20 August 2017 - How to Finally Get Your Long-Awaited Healing - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online

The imagery of shepherd and flock in the Bible promotes healing.
When a pastor sees the congregation as the Good Shepherd's flock, they receive healing.
The number one imagery of Jesus in the Bible is as a Good Shepherd.

Don't find fault with people who fall sick. Even a fit person can get sick.
See sick people as children who have fallen into a pit. The priority is to get them out.
"Pit" has the idea of an enemy who has set up a trap.
Sickness comes because of a spiritual attack.

I Peter 2:24-25 - The emphasis is not on the work of healing but on the Person of Jesus - "Who his own self... in his own body..."
The Holy Spirit emphasizes the Person because the benefits lie with Jesus.
You want to experience the benefits of the finished work? Go to Jesus!
When you believe that you are righteous, the promise of "by whose stripes ye were healed" is yours.
The word "stripes" here should be translated as "stripe" (the Greek uses the singular tense) because there was not even a sliver of skin left on Jesus' back.
When you receive Jesus' skin by faith, you receive His radiance, complexion and healing.

“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.” (1 Peter 2:24-25 KJV)

Matthew 8:17 - Again the focus is on Jesus - "He Himself took..."

“that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”” (Matthew 8:17 NKJV)

Singing to and praising the Lord doesn't benefit Him.
It is so that we can magnify Him in our eyes, to have the faith to believe in His promises.

The Right Posture to Receive Healing

Mark 16:5 - There is no curse in heaven - God the Father, Jesus and the holy angels are all young.

“And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.” (Mark 16:5 NKJV)

Psalm 105:37 - About 2-3 million children of Israel went out from Egypt that day and NONE were feeble.
They had no problems with walking out of Egypt into the wilderness.
These were people who were subject to slavery and did back-breaking labor.
They did not have a good diet. They had little to eat.
They experienced supernatural healing and renewal of health!
The night before this, they partook of roasted lamb which is a shadow of Holy Communion which is the substance.
We have the substance today - how much more should we be healthy!

“He also brought them out with silver and gold, And there was none feeble among His tribes.” (Psalms 105:37 NKJV)

Exodus 12:8-11 - Some people present Jesus raw: They only see Him as a great example. Don't water down Jesus.
When the children of Israel are the roasted lamb's legs, they received the health and strength of Jesus' legs in their own bodies.
Have an attitude that when you partake of communion, you are getting your deliverance now - you are getting out of the Egyptian disease!

“Then they shall eat the flesh on that night; roasted in fire, with unleavened bread and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. Do not eat it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roasted in fire—its head with its legs and its entrails. You shall let none of it remain until morning, and what remains of it until morning you shall burn with fire. And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the LORD’s Passover.” (Exodus 12:8-11 NKJV)

Psalm 13:1-5 - It's okay to ask and be honest to God with your feelings, but don't stay there.
The word "mercy" here is "hesed" in Hebrew which means grace. The word "salvation" here is "Yeshua" in Hebrew which is Jesus' name.

When you trust in God's grace and in Jesus, you're in the right posture to receive your breakthrough.
Whichever area David told God about in the Psalms, he had victory.
The only area he didn't tell God about is his sexual life and in that area he didn't have victory.

“How long, O LORD? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me? Consider and hear me, O LORD my God; Enlighten my eyes, Lest I sleep the sleep of death; Lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed against him”; Lest those who trouble me rejoice when I am moved. But I have trusted in Your mercy; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.” (Psalms 13:1-5 NKJV)

Psalm 35:17 -18 - While we are complaining, Jesus our High Priest is praising.

“Lord, how long will You look on? Rescue me from their destructions, My precious life from the lions. I will give You thanks in the great assembly; I will praise You among many people.” (Psalms 35:17-18 NKJV)

Hebrews 2:11-12 - Jesus calls us brothers.

“For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying: “I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You.”” (Hebrews 2:11-12 NKJV)

These were people who were subject to slavery and did back-breaking labor. They did not have a good diet. They had little to eat. They experienced supernatural healing and renewal of health!

Sometimes God Wants to Work in Us First

Exodus 5:1-2 - Pharaoh's heart was proud and he did not let Israel go.

“Afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, “Thus says the LORD God of Israel: ‘Let My people go, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness.’ ” And Pharaoh said, “Who is the LORD, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, nor will I let Israel go.”” (Exodus 5:1-2 NKJV)

Exodus 5:6-9 - Pharaoh represents the devil. The devil is a hard taskmaster.

“So the same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters of the people and their officers, saying, “You shall no longer give the people straw to make brick as before. Let them go and gather straw for themselves. And you shall lay on them the quota of bricks which they made before. You shall not reduce it. For they are idle; therefore they cry out, saying, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’ Let more work be laid on the men, that they may labor in it, and let them not regard false words.”” (Exodus 5:6-9 NKJV)

Exodus 5:19-23 - Sometimes when we start partaking of Holy Communion, we fall sick.
Such moments happen sometimes before the victory. They are spiritual counter attacks by the devil.
Go back to the Lord and ask Him for advice.

“And the officers of the children of Israel saw that they were in trouble after it was said, “You shall not reduce any bricks from your daily quota.” Then, as they came out from Pharaoh, they met Moses and Aaron who stood there to meet them. And they said to them, “Let the LORD look on you and judge, because you have made us abhorrent in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us.” So Moses returned to the LORD and said, “Lord, why have You brought trouble on this people? Why is it You have sent me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people; neither have You delivered Your people at all.”” (Exodus 5:19-23 NKJV)

Exodus 5:23-6:1 - Your healing is always going to be there.
Sometimes before that happens, God is dealing with you and with your enemy.
Of all the Ten Plagues that God afflicted Egypt with, all of them are in response to an idol that Egypt worshipped -
They worshipped the sun, and God blotted out the sun.
They worshipped frogs, and God caused all the frogs to flood the city, etc.
God wanted to show that He is the true God.

“For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people; neither have You delivered Your people at all.“ Then the LORD said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh. For with a strong hand he will let them go, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land.”” (Exodus 5:23-6:1 NKJV)

Nothing ritualistic is effective in the kingdom of God.

Genesis 14:18-20 - King means that one has mastered that realm and that kingdom is his.
Melchizedek is the pre-incarnation of Jesus.
Jesus is the King of Completeness, Peace and Safety.
The bread and wine is the Holy Communion.
Abraham gave a tithe and this was before the Law was given.

“Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. And he blessed him and said: “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave him a tithe of all.” (Genesis 14:18-20 NKJV)

Genesis 15:1 - If you take Holy Communion you will still be attacked, but God is your protection.
The words "exceedingly great" are very big words.
The word "reward" is the same as the word used for "salary" in Greek.

“After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”” (Genesis 15:1 NKJV)

Genesis 21:1-2 - Abraham was 83 years old when Melchizedek brought him bread and wine.
Only when Abraham was 99 years old did Sarah get pregnant.
That's 16 years apart!

“And the LORD visited Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did for Sarah as He had spoken. For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.” (Genesis 21:1-2 NKJV)

Hebrews 6:11-12 - "Patience" here means endurance. Sometimes the manifestation is not immediate, but persevere!

“And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” (Hebrews 6:11-12 NKJV)

Exodus 23:25-26 - This is the promise of God.

““So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.” (Exodus 23:25-26 NKJV)

When the devil attacks you in your physical health, it is because he doesn't want you to serve the Lord.
Step out in faith, and persevere in serving the Lord even while experiencing the symptoms.

It is possible for someone to be in full-time ministry and not be serving the Lord.
They could be serving their own ego, pocketbook, for the adulation of the people, etc.
No one knows who is serving the Lord, except the Lord.

Exodus 23:29-30 - God drives out our enemies (sickness and diseases) little by little because He wants to develop us and make us strong.

“I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you. Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased, and you inherit the land.” (Exodus 23:29-30 NKJV)

Of all the Ten Plagues that God afflicted Egypt with, all of them are in response to an idol that Egypt worshipped - They worshipped the sun, and God blotted out the sun. They worshipped frogs, and God caused all the frogs to flood the city, etc. God wanted to show that He is the true God.

These sermon notes are independently-compiled by me, and I'm just a loyal and regular attendee of the the church's Sunday services, and I feel led to take detailed personal sermon notes of Pastor Prince's anointed messages to share them with the world, which desperately needs the true word of God and the original gospel of grace.

Hi Milton,

I really love your blog man. I'm from the states and I LOVE Pastor Prince and have listened and read a ton of his material. The true gospel of grace has really set me free. I do have a question on healing that I was hoping you could maybe shed some light on by your own experiences or maybe what you've heard Pastor Prince say. In the New Covenant healing 'seems' to almost always be a process where it can take quite a long time for the manifestation. But when I read the gospels I never see Jesus delaying healing to anyone or making people wait for any reason. On top of that it seems like the manifestation is almost always instant or at most a few days. As New Covenant believers where healing isn't just a promise, it's already been paid for just like our sins why does it 'seem' like receiving healing now isn't as easy? Is it simply because back then Jesus was there in the flesh to touch? Anyways, this is a genuine question; something I can't seem to quite figure out when seeing how Jesus healed in the gospels. Thanks again for you wonderful blog my friend. Blessings to you and your family.

Hi Charles, I believe that it’s because back then when Jesus was walking on earth, His fame was spread far and wide among the multitudes and it was easier to have faith in His healing power, especially since He was there in person.

Today, the challenge is that we can’t see Him face to face, and many believers have the wrong believing that they have to earn their healing by doing good works or by having enough faith of their own, making it into another form of works.

What believers need today is to know that it’s not based on our faith, but who we’re having faith in.
Believe that it’s all of Jesus and none of our own to supply.
Just receive without the need to pay for anything or trying to deserve it.

Like you said, by Jesus’ stripes our healing is already paid for and it is a gift. When believers truly know that in their hearts and declare it, I believe the healing will flow and manifest.

Shalom,
Milton

Thanks for your reply Milton. I totally agree that his actual presence in the flesh made faith come probably easier to come by. I guess that's why Holy Communion is such an amazing way to receive healing since it gives the believer a 'point of contact'. Now that's assuming it's being done correctly which my own church unfortunately doesn't do. Thank God I learned the truth of it from Pastor Prince and now I do it with my family daily. What a blessing. Thanks again Milton.

Shalom,
Charles

Amen, we partake of Holy Communion daily as a family too. It is such a blessing! I love how you describe it as a point of contact. I pray that you and your family be filled with His Hesed Wisdom this year! :)
