24 April 2022 - Lay Hold Of Your God Purpose - New Creation Church Sermon Notes - Pastor Lim Lian Neo Sermon NotesNew Sermon Notes: Pastor Lian preached an anointed sermon, encouraging all who went through a night season, that they are entering a season of pressing on and laying hold of God’s blessings and His purpose in their lives. There is a divine reset taking place now! Praise and Worship Song Performed: 1. God You’re So Good - Brett Younker 2. Great Things - Phil Wickham 3. Everlasting - New Creation Worship 4. For You Alone - Don Harris Philippians 3:12-13 - The Lord says there is much more to lay hold of. “Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect; but I press on, if it is so that I may take hold of that for which also I was taken hold of by Christ Jesus. Brothers, I don’t regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before,” (Philippians 3:12-13 WEB) The Lord says, “Today there will be a divine reset. Today is the day you will lay hold of God’s promises.” If you have experienced a night season, you are entering a season of laying hold of God’s blessings. The first step to lay hold is to let go of all the former things of the past you are holding on to. Let go and let God. Isaiah 43:18-19 - Remember in Hebrew is “zakar” which means to be mindful. Do not allow bad thoughts to fester in your mind. God will bring you out of the wilderness and refresh you. ““Don’t remember the former things, and don’t consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now. Don’t you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:18-19 WEB) One drop of God’s favor is better than ten years of human labor. See God’s supply coming into your finances. See His strength supplied into the area of your weakness. Philippians 4:8 - Implant good thoughts in your mind and focus on them. The best thoughts are God’s words in the Scriptures. “Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.” (Philippians 4:8 WEB)

Teleportation is a fantasy for many fans of science fiction. You walk into a portal or machine, and BANG, a moment later you’re at another location. Sometimes when I travel for long durations, I would think to myself “Why can’t I just teleport there instead??” The Oxford Dictionary defines “teleport” this way: to transport or be transported across space and distance instantly. Is teleportation just a figment of imagination, or is it possible? Or rather, has it already happened before? Actually it has, and it was recorded a few times in the New Testament of the Bible. In the Book of Acts, Philip, a believer and disciple was teleported from the desert to Azotus. Let’s take a look at what happened: “Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, “Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is desert. So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet. Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.” So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?” And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him. The place in the Scripture which he read was this: “He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before its shearer is silent, So He opened not His mouth. In His humiliation His justice was taken away, And who will declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth.” So the eunuch answered Philip and said, “I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?” Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him. Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?” Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him. Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing. But Philip was found at Azotus. And passing through, he preached in all the cities till he came to Caesarea.” (Acts 8:26-40 NKJV) As you can see, the Holy Spirit caught Philip away and he was found at Azotus. This is definitely not describing natural movement from one place to another - Philip was in the desert and a moment later he found himself at Azotus - if that’s not teleportation then I don’t know what is! Another incident was recounted by the Apostle Paul of someone that he knew who experienced supernatural teleportation. However it is not clear whether he was teleported in his physical body or it was happening as a vision in his mind’s eye. “I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago—whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows--such a one was caught up to the third heaven. And I know such a man—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows— how he was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.” (II Corinthians 12:2-4 NKJV) |
