He is kind, adventurous, and compassionate. Although he sometimes feels afraid or becomes distracted, he repents quickly and continues moving forward by depending on the Holy Spirit instead of relying only on his own strength.
Players control Chibi Milton as he walks, runs, jumps, and battles enemies in Dark Forest.
His journey represents the experience of every growing believer: learning to recognise God’s guidance, discovering truth, overcoming fear, and growing through a personal relationship with Jesus.
Holy Spirit Bird
Holy Spirit Bird is Chibi Milton’s gentle and trustworthy guide.
Appearing as a small white dove with a golden halo, he represents the guidance, comfort, and help of the Holy Spirit. He accompanies Chibi Milton throughout Grace Garden and reminds him that he never has to explore alone.
Although small and adorable, Holy Spirit Bird carries great spiritual significance. He encourages Chibi Milton to follow God’s leading, remember the Scriptures, and rely on divine wisdom rather than his own understanding.
His presence is a reminder that the Holy Spirit is always with believers—to teach, comfort, guide, strengthen, and point them towards Jesus and the Word of God.
The Lore and Background Story of the Game
Dark Forest is not a distant physical land that Chibi Milton simply discovers—it is a section of Chibi Milton’s own mind.
The forest was not always corrupted. It represents an area of his thoughts, plans, ambitions, and decisions that gradually became darkened when Chibi Milton insisted on doing things according to his own human plans. Instead of consistently seeking God for His wisdom and counsel, he began relying on his own understanding and pursuing what seemed right to him.
Over time, those human plans became represented within his mind as the Dark Forest: a tangled and corrupted landscape filled with twisted trees, poisonous swamps, oppressive barriers, Shadow Wisps, and other manifestations of the darkness that had gained influence there.
At the beginning of the adventure, Chibi Milton discovers the Map of Human Plans, symbolizing the plans he had formed and followed without first seeking God's direction. But God has not abandoned Chibi Milton because of his mistakes. Holy Spirit Bird enters the Dark Forest with him as his faithful Guide, leading him through the darkness and helping him recover the Living Scripture Fragments scattered throughout the forest.
These fragments represent the truth of God's Word breaking through confusion and restoring Chibi Milton's thinking. As he progresses deeper into the forest, Chibi Milton learns that he cannot overcome its corruption through human effort alone. He must depend upon God's truth, follow the Holy Spirit's leading, and stand firm against the spiritual opposition attempting to keep the forest in darkness.
Behind that opposition is Chibi Devil, who seeks to exploit the corrupted territory and prevent Chibi Milton from reclaiming it. He has summoned Shadow Wisp Creatures to hinder Chibi Milton and encroach on the stolen land. The confrontation therefore becomes more than a simple battle between a hero and a villain. It represents the Christian call to resist the enemy steadfastly in faith and refuse to allow lies and darkness to dominate our thoughts.
Ultimately, Dark Forest is a story about restoration rather than darkness.
After Chibi Devil is defeated, the way forward is illuminated and Chibi Milton makes an important declaration:
“I choose God's ways.”
The message is that making wrong decisions does not mean God abandons us to wander through the consequences forever. When we turn back to Him, His grace meets us there. His Word brings light. The Holy Spirit faithfully guides us. And God's wisdom can redirect the very areas of our lives where we once depended upon ourselves.
Dark Forest therefore gives visual form to the wisdom of Proverbs 3:5–6: rather than leaning on our own understanding, we are invited to trust in the Lord, acknowledge Him in our ways, and allow Him to direct our paths.
