How you can Prepare for your Child's First Night in Toddler Bed

How you can Prepare for your Child's First Night in Toddler Bed
How you can Prepare for your Child's First Night in Toddler Bed - Maeleth smiling happily after waking up!

As I am writing this, my daughter Maeleth Sarah Goh is 19 months old.
In the past month she had trouble sleeping through the night in her baby cot, and would wake up in the middle of the night every night to come sleep on my bed.

After a week of this happening, my wife Amilee and I deduced that she didn't want to sleep in a cot anymore and wanted to transition from her cot to a toddler bed.
It could be due to her being taller now than before and when her legs kicked the side of the cot, it would annoy and wake her.

Initially we were nervous about the idea of transitioning her from a cot to a toddler bed - "What if she wakes up before us, runs out of the room and gets injured, or worse?".

We brainstormed ideas on how to prepare for Mae's first night in toddler bed, executed the plan, and everything was very successful -
Mae slept soundly through the night (If you're interested, click here to read my post about how we helped Mae to sleep through the night) and woke up safely the next morning, climbed onto my chest and shook me awake.

The first thing I saw when I opened my eyes was Mae smiling at me :)

In this post, I would like to share with you the safety measures that we put into place to prepare for Mae's first night in toddler bed - to clarify, Mae is sleeping on a single sized adult bed.

24 September 2017 - Experience Jubilee in These End Times - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online

Jubilee is not for the world. The world will get worse and worse.

Isaiah 59:21-60:2 - Praying in tongues can only happen under grace.
It is a unique gift in the New Covenant of grace. Under the Old Covenant, no one prays in tongues.
You cannot pray in tongues and be legalistic.
When we pray in tongues, the glory of the Lord will be seen upon us.
The Lord will bring your sons and daughters back to you if they have left home. Restoration of family relationships.
There will be a wealth transfer (financial provision) in these last days.
The Gentiles work to accumulate the wealth and God passes to whoever He sees as righteous in His eyes, which are believers like us.

““As for Me,” says the LORD, “this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,” says the LORD, “from this time and forevermore.” “Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.” The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising. “Lift up your eyes all around, and see: They all gather together, they come to you; Your sons shall come from afar, And your daughters shall be nursed at your side. Then you shall see and become radiant, And your heart shall swell with joy; Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.” (Isaiah 59:21-60:5 NKJV)

17 September 2017 - Put on the Whole Armor of God to Stand on Victory Ground - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online

If you want to be liberated from the demonic spirit of heaviness, one of the best ways is to worship and praise God.

“To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”” (Isaiah 61:3 NKJV)

If somebody has wronged you, forgive the person for your own good. You were designed to operate by love, not by hatred or bitterness.

Ephesians 6:11-18 - Demons can manifest as spirits of infirmity and cause sickness.
The woman who was bent over for 18 years had a spirit of infirmity and she was healed by Jesus.
It's not always necessary to call out the demon by name in order to cast it out.
We stand because we are on victory ground. We pray from victory, not for victory.
A prayer made from desperation will not work. Pray knowing that God loves you.
The epistle to the Ephesians is divided into three parts: Wealth (rest, sit), Walk, Warfare (stand).
The devil wants to move you from the victory ground, but you must continue to stand on it.
All the part of the Armor of God represent doctrinal truths in the Gospel, not of the Old Covenant.
These are objective truths, not subjective truths.
If you have wrong believing in any area of these, that's where the devil will attack you.
Truth (as a belt): To hold your outfit together and to keep your weapons in.
Breastplate of Righteousness: Your inward man must be protected by knowing that you are the righteousness of God in Christ.
Gospel of Peace (as shoes): You will stand on firm footing when you have the gospel of peace.
Shield of Faith: Rely on believing in God for your justification rather than on your own obedience.
Helmet of Salvation: This helmet must be received.
Verse 18 if translated correctly like in Young's Living Translation should begin with the word "through" (in Greek: "dia").
We receive the helmet of salvation and sword of the spirit by the means of praying in tongues.

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—” (Ephesians 6:11-18 NKJV)

5 Life Lessons and Moral Value from Pennywise the Dancing Clown in Stephen King's It 2017 Movie

Pennywise the Dancing Clown: "You'll Float Down Here, We All Float Down Here, Yes We Do!"

Leading Cast of Stephen King's It 2017 Movie:
Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise the Dancing Clown (a.k.a. "It")
Jaeden Lieberher as Bill Denbrough
Finn Wolfhard as Richie Tozier
Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben Hanscom
Sophia Lillis as Beverly Marsh
Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie Kaspbrak
Chosen Jacobs as Mike Hanlon
Wyatt Oleff as Stanley Uris
Jackson Robert Scott as Georgie Denbrough

First off, I want to clarify that the movie is directed by Andy Muschietti and is based on the bestselling novel "It" that was written by Stephen King.
Now that it's clear, let's begin with the post :)

1) Everyone is afraid of something.

Bill: "I saw something. There was this…"
Eddie: "A clown. Yeah, I saw him too."

Pennywise the Dancing Clown preyed on the fears of the kids in the "Losers Club":
Bill was afraid that his little brother Georgie was dead.
Richie was afraid of clowns (how convenient for Pennywise!).
Eddie was afraid of germs, sickness and disease.
Beverly was feeling afraid as she just started to have her period.
Ben was afraid of the headless boy in the history book.
Mike was haunted by the memory of his parents burning to death in the meat factory.

What are you most afraid of? Feel free to share it in the comments below!

10 September 2017 - Praying in Tongues: The Weapon that Builds You Up - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online

Synopsis: Pastor Joseph Prince focused on one benefit of the gift of praying in tongues: it builds us up, especially our body which is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Keep using this heavenly gift which banishes fear, anxiety, addictions, depression, sickness and more!

We are living in increasingly dangerous times, thereby leading us to feel stressed, anxious and worried.
We don't know if there will be a world war three before Jesus comes back.
But one thing is for sure: we need to know the promises of Psalm 91.
There is a place in Christ that we can be protected.

Acts 2:1-4 - On the birthday of the church, the first present that God gave them is a prayer language.
The Law was also given on the Day of Pentecost and there was fire on Mount Sinai.
When the Holy Spirit came, He also came as tongues of fire.
When the Law was given, 3000 people died.
When the Holy Spirit came, Peter preached and 3000 people were saved.
The letter (the Law) kills but the Spirit gives life.

“When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:1-4 NKJV)

The Father always loved His Son Jesus. Jesus obeyed the Father perfectly.
The book of Isaiah says that it pleased the Father to crush Jesus at the cross because of His great love for us.

The Law demands righteousness from man, whereas Grace supplies righteousness to man.

Acts 2:11-13 - It's no longer about how bad man is, but about how good God is.
It's no longer about the puny works of man, but about the wonderful works of God.
When you pray in tongues, you are proclaiming the wonderful works of God and enlarging your spirit.

“Cretans and Arabs--we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.” So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean?” Others mocking said, “They are full of new wine.”” (Acts 2:11-13 NKJV)

Pray in #tongues whenever you can! You never know what protection you are receiving or what destiny is being shaped for you as you pray it in faith. #Holy angels war against demonic powers when you yield your tongue to the Holy Spirit! ? RT!

All Scripture is inspired of God, but not every word in Scripture is the Gospel.

Exodus 21:1-6 - After God gave the Ten Commandments, He gave a statute about bondservants.
The Bondservant refers to our Lord Jesus.
Jesus could have returned to Heaven at any time without us, but He chose to stay and die at the cross, in full submission to the will of the Father.
Jesus is still the divine servant today. When John saw him in a vision, Jesus was wearing a golden girdle (servants wore a girdle).

““Now these are the judgments which you shall set before them: If you buy a Hebrew servant, he shall serve six years; and in the seventh he shall go out free and pay nothing. If he comes in by himself, he shall go out by himself; if he comes in married, then his wife shall go out with him. If his master has given him a wife, and she has borne him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself. But if the servant plainly says, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free,’ then his master shall bring him to the judges. He shall also bring him to the door, or to the doorpost, and his master shall pierce his ear with an awl; and he shall serve him forever.” (Exodus 21:1-6 NKJV)

After Jesus rose from the dead, He appeared to the two disciples on the Road to Emmaus and expounded to all things concerning Himself.
He restrained their eyes from recognizing Him in person because He wanted to give us all an equal opportunity to see Him in the word of God.
The disciples said between themselves, "Did not our hearts burn...". A ministry from the Lord will lead to burning hearts.

The Greek translation says: Faith comes by hearing and hearing the spoken word of Christ (rhematos Christou).
