30 August 2015 - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online - Receive 120% Restoration From God for All Your Losses!

God has the same nature now and forever, but God changes His methods and ways of doing things.

If Israel had received Jesus as their Messiah when He was on earth, Israel would have been ushered into paradise on earth. But alas, they rejected Him.

The devil hates Israel because Israel is God's chosen nation.

Israel was planned by God to be a good advertisement to testify of Him. But if they did not keep His statutes and commandments, they would become a bad advertisement to prove that there is a God.

God loves us but we must also allow ourselves to be loved by God.

Romans 5:19 - We are sinners because of one man's sin - Adam. We are righteous not by our works, but because of one Man's obedience - Jesus.

"For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous." (Romans 5:19 NKJV)

For members of New Creation Church, this is the Year of His Restoration. Restoration can happen in such a way that we don't even recognise that it is restoration.

Jude 1:21 - We must keep ourselves in the love of God. Step into the sunlight of God's love. Believe that God loves you by faith.

"keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life." (Jude 1:21 NKJV)

The devil will always try to make you feel insignificant, like you're just a face in the crowd. God cares about everything in your life, no matter how big or small.

Even as a believer, never think that you are beyond sin. But in God's eyes, you are still righteous in Christ when you fail.

Never judge your standing by your state. Our state changes, but our righteous standing in Christ never changes.

Bitterness is like preparing poison for somebody else to drink, but you drink it yourself instead.

16 August 2015 - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online - Unlock Redemption's Blessings In Your Life

When you believe right you will live right.

When the Lord speaks, it's simple but powerful.

God's grace is heaven's best for man's worst.

The value of something is worth how much someone is willing to pay for it. God sees us as worth the price of His Son.

Only the blood of Jesus can redeem your soul.

Ephesians 1:7-8 - As believers, we HAVE redemption and we HAVE forgiveness already, right now. It is in the present-active tense. We are forgiven not out of, but ACCORDING TO the riches of His grace. God gave us His forgiveness in His wisdom and prudence! God's forgiveness has a powerful, sanctifying effect in our lives.

"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence," (Ephesians 1:7-8 NKJV)

The world is not trying to find a way into sin, they are trying to find a way out. Even if they are enjoying themselves in their sin, they are feeling guilty.

A preacher can't stand in the pulpit if he hates people. If a person has cancer, we hate the cancer, not the person. Likewise, we must hate the sin, not the person.

When you are born-again, you are born-again FOREVER, and you're enjoying eternal life - you will never be thrown into hell.

Jesus used many titles to refer to Himself, but the one He used the most is the phrase "Son of man", because He wants us and the devil to know that He has come to be our Kinsman-Redeemer.

Leviticus 25:25 - God created man to be wealthy. God crowned (To crown in Hebrew is "atar" - A surrounding clothing) man with glory and honor.
Adam forfeited all his wealth and glory by sinning against God. Redeem in Hebrew is "Goel". To redeem means "to buy back".
The one who redeems is called a redeemer. Kinsman-redeemer means "a relative who can redeem". A kinsman-redeemer has to be wealthy, able, and willing.
Jesus came to earth as a Man because He had to be human, our relative, in order to be our Kinsman-Redeemer. Jesus chose to become our Relative!

"‘If one of your brethren becomes poor, and has sold some of his possession, and if his redeeming relative comes to redeem it, then he may redeem what his brother sold." (Leviticus 25:25 NKJV)

Even if a non-believer is financially rich, he is still a poor man who has a lot of money.

God did not have no choice but to send Jesus to be our sacrifice for our sins. God has the choice to wipe us out if He wants to. He did not do that, because He loves us.

II Corinthians 8:9 - Jesus is rich!

"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich." (II Corinthians 8:9 NKJV)

Proverbs 23:11 - Jesus is willing to redeem us.

"For their Redeemer is mighty; He will plead their cause against you." (Proverbs 23:11 NKJV)

Hebrews 7:25 - Jesus is able to redeem us.

"Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them." (Hebrews 7:25 NKJV)

The gospel is all about God's goodness.

Man in the flesh cannot receive the goodness of God. That's why they can't receive the grace of God. Man in his flesh only has hard thoughts about God.

The number one way that the devil makes man leave God's love is by making them think that God is not that good, and that restrictions placed by God is to withhold something good from man.

The goodness of God leads us to repentance.

Matthew 7:21-23 - This is talking about people who are not saved, who never put their trust in Jesus. "in that day" represents the day where Jesus returns to earth as judge in His second coming.
In that day, unbelievers will finally see that Jesus is God and in their panic they will call Him Lord, but they will be too late.

"“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’" (Matthew 7:21-23 NKJV)

Jesus came to earth to give His life as a Lamb, but He is returning as a Lion to exact vengeance upon the antichrist and judge the unbelieving world.

God never made a democracy, He made a theocracy.

Everything in the universe obeys God except for man.

God is not out to kill people - He is out to save people.

John 6:40 - To do the will of the Father means for everyone who sees Jesus to believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior.

"And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”" (John 6:40 NKJV)

I Corinthians 15:10 - It is possible for God's grace towards you to be in vain. He won't force you to act upon that grace that you have received.
When you have the grace gift from God, you will have a desire to minister in that area. If the calling and grace is there and you step into it, the grace will start working.
For employers, access the employees for promotions, increments and bonuses based on their works. Their results produced will show how much grace they stepped into.
Their performance reflects how much grace they are using in their life.

"But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me." (I Corinthians 15:10 NKJV)

"Length of days" doesn't mean "long life", but it means how many things you can accomplish or complete in a day.

Don't confound holiness with righteousness. Holiness means "set apart". The opposite of holiness is "commonness".

John 1:17 - Things can be given from a distance, but came is close and personal.

"For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ." (John 1:17 NKJV)

In the first miracle of Moses, he turned the water into blood, leading to death. Under grace, in the first miracle of Jesus, He turned water into wine, leading to celebration!

You cannot mix Law and grace. You cannot put new wine into old wine skins because you will lose both.

Under the Law, God will visit your sins even in your future generations. Under grace, God has forgiven us and remembers our sins no more!

Jesus brought the Law to its pristine standard, whereas the Pharisees brought it to a manageable standard. Jesus showed the pristine standard of the Law to bring man to the end of himself, so that he would recognise his need for a Savior.

Jesus touched the leper and made him clean. Under Law, the unclean would make the clean, unclean. Under Grace, the clean makes the unclean, clean!

Romans 6:14 - When you are not under Law, sin shall not have dominion over you! You can't be under grace and not be holy.

"For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace." (Romans 6:14 NKJV)

Under Law, you have to repent first before God blesses you. Under grace, God blesses you first and His goodness leads you to repentance.

The Greek word for repentance is "metanoia" which means "change of mind".

II Corinthians 3:9 - The ministry of righteousness exceeds MUCH MORE in glory.

"For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory." (II Corinthians 3:9 NKJV)

The journey of the children of Israel from Egypt to Mount Sinai is a period of God's pure grace. Although they murmured and complained, no one died.

Exodus 19:8-13 - Man presumed on his own strength to obey God and receive His blessings. From this moment forth, God changed His tone. The children of Israel should never have changed covenants. The Law condemns the best of us, whereas Grace saves the worst of us.

"Then all the people answered together and said, “All that the LORD has spoken we will do.” So Moses brought back the words of the people to the LORD. And the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I come to you in the thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and believe you forever.” So Moses told the words of the people to the LORD. Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes. And let them be ready for the third day. For on the third day the LORD will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people. You shall set bounds for the people all around, saying, ‘Take heed to yourselves that you do not go up to the mountain or touch its base. Whoever touches the mountain shall surely be put to death. Not a hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot with an arrow; whether man or beast, he shall not live.’ When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come near the mountain.”" (Exodus 19:8-13 NKJV)

II Corinthians 3:7 - God calls the Ten Commandments the ministry of death. The only ministry engraved on stones is the Ten Commandments. On the Day of Pentecost when God gave the Law, 3000 people died. When the Holy Spirit came on the Day of Pentecost, Peter preached and 3000 people were saved.

"who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away," (II Corinthians 3:6-7 NKJV)

Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online - Grace Revolution Tour at Lakewood Church - Becoming The Disciple Whom Jesus Loved

I John 4:10 - It's not about how much we love God, it's about how much God loves us.

"In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins." (I John 4:10 NKJV)

The Law condemns the best of us, whereas Grace saves the worst of us.

By the Law is the knowledge of sin, not the knowledge of God.

I John 4:19 - Now we love not because we first loved God, it's because He first loved us.

"We love Him because He first loved us." (I John 4:19 NKJV)

Practice the love of God for us, just like the Apostle John who called himself "The disciple whom Jesus loved".

Keep your eyes on God's fixed and unchanging love for us, and you will be settled.

God wants us to be Christ-occupied, not self-occupied.

When you sin, God looks at your sacrificial lamb, not at you. If you are a believer, you have Jesus, the Lamb of God.

The sacrificial lamb's righteousness is transferred to the offer-er (us), and the sins of the offer-er is transferred into the lamb. That's what happened at the cross. All that we deserved fell into Jesus, and we received Jesus's righteousness and all the blessings and favor of God.

Peter's name means "Rock" and it represents The Law. John's name means "Grace". John leaned on Jesus's love for him, whereas Peter boasted of his love for Jesus. Peter failed and denied Jesus thrice. John was the only disciple at the foot of the cross where Jesus hung.

We are to feed on God's love for us, not our love for Him.

30 September 2005 - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermons About Speaking in Tongues - The Speaking Power of the Royal Priesthood

We have kingship in Christ.

Many young people are going in the wrong direction because of church history that is teaching endurance of poverty and suffering, an anemic form of Christianity without power.

People worship money because they don't know God.

Once the words of God has entered your heart, you will see the manifestation of the power of it.

God's ways are simple.

James 1 -Doer of the word means to bridle your tongue.

"For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless." (James 1:23-26 NKJV)

James 2:20-24 - Abraham's corresponding action of faith was speaking his faith.

"But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only." (James 2:20-24 NKJV)

James 2:25-26 - Rahab's corresponding action of faith was speaking her faith.

"Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." (James 2:25-26 NKJV)

James 3:6 - Speaking with the tongue can change your whole course of nature.

"And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell." (James 3:6 NKJV)

Faith is not alive when it's in your heart. Faith is only alive when you speak it.

Romans 10:4-10 - The righteousness of the Law is by doing, whereas the righteousness of faith is by speaking! The word must be in your mouth before it drops into your heart. Believing with the heart and speaking with the mouth leads to "salvation" which is "sozo" in Hebrew. Sozo means safety from danger, healing, wholeness, etc.

"For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.” But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above ) or, “ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:4-10 NKJV)

Genesis 1:1-3 - God did not speak what was, but what He envisioned. This light that God spoke is not sunlight. The sun was only created on the fourth day of creation. When we have trouble in our lives, it is an area of darkness. Speak God's light into that area of darkness.

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. (Genesis 1:1-3 NKJV)

Genesis 2:1-2 - God's work was to believe and to speak.

"Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done." (Genesis 2:1-2 NKJV)

Believers experience negative things because they don't speak positive confessions on a regular basis. If you don't say anything positive or negative, negative things will continue to happen because the natural course of things in this world is negative.

Picture
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. (Genesis 1:1-3 NKJV) God did not speak what was, but what He envisioned. This light that God spoke is not sunlight. The sun was only created on the fourth day of creation. When we have trouble in our lives, it is an area of darkness. Speak God's light into that area of darkness.

Romans 5:17 - God has established us into righteousness so that we can reign as kings in life through Jesus Christ.

"For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)" (Romans 5:17 NKJV)

"For if because of one man's trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God's] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One)." (Romans 5:17 AMP)

Revelations 1:5-6 - We have been made kings and priests - a royal priesthood in Jesus Christ.

"and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen." (Revelation 1:5-6 NKJV)

Speak health and healing to your body on a regular basis in Jesus's name to be healthy.

Ecclesiastes 8:4 - A king speaks and the forces that be executes his word. There is power in a king's words.

"Where the word of a king is, there is power; And who may say to him, “What are you doing?”" (Ecclesiastes 8:4 NKJV)

Deuteronomy 21:5 - Priests are representatives of grace and carriers of good news. By the word of a priest, every controversy and every assault is settled. The devil is not a priest, his words have no power.

"Then the priests, the sons of Levi, shall come near, for the LORD your God has chosen them to minister to Him and to bless in the name of the LORD; by their word every controversy and every assault shall be settled." (Deuteronomy 21:5 NKJV)

As kings and priests, we have a double portion of speaking power.

Genesis 3:1-6 - Adam was standing there with Eve while she and the serpent were speaking, but he kept silent. The king kept silent throughout and did not exercise his power and authority.

"Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ” Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate." (Genesis 3:1-6 NKJV)

Guard your thoughts by not speaking out your negative thoughts. Take God's thoughts by speaking God's words.

I Peter 5:8 - Lions that are hunting their prey keep very silent and move very slowly. The devil roars from afar because he has no teeth. He has no real power over you, he has only skills of deception.

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." (I Peter 5:8 NKJV)

Ruth 3:18 - Ruth did not have to do anything but rest. Boaz completed everything for her after that. As kings we can rest and sit still on our throne, while God concludes our matters for us.

"Then she said, “Sit still, my daughter, until you know how the matter will turn out; for the man will not rest until he has concluded the matter this day.”" (Ruth 3:18 NKJV)

Romans 8:37 - Jesus is the Conqueror. We are more than conquerors, we don't have to do the work of conquering.

"Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." (Romans 8:37 NKJV)

Romans 3:21-22 - Amidst your sin, declare that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. God will help you overcome your addictions through your faith declarations.

"For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (II Corinthians 5:21 NKJV)

Proverbs 10:11 - Once we are made righteous in Christ, our mouths are wells of life. Our words produce life. The unsaved don't have that power in their words. It's what we say about ourselves that has power, not what others say about us.

"The mouth of the righteous is a well of life, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked." (Proverbs 10:11 NKJV)

Picture
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." (I Peter 5:8 NKJV) Lions that are hunting their prey keep very silent and move very slowly. The devil roars from afar because he has no teeth. He has no real power over you, he has only skills of deception.

Proverbs 13:3 - You guard your mouth by praying and speaking in tongues.

"He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction." (Proverbs 13:3 NKJV)

Proverbs 15:4 - Positive words spoken has healing power and produces life.

"A gentle tongue [with its healing power] is a tree of life, but willful contrariness in it breaks down the spirit." (Proverbs 15:4 AMP)

Numbers 11:25 - In the Old Testament, when the Holy Spirit came upon people, they prophesied but did not speak in tongues.

"Then the LORD came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and placed the same upon the seventy elders; and it happened, when the Spirit rested upon them, that they prophesied, although they never did so again." (Numbers 11:25 NKJV)

Acts 10:43-46 - The Holy Spirit loves words about forgiveness of sins, about Jesus, and about grace. Tongues are unique for the dispensation of the New Covenant of grace, and can only be spoken through a righteous spirit. Jesus did not speak in tongues because He does not have the same infirmities as we have.

"To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins.” While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered," (Acts 10:43-46 NKJV)

I Corinthians 14:18-19 - The Corinthian church spoke in tongues all the time, yet Paul spoke in tongues more than all of them. Paul spoke in tongues all the time. By speaking in tongues, we guard our mouths.

"I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all; yet in the church I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I may teach others also, than ten thousand words in a tongue." (I Corinthians 14:18-19 NKJV)

Ephesians 6:17-18 - The Holy Spirit is the sword of the Spirit. The way we wield the sword of the Spirit is by speaking and praying in tongues.

"And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—" (Ephesians 6:17-18 NKJV)

Isaiah 59:14-21 - This is where Paul received the imagery of the Armor of God. When we speak in tongues, the Holy Spirit lifts up a standard against the devil. We are encourage to speak in tongues all the time.

"Justice is turned back, And righteousness stands afar off; For truth is fallen in the street, And equity cannot enter. So truth fails, And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. Then the LORD saw it, and it displeased Him That there was no justice. He saw that there was no man, And wondered that there was no intercessor; Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; And His own righteousness, it sustained Him. For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, And a helmet of salvation on His head; He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, And was clad with zeal as a cloak. According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay, Fury to His adversaries, Recompense to His enemies; The coastlands He will fully repay. So shall they fear The name of the LORD from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him. “The Redeemer will come to Zion, And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,” Says the LORD. “As for Me,” says the LORD, “this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,” says the LORD, “from this time and forevermore.”" (Isaiah 59:14-21 NKJV)

The gift of speaking in tongues is so precious - Even though we don't know what we are declaring when we speak in tongues, God still honors the principle of speaking and the good things that we spoke will come to pass in our lives.

2 August 2015 - Pastor Lawrence Lim Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online - How to Find Strength When You Are Weak

Sanctification is not the work of man, but the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Focus on receiving God's love, and live life knowing that you are God's beloved.

Don't judge God's love based on whether your prayers are answered or not.

God's love is defined by what He did for us at the cross.

I Samuel 30:1-19 - David lost everything and was all alone at Ziklag - if anyone should be disappointed with God, it should be David. We still live in a fallen world which is ruled by the devil, and men are still ruled by sin if they are not believers. Our suffering is not caused by God. Knowing and admitting that we are weak is the first step to receiving strength, but we must take the next step of looking to Jesus for strength. Your enemies or obstacles may seem to be having the upper hand right now, but it is only temporary. The final outcome of your life is victorious!

"Now it happened, when David and his men came to Ziklag, on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the South and Ziklag, attacked Ziklag and burned it with fire, and had taken captive the women and those who were there, from small to great; they did not kill anyone, but carried them away and went their way. So David and his men came to the city, and there it was, burned with fire; and their wives, their sons, and their daughters had been taken captive. Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep. And David’s two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the widow of Nabal the Carmelite, had been taken captive. Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God. Then David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, “Please bring the ephod here to me.” And Abiathar brought the ephod to David. So David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all. ” So David went, he and the six hundred men who were with him, and came to the Brook Besor, where those stayed who were left behind. But David pursued, he and four hundred men; for two hundred stayed behind, who were so weary that they could not cross the Brook Besor. Then they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David; and they gave him bread and he ate, and they let him drink water. And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs and two clusters of raisins. So when he had eaten, his strength came back to him; for he had eaten no bread nor drunk water for three days and three nights. Then David said to him, “To whom do you belong, and where are you from?” And he said, “I am a young man from Egypt, servant of an Amalekite; and my master left me behind, because three days ago I fell sick. We made an invasion of the southern area of the Cherethites, in the territory which belongs to Judah, and of the southern area of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire.” And David said to him, “Can you take me down to this troop?” So he said, “Swear to me by God that you will neither kill me nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will take you down to this troop.” And when he had brought him down, there they were, spread out over all the land, eating and drinking and dancing, because of all the great spoil which they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from the land of Judah. Then David attacked them from twilight until the evening of the next day. Not a man of them escaped, except four hundred young men who rode on camels and fled. So David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away, and David rescued his two wives. And nothing of theirs was lacking, either small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything which they had taken from them; David recovered all." (I Samuel 30:1-19 NKJV)

I Samuel 30:20 - Not only did David recover everything that he lost, but he became a gainer.

"Then David took all the flocks and herds they had driven before those other livestock, and said, “This is David’s spoil.”" (I Samuel 30:20 NKJV)

Don't judge God's love based on whether your prayers are answered or not.God's love is defined by what He did for us at the cross.

Proverbs 6:30-31 - The thief also refers to the devil. This is the Law of Restoration: If the devil has stolen from you as a believer, you will become a gainer. You will get back sevenfold!

"People do not despise a thief If he steals to satisfy himself when he is starving. Yet when he is found, he must restore sevenfold; He may have to give up all the substance of his house." (Proverbs 6:30-31 NKJV)

I Samuel 15:29 - Strength is not in ourselves for we are mere men. We must not look to ourselves for strength, we must look to Jesus for strength. It's not about us, it's about Jesus.

"And also the Strength of Israel will not lie or relent. For He is not a man that He should relent.”" (I Samuel 15:29 NKJV)

The prerequisite for receiving God's power - He gives power to those who are weak.

In and of ourselves, we are completely weak and useless in every sense.

I Samuel 21:10-15 - David wrote Psalms 34 during this low time in his life, not while everything was going well in his life.

"Then David arose and fled that day from before Saul, and went to Achish the king of Gath. And the servants of Achish said to him, “ Is this not David the king of the land? Did they not sing of him to one another in dances, saying: ‘Saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands’?” Now David took these words to heart, and was very much afraid of Achish the king of Gath. So he changed his behavior before them, pretended madness in their hands, scratched on the doors of the gate, and let his saliva fall down on his beard. Then Achish said to his servants, “Look, you see the man is insane. Why have you brought him to me? Have I need of madmen, that you have brought this fellow to play the madman in my presence? Shall this fellow come into my house?”" (I Samuel 21:10-15 NKJV)

Psalms 34:1-4 - God is not the One responsible for our pains. He is the One who will turn things around for our good. David could praise the Lord because he had a revelation of how good God is! God hears our every cry.

"I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together. I sought the LORD, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears." (Psalms 34:1-4 NKJV)

Hebrews 13:5 - God has promised never to leave us nor forsake us!

"Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”" (Hebrews 13:5 NKJV)

Psalm 23:4 - The valley represents the low points in our lives. We will always walk THROUGH the low points of our lives - we will not remain in them.

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me." (Psalms 23:4 NKJV)

Song of Solomon 2:1 - Even in your valley experiences, God is with you in the valley. He is the Lily of the valleys, an abiding fragrance and beautiful amidst our trials.

"I am the rose of Sharon, And the lily of the valleys." (Song of Solomon 2:1 NKJV)

What About? Answering Difficult Questions About The Bible (Volume 2) DVD Teaching Series by Pastor Joseph Prince - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - Why Are There Calamities In This World If God Is Love?

Genesis 1 - God made everything and said that it was good. Man was the only thing created that was in His image, and He called it very good. God made man last, on the sixth day of creation. God wanted man to enjoy His finished work, and so that man could not take glory for any of the creations.

The devil doesn't give us needs, he perverts our needs. Needs show that there is a gift out there that is created by God to meet that need.

Adam was the federal head of the earth before he sinned. After He sinned, all creation fell. Everything began to decay.

The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil represents the Law.

If God made everything good and gave man free choice, it would be a false free choice. The Tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil is the option given to man to provide an option, to provide true free will.

Evolution presupposes everything going from a lower level to a higher level, but everything in the universe decays, and if left alone goes from a higher level to a lower level.

Psalms 115:16 - The earth was given by God as a gift to man. However, Adam gave his authority over the earth to the devil. God can't take the earth back from the devil immediately when Adam sinned because He is a Just God.

"The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD’s; But the earth He has given to the children of men." (Psalms 115:16 NKJV)

Death was never in God's plan for mankind. Death can be traced back to the fall of man when Adam sinned.

Genesis 3:15 - Jesus is the woman's "Seed" who will bruise the devil's head. Usually the seed is provided by a man. This points also to the virgin birth of Jesus the Messiah.

"And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”" (Genesis 3:15 NKJV)

Jesus is the woman's "Seed" who will bruise the devil's head. Usually the seed is provided by a man. This points also to the virgin birth of Jesus the Messiah.

The devil is not all-knowing. He must use the sense realm to observe. He instigated Cain to kill Abel.

Genesis 6:1-8 - Angels can take human form but it is illegal. The fallen angels married women on earth to pollute the human seed to prevent the promised Messiah from being born. This resulted in half-human, half-angel giants that were born on the earth.

"Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose. And the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the LORD said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD." (Genesis 6:1-8 NKJV)

Jude 1:6-7 and II Peter 2:4 - The fallen angels who committed the sexual sins were thrown into Tartarus (hell) - bound in chains in darkness, never to be allowed to perform this sin again.

"And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire." (Jude 1:6-7 NKJV)

"For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;" (II Peter 2:4 NKJV)

God flooded the earth to destroy all the polluted seed, and He found a family with pure seed - Noah's family.

God tilted the earth to congeal all the flood waters. Only after the Flood were there four seasons on earth. After the Flood, people's lifespans were greatly shortened.

The devil tried to curse Ham through Noah to stop the Messiah from being born. All present-day people come from three men: Japheth are all the Europeans, Shem are all the middle easterners and Asians. Ham are all the Africans.

Out of Shem came the Jewish people - Abraham was a Semite. Abraham found grace with God and God cut a covenant with Abraham. God wanted a covenant because He needs a way to help man legally.

Marriage is not a piece of paper, it's a holy covenant. In marriage, troubles are halved, and joy is doubled.

The only way to break a covenant is by death.

When we pray, we are activating our covenant with God.

The devil wanted to stop the Promised Messiah from being born by trying to make Sarah barren and by defiling the seed by trying to make Abimelech take Sarah into his harem.

Genesis 12:2-3 - Jesus told us to bless those who curse us because those who come against us will be cursed because of the Abrahamic Covenant.

"I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”" (Genesis 12:2-3 NKJV)

Jacob had twelve sons, and when Joseph exhibited special gifts of receiving dreams from God and had special favor from Jacob, the devil tried to kill Joseph.

Instead of dying, Joseph had the favor of God with him and he became the Prime Minister of Egypt.

When somebody comes against you, the devil is behind it all and he is so afraid of you.

I Peter 1:10-12 - Even in the Old Testament, the prophets were looking forward to see our generation - whereby the grace and favor of God would come upon all believers. Angels are facinated by the salvation provided to man through the blood of Christ.
God did not send His Son to save the fallen angels who sinned, He sent His Son to save us.

"Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things which angels desire to look into." (I Peter 1:10-12 NKJV)

The devil cannot read our minds. Don't speak words that make him think he's winning. Keep God's praise in your mouth.

The devil tried to prevent the Messiah from being born by making Pharaoh command the killing of all Hebrew babies.

When the devil saw David anointed by Samuel as king of Israel, and that he killed Goliath the giant, he sent spears after David and David was hunted by King Saul. Again, the devil failed to stop the Promised Messiah from being born.

2 Chronicles 22:10-12 - Athaliah is the daughter of the wicked couple - King Ahab and Jezebel the prophetess. All the royal heirs of Judah were killed except for Joash who was hidden from the devil. Again the devil failed to prevent the Messiah's lineage from ending.

"Now when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal heirs of the house of Judah. But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him away from among the king’s sons who were being murdered, and put him and his nurse in a bedroom. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of King Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest (for she was the sister of Ahaziah), hid him from Athaliah so that she did not kill him. And he was hidden with them in the house of God for six years, while Athaliah reigned over the land." (II Chronicles 22:10-12 NKJV)

Angels can take human form but it is illegal. The fallen angels married women on earth to pollute the human seed to prevent the promised Messiah from being born. This resulted in half-human, half-angel giants that were born on the earth. The fallen angels who committed the sexual sins were thrown into Tartarus (hell) - bound in chains in darkness, never to be allowed to perform this sin again.

The devil used the prophecies of the Coming Messiah to locate where and when Jesus would be born. He used King Herod to try to exterminate Jesus by ordering all Hebrew children below the age of two in Bethlehem to be killed, and he failed again. The devil never expected Jesus to be born in a smelly, humble manger.

Romans 5:15-17 - This is the purpose for all the human drama throughout the Bible - God wants to give us these gifts to allow us to reign in life! It's about making life reign, and not death. "Receive" is a present active participle which means that we have to keep on receiving abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness.

"But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification. For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)" (Romans 5:15-17 NKJV)

Romans 8:19-21 - The earth will be healed if the people of earth are healed. All creation could talk in the beginning. All creation are now fallen and they are eagerly waiting for the revealing of the sons of God. They are groaning in pain and waiting for us believers to possess our sonship.

"For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God." (Romans 8:19-21 NKJV)

Romans 8:15 - Many churches still don't dare to call God "Abba, Father". We should step into our role of sonship!

"For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”" (Romans 8:15 NKJV)
