more forever.” ’ ” (Ezekiel 28:13-19 NKJV)

Exodus 25:18-20 - The three archangels were created as cherubs that covered God’s throne. They were created to be custodians/guardians of God’s holiness and righteousness.
The mercy seat represents God's throne. God didn’t want to see and be reminded of man’s sins as represented by the two tablets of the Ten Commandments.
Once a year, on the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), blood would be sprinkled on the mercy seat to cover man’s sins.

“And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work you shall make them at the two ends of the mercy seat. Make one cherub at one end, and the other cherub at the other end; you shall make the cherubim at the two ends of it of one piece with the mercy seat. And the cherubim shall stretch out their wings above, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and they shall face one another; the faces of the cherubim shall be toward the mercy seat.” (Exodus 25:18-20 NKJV)

One third of the angels in heaven rebelled together with Lucifer.
They fell and became the demons on earth today.
They seem to gravitate towards certain places on the earth today because probably those allotted domains are the ones accessible to the devil and his cohorts.
The good news is that there are still two thirds of holy angels that are for us.
There are more angels with us than with the devil.

Animals do not have a spirit. Man has free will and a spirit.
Man can connect and fellowship with God through his spirit.
Man is a higher creation than animals.

God was the first one to kill an animal. He killed the animals to make bloodied coats of skin to cover Adam and Eve.
Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.
Adam and Eve made coverings of leaves for themselves but it was insufficient for them.
But when God creates a covering, it is all-sufficient for man.

Before Adam and Eve left the Garden of Eden, God prophesied that the seed of the woman would crush the devil. That seed is Jesus.
The devil thought that Abel was the prophesied seed and instigated Cain to kill Abel.
This shows that the devil is not all-knowing, and another thing is that he can’t be everywhere at once.
Most times when we are tempted or we feel a dark presence oppressing us, it’s not the devil himself but probably one or more of his minions.
The devil is probably personally oppressing and tempting God's anointed man of the hour.
Back then Martin Luther said that he felt a dark presence in the room he was in and that the devil was there personally to oppress him.
It could be possible because Martin Luther was God's man of the hour at that time.

God works a lot on you when you are sleeping. When you are sleeping you can’t take credit or work for God’s blessings.
While Adam was sleeping, God created the best for him - Eve.
God works the night shift.
God cut the covenant with Abraham while Abraham was sleeping.
Ask God to repair your cells and restore your youth while you sleep.

Job 1:7-11 - In the Book of Job, God asked Satan, “from where do you come?”
God is not asking because He doesn’t know the answer. God and Jesus ask questions because they want to test people and see what they reply.
The devil still thinks that he is the jealous guardian of God’s righteousness.
In a self-righteous way, the devil is still scanning the earth to watch for who is breaking God’s Law in order to uphold God’s righteousness.

“And the LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?” So Satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.” Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?” So Satan answered the LORD and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!”” (Job 1:7-11 NKJV)

Zechariah 3:1-4 - Satan’s name was not personally mentioned often in the Old Testament. This is one of the places it is mentioned.

“Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him. And the LORD said to Satan, “The LORD rebuke you, Satan! The LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?” Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel. Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.”” (Zechariah 3:1-4 NKJV)

I Corinthians 2:8 - “Rulers of this age” refer to the devil and his high ranking demons. The devil did not understand God's plan of using the cross as a means for mankind to be saved.

“which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” (I Corinthians 2:8 NKJV)

The three archangels Michael, Gabriel and Lucifer were created as powerful covering cherubs who worship God and as custodians of His righteousness. After the fall of Lucifer, there are only two holy archangels left - that's why the Ark of the Covenant only has two cherubs covering the mercy seat - representing Michael and Gabriel.

The Law is powerless against God's love for us - The devil has no fight against grace.

Daniel 6:7-16 - King Darius loved Daniel the most out of all the governors.
The satraps appealed to King Darius’ ego to get their evil law instituted.
Despite the written decree being in place, Daniel still prayed.
In this story, King Darius represents God, Daniel represents us, and the satraps represent the devil and his cohorts.
Here in this part of the story, we see that the love of the king was powerless against the law.

“All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions. Now, O king, establish the decree and sign the writing, so that it cannot be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.” Therefore King Darius signed the written decree. Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days. Then these men assembled and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God. And they went before the king, and spoke concerning the king’s decree: “Have you not signed a decree that every man who petitions any god or man within thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions?” The king answered and said, “The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.” So they answered and said before the king, “That Daniel, who is one of the captives from Judah, does not show due regard for you, O king, or for the decree that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.” And the king, when he heard these words, was greatly displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him; and he labored till the going down of the sun to deliver him. Then these men approached the king, and said to the king, “Know, O king, that it is the law of the Medes and Persians that no decree or statute which the king establishes may be changed.” So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.”” (Daniel 6:7-16 NKJV)

John 8:3-12 - The Pharisees were not so much interested in upholding God's Law, if not they would have stoned the woman where she was caught. There were many stones in Israel.
Their purpose was to catch Jesus doing something that compromised God's Law.
The devil is not so much interested in attacking us as compared to attack God's throne.
The devil's purpose is to put God in a dilemma, to see how He can be righteous and yet be merciful.
Jesus was not pressured by the Pharisees' repeated questioning.
Jesus stooped down twice and wrote on the stony ground to show that He is the God who wrote the Law on Mount Sinai.
Jesus stoops down to raise us up.
Daniel wasn't guilty of the evil law, but this woman was guilty of the perfect and Holy Law.
Jesus said "Neither do I condemn you" because in a few days, He would pay for the woman's sins at the cross.
In the incident of King Darius and Daniel, we see love powerless against the law.
Here in this incident we see the Law powerless against love.
Because of the cross, without compromising His righteousness, our loving God can still have a righteous outlet to give and supply mankind with all their needs.

“Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear. So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more. Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”” (John 8:3-12 NKJV)

We are no longer under the Law because Jesus has already fulfilled the Law!
You can see the pristine standard of the Law fulfilled at the cross. The death of Jesus at the cross righteously paid for all the sins of man.

The devil is still functioning as an Accuser today.
When the devil comes to accuse you and remind you of how you have sinned, remember to point him to the cross where all your sins have been paid for already.
That is how you can have a clear, rested conscience.
The DNA is a very intelligent strain. If you want to punish yourself, it produces something that harms your body and causes sickness and disease.
If you have a clear conscience, it is well for your body.

The veil of the temple is not because God wants man to stay away from Him.
When the veil was torn, God stepped out in love and said “welcome home children”.
We wants us to be reconciled to Him.

The devil understands beauty and wisdom - he uses them to tempt man.
But there is one thing that the devil doesn’t understand and has no fight against: grace (Hesed).
