25 December 2016 - Al-Tirah: Living A Fear-Free Life - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." - (Isaiah 9:6, NKJV) Luke 7:36-50 - The woman with the alabaster box of ointment had a questionable career. Every time she went to work as a prostitute, she lost a bit of her soul. When Jesus was a guest in Simon the Pharisee's house, the woman "bedewed" Jesus' feet with her tears and wiped His feet with her hair. The ointment she bought was very expensive, but she poured it all onto Jesus' feet. Jesus spoke a parable to Simon the Pharisee in terms of what he understood best - money. Simon loved Jesus little, because he thought he was forgiven little. The woman loved Jesus much because she knew that she was forgiven much. Jesus told her "your faith has saved you". It's not our works that saves us, it's our faith in Jesus. “Then one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with him. And He went to the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to eat. And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil. Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he spoke to himself, saying, “This Man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman this is who is touching Him, for she is a sinner.” And Jesus answered and said to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” So he said, “Teacher, say it.” “There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?” Simon answered and said, “I suppose the one whom he forgave more.” And He said to him, “You have rightly judged.” Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head. You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in. You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil. Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.” Then He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” And those who sat at the table with Him began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?” Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”” (Luke 7:36-50 NKJV) Jesus did not begin existing in the virgin Mary's womb. He existed with the Father since the beginning. There are no three Gods. There is only one God. The Lord our God is one. "One" can mean a single God, and it can also mean the united God. If you are worried or troubled, remember that Jesus is the Prince of Peace. The peace He gives is an aggressive peace. Even in the midst of your trouble, you can have His peace. The night before Jesus was crucified, Jesus said "My peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you." The peace Jesus gives us is not the false peace that the world has. It is true peace. Luke 1:11-13 - "Al-tirah" in Hebrew means "fear not". If a citizen of heaven, an angel, comes from a place where there is peace, no death, and no decay, what would he say? What would his message be? The Christmas story tells us that when the angel Gabriel came to Zechariah, he told him, "do not be afraid". It's beautiful how Hebrew names carry lots of meaning - The name "Zechariah" means "God remembers" - don't be afraid, God remembers! We are fearing something all the time, but the message from heaven is al-tirah, do not be afraid! All of us believers have favor with God. “Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense. And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.” (Luke 1:11-13 NKJV)

27 November 2016 - Heaven Focuses on Redemption And Not on Creation - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlineOur Heavenly Father loves us even as He loves the Lord Jesus. If two of us gather in Jesus' name (2 is the smallest majority), there Jesus is in the midst. The church of Jesus Christ is God's greatest dream. The Lord Jesus was always with the Father, even before He came to earth. The Book of Genesis is the book of beginning. The book of Genesis describes the lives of four men as head figures: Adam Noah Abraham is the key figure. God is called the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Joseph (The book of Genesis ends with Joseph). In the four gospels, it takes four writers to talk about One Man, Jesus. When God talks about creation, there is only one chapter. When God talks about redemption, there are many chapters. God did not put redemption as an afterthought. Creation is the servant of redemption. God had in His heart redemption all the while. We are blessed when we study on redemption, because heaven is focused on redemption. When you talk about redemption, all of heaven's focus is on you. Heaven's focus is not on the great, the accomplished or the wealthy. Heaven's focus is on the shepherds, the lowly virgin, etc. 13 November 2016 - As Jesus Is, So Are We In This World - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online2017 will be the 500th year since the Reformation. The Reformation is nothing more than the restoration of the gospel of grace. The Bible from Genesis to Revelation is all God-breathed. God used secretaries and their personalities to write the books of the Bible. In the Gospel of John, "the disciple whom Jesus loved" is written 5 times at the end of the book, and it's written by the man who lived in Jesus' bosom (love). "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" is God-breathed but it's antiquated and not for our time - it's not the gospel. The Hebrew calendar has in this year 777. In the Gregorian calendar, next year is the 500th year since the Reformation. God uses things of no repute and low esteem in the eyes of man to confound the great and educated. The heroes in Jesus' parables are the lost, the last and the least. It's not how much faith you have, it's who your faith is in. If you turn to Jesus, He says that you have great faith. 6 November 2016 - See the Perfect Man in the Gospel of Luke - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlineThe Devil wants to rob us of the sense of God's favor and love upon us. Repentance is about changing our minds. It's about knowing that God is not against you - God is for you! God loves you and He knows you by name. He also knows the numbers of hairs you have on your head - that's how intimately He knows you. God cares about everything that's about you! There's nothing too small or insignificant that you cannot tell God. Cast all your cares upon Him for you cares for you! We grow spiritually not by accumulation of knowledge. You grow more and more by knowing how weak you are and how great God is. You know you are growing spiritually when you are getting more carefree. In God's economy, what is invisible is eternal! The devil wants you in the visual realm, to focus on what is temporal. We are to walk by faith and not by sight. The opposite of faith is sight. If you can see the devil doing something, God is doing the reverse! Example: If the devil releases a new strain of virus into the world, God is releasing a new and fresh anointing of healing into the world! Another example: When Pharaoh was killing babies under the age of 2, God was raising up champion babies (like Moses) into this world. God is not playing catch up, He is always ahead and doing something invisible. The devil is the one that is playing catch up, reacting to something that God is doing. 23 October 2016 - Seeing The Divine Servant in the Gospel of Mark - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlineEvery time you come to God's house, you don't go out the same. You are being transformed from glory to glory. Grace and peace is multiplied to us in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus. Grace is unmerited favor. Psalm 91:3 - A "fowler" is a trapper. The devil lays traps for us, but God will surely deliver us from them. “Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.” (Psalms 91:3 NKJV) I Corinthians 15:58 - Sometimes people serving in full time ministry are serving their image, or serving their own ego. It doesn't mean that someone in full time ministry is definitely serving the Lord Jesus. Serving the Lord doesn't just mean shepherding a group or preaching the word. Serve the Lord in your own capacity that God has blessed you with. The word "steadfast" here means that we must be seated and settled in our righteousness and know that we are blessed, favored and loved before we can serve the Lord. That's why the Christian life begins with us being seated with Christ. The word "immovable" here means that Jesus has already redeemed us from sweat and stress. In the Garden of Eden, Adam was cursed to eat bread from the sweat of his face (from toil and labor). In the Garden of Gethsemane when Jesus sweat blood, that's when He redeemed us from sweat. We can work but we don't have to be stressed. The word "abounding" here means serving the Lord more than just the bare minimum, on a daily basis, not just on Sundays. “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (I Corinthians 15:58 NKJV) 16 October 2016 - Understanding the Four Gospels (Part 2) - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlineThe good thing about reading the Bible is that you will have assurance from God's word. Jesus said that Heaven and earth will pass away, but His words will never pass away. This world will not end in a nuclear holocaust. Jesus will come again and He will set things right. He will not let this world go down the tube. Watch what you focus on. The Bible says a good report makes the bones fat and that a merry heart does good like medicine. A wholesome tongue is a tree of life. Complaining and murmuring can lead to sickness. Does God send these things? No, God is a God of health. Do you want to see how good God is? Look at Jesus - Jesus said that He who has seen me has seen the Father. Jesus never gave anyone sickness while He was on earth. God wants us to prosper, but not to love money. Our prosperity is for a purpose - To help those who are in need. Money is a tool, a vehicle, and a weapon - money in the hands of a good person is used for good purposes, and money in the hands of a bad prison is used for bad purposes. The whole point of reading the gospels is to feed on Christ. When you're sick, start focusing on all the healings, miracles, and wonders that Jesus does in the gospels. You can even see yourself as the characters in the story - example: as the woman with the issue of blood who was healed by Jesus. The word "wind" is the Hebrew word "ruach" which means "evil spirit" (Holy Spirit is ruach hakodesh). Some sicknesses can be caused by demons. You don't always have to address the evil spirit when you pray for deliverance. Be led by the Holy Spirit on how to pray. 2 October 2016 - The God That Rewards - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online
This year marks 50 years of Jerusalem coming back as a nation after the "Six Day War (1967)". 5 is the number of grace and 7 is the number of perfection. Next year marks the 500th year of the Reformation. The Hebrew letters are numbers too. The letter/number 7 is "zayin" which is a picture of a sword, but it also represents sustenance or feeding. We fight by feeding on God's word and God will bring about our victory. We are living in dangerous times. The Bible says that the last days will be dangerous times. However, Psalms 91 tells us that God protects His people. When you recite Psalms 91, you are unleashing powerful spiritual weapons. Jesus Christ set us free once and for all, however we experience that freedom increasingly, step by step. As Christians, we cannot be demon possessed. If the Holy Spirit is in you, He does not share that space with demons. You can possibly be demon-oppressed from the outside (like feeling depressed), but you cannot have a demon inside you. You can tell that you are thinking wrong through your emotions - example: when you feel depressed. When a mother keeps on fearing for her child, there is wrong believing there. By worrying and fearing for your children, you are actually exposing them to danger. Job said "the thing which I greatly feared has come upon me". The very area you are fearful of is the very area you don't trust God in - You trust in the power of the enemy more than in God's protection. Surrender that area that you are fearful of completely to God. Faith is a walk with God. 25 September 2016 - Protection Truths in the Ark of the Covenant (Part 3) - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online
Sometimes when you hear a word in season for you, you may not recognize the need for it at first. Later on, that word will come back when you need it and you will remember it. In such cases, God has gone ahead of you! Jesus moves in life independent of people's opinion. He is not flattered by people, neither is He affected by criticisms towards Him. Only if you are free from caring about people's opinions of you then can you truly serve effectively. Why study the Ark of the Covenant? People who are wise will focus on studying about the Lord Jesus Christ. No matter what your occupation is, your job is to study Jesus! The Old Testament is the New Testament concealed. The New Testament is the Old Testament unveiled. Joseph was a slave but the Bible says that he was a successful man! You can prosper in every area that you have been planted in. Bloom where you are planted. God has planted you where you are at for a reason. Before you were born, you were already an Olympic champion. You beat millions of competitors to be victorious. You are the one that made it! God has made you a champion. Sin is the one that made us losers. God's glory for your mind is tranquility, peace and to be unperturbed. The Ark of the Covenant is the most important piece of furniture of all those in the Tabernacle. God instructed Moses to build the Ark first, and then build outwards. The Ark is the clearest picture of the Lord Jesus Christ. 24 August 2016 (Midweek Service) - Powerful Truths From the Book of Revelation - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlineEven if you don't understand what the word of God is talking about, it is still cleansing you and you can receive healing through it. There's no such thing as the gospel on one side and the message of grace on the other side. There is only one gospel - the gospel of grace! This gospel is as old as the Apostle Paul! Christians don't like mud. A sheep may fall into the mud but it doesn't like to be dirty. A pig on the other hand, will be wallowing in the mud, having a great time. It doesn't mean that believers don't sin anymore, but it's not a believer's nature to sin. The more you identify with your new nature (you are the righteousness of God in Christ), the more you will be victorious over sin, and you will sin less and less. We are not identified with sin but we are identified with righteousness! The world is afraid of contagious diseases. With Jesus, wholeness, life and health are contagious. It doesn't mean we won't fall sick, but it means that we will get sick less and less. Matthew 5:1-2 - Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount while seated down. It's a good idea to do that to prevent fainting or falling down (haha). “And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:” (Matthew 5:1-2 NKJV 11 September 2016 - Protection Truths in the Ark of the Covenant (Part 2) - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlineJesus felt the whole gamut of human emotions just like we do, just that He being God and without the sin nature in Him, has the power to control them. What the three items inside the Ark of the Covenant represent: 1) The two tablets of the Ten Commandments represents Man's rejection of God's standards. 2) The pot of manna represents Man's rejection of God's provision. 3) Aaron's rod that budded represents Man's rejection of God-appointed leadership. The first mention of the "ark" is in Genesis, when Joseph was buried in a coffin. The word "coffin" is the word for ark. The ark is a coffin for the three items. The only suitable place for the three items is under the mercy seat. Grace is higher than the Law - that's why you can fall from Grace. The mercy seat is placed above the three items in the Ark of the Covenant. Blood is sprinkled on the mercy seat - God cannot look through His Son's blood. When God sees blood He cannot see sin. Jesus is the true Manna. He is the Bread from heaven. When you partake of the Holy Communion, remember that you are partaking of Jesus' flesh, which He gave for the life of the world. Aging is nothing more than dying, but now that we are partaking of Jesus' flesh, we will not die, but live. |
