1) When you can’t see the future ahead, you just need to do the next right thing.

This is wise! Life is to be lived like this—step by step, day by day, moment by moment, so that the challenges don’t overwhelm us.

Notice that it says “right” thing and not anything that you feel like doing. Your way out of a crisis is to wisely take small right actions and not allow yourself to spiral down to depression.

Do what Anna did. Amidst the darkness and loss, she picked herself up, took small steps and thought of a plan.

Anna and Olaf shared really sweet moments throughout the film. It culminated into a really sad moment in that cave!

2) It helps to have a trusted confidante.

Elsa’s bad habit is that she bottles up her feelings and problems. This stems from her past of hiding her magical powers from everyone—“conceal don’t feel, don’t let them know.”

She doesn’t want others to be burdened, and yet she takes everyone’s burdens upon herself.

Thankfully she has Anna to encourage her to share the woes and relieve some of the burdens. Who’s that trusted confidante in your life? Someone who loves you truly.

Don’t share your problems with just anyone. Some may use the information to betray you. Use discernment in deciding who can be trusted.

Throughout the movie we see that the sisterly love between Elsa and Anna was stronger than the love between Anna and Kristoff. The sisters would rush into the face of danger just to save each other!

3) Just when you thought you’ve got it all figured out, life will throw you a new, different path.

These wise words were said by Arendelle’s Lieutenant Destin Matthias after being being magically trapped in the forest for so many years.

It’s true, sometimes the unexpected hits you when you’re totally unprepared for it. That’s how life is, and the only thing in this world we can expect to be consistent is change.

Knowing this, we can choose to be grateful for every blessing we are enjoying now and treasure them while they last.

If you’re in a bad place now, the good news is that it will pass too. Tough times can build tough people—it develops your character and patience amidst adversity.

I really liked Lieutanent Destin Matthias' little speech in this scene.

4) Fear is what can’t be trusted.

King Runeard (Elsa’s grandfather) wanted to eliminate the Northuldra tribe because they had magical help from the forest, so he viewed them as a big threat to his kingdom.

A big-hearted man would see the strengths of others as an opportunity for collaboration—to use each others’ strengths to build something even greater together.

On the other hand, a narrow-hearted man would feel threatened by the strengths of others. These men are the type who will break others’ legs so that they win a race themselves.

Nothing born out of fear is good. Fear keeps us weak and it drives us to make poor decisions. The next time you’re faced with choices, choose what stems from love instead of what stems from fear.

5) Sometimes the truth can be difficult to accept.

To find out that your grandfather who has been portrayed as a noble hero was actually a nasty super-villain is definitely heart-shattering news, but it’s always better to know the truth than to be blissfully ignorant and living a lie.

The truth will always find a way to be exposed. For most of us, it won’t happen by a mysterious siren song to a magical ice queen, but by more natural means.

Lies are destructive and they hurt the ones closest to you. If you’re healing from a lie, remember: you can do the next right thing.
When the fog is lifted, just take one step at a time—like Elsa and Anna, you can become a bridge to peace in the kingdom.

Really appreciate your comments on the movie, Milton! I am a Christian teacher and grateful for a Christian perspective on movies, especially the ones that have a strong impact on our children as they learn where where their true security and provision comes from - God. I truly wish these films would not focus so much on self-reliance.
Keep up the good work and fight the good fight, Milton!

Hello Pastor Milton,

Thank you for your article!

Something I've been working through personally and with my community lately is, what is the meaning of reconciliation and how do Christians take part in it? In light of the Christian calling to be people who reconcile relationships in this world, what do we do when the people we thought were good, perhaps even our own ancestors, actually did or allowed things that oppressed other people we share land with? How do we repent of the wrongs of the past, once our minds are opened to the truth of that past and the way it affects the present? I really appreciated that this movie bared the honest possibility that true reconciliation might cost us something. Ana knows her actions might cost the town of Arendelle, but chooses to go on because of the deep need for wrongs to be set right. As Christians we can consider that to facilitate true reconciliation between privileged and oppressed peoples, we might have to follow Christ's example and submit to a cost to ourselves. And after we face that cost, we might find true peace.

Thank you very much

Hi Monica, thanks for asking a good question! In all things we ought to be led by the Holy Spirit. It is He who works in us to give a desire for reconciliation and restoration, and it also He who empowers us to do it. We must be careful not to act out of guilt or condemnation and try to make restitution for sins out of our own self-righteousness. God’s hands are bigger and He can restore victims for their losses much better than we ever can. However if He chooses for us to be part of this healing, reconciliation and restoration process, we just need to say Amen and flow with the Spirit. Children of God are led by Him. When God invites us to give something at our own expense, it is never a cost—it’s always a set up for a blessing. We gain from obeying Him. Praise Jesus!

This was such a beautiful breakdown of the lessons in Frozen 2! The movie really goes deeper than just magic and adventure—there’s so much emotional depth and meaning, and your post captured that perfectly. I especially resonated with “doing the next right thing.” That message hit home during tough times in my own life, and Anna’s courage in the face of heartbreak was so inspiring. Also, I love the reminder about having a trusted confidante—it’s so true that not everyone deserves access to your heart. Thanks for highlighting the morals behind the magic—this post made me appreciate the movie even more!
