28 June 2015 - Pastor Lian Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online - How to Stay Young and Be Free from Shame!

We love because He first loved us.

Joshua 14:10-13 - Caleb stayed young despite him being eighty-five years old.

"And now, behold, the LORD has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the LORD spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the LORD spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the LORD will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the LORD said.” And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance." (Joshua 14:10-13 NKJV)

Fear, condemnation, doubt, and shame wrinkles our souls, and weakens our hearts and minds.

Picture
When faced with a situation, do you see the big problem, or do you see a big God? Caleb chose to see His big God.

Numbers 13:30-33, 14:1-2,8-9 - We will stay young when we know that the Lord delights in us. We will not shrink when faced with a challenge.

"Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.” But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.” And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. There we saw the giants ( the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”

"So all the congregation lifted up their voices and cried, and the people wept that night. And all the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, “If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness! ... If the LORD delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.’ Only do not rebel against the LORD, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the LORD is with us. Do not fear them.”" (Numbers 14:1-2, 8-9 NKJV)

Number 14:24 - Caleb had a spirit of faith. When we follow the Lord, we will stay young. Following the Lord means practicing the presence of the Lord. Emmanuel - God with us.

"But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it." (Numbers 14:24 NKJV)

Be brave and have the faith take you can take the hill. We are a generation of believers that are meant for mighty exploits.

Acts 4:13 - We are different from the world because we have been with Jesus. We are not over the hill, but we will take the hill.

"Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus." (Acts 4:13 NKJV)

In Christ, you may have failed, but you're not a failure. You may have lost a few skirmishes in life, but you're not a loser.

Picture
Peter and John were untrained and uneducated men, but because they had spent time with Jesus, the world could perceive the difference in them. When we spend time in God's presence, the world will see the positive transformation in us!

Shame can only be removed by the blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus bore all our shame at the cross.

The devil will tell you that you cannot walk with your head held high unless you already see your breakthrough. That is a lie! You already have your miracle. Just keep walking until it manifests.

Isaiah 61:7 - This year we will have double honor for our shame.

"Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs." (Isaiah 61:7 NKJV)

Shame prevents you from walking under an open heaven.

John 21:15-17 - The Lord doesn't want us to bury our shame. The Lord wants us to know what He has done with our shame! Whatever extent of love we have for God, He still loves and values us. God wants us to know that like Peter, we are perfectly restored.

"So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.” He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep." (John 21:15-17 NKJV)

If we fall into sin, grace will superabound in that area until we are able to overcome that sin.

Even when we are faithless, God is always faithful towards us.

Picture
Just like how Jesus has perfectly restored Peter out of his shame and given him double honor, Jesus has perfectly restored us too! We are completely forgiven of all our sins and blessings crown our head!

7 June 2015 - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online - Experience a Victorious Life by Knowing The Good Shepherd

John 10:7-11 - Without the revelation that God is our Good Shepherd, we are exposed to the devil who steals, kills and destroys.
One of the greatest ways that the devil masquerades himself is as a religious teacher who teaches false doctrine. Fearfulness of God is from the devil.

"Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep." (John 10:7-11 NKJV)

III John 1:2-4 - This is God's will for us! We have to actively pray for health. "Walk in the truth" means believing in the gospel of grace.

"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth." (III John 1:2-4 NKJV)

Galatians 2:11-14 - Paul rebuked Peter for not walking in the truth of the gospel.

"Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed; for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy. But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, “If you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles and not as the Jews, why do you compel Gentiles to live as Jews?" (Galatians 2:11-14 NKJV)

"But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?" (Galatians 2:14 KJV)

The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil exists because there has to be something evil to give man true free will. If there was nothing evil, man's free will would just be a mirage.

Nothing grows old, and nothing dies in heaven. Our Heavenly Father is forever young.

Isaiah 53:5-6 - The Law demands stripe for stripe, tooth for tooth. This is grace - that by His stripes we are healed. This healing is physical healing.
God hates death and disease. At the cross, Jesus bore our sins and our diseases.

"But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all." (Isaiah 53:5-6 NKJV)

I Peter 2:24-25 - The day the church believes that God is its Shepherd, its days of sickness is over. We must know that our Good Shepherd is taking care of all our needs.

"who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness-- by whose stripes you were healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls." (I Peter 2:24-25 NKJV)
