5 Life Lessons and Moral Value in "The Maze Runner 2 : The Scorch Trials" (Spoiler Alert!) - The Maze Runner Series
1) Sometimes disappointments can turn out to be a huge blessings in disguise!
In the WCKED facility at the beginning of the movie, some of the maze survivors from the other mazes were happy and excited to be selected. Little did they know that means that they would be experimented on like lab rats! We initially thought Aris was not chosen because he was weak and small-built (not a fine specimen), but in fact, it turned out to be a blessing for him as he was able to escape the facility with Thomas' group into the Scorch!
2) At the rate it is going, the world is likely going to end up like a post-apocalyptic scene.
"The Maze Runner 2 : The Scorch Trials" movie portrays the remnant human civilisation living in a post-apocalyptic world. This is quite a possible scenario in the future looking at how things are going right now. God bless us all!
3) A very practical piece of safety advice: Avoid large open spaces in a thunderstorm - there's a higher chance of survival that way. Take cover!!
In the Scorch, while running in a thunderstorm towards the abandoned facility, Minho is struck by lightning due to the large open desert space that the group was running on. Whenever possible, avoid large open spaces in a thunderstorm! Minho survived the lightning strike, but not everyone is so blessed!
4) Even a best friend is capable of betrayal. Don't place your faith and trust completely in humans. You will inevitably be disappointed.
Out of Thomas' group and The Right Arm's expectations, Teresa betrayed them all by informing WCKED of the whereabouts of The Right Arm's relief camp, leading to its utter destruction. Have you ever been betrayed by someone close to you whom you trusted in? Humans make mistakes, so don't place all your faith and trust in humans, or you'll inevitably be disappointed.
5) A harsh environment tends to shape people to become guarded, distrustful and ruthless. It activates their protective and survival instincts.
Jorge and his dangerous band of survivors chained Thomas and his group upside-down by their ankles, and dangled them from a great height to force them to share information about WCKED with them. In a harsh and dangerous environment like the Scorch, it is very natural to become guarded when facing new, unfamiliar people so as to survive and protect loved ones.

25 October 2015 - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - Grace Revolution/ New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online - Healing Secrets Hidden in the Hebrew Language (NCC 2nd Service)The anointing of the Holy Spirit is not time-sensitive. You can watch Pastor Prince's sermons from years ago and you can still receive the anointing. The Hebrew word for "Save" is "sozo" which means safety, healing, deliverance, protection, preservation and more! Jesus' name in Hebrew is "Yeshua" which means Savior. Revelation 20:11-15 - Believers will not stand before the Great White Throne to be accessed and sent to hell - only non-believers. Non-believers will be judged according to their standards - the book of records will be opened and the non-believers will be judged. Believers will stand before the Bema Seat of Christ to receive their rewards. “Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:11-15 NKJV) There is no such thing as 'more dead'. Dead is dead. If you don't accept the Lord Jesus, God sees you as dead. Man judges based on outward appearances, whereas God sees the heart. Luke 7:41-47 - People who think they are forgiven little, love God little. Those who believe they are forgiven much, love God much! “There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?” Simon answered and said, “I suppose the one whom he forgave more.” And He said to him, “You have rightly judged.” Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head. You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in. You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil. Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little." (Luke 7:41-47 NKJV) The devil was trying to prevent Pastor Prince from sharing this message on a revelation of healing found in the Hebrew language, by spiritually attacking him with red hot patches all over his body. After going to the doctor, the doctor's report came out that there was nothing wrong with Pastor Prince. Every Hebrew letter is a picture - it is a pictogram. There are 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet. 5 is the number of grace in the Bible. In Hebrew, the number 5 is called "hei". The fifth time David's name is mentioned, it says David has found favor. The fifth time Ruth's name is mentioned, it says grace. This is one of God's names - YHVH - Spelt in Hebrew with yod hei vav hei - Pronounced as "Yahweh". God breathed a "hei" into Abram's name, making it "Abraham". God breathed a "hei" into Sarai's name, making it "Sarah". When grace comes into your life you become fruitful. "Alev" is 1 in Hebrew. It is a picture of an ox - a picture of sacrifice. "Bet" is 2 in Hebrew. It is a picture of a house. "Gimel" is 3 in Hebrew. It is a picture of a camel. "Dalet" is 4 in Hebrew. It is a picture of a door. "Hei" is 5 in Hebrew. It is a picture of a window - it is for you to look out at something. There is a principle of counting Hebrew letters to find God's revelations and truths. If you put a letter at the beginning of the word, it is a "prefix". If you put a letter at the end of a word, it is a "suffix". If you put a suffix at the end of a Hebrew word, it becomes your possession - it is a letter of possession. 18 October 2015 - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online - Living Worthily As A King And Priest to GodA Testimony: Ethan was born with severe heart problems in the USA. He was missing an aortic valve in his heart. He needed open heart surgery within 24 hours of being born. When he was growing up, he needed surgery on his heart every few years to enlarge his aortic valve. As he was growing up, he watched Pastor Prince's sermons on television with his mum every morning. His dream was to go to Singapore to meet Pastor Joseph Prince. Someone contacted Make a Wish foundation and notified them about Ethan's dream. They fly Ethan to Singapore and arranged for Pastor Prince to meet him at New Creation Church. Pastor Prince met Ethan and prayed for him. Ethan saw God's great love for him through this experience! God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should be saved. That's His heart for us. Testimony: A man was addicted to the highly-addictive drug called "Ice". He read books about the Lord and the addiction went away. In September 2013, he attended a friend's birthday party and they were taking drugs. He succumbed to the temptation and took drugs too. Then his addiction to drugs became worse than before. He took the drugs daily. After he watched Pastor Prince's sermon called "Step into God's Greater Glory", he woke up the next day and found that he was free from all desire to take the drugs. He has been free from drug addiction since April 2014. Praise Jesus! God is raising a lot of young people established in grace and is not waiting for them to grow up before using them! Isaiah 11:6-9 - When the reign of Jesus comes on earth during His millennial rule, nothing will destroy each other. There will be no destruction on earth. "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the nursing child shall play over the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder's den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea." (Isaiah 11:6-9, NKJV) In the middle of the 7 years Tribulation will be the Great Tribulation. II Peter 3:8 - A thousand years with the Lord is like one day. "But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day." (II Peter 3:8, NKJV) John 2:1-10 - After two days (on the third day), Jesus turned water into wine. It points to the wedding feast that will take place in heaven after the Great Tribulation. "On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.” Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.” Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”" (John 2:1-10, NKJV) John 11:17 - Why Lazarus was raised from the dead only after 4 days: From Adam to Jesus is 4000 years. Salvation was made available to mankind after Jesus died at the cross - man who was dead in his sins because of Adam's sin was raised to life! From Jesus to us is 2000 years. "So when Jesus came, He found that he had already been in the tomb four days." (John 11:17, NKJV) Matthew 6:9-13 - The Sermon on the Mount is the Constitution of the King. The Lord's Prayer is for the dispensation at that time - Israel was still under the Law and Jesus had not died at the cross yet. We should pray according to Paul's prayers. Now we pray because we are forgiven, not to be forgiven. "In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen." (Matthew 6:9-13, NKJV) The first 4 chapters of the Book of Revelation talks about the church. Chapter 5 onward is after the Rapture has already happened. We believers will already be with Jesus in heaven. The Book of Revelation is a symbolic book. We are in the End-Times! Revelation 13:16-17 - You will have to have a mark on you before you can buy or sell after the Rapture. It could be a chip implanted inside you. To take the mark is an unpardonable sin. This is not applicable for believers before the Rapture because we will already be in heaven by that time! “He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” (Revelation 13:16-17 NKJV) Revelation 1:4-6 - "Who is who was and who is to come" is referencing "YHWH" (Pastor Prince pronounces it as "Yahweh"). God wants Jesus to have preeminence. Jesus is the firstborn from the dead! As believers, we are kings and priests to God. “John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” (Revelation 1:4-6 NKJV) Malachi 4:6, Revelation 22:21 - The closing statement of the Old Testament is "curse". The closing statement of the New Testament is "the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all"! “And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”” (Malachi 4:6 NKJV) “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Although everything on earth, even water, is fallen, stick closer to the original creation in the context of food and drink - it's healthier and better for you. Your trust must always be in the Lord, don't put your trust in man. Trust God, only He can put you in the right place at the right time. Ask Him to do that for you! Jeremiah 17:5-8 - To "see when good comes" means to experience good. The cursed man does not experience good. We who are believers in Jesus are blessed! “Thus says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:5-8 NKJV) John 11:49-52 - Caiaphas said this and prophesied because he was high priest,(because of his position). Leaders of nations sometimes say things out of their mouths that are placed inside by God. “And one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all, nor do you consider that it is expedient for us that one man should die for the people, and not that the whole nation should perish.” Now this he did not say on his own authority; but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation, and not for that nation only, but also that He would gather together in one the children of God who were scattered abroad.” (John 11:49-52 NKJV) God will not leave you alone. 13 September 2015 - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online - Are There Commandments Under Grace?Romans 13:1 - Now that it's after the Singapore elections, trust that whatever result is God's will. It's time to pray for your leaders of Singapore and stop complaining. “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.” (Romans 13:1 NKJV) God is the only one who can govern the affairs of the nations. We are about to enter an era where there will be a revived Roman Empire - a United States of Europe. God choice was David, not Saul. God promised that David's throne would be forever. God wants the whole world to be blessed, not just Israel. King Solomon is still the richest man that ever lived. He built the most expensive Temple of God that ever existed. The children of Israel strayed from the Lord. They worshiped Molech, and sacrificed their babies to the flaming arms of the idol of Molech. Their babies would roll into the red-hot fiery cauldron. We're waiting for the kingdom that is not built by human hands that will destroy all other kingdoms - the kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. In a marriage, the man being the head does not mean tyranny or bossism. He's the facilitator and the leader. He's the one accountable before God for the family. Men and women are in equal standing before God, with different roles. Women are more intuitive and men are more logical. Romans 2:12-16 - Pastor Joseph Prince shared a story about how a missionary preached to a tribal leader and realized that he knows the Ten Commandments in a rephrased manner. The Law is written in man's conscience. God will judge the men who did not know the Ten Commandments by their conscience. “For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified; for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them ) in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.” (Romans 2:12-16 NKJV) 5 Life Lessons and Moral Value In "Attack On Titan" (Spoilers Ahead!)
1) Comfort is the enemy. In order to gain, you must learn to let go of what's holding you back.
This is what Captain Shikishima told Eren. It's pretty good advice! The walls don't ensure people's safety. It's impossible to live a life of freedom and boldness when you're live on defense-mode all the time! Like Shikishima asks, "Are you a cattle waiting to be slaughtered, or are you a wolf?"
4 October 2015 - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online - Meditate On God's Word And Receive Wisdom that Propels You Into Good Success!Testimony: A man from Philippines was addicted to gambling on horse racing since 9 years old and on pornography. He stole money. He shouted at his family. He was saved at a church that taught a mixture of Law and Grace. That church also taught about confessing all the un-confessed sins in your heart before going to sleep in order to be forgiven. He kept confessing his sins until he had headaches, and his addiction to gambling on horse racing and pornography worsened. One day when he was searching through television channels, he stumbled upon Pastor Joseph Prince's teachings, and it set him free from more than 30 years of addiction to compulsive gambling and pornography. Now when he is surfing the Internet and sees a picture of a scantily-clad lady, he just declares that he is the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and the temptation melts away. Praise Jesus! If you believe in the total depravity of man and believe that you have to confess all your sins, then you'll have to be confessing your sins all the time, including those sins that you don't know about, and those that you forgot to confess. It is error to believe that you have to keep confessing your sins in order to be forgiven. That will lead you into bondage. I John 1:9 - The Apostle John was writing this to the Gnostic Jews, not to believers. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (I John 1:9, NKJV) When you know you are forgiven, you'll not be afraid to be honest. Pastor Joseph Prince used to be in bondage during his youth because he believed that he had to keep confessing his sins in order to be forgiven. He wasn't a good testimony of what the Apostle Paul preached about - joy unspeakable, peace, and casting out every fear. Isaiah 45:23-25 - Believers will say "surely I have righteousness and strength." or "I am the righteousness of God in Christ!". Whoever comes against these believers will be put to shame. “I have sworn by Myself; The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, And shall not return, That to Me every knee shall bow, Every tongue shall take an oath. He shall say, ‘Surely in the LORD I have righteousness and strength. To Him men shall come, And all shall be ashamed Who are incensed against Him.
