8 October 2017 - Dare to Live for the Glory of God - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online

1200 souls were saved at Holy Spirit Night Conference in Germany where Pastor Prince preached at!

It’s important for us to know our Church history:
Martin Luther was a German monk of the Augustinian Order.
He knew the Hebrew language.
He saw that people were putting money into the church coffers to provide relief for their loved ones who were in purgatory -
That didn’t seem right to him because they didn’t have to repent, but the money could do the repenting for them.
Martin Luther nailed the 95 Theses on the door of the church.
People circulated it by print and others labeled him as a heretic and wanted to kill him. There was a bounty on his head.
A wealthy person kidnapped Martin Luther and kept him safe in a castle for 10 months.
He translated the German Bible while he was there.
In 1517, the Reformation started by his books circulated in print, not by him running around ragged.

Now our equivalent of nailing an argument on the church door is posting on social media.
We should use social media for the glory of Jesus, and not just sit back and let the devil do his thing.

Martin Luther felt trapped as there was no way he could confess all his individual sins and be free from sin. He felt that he would surely be damned to hell.

He found out that the word repentance in Greek “metanoia” doesn’t mean right doing (the church at that time believed in penance), but a change of mind - Not hands, but heart.

A good man doesn’t do good works to earn or prove anything.
He does good works because that’s who he is. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit.

Martin Luther believed that he was visited by Satan himself in the room of the castle he was hiding in.
Satan taunted him saying: “Who do you think you are that you should be wiser than others?”

To the young people: You are a prince or princess in Christ. When you set your destiny and goal in life, make sure you’re doing it for the Lord’s glory. Stop thinking you have many years to go and you can afford to waste your time and try this and that without really thinking about your life. That’s an immature way to think. Don’t just try to fit in and be like others, afraid to stand out. Dare to be different! Jesus’ disciples were all young when He was on earth. Jesus was young too. (Art by Akiane Kramarik)

Dare to be different, live life for God's glory!

Galatians 3:5-12 - We receive miracles by the hearing of faith, not by the works of the Law.
Grace is not an afterthought that God came up with because the Law didn’t work. Grace came first!
Jesus came in the flesh - He is both 100% God and 100% Man.
We are blessed with Abraham - Abraham was a very blessed man in many areas of his life.
You cannot keep the Law as a rule of life - anyone who takes the position of the Law in under the curse - you cannot try to deserve or earn your blessings or righteousness.
The Law is not a rule of life - Christ is! The Law doesn’t teach you to love your spouse, whereas Christ gives you the love for your spouse.

“Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?— just as Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed.” So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.” But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.” Yet the law is not of faith, but “the man who does them shall live by them.”” (Galatians 3:5-12 NKJV)

Love is not a feeling - it is a decision. If you blame your spouse for the state of your marriage, then you are still seeing yourself as under the Law.
Pray for the Lord to turn the water into wine in your marriage.

Romans 4:13-15 - The word “world” in Greek is “cosmos” which means the world’s advantages, riches, benefits etc.
God wants to bless us with these so that we can be a blessing.
We find our all and security in Christ.
Do you want a job or possession to impress other people or fill some insecurity in you?
To the young people: You are a prince or princess in Christ. When you set your destiny and goal in life, make sure you’re doing it for the Lord’s glory.
Stop thinking you have many years to go and you can afford to waste your time and try this and that without really thinking about your life.
That’s an immature way to think.
Don’t just try to fit in and be like others, afraid to stand out. Dare to be different!
Jesus’ disciples were all young when He was on earth. Jesus was young too.
Peter paid the half shekel as his temple tax which means that he was in his early twenties.
John’s mother asked Jesus in front of John for him and his brother to be seated at the left and right of Jesus in His kingdom.
To the elders: The young people are crying out for your leadership.
Don’t declare that you’re getting old or have a complaining spirit. You don’t have to ‘act your age’ or grow old.
Joshua and Caleb had faith in the Lord that He would give the children of Israel the promised land whereas the others didn’t believe.
God waited for the old generation of the children of Israel in the wilderness to die first - those who were working slaves in Egypt who had a slave-mentality, before letting the younger generation who never felt the whip on their backs, who saw the Lord part the Red Sea for them, who never had a slave mentality, enter the promised land.

“For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect, because the law brings about wrath; for where there is no law there is no transgression.” (Romans 4:13-15 NKJV)

Be the best at what God calls you to do - stay at where you're planted.

Hudson Taylor was just a youth when he went to China as a missionary to preach the gospel. What he sparked off back then is still progressing today.
David was about sixteen or seventeen years old when he defeated Goliath.
You’re never too young to be used by God.
Don’t compare your life with other people. Stop copying or trying to do what others are doing. Just follow Jesus.

Parents please don’t treat your children as immature. Additionally, your children also need your affirmation and leadership.

God can use young people and He wants you to affirm your children.

Mark 10:13-16 - The parents just wanted Jesus to touch their children because they knew that He had power and blessing.
But Jesus did more than that: He took the children up in their arms and blessed them!
Jesus always does exceedingly, abundantly, above and beyond what we can think or imagine.
Jesus is a real Superhero. Those actors in Hollywood are not real superheroes.

“Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.” (Mark 10:13-16 NKJV)

Don’t wait until a certain point in the future before you’re going to enjoy your life and be happy.
Don’t waste the time that you have now.

Love your children. Even if they stray away, they will come back when they realize that their friends are immature.
Don’t hold on to them too tightly because that will stifle them.

Daniel 1:8-20 - Daniel was only fifteen years old when he was brought to Babylon after captivity from Jerusalem.
You don’t have to do what your friends are doing. God will make sure that you look better than them!
Dare to be different from your friends - you don’t have to conform. They will secretly admire you for daring to be different.
If they say that you think you’re better than them, just smile (beam) and don’t fight back.

“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Now God had brought Daniel into the favor and goodwill of the chief of the eunuchs. And the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, “I fear my lord the king, who has appointed your food and drink. For why should he see your faces looking worse than the young men who are your age? Then you would endanger my head before the king.” So Daniel said to the steward whom the chief of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, “Please test your servants for ten days, and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then let our appearance be examined before you, and the appearance of the young men who eat the portion of the king’s delicacies; and as you see fit, so deal with your servants.” So he consented with them in this matter, and tested them ten days. And at the end of ten days their features appeared better and fatter in flesh than all the young men who ate the portion of the king’s delicacies. Thus the steward took away their portion of delicacies and the wine that they were to drink, and gave them vegetables. As for these four young men, God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. Now at the end of the days, when the king had said that they should be brought in, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. Then the king interviewed them, and among them all none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah; therefore they served before the king. And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm.” (Daniel 1:8-20 NKJV)

When the soldiers and Judas came to capture Jesus, Jesus said “I AM” and all the soldiers fell.
Jesus was not murdered. He laid down His life.
He positioned His head in a restful way before dismissing His spirit.
Jesus took up His life and raised Himself back to life again!
He’s a true Superhero that we can talk to in our room and wherever we are.

We are no longer identified with the First Adam, but with the Last Adam (Jesus).
God measures us today by the Man at His right hand (Jesus).
God the Father and Jesus are both young in heaven.
When you follow Jesus, you are following a success and people will be drawn to you and be inspired by you.

Psalm 144:12-15 - Confess these family blessings for yourself.

“That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; That our daughters may be as pillars, Sculptured in palace style; That our barns may be full, Supplying all kinds of produce; That our sheep may bring forth thousands And ten thousands in our fields; That our oxen may be well laden; That there be no breaking in or going out; That there be no outcry in our streets. Happy are the people who are in such a state; Happy are the people whose God is the LORD!” (Psalms 144:12-15 NKJV)
