31 May 2020 - Move in Kingly, Priestly and Prophetic Flows - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPastor Joseph Prince taught us about the firstborn blessings available to us. Because His Spirit dwells in us, we can operate in the kingly, priestly, and prophetic flows, as well as the nine spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit! Praise and worship songs performed: 1. I See Grace - New Creation Worship 2. Finished - New Creation Worship 3. Way Maker - Sinach God loves to hear you pray. When you pray, you can have boldness because it is a new and living way—He delights in you. In the side chamber of Solomon’s Temple, we see grain, wine and oil stored there. Grain and wine is a picture of the Holy Communion. The grain is burnt and pounded to become bread. Grapes are stepped on to get the juice and the juice is kept in the dark to become wine. These are pictures of the suffering that Jesus endured on the day of His death. When you partake of the Lord’s Supper, you must do so with fresh revelation, as if Jesus was just slain for you just now. Worship is bringing Abba God pleasure and delight by reminding Him of His Son Jesus. Pentecost was celebrated yesterday. Pastor Prince feels that there will be a shift in spiritual atmosphere from now on—a lifting of darkness. The Jews remember Pentecost as a commemoration of the giving of the Law at Mount Sinai. Under the New Covenant, Pentecost commemorates the giving of the Holy Spirit. At Mount Sinai, dark clouds surrounded the mountain, but when the Holy Spirit was given, there was no dark cloud. It was a clear day. When God gave the Law, 3000 people died on that day. When God gave the Holy Spirit, 3000 souls were saved. The letter kills, whereas the Spirit gives life. We are on Mount Zion, not Mount Sinai. God has moved mountains. We have come to the mountain of Grace. Under Grace, God supplies you with the willingness and ability to work. Be supply-minded, not demand-minded. You’re much more precious to God than the birds of the air and the lilies of the field. He will surely feed and clothe you. He who will see good days must refrain from speaking evil and guile. Speak according to God’s word, don’t declare hopelessness about your future. Faith has nothing to do with emotions. Speak even if you don’t feel ‘in faith’. Faith is about the integrity of God’s word and how God surely keeps and fulfills His word. The church is the greatest and most successful organization in the entire universe. We are living stones that make up the church of Jesus Christ. God calls the church “the house of God” and “the bride of Christ”. Hebrew 12:22-23 - When Elijah was about to go up to Heaven, Elisha asked for a firstborn inheritance—a double portion of anointing, and he received it, crying out “My father, my father!” That is the spirit of sonship. We are sons of God. “But you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable multitudes of angels, to the festal gathering and assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,” (Hebrews 12:22-23 WEB) Genesis 25:28-34 - Jacob means “supplanter”. Jacob and Esau were twins, but when Esau was about to be born, Jacob grabbed his heel. Problems start when parents practice favoritism. Rebekah taught Jacob to deceive his father to get the firstborn blessing. Esau was a man who only cared for his fleshly desires. In contrast, Jacob was full of flaws but he had great respect for the birthright and firstborn blessing. “Now Isaac loved Esau, because he ate his venison. Rebekah loved Jacob. Jacob boiled stew. Esau came in from the field, and he was famished. Esau said to Jacob, “Please feed me with that same red stew, for I am famished.” Therefore his name was called Edom. Jacob said, “First, sell me your birthright.” Esau said, “Behold, I am about to die. What good is the birthright to me?” Jacob said, “Swear to me first.” He swore to him. He sold his birthright to Jacob. Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils. He ate and drank, rose up, and went his way. So Esau despised his birthright.” (Genesis 25:28-34 WEB) Genesis 27:28-29 - Isaac gave the firstborn blessing to Jacob instead of Esau. The “fatness of the earth” implies oil. “God give you of the dew of the sky, of the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and new wine. Let peoples serve you, and nations bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers. Let your mother’s sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you. Blessed be everyone who blesses you.”” (Genesis 27:28-29 WEB) Genesis 27:39-40 - Esau’s ‘leftover’ blessing did not include grain and wine. Plenty of grain and wine represents partaking of the Lord’s Supper regularly, as often as you can. With regards to the Lord’s Supper, Jesus said “do this in remembrance of Me”. It is His love language, and we have to sense His love for us as we partake of the Lord’s Supper. “Isaac his father answered him, “Behold, of the fatness of the earth will be your dwelling, and of the dew of the sky from above. By your sword will you live, and you will serve your brother. It will happen, when you will break loose, that you shall shake his yoke from off your neck.”” (Genesis 27:39-40 WEB) Genesis 27:37 - Isaac confirmed that “grain and wine” are the most important elements of the firstborn blessing. Jesus is the “Firstborn from the dead”. He Jesus always existed with God the Father. Firstborn in the sense of position—Jesus has the highest position. He is the head of the church. The firstborn blessing is a kingly portion. “Isaac answered Esau, “Behold, I have made him your lord, and all his brothers I have given to him for servants. I have sustained him with grain and new wine. What then will I do for you, my son?”” (Genesis 27:37 WEB)

COVID-19 Quarantine in a Singapore Hotel: a Parent's ExperienceHi this is Milton! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, my sis-in-law Adeline Kang was quarantined with her family in a hotel in Singapore after relocating back from Sydney recently. It is a law in Singapore that whoever returns from overseas has to serve a "stay-home notice" of 14 days before they can leave their home or location of quarantine. She has graciously allowed me to share her story on this blog. If you are keen to read about her parenting and products review blog called "Ader IBlog", do check it out here. Without further ado, read her quarantine story below! 24 May 2020 - The Fragrance of Christ Stops the Plague - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPastor Joseph Prince taught how Aaron's incense is a picture of the perfections of our Lord Jesus Christ. When you remind Abba God about Jesus, lifting up prayers as fragrant incense to Him, every evil plague in your life stops in their tracks! Praise and worship songs performed: 1. Grace Revolution - New Creation Worship 2. Rain Upon My Life - New Creation Worship Sit down and meditate on Jesus’ words, just like Mary sat down at Jesus’ feet. Martha was worried and complaining because she didn’t sit down to listen to Jesus first. Read healing testimonies. It imparts faith to you. Before you go for a doctor’s checkup, prepare yourself this way. In this season of quarantine and lockdown, many people are battling with loneliness and depression. It is caused by a spirit of heaviness. Bible hope is not about wishing for good things to happen. Bible hope is a positive expectation of good things to come. Partaking of the Holy Communion with a fresh revelation can set you free from bondages like depression. Your future is as bright as God’s favor and His Grace. Pastor Prince prayed for people who are suffering from depression to be set free. Even after you just received healing, there may be counterattacks that come. Don’t trust the lies of the devil—fill your mind and heart with the truths of God’s word. Numbers 16:41-48 - Prophetically-speaking, this passage foreshadows how Jesus’ finished work at the cross would usher in a new day. Grace stops sin. It is the goodness of God that leads us to repentance in Christ Jesus. When you live under Grace, you will bear the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Rebels like Korah and Abiram and their people murmured against Moses and Aaron. In judgment of that sin, the earth opened up and swallowed those rebels up. The next day, the congregation of the children of Israel didn’t seem to learn from what they saw the day before. Good leaders fall on their faces in prayer for their people. Don’t wish evil on anyone, even if they persecute you. Pray for God to bless them and deal with them mercifully and graciously. There’s never been such a plague in modern history that caused such a worldwide effect and shutting down of things than this COVID-19 virus. Job didn’t have a mediator between God and him. We cannot compare ourselves exactly with Job. Today, we have Jesus as our Mediator and High Priest who is interceding on our behalf. Jesus’ priesthood is in the order of Melchizedek—a priesthood of blessing with no curse. The incense is a picture of the perfections of our Lord Jesus Christ. The work of redemption is not just about removing our sins. God removed our sins to fill that empty place with His glory. The Old Covenant of the Law was an ‘old and dying way’. If the high priest didn’t make proper preparations, he would be struck dead in the Holy of Holies. Under Grace, coming to God is a “new and living way”—see Jesus freshly slain for you, and receive a fresh impartation of life from God. Aaron—the very high priest that the people complained against, saved them by standing in the middle with the incense. When you remind God about Jesus and His finished work at the cross, every evil plague in your life stops. “But on the next day all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, “You have killed Yahweh’s people!” When the congregation was assembled against Moses and against Aaron, They looked toward the Tent of Meeting. Behold, the cloud covered it, and Yahweh’s glory appeared. Moses and Aaron came to the front of the Tent of Meeting. Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, “Get away from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment!” They fell on their faces. Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer, and put fire from off the altar in it, and lay incense on it, and carry it quickly to the congregation, and make atonement for them; for wrath has gone out from Yahweh! The plague has begun.” Aaron did as Moses said, and ran into the middle of the assembly. Behold, the plague has begun among the people. He put on the incense, and made atonement for the people. He stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.” (Numbers 16:41-48 WEB) 17 May 2020 - Does God Allow Christians to Go Through Troubles? - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPastor Joseph Prince affirmed that God definitely doesn't tempt anyone to sin. Sometimes trouble comes because of mistakes of our own making, such as failing to pray for protection from troubles, but at other times God does allow troubles sent by the devil to 'child-train' you for your profit. After the trouble ends, there is an "after". The evil day is short, but the good days are long! Jesus wants you to have a robust enjoyment of life—He wants you to have life and life more abundantly. He wants you to enjoy long life and see good days. When the Bible says talks about "the evil day" (Ephesians 6), it’s just singular. The evil afflictions sent by the devil will be short, but good days will be long! 2 Corinthians 11:18 - All of God’s promises are yes and amen for us. If it’s not clearly stated that a promise is unique for a certain person/nation only (example: Israel), then it is for you too. “But as God is faithful, our word toward you was not “Yes and no.” For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, by me, Silvanus, and Timothy, was not “Yes and no,” but in him is “Yes.” For however many are the promises of God, in him is the “Yes.” Therefore also through him is the “Amen”, to the glory of God through us.” (2 Corinthians 1:18-20 WEB) The protection promises in Psalm 91 are yours to enjoy. Say “Amen” to them to release your faith in the promise. Mary said “Amen” to the words of archangel Gabriel and she bore the Messiah. When you say “Amen”, then the promise becomes real in your life. Because of Christ, God says yes to any of the promises in His word. Don’t listen to sermons that say that only some of these promises are for you, and that others are not for you. When Jesus prayed the Lord’s Prayer, He used certain terms. Let your kingdom “come” and let your will be “done”. We are not commanding God—we are lining up our spoken words with God’s will. If you want to know what is God’s will, look at Heaven. Is there sickness or poverty there? No. Then you can pray for healing and provision—it is God’s will. That’s what it means to pray for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Is there persecution for a believer? Yes, but you can pray for God to deliver you from it. Many believers are wondering if God wants you to pray for deliverance from a trouble that you’re experiencing. If you believe right, you will live right. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth. He cannot testify to a lie. He cannot testify if you’re still calling yourself a sinner. You’re the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. The epistle to the Hebrews says that if a sacrifice has worked, there is no need for another reminder of sins. It shows that the Old Covenant sacrifices are unable to purge the people of their consciousness of sins. But Jesus already paid for all our sins with the once-for-all-time offering of Himself at the cross. Partaking of the Lord’s Supper in an unworthy manner means that you are not discerning the Lord’s body—the body and blood of Christ. The Corinthian church was treating the Lord’s Supper like a time to enjoy ‘happy hour’, getting themselves drunk with the wine, and eating the bread like eating a meal to fill their stomachs, instead of contemplating on the Lord’s death. Repentance is not just about being sorrowful. Judas Iscariot was sorrowful and he hung himself. Repentance means turning to Jesus. Peter betrayed Jesus and he still turned to Jesus. 10 May 2020 - Provision and Healing are Surely Yours - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPastor Joseph Prince shared that there are preachers who condemn the 'health and wealth gospel', saying that it's not God's will to heal and prosper His people. This has discouraged believers from having the faith to prosper in all things and be healthy, even as their souls prosper. It's time to reclaim our inheritance in Christ through right believing! Praise and Worship Songs Performed: 1. Praise the Name (Anastasis) - Hillsong Music 2. My King - New Creation Worship This time of stay home and lockdown is like a Sabbath-years rest for us. Some of us need a compulsory rest. Colossians 2:5 - Pastor Prince is physically absent, but is able to minister to us through technology, and in the spirit. Pastors can pray for their congregations in the spirit. Pastoring is supposed to be supernatural. There is no limit with prayer—transcending time and space, with the Lord of time and space. “For though I am absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, rejoicing and seeing your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.” (Colossians 2:5 WEB) 3 John 1:2 - The Apostle John wouldn’t pray this prayer if it wasn’t divinely-inspired and according to God’s will. The authors of the Scriptures were inspired by the Holy Spirit who breathed His words into them. John is the apostle of love. He referred to himself in his gospel as the disciple whom Jesus loves. Prosper in all things really means all things. Not just limited to one or two areas. Your soul is prospering because you’re a believer and you are receiving God’s word. Your soul prospering is a given. God wants your prosperity in all things and health to follow your soul prosperity. “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers.” (3 John 1:2 WEB) 1 Corinthians 16:1-2 - God prospers us financially through the grace of giving. “Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I commanded the assemblies of Galatia, you do likewise. On the first day of the week, let each one of you save, as he may prosper, that no collections be made when I come.” (1 Corinthians 16:1-2 WEB) Always judge your behavior by your position—not the other way around. You are always the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. There is no poverty, sickness or lack in Heaven. Pray for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Some people are preaching strongly against the ‘health and wealth gospel’. These people are discouraging believers from having faith to receive God’s provision for every need in their lives. God is against the love of money and stinginess. That’s why He instituted the grace of giving which breaks the love for money and develops generosity. Mark 5:27-29 - The woman with an issue of blood was sick and poor. She heard about Jesus—not a Jesus that demanded perfection in Law-keeping. She heard about a Jesus that gave her confidence to be healed. Because she was hemorrhaging, she was actually ceremonially unclean and not allowed to be in the public. Yet, she had the faith that she would be healed if she touched Jesus’ garment. The woman said “I will be made well”—that is a sure statement of faith with no uncertainty. “For she said, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be made well.” Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction.” (Mark 5:28-29 WEB) Mark 5:33-34 - Jesus didn’t want the woman to think that she had stolen her healing. He wanted her to know that He was glad to heal her. “But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be cured of your disease.”” (Mark 5:33-34 WEB) The Law was given on Mount Sinai from a distance, but Grace came personally in the person of Jesus Christ. The Law says “don’t, don’t, don’t”, but Grace says “I shall, I shall, I shall”. The Law says that it will remember your sins from generation to generation. Grace says that “I will remember your sins no more”. Micah 6:8 - God is a judge, but His essence is love. He has to execute justice, but He loves mercy. “He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8 WEB) God never asked for our permission—He sent His Son to die for our sins. Jesus is totally sinless. Pilate assessed Him and said “I find no fault in this man.” After Judas Iscariot betrayed Him, he cried out “I have betrayed innocent blood!” The centurion who saw Jesus at the cross declared “Surely this was a righteous man.” At the cross, Jesus did a clean sweep of all our sins by absorbing God’s punishment for sins in His own body. 3 May 2020 - How to Prosper Amid the Financial Famine - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesA worldwide financial famine is coming, and believers need to sow seeds now to have plentiful harvests of provision in the time of famine. There is an end-time deception that because God is good, there's no need to tithe or give. Conform to God's ways and He will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus! Praise and Worship Songs Performed: 1. The One Thing - New Creation Worship 2. King of my Heart - New Creation Worship 3. Fall Afresh On Me - New Creation Worship Colossians 2:5 - Sitting at Jesus’ feet to receive from Him is the most important thing to do each day. Our spiritual feeding on Sundays sets the tone for the rest of the week. “For though I am absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, rejoicing and seeing your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.” (Colossians 2:5 WEB) In Luke 24, Jesus expounded the Scriptures to the two disciples, about the things concerning Himself. His true identity was concealed to them. It was more important for them to see Jesus in the Scriptures than in the flesh. Jesus expounded these to the disciples on a Sunday—setting a precedence for us to gather and feed on God’s word on Sundays (the first day of the week). When famine hit the land of Canaan (God’s promised land) , Abraham went down to the land of Egypt. Going down to Egypt (representing the world) is always a bad thing. When Abraham went back up to Canaan, he prospered and became rich in silver and gold. Sow in the time of famine—you will prosper. Acts 11:28-30 - Three months ago, before the COVID-19 pandemic reached a serious level in Singapore, the Lord showed Pastor Prince that a time of worldwide financial famine is coming. Thereafter, Pastor Prince read news about the swarms of locusts ravaging the lands in Africa, Iran, etc. The news says that this locust invasion is the worst it’s ever been in decades. The Holy Spirit can show you things to come. The well-supplied believers were able to help those in need. The name Agabus means “locust”. It’s prophetic of the locust invasion happening in the world now. Even in this time, your provision comes from the Lord. He will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. This is a time of great shaking, and it will show that God is the only unshakable refuge to put your trust in. “One of them named Agabus stood up, and indicated by the Spirit that there should be a great famine all over the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius. As any of the disciples had plenty, each determined to send relief to the brothers who lived in Judea; which they also did, sending it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.” (Acts 11:28-30 WEB) Matthew 6:25-30 - God wants to clothe you with health and provide for you financially as well. “Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they? “Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan? Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin, yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won’t he much more clothe you, you of little faith?” (Matthew 6:25-30 WEB) Matthew 6:31-33 - We just need to keep learning about how righteous we are in Christ. ““Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:31-33 WEB) |
