25 February 2018 - Your Disqualifications are your Qualifications in Christ - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online

Church is not a building - it is a gathering of God’s people to celebrate the Lord Jesus Christ who is altogether lovely.

In the kingdom of God when you lose your usefulness, capacity to produce, or when you go through a valley/ dark time, the Lord Jesus never leaves us.

Psalm 23 - The beginning of Psalm 23 is written like as if King David is talking to you.
When the valley of the shadow of death is mentioned, he changes to talk to God directly.
In your dark times, it’s time for you to talk to God.
You will walk through your challenges, you won’t stay there.
God prepares a table before you in the presence of your enemies.
Even when the problems are still present, God wants you to feed on His word.

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.” (Psalms 23:1-6 NKJV)

In the day of Elijah’s faith, ravens fed him. In the day of his discouragement, angels fed him.

Be glad that God doesn’t always answer your prayers. Elijah asked God to let him die, but Elijah has not died, even till now.
He was carried up to heaven in a chariot of fire and never experienced death.

Luke 10:36-42 - The secret of loving your neighbor is explained in the following story of Mary and Martha.
You can’t love your neighbor if you don’t sit at Jesus’ feet to receive from Him first.
Grace is not about what you can do. Just receive from God. There’s nothing you can do for God on your own.
The kingdom of God is the only kingdom that asks you to receive without having to give anything of your self-efforts.
The parables of Jesus are all about how the last, least and lost can get God’s favor.

“So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?” And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.” Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”” (Luke 10:36-42 NKJV)

Matthew 12:20 - A reed is common in Israel. A bruised reed is useless. Even though we are incapable in and of ourselves, Jesus will not abandon us.
A smoking flax is like a candle wick that is burning out. Even when we are burning out, Jesus will not throw us away.

“A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench, Till He sends forth justice to victory;” (Matthew 12:20 NKJV)

Isaiah 42:3 - Matthew 12:20 says “victory” instead of “truth”. When you listen to the truth (the gospel of Grace) you will get your victory.

“A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth.” (Isaiah 42:3 NKJV)

God uses the weak things of the world to confound the mighty

I Corinthians 1:20-30 - The European nations today are still seeking worldly wisdom and intellect.
The Jews are still seeking the supernatural and miraculous in things of the world.
When the Jews see Jesus on the cross, bleeding and dead, they don’t see the power of God there - it is a stumbling block to them.
God uses the things that are not to bring to nothing the things that are.
Example: Can you see your words? No. But they can destroy the sickness in your body.
The gentle tongue breaks the bone. Some young preachers think that preaching loudly and dramatically equals anointing. No, volume doesn’t mean power. God speaks with the still-soft voice.
We can boast in one thing, that we are in Christ.

“Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence. But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption—” (I Corinthians 1:20-30 NKJV)

Mercy cannot be exercised at the expense of righteousness.
How can God bring sinful man into His presence without compromising on His righteousness?
The devil never expected that through the cross, it would be possible.

Jesus came as a baby. The weak things of the world put to nought the mighty.
Even though Jesus is God, He confined Himself to time (which He created) and died within the confines of time.
Jesus who is the eternal God outside of time, died so that all the sins of the world from the beginning of time all the way to the end of time would be paid for.
Jesus' value is worth much more than countless billions of people put together.
How could Jesus heal and bless people before He died on the cross?
It’s like a credit card payment - credit card is not a real payment, but the real payment is made later on.
When Jesus told the woman caught in adultery to “go and sin no more”, it’s like He was saying to God: “Put that on My tab.”
Today all our blessings are already paid for by Jesus at the cross.
Example: If you saw that in your bank account suddenly has $1 million added to it, the first thing you will probably think is “Is it legal (righteous)?”
Then you call the bank and they reply “Yes someone transferred $1 million to you”.
Now that you know the money is righteously yours, you can celebrate and enjoy it.

God’s righteousness demands a believer’s healing and blessings today because it is already righteously paid for at the cross.
The devil was once a roaring lion, but now has been made a whimpering, soft cat. His accusations have no more power over us if we don’t receive it.
Today we are no longer under the claims of God. We are under the provisions of God.

At the cross, the enemy is silence, the Law is magnified and God’s righteousness is upheld. That’s why Jesus cried “Finished!”.

Romans 8:26 - It’s not whether you pray hard or pray soft - it’s about who you pray to.
Sometimes the problem is that we pray too properly: praying for the sake of impressing the people next to us.
The Greek word for “groanings” “stenamos” means groaning.
Even a groan will reach God’s throne. When you groan to God, God comes with blessings in His hands for you.

“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” (Romans 8:26 NKJV)

Exodus 2:23-25 - God was just waiting for the children of Israel to do this - Their groaning activated the covenant they had with God.

“Now it happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt died. Then the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry came up to God because of the bondage. So God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God acknowledged them.” (Exodus 2:23-25 NKJV)

Mark 7:34-35 - Jesus prayed with a groan too. The word “sigh” here is “stenazo” in Greek which means groan.
All of Jesus’ powerful prayers are very short.
Today we don’t have to make people demon-conscious by telling them that they need to know the demon’s name in order to cast it out.
Just pray a short prayer for deliverance. Maybe we complicate things too much.

“Then, looking up to heaven, He sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.” Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly.” (Mark 7:34-35 NKJV)

Treat women as though they’re really weak, even though some women are really strong. It’s time for men to be really masculine and it’s time for women to be really feminine.

When God uses our disqualifications as our qualifications before Him, no flesh can glory in His presence

Judges 4 - God uses the weak things of the world to confound the mighty. A weak woman destroyed the mighty commander.

“And she would sit under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the mountains of Ephraim. And the children of Israel came up to her for judgment. Then she sent and called for Barak the son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali, and said to him, “Has not the LORD God of Israel commanded, ‘Go and deploy troops at Mount Tabor; take with you ten thousand men of the sons of Naphtali and of the sons of Zebulun; and against you I will deploy Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude at the River Kishon; and I will deliver him into your hand’?” And Barak said to her, “If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go!” So she said, “I will surely go with you; nevertheless there will be no glory for you in the journey you are taking, for the LORD will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.” Then Deborah arose and went with Barak to Kedesh. And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; he went up with ten thousand men under his command, and Deborah went up with him.
However, Sisera had fled away on foot to the tent of Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite; for there was peace between Jabin king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite. And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said to him, “Turn aside, my lord, turn aside to me; do not fear.” And when he had turned aside with her into the tent, she covered him with a blanket. Then he said to her, “Please give me a little water to drink, for I am thirsty.” So she opened a jug of milk, gave him a drink, and covered him. And he said to her, “Stand at the door of the tent, and if any man comes and inquires of you, and says, ‘Is there any man here?’ you shall say, ‘No.’ ” Then Jael, Heber’s wife, took a tent peg and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him and drove the peg into his temple, and it went down into the ground; for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died. And then, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said to him, “Come, I will show you the man whom you seek.” And when he went into her tent, there lay Sisera, dead with the peg in his temple. So on that day God subdued Jabin king of Canaan in the presence of the children of Israel.” (Judges 4:5-10, 17-23 NKJV)

Nowhere does the Bible say that Samson was strong in himself. Pastor Prince believes that Samson was a skinny man.
But when the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, he had supernatural mighty strength.
That is why God gets the glory in Samson’s case.
When Samson’s hair was cut, he lost his strength.
But when his hair grew back and he acknowledged the Lord for his strength, that is when his strength came back.
Your disqualifications are actually your qualifications in God.

Judges 7:13-22 - When God called Gideon to defeat the Midianites, He said that the army of 1000 was too large. Only when the army was reduced to 300 men was God able to use them.
The army was armed just with pitchers (Earthen vessels) and trumpets. This was so that God can get all the glory.
God knew that Gideon was a man who got nervous and needed affirmation from God. That’s why He let Gideon eavesdrop on the dream of the Midianites .
The loaf of barley bread represents Jesus. Midian means “strife”. When we face strife in our lives, roll Jesus into the midst of your situation.

“And when Gideon had come, there was a man telling a dream to his companion. He said, “I have had a dream: To my surprise, a loaf of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian; it came to a tent and struck it so that it fell and overturned, and the tent collapsed.” Then his companion answered and said, “This is nothing else but the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel! Into his hand God has delivered Midian and the whole camp.” And so it was, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, that he worshiped. He returned to the camp of Israel, and said, “Arise, for the LORD has delivered the camp of Midian into your hand.” Then he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet into every man’s hand, with empty pitchers, and torches inside the pitchers. And he said to them, “Look at me and do likewise; watch, and when I come to the edge of the camp you shall do as I do: When I blow the trumpet, I and all who are with me, then you also blow the trumpets on every side of the whole camp, and say, ‘ The sword of the LORD and of Gideon!’ ” So Gideon and the hundred men who were with him came to the outpost of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just as they had posted the watch; and they blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers that were in their hands. Then the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers—they held the torches in their left hands and the trumpets in their right hands for blowing—and they cried, “The sword of the LORD and of Gideon!” And every man stood in his place all around the camp; and the whole army ran and cried out and fled. When the three hundred blew the trumpets, the LORD set every man’s sword against his companion throughout the whole camp; and the army fled to Beth Acacia, toward Zererah, as far as the border of Abel Meholah, by Tabbath.” (Judges 7:13-22 NKJV)

If God has blessed you abundantly in your life, don’t ever forget how it all began. We forget too easily that it’s all because of God.

Hello JP,
Neither bible does not say Samson was skinny person . pastor prince believes he is a skinny person as per his bible we don't know what bible he referring too .

He want to preaches what ever he wants, Please explain to me how come skinny person caught 300 foxes there is no spirit came as per the Bible Judges 15:4, 15:8,
16:03,16:9.

There are 2 possibilities here , either Bible is wrong or JP is completely out of context.

In other occasions Spirit came on Samson as per the bible Judges 14:6 ,14:19,15:14.

Have to test the truth based on the bible not your personal feelings or your intellect.

I pray that your eyes will open and see what GOD is taking through the bible.

The bible does not also say that Samson is muscular, like a body builder type. If so, no need to be so intrigue and ask about the secret of his strength.

Alos being muscular or skinny has nothing to do in catching 300 foxes. One can set a trap or use hunting skills. Unless maybe, you're talking about running and chasing after those foxes kind-of-thing and relying on pure brute strength and stamina... if so I don't think any muscular men nowadays can actually pull those feat.

Either way, the truth still stand that "God uses the weak things of the world to confound the mighty."
