1 July 2018 - Speak to the Rock and Receive your Supply - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed: (Please let me know if I missed out any song titles before this)
Your need cannot be greater than God’s supply. Sometimes God allows us to come into a place of need so that we can see what is in our heart. He is not the Source of it and He does not cause the lack, but He allows it to happen. It’s times of testing that reveals what’s in our heart. Times of need also reveals what’s in His heart and we see all the supply that’s prepared for us. God never wanted the children of Israel to wander in the wilderness. God never brings you out to leave you hanging on your own. God brings you out to bring you into somewhere else. He brings you out to bring you in! The promised land “flows” with milk and honey - it is a picture of abundance. “Milk” reminds us of a mother, providing milk for her child. The milk comes from mother grace. God has moved mountains - He not at Mount Sinai anymore, but Mount Zion. Our mother is Sarah (Grace) not Hagar (the Law). “Honey” reminds us of cooperation - bees have work together to bring the pollen back to the hive to make honey. In the church, we are interdependent. The Christian life is not meant to be lived alone. If God has given you a revelation which others have not received yet, be kind to those who didn’t receive the revelation yet because God was kind to you. He could have given the revelation to that person instead of you. Sending the twelve spies was not Moses’ idea. It was the children of Israel’s own idea. God had already said that the land flows with milk and honey. Ten of the spies came back with a bad report, saying that there were giants and that they (Israel) were grasshoppers in their sight. Only Joshua and Caleb had a spirit of faith and encouraged the people to go up and take the land. In Hebrew, Joshua and Caleb said that the land is a “very very” good land. The Christian life is much better than the life in Egypt that we came out from.
