5 August 2018 - Hesed Wisdom that Leads you to Profit in Life - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church National Day Service

Praise and Worship songs performed:
(I missed out a song or two before this)
  1. Hearts on Fire - New Creation Church
  2. Reckless Love - Caleb Culver
  3. Great is the Lord - Steve McEwan

One of the reasons why God blesses Singapore so much is because it’s His way to bless the small, insignificant, weak of the earth to confound the mighty.

Make sure to pray for your nation - it is God’s righteousness that exalts a nation.

Every nation that fell, first fell from within. They fell morally first.

Pastor Prince received words of knowledge to pray for an elder lady who was diagnosed with cancer, for people who had severe ulcers, people with elbow pain, a person who was retrenched, a person with persistent tummy pain - it was a psychosomatic sickness, and a person who was being tempted to commit adultery with a male colleague at work.

God is a Spirit - there is no distance with the healing anointing. You can receive healing from Him right where you are.

God expects us to be diligent. Many people are confused about how to receive grace and yet be hardworking without making it works.

Colossians 3:23-24 - Even the mundane tasks at work, do it as unto the Lord.
You will receive your reward from the Lord, not your boss.

“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.” (Colossians 3:23-24 NKJV)

Whether He speaks to you by His word or by His Spirit, it is for your profit. When God teaches you to profit, you profit in every area of your life.
Whether He speaks to you by His word or by His Spirit, it is for your profit. When God teaches you to profit, you profit in every area of your life.

God's word teaches us how to profit

Isaiah 48:17 - God teaches us to profit. He wants us to be successful through Him. God is already very successful - His word was not written for Him, but for you.
Joshua was told to meditate on God’s word day and night and then he will have good success.
Good success means that you will be enriched without compromising another area of life.
While Joshua was reading God’s written word, God gave him the spoken word.
When you read God’s word, He can speak to you.
Whether He speaks to you by His word or by His Spirit, it is for your profit.
When God teaches you to profit, you profit in every area of your life.
Sin is something that always destroys profit.
Taking drugs and smoking is sinful because it’s defiling the temple of God (your body).
Don’t reach for Panadol every time there’s a little discomfort or headache.
Fight it with your body for a while and believe for healing.
Man-made drugs always have bad side effects.

“Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go.” (Isaiah 48:17 NKJV)

Under the Law, the Temple outer court was always very busy.
But in the Holy of Holies was perfect peace.
You can be busy on the outside, but feel completely at peace in your spirit.

Rest doesn’t mean being lazy. The Bible says if someone will not work, then neither shall he eat.
Rest is directed activity, not inactivity.
Some people need to get up and find a job.
Some parents need to stop watching their children getting away with severe misbehavior, and start to discipline them.
Rebelling children actually want you to discipline them - they will feel loved and at rest.

How do you know that a church is for you? When you’re in a service and you feel life flowing, like you’re being spiritually-fed.

I Chronicles 12:16-18 - When the men of Benjamin and Judah came to David, he asked them “are you for me or for my enemies?”.
The Spirit of the Lord came upon Amasai (chief of the captains), and he answered “We are yours, O David”.
Then the men became part of David's mighty men.
Why didn’t David ask “Are you for the Lord or for my enemies”? God uses people.
God uses men to teach us accountability and submission.

"Then some of the sons of Benjamin and Judah came to David at the stronghold. And David went out to meet them, and answered and said to them, “If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart will be united with you; but if to betray me to my enemies, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers look and bring judgment.” Then the Spirit came upon Amasai, chief of the captains, and he said: “We are yours, O David; We are on your side, O son of Jesse! Peace, peace to you, And peace to your helpers! For your God helps you.” So David received them, and made them captains of the troop." (I Chronicles 12:16-18 NKJV)

In I Kings 4 (after the chapter where Solomon asked for wisdom from God), there’s a list of Solomon’s administration.
One of the people in Solomon’s administration is his friend, and there’s also a remembrancer.
One of the first few things that Solomon did after receiving wisdom was to surround himself with wise men.
He who walks with wise men will be wise.
The wiser you are, the more you don’t take things for granted.
The first name mentioned is a priest - Solomon’s Pastor. He prioritized his spiritual health.

Jesus as a young boy surrounded Himself with the wise men (religious leaders of Israel) at the temple.
He did the right things at the right time - He didn’t preach as a young child, but He asked the wise men questions as it was appropriate to do so.

At twelve years old, Jesus submitted to His parents (Joseph and Mary) even though He is God and is wiser than them.
When He did so, He increased in wisdom.

Women are smarter than men but still God commands wives to submit to their husbands.
This is not inferiority/inequality but difference in functions.
God wants men to protect and love their wives.
Wives, let your husbands do that (eg. open doors for you, pull out a chair for you, etc.) and don’t lose that.

Romans 6:14 - Grace is God giving whereas Law is God demanding. Grace and supply are synonymous.
When you’re conscious of the supply from God, that’s rest.
When you’re conscious of the many demands in your life, that’s you being effectively under Law.
When you’re conscious of the demands but know that you’re going to receive so much supply to meet them, that’s you being effectively under grace.

“For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” (Romans 6:14 NKJV)

Esther was selected as the new queen of the kingdom through the huge beauty contest after Queen Vashti was removed from the throne.
Esther didn’t want anything except for what the king’s Eunuch Haggai (his name means meditate) recommended to her.
Before you see someone promoted and honored, that person showed humility.

Wisdom is when we're being led by the Holy Spirit

Matthew 11:28-30 - God doesn’t want to do things His way without us.
He wants us to co-labor with Him. Our role is just to obey God.
Jesus said “take My yoke upon you and learn from Me”.
He was speaking to the people who were laborers and farmers who understood the analogy that He gave.
A more experienced, older cow is yoked to a younger, weaker cow to teach the younger cow. Just like how we are yoked with Jesus.
The younger cow better follow the older one when it moves, if not the young one will end up with a stiff neck.
It’s a matter of flowing with God. When God moves left, you follow. When God stops, you stop too.
Sometimes God gives you a desire to read something now, but when you procrastinate and leave it for later, the flow is no longer there.

When the older cow drinks and you drink too, the flow is great!

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV)

Galatians 5:18 - If you are being led by the Spirit then you’re not under Law.
Your counsel (from the Holy Spirit) will never tell you to go against your church appointed leadership.
It will never tell you to go against your marriage.
It will never tell you to commit adultery.
It will never tell you to rebel against what is clearly written in God’s word.

“But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.” (Galatians 5:18 NKJV)

John 24:25-27 - The word "Helper" in Greek is Paraclete. The Holy Spirit is your Paraclete (the One who comes alongside you) and He will teach you all things in life, even about parenting.
The Holy Spirit is also a Remembrancer, reminding you about God’s ways and word.
When God had His way in the Garden of Eden, man was healthy and prosperous.
God’s same throne of judgment is the Throne of Grace for us.
All believers will stand before the Bema Seat of Christ to receive rewards.
We will never stand before the Great White Throne for Judgment.
God will work at your level of faith. Trust God to work at your level.
The Holy Spirit teaches you on the wavelength of peace.
If you don’t feel the peace regarding something, then don’t do it.
In a multitude of counselors there is safety.
Women are more intuitive and they sense things about people faster than men can.
If you’re a husband and your wife gets a sensing like this, don’t go asking for a logical reason. She’s receiving an intuition.
The default mode for a Christian is peace. But when that peace is disturbed, then don’t go ahead with what caused the disturbance - the Spirit is saying “no, be careful, stay away”.
God’s word says to let peace be an “umpire” in your heart -
An umpire watches over a game and blows the whistle when there is an “out”.

““These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:25-27 NKJV)

In heaven we will walk on streets of gold and everything will be perfect.

James 1:5-7 - Whatever need you have now that is staring you in the face, the number one thing you need to do is ask God for wisdom.
James 1 is in the context of going through trials.
When you ask God for wisdom He will give it to you liberally and He won’t scold you.
After receiving wisdom, start doing the thing that God is leading you to do. Then the Holy Spirit can lead you.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;” (James 1:5-7 NKJV)

Romans 8:14-16 - The word “adoption” should be “sonship” (in Greek, “huios”).
The name “Father” is the one that God wants us to know Him by - it is also the most intimate name of God.
Those who are least spiritual use God’s name (attribute something to Him when it’s not) the most.
To “bear witness” in a court means to testify that something in the past has happened and is true.
Even if you listen to a sermon that says you can lose your salvation, something in your spirit will tell you “no it’s not true”, if you’re willing to listen.
One way to allow God to bear witness to your spirit is to get moving.
Don’t just stay at home and do nothing and expect God to send Michael the Archangel to come to you in your room or something. That’s not God’s way.
Don’t go by what you see - sense what you feel in your spirit as you move.
If you’re looking for a job, go through interviews and get a sensing.
One way God leads: If you feel the life shrinking in you, it’s not the right way, but if the life expands, then it’s the right way.
Rest is Spirit-direct activity, not inactivity.
If there’s no action, there’s nothing to bear witness to.
God cannot guide a parked car.
Don’t be paralyzed by the fear of coming under the Law.

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,” (Romans 8:14-16 NKJV)

I Samuel 16:1 - Saul was oppressed by a demon of depression at that time and the Philistines were mocking Israel.
God has every need provided for even long before there was a need.
God did not name the son of Jesse that He chose, so Samuel had to go to Jesse’s house to wait for God to tell him which son would be the new king.
David was the last son to be remembered by his father and to be seen by Samuel.
Do you feel like David sometimes - the one who is last to be picked, remembered, etc?
Yet he was the one that God chose to be the new king.
God doesn’t bypass that process of meeting people face to face.
Many times God won’t speak to us about a person until we are in front of him or her.

“Now the LORD said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons.”” (I Samuel 16:1 NKJV)

When the Apostle Paul wanted to go preach in a certain nation, the Holy Spirit forbade him from going to preach the gospel there.
Some people think “I don’t care as long as the gospel is preached”, but what if God didn’t want you to preach there at this time?
Doing the right thing at the wrong time makes it wrong.

As Paul was journeying to Rome, he ended up in a shipwreck with the Roman soldiers who were escorting him there.
They did not listen to Paul’s God-inspired warning of the incoming storm and they ended up in disaster.
They ended up on the island called Malta (which means “honey” which reminds us of the Promised Land flowing with milk and homey).
You can either reach your destination by floating on planks, or smoothly by God’s way when you obey His wisdom.

1) Ask God for wisdom to profit in every area in your life.
2) Get counsellors around you to give you good and wise advice.
3) Get moving and allow the Holy Spirit to bear witness in you.
And if all these things are already done, if things need be, God will give you a vision to guide you in the right direction.
Never seek a vision first. The devil can deceive you with false visions.

It is easy to hear God’s voice. Jesus said “My sheep hear My voice”.
You can pray to become more sensitive to God’s voice.
Even babies can distinguish their mothers’ voice among a group of women who are speaking.

Pastor Prince’s Closing Prayer:
He prayed for us to hone our skills to become more sensitive to God’s voice, to become trophies of God’s grace that display His supernatural touch on our lives, and for us and our families to be protected everywhere we go in Jesus’ name!

I highly recommend purchasing Pastor Prince's sermons on his mobile app "Joseph Prince" on Apple App Store or Google Play Store even after you read these notes as I may have missed out something he shared and the overall experience is definitely different when you listen to him preaching directly!
Use these notes as a revision guide instead of solely depending on them!

These sermon notes are independently-compiled by me, and I'm just a loyal and regular attendee of the the church's Sunday services, and I feel led to take detailed personal sermon notes of Pastor Prince's anointed messages to share them with the world, which desperately needs the true word of God and the original gospel of grace.

I feel blessed to be able to attend Pastor Joseph Prince's services in person, and would like to help everyone who isn't able to attend in person, to get hold of the messages as soon as it is preached!
