24 June 2018 - Jesus Draws Near when you are Discouraged (at Caesarea Maritima) - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed:
Pastor Prince preached this sermon on 11 March 2018 live in Israel. Paul preached the gospel from Caesarea Maritima westwards, to USA. Israel is the center of the world. And now, the gospel continues to be preached westwards, reaching Korea and China. The path of the righteous shines brighter and brighter until the perfect day. Finally the gospel will come one full circle and reach Jerusalem again. The gospel is not about do good, get good, do bad, get bad. The gospel is called the gospel of grace, or the gospel of peace. Galatians 1:6-9 - A different gospel is any other gospel than the grace of Christ. Paul pronounced a double curse on anyone who preaches any other gospel. Whoever preaches the true gospel will be doubly blessed. “I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:6-9 NKJV) When God gave the Law on Mount Sinai on the first Pentecost for Israel, 3000 people died. When God gave the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, 3000 were saved. The Law kills, while Grace gives life. Romans 6:14 - The Law shows a reflection of sin, not of righteousness. It is a holy mirror that shows you as you are. The devil has put fences around grace and we need to rediscover the gospel that Paul preached. The Law is about do, Grace is about done. There is only one thing left do under Grace: rest in what Jesus has done. Under the Old Testament, the priests must not gird themselves with anything that causes them to sweat - we need to rest in God. We pray from victory, not for victory. “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” (Romans 6:14 NKJV)

17 June 2018 - The Power in Knowing God as your Father - Pastor Lawrence Lim Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed: (I missed out songs before this)
Last year in September 2017, the Lord spoke to Pastor Joseph Prince to pray for the salvation of North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un. At that time relations between USA and North Korea were very tense. But praise Jesus that just a few days ago, Singapore hosted the Trump-Kim Summit. In just less than a year, relations turned around for good. It’s like a heavenly wink from God. President Donald Trump called Singapore a country of profound grace and beauty. Of all the words he could have said, he said “grace”. A word that we in New Creation Church are so familiar with. Prayer changes everything. You can pray and things will turn around for your good. Just coming to service on Sunday is not enough - We need to be in constant contact with God’s word throughout the week. We also need to be constantly connected through kingdom friendships. John 17:6 - The prayer in John 17 is the longest prayer by Jesus recorded in the Bible. It is called the High Priestly Prayer because He was interceding for us to God. Jesus looked into the future and was interceding for us who would believe in Him. Jesus came to reveal a name of God that was not commonly known to the people. There are many names of God: Elohim (Creator God - it’s a plural name which points to the triune nature of God), Yahweh (Covenant-keeping God), El-Shaddai (Almighty God), and more. Jesus came to reveal the name “Father” (Abba). The name of God as Father was revealed in the Old Testament but it was not commonly used. Examples of places in the Old Testament where God is referred to as Father: Psalm 103 and Isaiah 9. ““I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.” (John 17:6 NKJV) “As a father pities his children, So the LORD pities those who fear Him.” (Psalms 103:13 NKJV) “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6 NKJV) John 17:11-12 - When you know God as Father, there is a protective power made available for you. If you call God “Creator”, you will feel distant from Him. If you call God “Father”, you will feel close and there is an intimacy. Fear is irrational. When we feel fearful, we can run to our Heavenly Father Who is completely fearless. “Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.” (John 17:11-12 NKJV) Psalm 91 is saying that the protection we yearn for is found when we are near to God. We are so close to God - we are in the shadow of the Almighty. 10 June 2018 - Cry out to God and be Filled with His Goodness - New Creation Church Sermon Notes (Pastor Lim Lian Neo)Praise and Worship songs performed:
Proverbs 3:13 - God wants us to have wisdom because He wants us to be happy. Nothing else can compare with wisdom because wisdom is Jesus Himself. “Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding; For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies, And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.” (Proverbs 3:13-15 NKJV) Psalm 107:43 - Lovingkindness in Hebrew is “hesed”. “Whoever is wise will observe these things, And they will understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.” (Psalms 107:43 NKJV) Psalm 107:1-3 - If you’re going through a challenge, that challenge won’t endure forever. God’s grace will endure forever in your life! The context of this passage: The Lord delivered the children of Israel from Babylonian captivity through king Cyrus. “Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, And gathered out of the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south.” (Psalms 107:1-3 NKJV) Psalm 107:4-5 - These people have lost their way. “They wandered in the wilderness in a desolate way; They found no city to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty, Their soul fainted in them.” (Psalms 107:4-5 NKJV) Psalm 107:10-12 - These people have lost their freedom. “Those who sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, Bound in affliction and irons— Because they rebelled against the words of God, And despised the counsel of the Most High, Therefore He brought down their heart with labor; They fell down, and there was none to help.” (Psalms 107:10-12 NKJV) Psalm 107:17-18 - These people have lost their health by their own fault. Even if your problem is of your own making, through hesed wisdom, God can still deliver you out of it. “Fools, because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, were afflicted. Their soul abhorred all manner of food, And they drew near to the gates of death.” (Psalms 107:17-18 NKJV) Psalm 107:23-27 - These people have lost their hope. The Lord is dealing with the enemies of Israel (the world). Sometimes we get involved with the things of the world and get caught up in what God is doing against them. “Those who go down to the sea in ships, Who do business on great waters, They see the works of the LORD, And His wonders in the deep. For He commands and raises the stormy wind, Which lifts up the waves of the sea. They mount up to the heavens, They go down again to the depths; Their soul melts because of trouble. They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, And are at their wits’ end.” (Psalms 107:23-27 NKJV) 3 June 2018 - Give Jesus your Cares and Live Stress-Free - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed: Peace Be Still - The Belonging Co featuring Lauren Daigle Wonder (Grace Made Real) - New Creation Worship One Thing Remains - Jesus Culture I Exalt Thee - Pete Sanchez Jr. This sermon was originally preached by Pastor Prince at Lakewood Church. Jesus’ grace is attracted to and made perfect in your weaknesses. Grace flows in the worry-free areas of your life. If you can’t discern what God is doing behind the scenes, just look at what the devil is doing. God never plays catch up. The devil plays catch up. What the devil does is visible and palpable. It’s easier to see what he’s doing. When baby Moses was born, the devil instigated Pharaoh to throw all the baby boys into the River Nile. Yet at that time a champion was born. The devil was playing catch up. When Jesus was born, it was a silent night. It was quiet, not loud. The devil instigated King Herod to slaughter all the babies under the age of two. If you were a Hebrew mother at that time, how would you feel? It seemed to be the worst of times, but actually the devil was playing catch up to what God has done. What the devil does manifests really fast. That’s like how Ishmael came from Hagar. Things born of the flesh are temporal. Things born of God may take a longer time to manifest, but they are sure and lasting. That’s like how Isaac came from Sarah after a long wait. 27 May 2018 - The Law of Plunder: No Battle No Spoils - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed: (I missed out the ones before - please let me know if you remember the songs) God You’re So Good - Passion The people who fight for the Law most of the time can’t even memorize the Ten Commandments. We are dead to the Law. It is possible to obey the Commandment not to steal and yet you can remain a miser (stingy). It is possible to obey the Commandment not to commit adultery, and yet you can have a loveless marriage. Grace always empowers one to go further: to be generous and loving. People who have a bondage to pornography will have an unhappy marriage with lots of strife. There will be a lack of sexual satisfaction with the spouse. Pastor Prince shared a testimony about a student who was bound to pornography. He was delivered by regularly declaring that he is the righteousness of God in Christ. Confess it even if you feel like a hypocrite saying it. There is power in the confession. People should sense royalty when you come into a room - not pride or ‘holier than thou’ attitude, but a dignity like Jesus. Numbers 31:25-31 - Eleazar was the High Priest after Aaron. Eleazar was Aaron’s son. Eleazar means “Helper”. To be in touch with the High Priest means touching nearness to God. Today our High Priest is Jesus. Through Him we have nearness to God. The Levites were the assistants to the priests. The priests assisted the High Priest. There are degrees of closeness to God: Jesus had 70 disciples. Out of the 70, there were the 12 disciples who walked closely with Jesus. Out of the 12, there were 3 disciples - Peter, James and John who were in Jesus’ inner circle. Out of the 3, there was 1 - John. The closest to Jesus, who leaned on and listened to the heartbeat of God. The plunder is divided into two parts. Between: 1) Those who went to battle, 2) The congregation (who didn’t go to battle). The Lord gets a tribute as well - similar to the tithing principle. The heave offering (In Hebrew: Terumah) is one of the highest offerings to give to the Lord. It is given to the high priest - the one who is nearest to God. The ones who went to battle give 1 out of every 500 as a tribute to the Lord. The ones who stayed back from battle give 1 out of every 50 as a tribute to the Lord. The ones who went to battle get much more spoils - 10 times more. They are nearer to God. Today our battles are spiritual: we battle/labor by spending time in God’s word to uncover treasures from it. Those who labor in the word will receive much more spoils and nearness to God than those who just use the sermons from others who spent time to meditate on God’s word. We can also go to battle by serving the Lord despite all the attacks from the enemy. Those who didn’t go to battle pay their tributes to the Levites. The offering doesn’t go higher. “Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: “Count up the plunder that was taken—of man and beast—you and Eleazar the priest and the chief fathers of the congregation; and divide the plunder into two parts, between those who took part in the war, who went out to battle, and all the congregation. And levy a tribute for the LORD on the men of war who went out to battle: one of every five hundred of the persons, the cattle, the donkeys, and the sheep; take it from their half, and give it to Eleazar the priest as a heave offering to the LORD. And from the children of Israel’s half you shall take one of every fifty, drawn from the persons, the cattle, the donkeys, and the sheep, from all the livestock, and give them to the Levites who keep charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.” So Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.” (Numbers 31:25-31 NKJV) 23 May 2018 - Encounter Night: Times of the Gentiles (ABCs of Bible Prophecy) - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed:
To receive healing, just offer a simple prayer or a simple act of faith. Don’t over-complicate matters. God’s ways are simple but powerful. Don’t trust in dieting or exercise more than you trust in the Lord, for your health. We need to study Bible prophecy because it strengthens and stabilizes us. Wisdom is the stability of your times. It is wrong to think that it will all pan out anyway so there’s no need to study Bible prophecy. Luke 21:24 - Times of the Gentiles: from AD 70 until 1967. “And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.” (Luke 21:24 NKJV) God sent Israel prophet after prophet to tell them not to worship idols or forsake Him. When Israel stopped offering sacrifices, there was nothing to cover Israel’s sins anymore. Then King Nebuchadnezzar came in to destroy Jerusalem and capture the Jews for exile to Babylon. God wanted Israel to be an example of blessing when people obey the Lord. He wanted to provoke the other nations to jealousy. Israel was supposed to be a lighthouse. However, they rebelled against God so God raised up Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom as a world power instead. Daniel and his three friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah were some of the young Jews who were exiled to Babylon. This message will help you to tap into the wisdom of the Lord to get the answers you need. 20 May 2018 - Know Your Eternal Calling from God - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed:
God’s calling for us is eternal and it goes beyond this life. God has prepared Heaven, Paradise, the New Jerusalem or whatever you want to call it, for us to dwell in and enjoy forever. God has designed our new spiritual bodies to be able to enjoy the pleasures and blessings of our eternal call. Jesus redeemed us by His blood, but there are still enemies who refuse to leave. The land has been purchased but the tenants are still staying in the squatters. Soon the Lord will come back in power to evict the enemies. I Kings 4:29-34 - God called the Jews and because of their calling, He is able to bless them with the wisdom to tap into their brainpower. The wisdom from God is not received through education. Education just allows us to accumulate knowledge. Wisdom is the ability to use the knowledge which we have. The Book of Proverbs says that the spirit of a man is the candle of the Lord. The Lord can give you inspiration through your spirit. “And God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore. Thus Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the men of the East and all the wisdom of Egypt. For he was wiser than all men— than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and his fame was in all the surrounding nations. He spoke three thousand proverbs, and his songs were one thousand and five. Also he spoke of trees, from the cedar tree of Lebanon even to the hyssop that springs out of the wall; he spoke also of animals, of birds, of creeping things, and of fish. And men of all nations, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom, came to hear the wisdom of Solomon.” (I Kings 4:29-34 NKJV) Proverbs 2:6 - Knowledge and understanding come from the breath of God. “For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;” (Proverbs 2:6 NKJV) II Timothy 3:13-17 - The words “inspiration of God” means God-breathed. It was the breath of God that made man a living being. If the word of God is God-breathed then we need it for every area of our lives. We can read the Bible and receive the breath of God. We live in times where people say right is wrong and wrong is right. We need to define things correctly for our children, if not the world will teach them its values. Holiness is not about looking down on people and saying “don’t come near me because I’m holier than you”. Holiness means uncommonness - it means being set apart for God’s plans and purposes. When people walk with you, they are able to sense that you’re homely and approachable, but there’s something morally different about you: When most people are crushed and looking for answers, you walk certainly because you know who made you. When most people are anxious and fearful, you have peace. The Big Bang Theory which excludes God from creation can’t be true: Everything that is blown up goes into chaos and disarray - it doesn’t result in order. We live in a world with lots of suppositions but we know the truth: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The word wise in “able to make you wise” is “Sophizo” in Greek. In Hebrew it is “Chokmah”. The word of God is able to give you the wisdom to be saved from whatever trials you’re facing. It is able to supply whatever you need. “But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (II Timothy 3:13-17 NKJV) 13 May 2018 - Find Rest in Being Quick to Listen - New Creation Church Sermon Notes - Pastor Mark Ng Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed: Hearts on Fire - New Creation Worship Wonderful (Grace Made Real) - New Creation Worship On and On - Housefires Build My Life - Brett Younker Power of your Presence - Jodie Teyna Whatever God calls for, He will definitely supply and bless. Mothers have a special blessing to supply them for their parenting role. God wants to bless the ‘Marthas’. Martha is an elder sister so she’s used to sacrificing, giving and serving. It comes from a place of love. But she forgot that Jesus was in her home and that she can receive and rest in Him. Miriam was Moses’ elder sister. She was running by the riverside to make sure that Moses was safe. Miriam told the Egyptian princess about her mum who can nurse Moses for her. Miriam was worried and looking out for Moses’ well-being. Elder sisters must learn how to let go when God comes into their lives. James 1:19-20 - Sarai became Sarah. She was a domineering woman and she needed to know that she is a princess (Sarah means Princess) in Christ, that she can rest. We need to learn to be quick to listen, and slow to speak. This is humility and helping to improve the family connection. God wants a woman to woo her man: to respect her husband and have a great relationship with her husband. Don’t only talk with him about the kids. Remember that you and your husband are important too. This will prevent loneliness in the future when the kids are all grown up and when only you and your husband are left at home. “So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” (James 1:19-20 NKJV) You need the Lord in every step of your life. Students who are believers have an unfair advantage: parents can’t follow them into the exam hall but the Holy Spirit can. God wants to be unfairly good to you. God is kind and merciful: He also knows how you feel and your pains. God calls us endearingly by name: Martha, Martha. He knows that we are concerned about many things. God wants us to stay young. Even though we grow in age, we can still have the same youthful appearance. The power of Christ in us has the ability to do that. What is the good part that Mary chose? Mary saw Jesus as the Almighty God who came to serve us. Mary could do the right thing at the right time: she was the only one who anointed Jesus for His burial before His death. 29 April 2018 - How to be Blessed: God’s Way - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed:
When people need healing, they tend to look for verses on healing and expect to be healed right away. However many times God is more interested in first bringing you out of occupation with self and bringing you into occupation with Christ. After hearing and hearing messages about Jesus and His loveliness, all of a sudden you realize that the faith you need to be healed is there. Genesis 12:2-3 - God wants to bless us to be a blessing. You are a blessing going somewhere to happen. This is the first place in the Bible where “blessing” is mentioned. Blessing (a noun) is first mentioned in the story of Abraham. The word for blessing in Hebrew is “Barak”. It is made up of three Hebrew letters. The first two Hebrew letters in the word is “Bar” which means “Son”. The last Hebrew letter in the word is a picture of an open hand. Together it means “the Son of the open hand”. Blessing in Hebrew is “Barakah”. It has an additional Hebrew letter “Hei”. Together, the Hebrew letters have the meaning of “The Son of the Open Hand of Grace”. Since Israel rejected God’s plan for them to be an example of blessing, God made them an example of cursing. Through the Law, no one can be blessed because man cannot keep the Law. If you come under the Law, you’ll be cursed. “I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”” (Genesis 12:2-3 NKJV) The definition of “blessing” by John N. Oswalt : To bless means to endue with power for success, prosperity, fecundity (fertility), longevity, etc. When God blesses you, He endues you with power. God is the only Source of blessing. A curse is an enduement of power for failure. Everything is heaven cannot be lesser than earth. Everything there is enhanced. For a believer, to live is Christ and to die is gain. Jesus is still a Man today in heaven. He is a Man in glory. Blessing will reverse the curse in your life. It doesn’t just remove what is negative, but it adds on what is of heaven. In heaven there is no shortage and there is nothing hurtful or destructive. At the end of the Book of Judges, it says that everyone did what was right in their own eyes. That’s what is happening today as well, especially on social media. No matter man’s opinions, we can’t change God’s ways of doing things. 25 April 2018 - Everything Good and Bad will Give God Praise - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Encounter Night Sermon NotesEven when things don’t seem to be working in your favor, God is working behind the scenes. Many times we don’t thank God for protection or help rendered that we don’t know about. Esther received favor from God. We need to receive and rely on His favor. Testimony: There was a student who memorized the whole Book of Proverbs and he received straight A’s for his school exams. When you touch God’s word, you touch the way to prosper you. When you meditate on God’s word, you will have good success and make your way prosperous. Psalm 1 - Those who meditate on God’s word will prosper in everything they do. Their leaf will always be green — renewal of youth and health. We need to listen to God’s word and not the news. The news says that as your days increase, you will get weaker and older. God’s word says that as your days increase, your strength will increase. That’s the opposite of what the world says. Don’t accept what the world says so easily. In the Book of Esther, the name of God is not mentioned. The name of God doesn’t appear in it, and yet you see God working behind the scenes. The Book of Esther is a book of God’s provision, not so much of His miracles. In Greek, “Provideo” - “Pro” means before, “video” means to see. God sees your need and provides the supply before you even know of your need. An acrostic: GRACE - God’s riches at Christ’s expense There are four hidden acrostics of the name Yahweh in the Book of Esther. Everytime an acrostic appears, it is a pivotal point in the story — a game-changing moment. Yahweh in Hebrew is made of the four Hebrew letters: Yud hei vav hei. English reads from left to right but the Hebrew language reads from right to left. Even when you don’t understand God’s word, you are still cleansed as you read or listen to it. One of the appearance of God’s name is God name “I AM”. Psalm 96:11 - This verse is an acrostic with Yud hei vav hei. Without the Lord, the heavens cannot be glad and the earth can’t rejoice. “Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice. Let the sea roar, and its fullness!” (Psalms 96:11 WEB) |
