26 June 2016 - Find Your Position to Possess Your Possessions - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlineSunday is the Lord's Day. Jesus rose from the dead and appeared to His disciples on a Sunday. On a Sunday, Jesus expounded from the Scriptures about the things concerning Himself to the two disciples on the Road to Emmaus. On Sundays, we have to hear something about Christ. That's the solution to our foolishness and slowness of heart to believe. Statistics have shown that people who go to church on Sundays live longer! Don't allow negative news to come into your spirit. Don't waste time reading or watching negative news. For every interview with an opinion given, there is always an opposing view to it. Psalms 91 in the Bible is a psalm that promises God's all-encompassing protection. God's name is mentioned 5 times - the number of grace. There are 3 mentions of habitation in Psalms 91. Psalms 91:1 - "Dwells" is "yashav" which means to sit down. “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” (Psalms 91:1 NKJV) Psalms 91:9-11 - "Dwelling place" in Hebrew is "maon" which means a place of safety. In the Hebrew, the word "plague" is the word for "stroke". No stroke will come near your dwelling. “Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.” (Psalms 91:9-11 NKJV) Psalms 91:16 - "Salvation" is "Yeshua" which is the name of Jesus. We can ask God for long life. It is not to satisfy God, but to satisfy us! “With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”” (Psalms 91:16 NKJV) If you find your position, you will find your possession. Position before possession. Living under the Law is based on human efforts. Grace is based on God's promises. The food on this earth is fallen food. The earth is under the curse. Bless your food before you eat - Therein lies the blessing. If you do things by the flesh, you may get immediate results but it is limited and confined. If you wait on the Lord, it may take longer, but it will be much greater in quality, according to the limitless supply of the Spirit. Colossians 2:10 - We lack for nothing. We are complete in Him now. Our understanding is always playing catch up with God's truths. We are already placed at the finish-line at the beginning of our journey as a believer. “and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.” (Colossians 2:10 NKJV) When we take holy communion to receive healing, we must partake in the position of rest, declaring our faith that we are already healing, and not in the position of trying to be healed. To be healed, we must go into deeper rest in Christ, rather than trying harder to be healed which produces stress. Deuteronomy 28:1-3 - We are set far above all powers and principalities. Christianity begins with DONE, not DO. We walk not to be complete, but we walk in completion. We come with a sense of fullness, not of emptiness. God wants us to feel secure, deeply loved, liberally supplied, highly favored and greatly blessed. A favorite tactic of the devil today is to create a sense of insecurity, that anything bad can happen to you at any moment. ““Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God: “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.” (Deuteronomy 28:1-3 NKJV) Ephesians 2:4-7 - In God's viewpoint, we are now seated in heaven with Christ. Compared to God's viewpoint we cannot understand many things. We have to take God's word by faith. Faith is not blind, faith is intelligent. Faith is based on superior authority, reality, wisdom and intelligence beyond us. If we trust God's intelligence, we got to trust His word and go by faith. “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:4-7 NKJV) Psalms 92:13 - If you try to obtain something through striving and through your fleshly efforts, it is form of unbelief. However, if you rest, you are honouring God, showing that you trust Him. “Those who are planted in the house of the LORD Shall flourish in the courts of our God.” (Psalms 92:13 NKJV) Luke 4:3-13 - The constant theme of the devil is to leave out the word "beloved". It is counterproductive for the devil to remind Jesus that He is loved by God. Jesus never fought the devil with the spoken word of God, but through the written word of God. To defeat Satan, quote "It is written..." “And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’ ” Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.” And Jesus answered and said to him, “Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ” Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ” And Jesus answered and said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the LORD your God.’ ” Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time.” (Luke 4:3-13 NKJV)

19 June 2016 - Be Well-Supplied At God's Great Supper - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlineFathers tend to blame and condemn themselves when things go wrong at home. They think they have to bear all the burden on their own. If you are a father, you don't have to do that because there is One higher than you - the Lord Jesus Christ. Rest in Him and relax in order to possess your possessions! God's anointing is not limited by distance. The anointing is strongest where there is faith. If you have faith, you will receive it. What fathers say to their children have the most weight on them, as compared to what their friends say to them. Don't underestimate the power in your words. Bring your children to church. Don't worry about them turning rebellious or disliking you. They already are. They are able to sense the presence of God during church. You never hit a child in the face. You hit him/her in the seat of learning (the buttocks). You don't leave a mark. If you discipline your child right, they will become so loving. If you are a father, don't let your children run the house. Take back control! Train up a child in the way he should go, and he will not depart from it. Feed your child with the word of God and he will not depart from it. When you condemn yourself, nothing that you do that is right will work, because your motivation is wrong. We pray from victory, not for victory! We have already been healed, we are not praying to become healed. We are declaring what God says we are! Spend time with God and ask Him what you need. Don't look for generic formulas apart from the Lord. God will teach you based on your own band, your own style, etc. The Lord left our flesh with us as not born again as a reminder that in and of ourselves, no good thing exists. We are still as dependent on Him now as when before we were born again. Luke 14:25-27 - The great multitudes were following Jesus to learn from Him. Jesus means that we cannot place anything above Him if we want to follow Him, and not that we must hate our family members. We have to acknowledge Jesus as Savior before we acknowledge Him as Teacher. “Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them, “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.” (Luke 14:25-27 NKJV) Luke 15:1-4 - Jesus is at home with the sinners because they see Him as Savior. His floodgates of compassion opened up. “Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.” So He spoke this parable to them, saying: “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?” (Luke 15:1-4 NKJV) 5 Life Lessons and Moral Value In "The Conjuring 2 (2016)" (Spoilers Alert!) Movie quote from The Conjuring 2 (2016): "After everything we've seen, there isn't anything much that rattles either of us anymore, but this one, this one still haunts me." - Lorraine Warren. 1) Knowing the demon's name when you're trying to cast it out of a possessed person gives you dominion over it. You can ask it to reveal its name. Demons are prideful spirits so they will do so most of the time. 2) Trying to communicate with the dead or with spirits is opening a portal for demons to attack you. Absolutely avoid such practices at all costs! 3) All it takes is one person to change your life, and God can send that person to you. If you meet someone who trusts in you, marry him/her ;) In a scene at the swing, Lorraine Warren shared with Janet Hodgson that she never fit in since she was young because she was different (she had clairvoyant ability), until she met Ed, who trusted in her, and that one person can change one's life. She said, "You know what I did? I married him.". Later, when Ed was fixing the tap in the kitchen, he shares the same thing with Janet, who finishes his line before he could. 4) Demons gain power over their possessed victim by causing them to feel outcast, rejected, isolated and alone. 5) Sometimes God can give you premonitions in the form of dreams and/or visions to warn you in advance of disasters that lie ahead, so that you can avoid them. Lorraine Warren received both a vision and a dream, and both of them showed the demonic spirit Valak causing Ed Warren's death by impalement by a sharp piece of wood. After sharing her vision with Ed, Ed assures her that it could be God sending her the vision to warn her in advance to give her the opportunity to prevent Ed's death and save his life. Only God can do that. Philippians 4:11-13 - Paul wrote this when he was in prison. Paul had such a deep sense of contentment and confidence in Christ, regardless of the state he's in. “Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:11-13 NKJV) Luke 1:26-38 - Mary had a secret inner life and relationship with God. Here she is, approached by an angel telling her that she would bear a child, the Son of God, when she was still a virgin, and she said "Be it to me according to your word". “Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.” Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” And the angel answered and said to her, “ The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.” Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.” (Luke 1:26-38 NKJV) John 2:1-12 - Mary knows God in a way that is really special. This is the kind of relationship with God that we should desire. Mary knows Jesus' heart. She knew that Jesus would do it. When people say that it's not your time, you will know that it IS your time, because you have Jesus. “On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.” Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it. ” Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!” This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him. After this He went down to Capernaum, He, His mother, His brothers, and His disciples; and they did not stay there many days.” (John 2:1-12 NKJV) Prayer is not about whether God will give you attention. It is about whether you will give God your attention. Luke 2:18-19 - Mary did something more than marvel - she kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. It is possible to marvel and forget about it once something else comes along. The definition of "kept" is "to preserve from ruin". Why is there a need to preserve what she saw from ruin? It is because there is an enemy out there, the devil, who wants to steal the word of God from our hearts. The definition of "ponder" is to "converse, consult, dispute (mentally)". You will dispute in your mind all the negative reports and thoughts when the enemy tries to steal God's word from your heart. “And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.” (Luke 2:18-19 NKJV) It is great when spectacular miracles happen, but it's more important to have the supernatural. This year, God has promised us that we will possess our possessions. If you have an inner life and relationship with God, you will have a confident expectation of possessing your possessions - you will keep God's words in your heart. When your inner world is prosperous, when you know Jesus and that He is good, everything in your life will change for good. God will perfect that which concerns you. Just rest in Him. God deserves our boasting in Him and our adoration because He gives us His grace and love undeservedly. God wants you healed more than you are willing to be healed. “And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, “There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day.” The Lord then answered him and said, “Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it? So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?”” (Luke 13:11-16 NKJV) Joseph's brothers all share the same father, but not the same mother. Only Joseph and Benjamin were born of Rachel who represents grace. The rest of Joseph's brothers were born of bondwomen who represent the Law. Our mother is grace. Today, there are still many children born of the same father who don't have the same mother - Many believers still put themselves under the Law instead of living under grace. The gospel is to be preached to the Jew first, then the Greek (the Gentiles). When we preach grace, they will be convicted. Romans 5:17 - Righteousness is a gift. You receive it and cannot earn it. Righteousness isn't based on what we do or don't do. You cannot overcome addictions permanently by willpower. The devil strongly attacks teachings about "abundance of grace" and "the gift of righteousness" because he doesn't want us to reign in life! When we reign in life, the devil doesn't. When we reign in life, sin doesn't. “For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)” (Romans 5:17 NKJV) The gospel is not a revelation of holiness. Righteousness is the root, holiness is the fruit! Galatians 3:5 - We receive God's miracles by the hearing of faith. “Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?—” (Galatians 3:5 NKJV) Galatians 5:19-23 - Works are a result of effort. Fruit is a result of life. We produce the fruits of the Spirit in our life by abiding in Jesus. Jesus is the Vine and we are the branches. We don't have to try to be a branch. We just have to rest and let Jesus' vine life flow through us. “Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” (Galatians 5:19-23 NKJV) Ezekiel 44 - Your sweating as a result of works and self-effort is hindering you from receiving your miracle. When you work, God rests. When you rest, God works! ““But the priests, the Levites, the sons of Zadok, who kept charge of My sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from Me, they shall come near Me to minister to Me; and they shall stand before Me to offer to Me the fat and the blood,” says the Lord GOD. “They shall enter My sanctuary, and they shall come near My table to minister to Me, and they shall keep My charge. And it shall be, whenever they enter the gates of the inner court, that they shall put on linen garments; no wool shall come upon them while they minister within the gates of the inner court or within the house. They shall have linen turbans on their heads and linen trousers on their bodies; they shall not clothe themselves with anything that causes sweat.” (Ezekiel 44:15-18 NKJV) There is nothing more practical than looking at Jesus. When Peter was looking at Jesus, he did the supernatural - he walked on water! As long as his eyes were fixed on Jesus, he did what Jesus did. The moment he turned away from Jesus to look at the storm, he started to sink. The pulpit should be a place for people to behold Jesus. As we behold Jesus, we are transformed from glory to glory. In the Christian life, there are no answers horizontally. Your answers come vertically. The Christian life begins by being seated with Christ. How well you sit is how well you walk. How well you rest is how well you work. As long as the devil can affect your rest, he can affect your walk in life. When a problem comes and the devil asks you "What are you going to do about it?", answer: "Nothing. I'm going to rest." We pray from victory, not for victory! I John 4:17 - Jesus is seated in heaven at the right hand of the Father, glorified and high above all powers and principalities. We are as Jesus is, right now, in this world! Just as He is free from sickness and disease, so are we, right now, in this world! “Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.” (I John 4:17 NKJV) The devil always wants you to look at yourself, but the Holy Spirit wants you to look at Jesus. Every way you turn Jesus to look at Him, He is perfect and altogether lovely. |
