24 December 2017 - The Greatest Gift of All - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Christmas Service 2017 - Pastor Lawrence Lim Sermon Notes Christmas Sermon 2017

“Santa Claus is Coming to Town” is written by a parent. It is used to threaten a child that if they don’t behave, they will not receive any Christmas presents from the mythical figure Santa Claus.

Usually the cost of a Christmas gift is directly proportional to our love for the person.
The greater the love, the greater the gift.

Jesus is everything to us.

Luke 2:10-11 - Jesus’ job is to save. His name means “Yahweh Saves”.

“Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:13-14 NKJV)

Matthew 1:20-21 - Jesus didn’t come to judge us for our sins. He came to save us from our sins.

“But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”” (Matthew 1:20-21 NKJV)

Luke 2:14 - There is peace on earth because sinful man finally has peace with God and we can have peace in our lives because God takes care of all our needs.

““Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”” (Luke 2:14 NKJV)

God proved that He loves us by giving us the greatest Gift of all - Jesus!

John 3:16-17 - God loves every single person in this world - not just the good people.
Giving up your own child for another person does not fit in the heart of a parent.
God loves you so much that He is willing to give up His only Son for you.
How can God not be generous towards you if He is willing to give up Jesus for you?
It doesn’t matter who you are: Believing in Jesus is an open invitation to the entire world.
The day you believe in Jesus Christ, you will have everlasting life and you will never be lost. God’s word is the assurance.
When we go to heaven, we will know joy that knows no end.
You do not need to be a good person or do good works to be saved. You only need to believe. You are saved by grace.
Jesus did not come to condemn you and tell you what you need to do better. He came to save you.
The Holy Spirit is a voice of encouragement - He does not condemn you.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:16-17 NKJV)

John 4:10 - Jesus spoke kindly to this Samaritan woman who had five husbands and was currently living with a man who was not her husband.
People may have been calling her “husband stealer”/ “marriage breaker”, etc.
Jesus is your greatest Gift.

“Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”” (John 4:10 NKJV)

Philippians 2:6-10 - God did not just give a part of Himself for you. He gave you everything He could give.
Because of love, all of God, loved all of you.
Because of Jesus, now when you’re weak you’re strong, when you’re poor you’re rich.

“who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,” (Philippians 2:6-10 NKJV)

These sermon notes are independently-compiled by me, and I'm just a loyal and regular attendee of the the church's Sunday services, and I feel led to take detailed personal sermon notes of Pastor Prince's anointed messages to share them with the world, which desperately needs the true word of God and the original gospel of grace.

I feel blessed to be able to attend Pastor Joseph Prince's services in person, and would like to help everyone who isn't able to attend in person, to get hold of the messages as soon as it is preached!
