Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus 2. King of Kings - Hillsong Worship 3. Here I Bow - Bethel Music As sons of God and not sons of Adam, we have a new nature. Our Adamic nature has been crucified at the cross and we are a new creature. The world may suffer sickness and disease, but not us—by Jesus’ stripes we are healed. When you receive a bad report, keep studying and listening to the word of God 24/7. If you have a disease, it attacks you all day long, so why don’t you listen to the Gospel all day long too? When you first take Holy Communion, you may be filled with a sense of fear, but as you continue to partake, you will lose that fear and it will be replaced with a sense of joy. There are people preaching that healing is not for today and that healing by Holy Communion is part of the health and wealth gospel. Many people come against those who are living the true Christian life. A cult is when its followers are focused on a person. A true church looks to Jesus and His finished work at the cross. Zechariah 9:12 - God wants to restore double to you. If you wasted years of your life, God can restore them to you. There is an evil spirit called a spirit of heaviness/sadness that makes you feel depressed. God’s love for you is everlasting—it’s not the end of the world. We are now slaves of righteousness in Christ. Before we were saved, we were slaves of sin. When we fall into sin, we cannot escape from being righteous in Christ. We are prisoners of hope! Return to Jesus your stronghold. We are prisoners of hope because of the blood of the covenant! Even when bad things happen, you can continue to expect good because you are a beloved child of God. Don’t be frustrated when there are unexpected delays—your life is in God’s hands. Don’t resist His loving hands. God never takes good things away unless they are going to hurt you. Once you get married, forget about finding the right person—focus on being the right person. Once romance fizzles out in a marriage, what remains is love—choosing to be committed to your spouse despite any flaws and looking for the gold inside him/her. “As for you also, because of the blood of your covenant, I have set free your prisoners from the pit in which is no water. Turn to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope! Even today I declare that I will restore double to you.” (Zechariah 9:11-12 WEB) The Flood: Cruel Genocide or Merciful Justice?“Yahweh saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of man’s heart was continually only evil. Yahweh was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him in his heart. Yahweh said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the surface of the ground—man, along with animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky—for I am sorry that I have made them.”” (Genesis 6:5-7 WEB) When Bible skeptics read the account of God sending a flood to destroy all living things on earth, they claim that God is a cruel dictator who committed the worst genocide. However they don’t consider what kind of evil mankind was doing on earth at that time. Back then, mankind’s lifespans were incredibly long due to the pre-flood atmosphere of the earth which was still good for supporting life. Imagine what kind of evil contraptions, corporations and activities can be imagined and produced by villains who live for multiple hundreds of years? People were probably raping others in plain sight, having sex with all kind of creatures, torturing those weaker than them and so on. Not to mention, the fallen angels led by the devil were making everything worse by filling the earth with their half-man, half-angel offspring calledthe Nephilim. They were giants—huge in stature and very strong. “The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when God’s sons came in to men’s daughters and had children with them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.” (Genesis 6:4 WEB) Yahweh (the pre-incarnate Christ) saw all the evil that was happening on earth, and gave Enoch a prophecy, warning him about the flood that would come many years later. That explains why Enoch named his son Methuselah, which in Hebrew means “his death will bring”, in reference to the flood that would come upon Methuselah’s death. “Enoch lived sixty-five years, then became the father of Methuselah. After Methuselah’s birth, Enoch walked with God for three hundred years, and became the father of more sons and daughters. All the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty-five years. Enoch walked with God, and he was not found, for God took him...All the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty-nine years, then he died.” (Genesis 5:21-24, 27 WEB) From the time that God gave Enoch the prophecy to the time of the actual flood, was 969 years—the length of Methuselah’s life. Methuselah also happens to be the longest living person in history. This is definitely not by coincidence, but was designed by God out of His patient and longsuffering character. God does not enjoy executing judgment—He delights in showing mercy and Grace. “Tell them, As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn, turn from your evil ways; for why will you die, house of Israel?” (Ezekiel 33:11 WEB) After receiving the prophecy from God, Enoch probably began preaching strongly about God’s impending judgment, urging hearers to repent before it was too late. “About these also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord came with ten thousands of his holy ones, to execute judgment on all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their works of ungodliness which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”” (Jude 1:14-15 WEB) After revealing the truth about the impending flood to Enoch, Jesus (Yahweh) also warned Noah about it. “Yahweh said, “My Spirit will not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; so his days will be one hundred twenty years.”” (Genesis 6:3 WEB) For about 120 years, as Noah was building the ark, he was also preaching to the people, telling them to place their faith in God and to repent of their ungodly ways. “and didn’t spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah with seven others, a preacher of righteousness, when he brought a flood on the world of the ungodly;” (2 Peter 2:5 WEB) Why It Was Wrong to Change the Lord's Prayer - Refiner's Fire Explained““But who can endure the day of his coming? And who will stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner’s fire, and like launderer’s soap; and he will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi, and refine them as gold and silver; and they shall offer to Yahweh offerings in righteousness.” (Malachi 3:2-3 WEB) I was just meditating on the passage above, about how Jesus is a Refiner and how He purifies is to become useful to God. To understand the illustration that Yahweh (the pre-incarnate Jesus) uses, we must first understand how gold and silver are refined. Here is how it works, based on a good article by Precious Metal Technologies (PMT): "Gold is processed into it’s purest form through smelting and refining. High heat, pressure and chemicals are used to remove impurities from the gold. A gold refinery receives the raw material such as rock, gold nuggets, scrap gold and re-liquefies the metal in a hot furnace, then adds various chemicals to the molten substance to separate the gold from the other metals. A sample of the gold is used in an assay to measure the purity of the gold content, usually found to be 99.9% pure. The gold can now be used in many applications, including in electronics and jewellery making." When you first believed in Jesus, you were like a gold nugget trapped encased in rock. Your spirit was reborn and perfectly holy, righteous and perfect, but your mind and body were still carnal—wanting to obey the desires of the sinful flesh. The high heat and pressure in Jesus’ illustration represents the trials, persecutions and sufferings that we experience in life—they are sent by the devil, not by God. Sometimes, God protects us from them, such that we don’t even know they were planned against us in the first place. However at other times, when God allows us to go through them, He is with us through His Spirit, leading the way. “Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.” (Matthew 4:1 WEB) The Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness to experience this high heat and pressure from the devil’s temptations as well as the inhospitable heat and dryness of the environment In this case, Jesus didn’t need to be purified because He was already sinless and perfect in all His ways. He was allowed to be tested by the devil to show us that He is really pure gold. I just read an article recently about how Pope Francis just officially approved the change of a verse in the Lord’s Prayer. He changed “lead us not into temptation” to “do not let us fall into temptation”—this change only affects the Catholic religion. “Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. We were predestined to be conformed to Jesus’ image. Take care of your body—this is the only house you will have. There is a beautiful scripture “My flesh rests in hope”, in reference to Jesus’ body in the grave, waiting for His resurrection. His body did not decay. The devil wants you to think that the church is a building or some form of human government. No, it is the greatest organization in the universe. God is the one who gave relationships. In the beginning, He put man and woman together. Everything He dreams for man is full of glory. Abuse is abnormal use of your body. Examples: drug abuse, overeating, over-drinking, staying up too late. James 1:5 - See God as being generous to you. God comes in His full of love towards you—He does not wait for you to deserve the blessings by your works. “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5 WEB) Man took God’s Son and put Him on the cross, as if to say “This is what we think of your Son.” God took the cross and turned it into the greatest demonstration of His love for mankind. Some people still think they can keep the Law—that’s abuse of the Law. In Christ Alone Pastors and leaders are very special to God. Pray for them. The devil aims to smite the shepherds so that their sheep will scatter. Jesus has paid for congregations to be held together. Jesus holds the seven stars in His hand. The stars represents the pastors of the churches. Revelation 22:5 - On this side of Heaven, there are still night seasons. Everyone will go through it. But in eternity, there will be no more night. “There will be no night, and they need no lamp light; for the Lord God will illuminate them. They will reign forever and ever.” (Revelation 22:5 WEB) Psalms 16:7 - Sometimes we are the cause of our own night seasons. Other times, it’s caused by the devil. In eternity there will be no more night seasons because there is no more devil. After a great victory, don’t let your guard down. Fill yourself up again with God’s word. Pastors empty themselves to their congregations when they preach their hearts out. They need Jesus to feed and fill them up again. When you can’t sleep at night, meditate on God’s word. “I will bless Yahweh, who has given me counsel. Yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.” (Psalms 16:7 WEB) Psalm 30:5 - Weeping only stays for the night (a short while), but joy (can represent Jesus) comes to you in the morning. “For his anger is but for a moment. His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning.” (Psalms 30:5 WEB) We are yoked with Jesus—His yoke is easy. Jesus is like an older and more experienced ox. Follow what Jesus does. Flow with His leading. If you procrastinate, you’ll find that the moment is over—when you obey late, you’ll find that it’s not as impactful than if you had promptly obeyed. Put Bibles (you can purchase some online) everywhere at home. When you feel prompted to pick it up, do it and you’ll notice that God’s word will jump out at you. The whole world is burning up and burning out. Depressing bad new is reported on new channels. Stress and helplessness are at high levels. Luke 21:25-28 - God knows about our dark times and He knows of our fears and worries. “There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth anxiety of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the waves; men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world: for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. But when these things begin to happen, look up, and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near.”” (Luke 21:25-28 WEB) In the current slow economy, companies are retrenching more than ever. Manpower has cheapened because of artificial intelligence. For example: at supermarkets, cashiers are replaced by machines. People have to multitask and take on overwhelming responsibilities in order to remain relevant. Isaiah 60:2 - There is a thick, palpable darkness today. People are under a cloud of depression. However, for believers, Jesus will arise over us—He is watching over us. As the world gets darker, the church will shine brighter—the church is our refuge. What is important in Heaven? Souls! “For, behold, darkness will cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but Yahweh will arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you.” (Isaiah 60:2 WEB) The spiritual realm shows the truth. What is visible is temporal whereas what is invisible is eternal. Our Heavenly Father is watching over us as we learn how to walk. He cares for us and loves us unconditionally. God even bothers to number all the hairs on our heads. Earthly parents, in all their love for their children, don’t even bother to do that. When Jesus cast out the legion of demons from the demoniac in the land of the Gadarenes, the people of the region rejected Jesus and begged Him to leave. Jesus knows how rejection feels—He understands how you’re feeling. |
