27 May 2018 - The Law of Plunder: No Battle No Spoils - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon Notes

Praise and Worship songs performed:
(I missed out the ones before - please let me know if you remember the songs)
God You’re So Good - Passion

The people who fight for the Law most of the time can’t even memorize the Ten Commandments.
We are dead to the Law.

It is possible to obey the Commandment not to steal and yet you can remain a miser (stingy).
It is possible to obey the Commandment not to commit adultery, and yet you can have a loveless marriage.
Grace always empowers one to go further: to be generous and loving.

People who have a bondage to pornography will have an unhappy marriage with lots of strife.
There will be a lack of sexual satisfaction with the spouse.

Pastor Prince shared a testimony about a student who was bound to pornography. He was delivered by regularly declaring that he is the righteousness of God in Christ.
Confess it even if you feel like a hypocrite saying it. There is power in the confession.

People should sense royalty when you come into a room - not pride or ‘holier than thou’ attitude, but a dignity like Jesus.

Numbers 31:25-31 - Eleazar was the High Priest after Aaron. Eleazar was Aaron’s son.
Eleazar means “Helper”.
To be in touch with the High Priest means touching nearness to God.
Today our High Priest is Jesus. Through Him we have nearness to God.
The Levites were the assistants to the priests. The priests assisted the High Priest.
There are degrees of closeness to God: Jesus had 70 disciples. Out of the 70, there were the 12 disciples who walked closely with Jesus.
Out of the 12, there were 3 disciples - Peter, James and John who were in Jesus’ inner circle.
Out of the 3, there was 1 - John. The closest to Jesus, who leaned on and listened to the heartbeat of God.
The plunder is divided into two parts. Between: 1) Those who went to battle, 2) The congregation (who didn’t go to battle).
The Lord gets a tribute as well - similar to the tithing principle.
The heave offering (In Hebrew: Terumah) is one of the highest offerings to give to the Lord. It is given to the high priest - the one who is nearest to God.
The ones who went to battle give 1 out of every 500 as a tribute to the Lord.
The ones who stayed back from battle give 1 out of every 50 as a tribute to the Lord.
The ones who went to battle get much more spoils - 10 times more. They are nearer to God.
Today our battles are spiritual: we battle/labor by spending time in God’s word to uncover treasures from it.
Those who labor in the word will receive much more spoils and nearness to God than those who just use the sermons from others who spent time to meditate on God’s word.
We can also go to battle by serving the Lord despite all the attacks from the enemy.
Those who didn’t go to battle pay their tributes to the Levites. The offering doesn’t go higher.

“Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: “Count up the plunder that was taken—of man and beast—you and Eleazar the priest and the chief fathers of the congregation; and divide the plunder into two parts, between those who took part in the war, who went out to battle, and all the congregation. And levy a tribute for the LORD on the men of war who went out to battle: one of every five hundred of the persons, the cattle, the donkeys, and the sheep; take it from their half, and give it to Eleazar the priest as a heave offering to the LORD. And from the children of Israel’s half you shall take one of every fifty, drawn from the persons, the cattle, the donkeys, and the sheep, from all the livestock, and give them to the Levites who keep charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.” So Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.” (Numbers 31:25-31 NKJV)

The benefit is not for you alone - it is for the profit of the entire church. But because the Lord gave the revelation/benefit to you, you gain more than the others receiving it through you.

It is worth it to go through the battles - you will end up with rich spoils

Pastor Prince said that his sermons are meant to be shared and preached by others as well - it’s for the entire Body of Christ. This is the Benjamin generation.

Pastor Prince shared that he has a problem with people preaching his sermons and don’t acknowledge that they heard it from him, or they falsely claim that it is their original revelation.

People who listen to Pastor Prince’s sermons and live immoral lives didn’t get the same revelation as what the others hearing it received.

I Chronicles 26:27 - Out of your battles will come spoils. The spoils will also be for the house of the Lord.

“Some of the spoils won in battles they dedicated to maintain the house of the LORD.” (I Chronicles 26:27 NKJV)

Sometimes leaders of churches get spiritual attacks due to serving the Lord. Sometimes humans even help the enemy because of human sympathy -
Like How Peter told Jesus not to go to the cross, and Jesus rebuked him saying “Get behind me, Satan!”
Sometimes a wife out of concern for the husband will say “If you’re not feeling well, then stay home. Don’t need to go to church”.

A revelation that’s not tested in battle is still just a theory. It’s different when one preaching it has already tested the revelation in battle.

Pastor Prince wants leaders in the church to meditate on his sermons and revelations, internalize it, and make it theirs - add your own flavor to it.
Just like how the four gospels each have their writer’s distinct voice to them.

I Samuel 30:23-24 - There is a principle that if one person receives a benefit from the Lord, it is meant to be shared with the whole body of Christ.
David is really a man after God’s own heart.

“But David said, “My brethren, you shall not do so with what the LORD has given us, who has preserved us and delivered into our hand the troop that came against us. For who will heed you in this matter? But as his part is who goes down to the battle, so shall his part be who stays by the supplies; they shall share alike.”” (I Samuel 30:23-24 NKJV)

There were two sisters: Martha and Mary. Martha tried to guess the mind of the Lord and was focused on giving to Him.
Mary was receiving and learning directly from the mind of the Lord.
There was spiritual warfare going on: Through Martha, devil was trying to snatch Mary away from listening to Jesus.
When you sit at Jesus’ feet and receive from the Lord, you will be able to serve better.
When the Lord comes to your house, take from Him. That will honor Him as God.
The lesser is always blessed by the greater.
The benefit is not for you alone - it is for the profit of the entire church.
But because the Lord gave the revelation/benefit to you, you gain more than the others receiving it through you.

To leaders of the church: stop trafficking in truths that don’t warm your heart. Meditate on the sermons, receive the revelation, make it yours, then preach it.

Your suffering will cause you to come out to a wealthy place - you will experience God's enlargement on your life!

I Peter 5:10 - After your suffering, get ready to receive more strengthening and settling (stabilization) from God.

“But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.” (I Peter 5:10 NKJV)

I Peter 5:8-10 - "Suffering" is in the context of a devil attack. Even if the devil attacks you, there is an “after that”. Expect to be stronger after going through an attack.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.” (I Peter 5:8-10 NKJV)

Psalm 66:12 - Do you feel like people around you are getting promoted and going higher and higher while you're stuck?
The way you went in won’t be the way you come out. You will come out to a higher place!
The word “wealthy” in Hebrew is “revayah” which means overflowing.
The only other place this word is used is in Psalm 23 - my cup overflows.

“Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.” (Psalms 66:12 KJV)

Psalm 4:1 - The word “enlarged” in Hebrew is “rehoboth” which means to make room. You are enlarged (always a good thing with God) when you are in distress.

“Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.” (Psalms 4:1 KJV)

Jeremiah 48:11 - There are Christians who are fleshly, just like the people of the world.
They are like that because they always escape when the going gets tough, so they don’t grow through battles.
For example: Someone who jumps from job to job just because they experience a bit of unhappiness at work - they don't persevere through the difficulty.
They blame others, their boss, and the government for their failure to thrive at work.
This “scent” in the verse is talking about a fleshly (worldly) smell.

““Moab has been at ease from his youth; He has settled on his dregs, And has not been emptied from vessel to vessel, Nor has he gone into captivity. Therefore his taste remained in him, And his scent has not changed.” (Jeremiah 48:11 NKJV)

Pastor Prince’s Closing Prayer:
He prayed for us to be blessed throughout our holiday, to be protected, to be at the right place at the right time.
He prayed for our flights to be kept safe, for our faces to shine beyond the language of the country we’re vacationing in, and for our eyes to shine and reflect Jesus.
He prayed for us to have God’s shalom health, wellbeing and peace.

I highly recommend purchasing Pastor Prince's sermons on his mobile app "Joseph Prince" on Apple App Store or Google Play Store even after you read these notes as I may have missed out something he shared and the overall experience is definitely different when you listen to him preaching directly!
Use these notes as a revision guide instead of solely depending on them!

These sermon notes are independently-compiled by me, and I'm just a loyal and regular attendee of the the church's Sunday services, and I feel led to take detailed personal sermon notes of Pastor Prince's anointed messages to share them with the world, which desperately needs the true word of God and the original gospel of grace.

I feel blessed to be able to attend Pastor Joseph Prince's services in person, and would like to help everyone who isn't able to attend in person, to get hold of the messages as soon as it is preached!
