26 June 2016 - Find Your Position to Possess Your Possessions - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlineSunday is the Lord's Day. Jesus rose from the dead and appeared to His disciples on a Sunday. On a Sunday, Jesus expounded from the Scriptures about the things concerning Himself to the two disciples on the Road to Emmaus. On Sundays, we have to hear something about Christ. That's the solution to our foolishness and slowness of heart to believe. Statistics have shown that people who go to church on Sundays live longer! Don't allow negative news to come into your spirit. Don't waste time reading or watching negative news. For every interview with an opinion given, there is always an opposing view to it. Psalms 91 in the Bible is a psalm that promises God's all-encompassing protection. God's name is mentioned 5 times - the number of grace. There are 3 mentions of habitation in Psalms 91. Psalms 91:1 - "Dwells" is "yashav" which means to sit down. “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” (Psalms 91:1 NKJV) Psalms 91:9-11 - "Dwelling place" in Hebrew is "maon" which means a place of safety. In the Hebrew, the word "plague" is the word for "stroke". No stroke will come near your dwelling. “Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.” (Psalms 91:9-11 NKJV) Psalms 91:16 - "Salvation" is "Yeshua" which is the name of Jesus. We can ask God for long life. It is not to satisfy God, but to satisfy us! “With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”” (Psalms 91:16 NKJV) If you find your position, you will find your possession. Position before possession. Living under the Law is based on human efforts. Grace is based on God's promises. The food on this earth is fallen food. The earth is under the curse. Bless your food before you eat - Therein lies the blessing. If you do things by the flesh, you may get immediate results but it is limited and confined. If you wait on the Lord, it may take longer, but it will be much greater in quality, according to the limitless supply of the Spirit. Colossians 2:10 - We lack for nothing. We are complete in Him now. Our understanding is always playing catch up with God's truths. We are already placed at the finish-line at the beginning of our journey as a believer. “and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.” (Colossians 2:10 NKJV) When we take holy communion to receive healing, we must partake in the position of rest, declaring our faith that we are already healing, and not in the position of trying to be healed. To be healed, we must go into deeper rest in Christ, rather than trying harder to be healed which produces stress. Deuteronomy 28:1-3 - We are set far above all powers and principalities. Christianity begins with DONE, not DO. We walk not to be complete, but we walk in completion. We come with a sense of fullness, not of emptiness. God wants us to feel secure, deeply loved, liberally supplied, highly favored and greatly blessed. A favorite tactic of the devil today is to create a sense of insecurity, that anything bad can happen to you at any moment. ““Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God: “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.” (Deuteronomy 28:1-3 NKJV) Ephesians 2:4-7 - In God's viewpoint, we are now seated in heaven with Christ. Compared to God's viewpoint we cannot understand many things. We have to take God's word by faith. Faith is not blind, faith is intelligent. Faith is based on superior authority, reality, wisdom and intelligence beyond us. If we trust God's intelligence, we got to trust His word and go by faith. “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:4-7 NKJV) Psalms 92:13 - If you try to obtain something through striving and through your fleshly efforts, it is form of unbelief. However, if you rest, you are honouring God, showing that you trust Him. “Those who are planted in the house of the LORD Shall flourish in the courts of our God.” (Psalms 92:13 NKJV) Luke 4:3-13 - The constant theme of the devil is to leave out the word "beloved". It is counterproductive for the devil to remind Jesus that He is loved by God. Jesus never fought the devil with the spoken word of God, but through the written word of God. To defeat Satan, quote "It is written..." “And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’ ” Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.” And Jesus answered and said to him, “Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ” Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ” And Jesus answered and said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the LORD your God.’ ” Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time.” (Luke 4:3-13 NKJV)
