15 April 2018 - Once Forgiven Always Forgiven - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online

Praise and Worship songs performed:
  1. Be Thou My Vision
  2. Great is Thy Faithfulness
  3. There is a Redeemer - Melody Green
  4. It is Well with my Soul - Horatio Gates Spafford

The word Gospel means “good news”. It is good news to us because Jesus died on the cross to pay for all our sins.

When you know that you’re forgiven of all your sins, it gives you a peace in your spirit that translates to well being in physical and emotion health as well.

We will receive a new spiritual body during the Rapture and we will never die.
We will meet Jesus in the air and then there will be judgment on earth - the Great Tribulation where the antichrist will rule.
Believers will already be in heaven, safe from all judgment.

Hebrews 10:1-4 - The sacrifices under the Old Covenant are a picture of the true Sacrifice - Jesus’ death at the cross.
The animal sacrifices could only cover Israel’s sins but it wasn’t a true payment for sins.
Jesus’ sacrifice took away our sins and is a true payment for our sins.
A purified conscience means that a person does not have sin-consciousness and he or she knows that their sins are already totally forgiven.
Jesus died as an overpayment to God for our sins.
Jesus’ death enriched God - God became a Gainer - He gained more glory from Redemption than from Creation.
The Redeemer’s crown is more glorious than the Creatorial crown.
The cross is God’s love making payment to God’s justice.
God doesn’t want sin on your conscience.
When sin is removed from your conscience, it is dethroned from your heart.
Right believing will always lead to right living.
Having sin consciousness is dishonoring the work of God - it’s acting like Jesus’ sacrifice at the cross is not good enough to pay for your sins.

“For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.” (Hebrews 10:1-4 NKJV)

God gives angels charge over us to watch us in all our ways. The angels are eagerly watching and seeing God’s plan for man unfolding.

All our past, present and future sins have already been forgiven. We can have peace and security in our heart and conscience.

Matthew 26:27-28 - The institution that Jesus left for His believers that the word of God keeps emphasizing on is the Lord’s Supper - Holy Communion.
When we partake of Holy Communion, we are to be forgiveness-conscious, not sin-conscious.
Holy Communion is a reminder of the remission of sins, not of the remembrance of sins.

Sin consciousness is not the portion for a believer.
The more sin conscious you are, the more you will sin.

“Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” (Matthew 26:27-28 NKJV)

When you pay a debt, who must be satisfied with the payment - the giver or the recipient? The recipient of course.
God is pleased with Jesus’ sacrifice at the cross.
It doesn’t matter whether we are satisfied with it, it’s all about whether God is satisfied with it!

When you don’t believe that your sins are forgiven once and for all after you become a believer, you will never have settled peace in your heart and conscience.

If the Lord really saves you, there will be fruit in your life. You don’t have try to produce the fruit yourself.

I John 2:19 - Even if a true believer falls into sin for a while, they will always come back. They won’t remain in their sin.
God doesn’t have grandchildren. Even if your parents are believers, it doesn’t automatically make you a believer.
You have to believe for yourself.

“They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.” (I John 2:19 NKJV)

The origin of all sickness came from Adam’s sin. Healing is related to forgiveness. If you believe that your sins are forgiven, your body will line up and it will start to produce health and wholeness.

Ephesians 1:7 - We have redemption. Our past, present and future sins are all forgiven, according to the riches of His grace.
If the verse said “out of the riches of His grace”, it means just a limited amount. For example, if I gave you out of the riches of my bank account, I could just give you one dollar.
But the verse says “according to the riches of His grace” which means the we have access to the entire, infinite supply of His grace.
When Jesus died on the cross, all our sins were future sins, unless you’re 2000 years old.
God created time and He is outside time. The cross of Jesus Christ is also outside time -
He could die for all the people in the past in the Old Testament, and all the people who would exist in the future.

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” (Ephesians 1:7 NKJV)

God corrects us when we are in the wrong. He corrects those whom He loves.
How do we confess our sins today? For example, like this: “Father, I thank you that you have already forgiven me of that sin”.

Wrong believing can rob you of an opportunity to glorify God.
We pray from victory, not for victory -
we know that we’re forgiven of all our sins and that He hears us when we pray.

Wrong believing produces a fearful expectation of evil in your life, whereas right believing produces hope which is a confident expectation of good in your future.

Sin is terrible and it is bad - the Son of God had to die on the cross for our sins.
But we must know the magnitude of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, that our sins are really, totally forgiven.

I John 1:9 - Peter, James and John were sent as apostles to the Jews and Paul was an apostle to the Gentiles.
In chapter 1 of I John, John was writing to the gnostic Jews amongst the believers who didn’t believe that they were sinners.
John wasn’t writing to believers in Chapter 1.
John only wrote “little children” in Chapter 2. Little children refers to believers.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (I John 1:9 NKJV)

We have redemption.

We will never lose God's forgiveness. Once you are saved, your standing with God is always righteous!

Luke 7:39-47 - Something suspicious: How did the woman know Simon the Pharisee’s address and how did Simon know who this woman was?
Simon thought that he wasn’t very sinful, whereas the woman saw herself as very sinful.
The one who knows that he is forgiven much will love much.
We have all broken all the Ten Commandments - our sin is great. Have you committed adultery? Jesus said if you lust for a woman in your heart, you have committed adultery.
Have you committed murder? Jesus said if you hate a person in your heart, then you have committed murder. But we have been forgiven.

“Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he spoke to himself, saying, “This Man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman this is who is touching Him, for she is a sinner.” And Jesus answered and said to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” So he said, “Teacher, say it.” “There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?” Simon answered and said, “I suppose the one whom he forgave more.” And He said to him, “You have rightly judged.” Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head. You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in. You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil. Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”” (Luke 7:39-47 NKJV)

Romans 4:6-8 - David wasn’t referring to himself. He saw the people who would come to believe in Jesus after Jesus’ death. He saw us!

“just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works: “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And whose sins are covered; Blessed is the man to whom the LORD shall not impute sin.”” (Romans 4:6-8 NKJV)

I John 2:12 - John was writing to believers here.
The word “forgiven” here is in the past perfect tense which means that we were forgiven once and continue to enjoy that forgiveness with perpetual results.
In John’s time, letters would have been delivered by camel and probably it would take a month to be delivered.
If a believer could lose God’s forgiveness, then John wouldn’t dare to write the letter with the risk of the message being outdated.
He must know that he could write that “your sins are forgiven you” at any point of time because all our sins - past, present and future - are all forgiven.

“I write to you, little children, Because your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake.” (I John 2:12 NKJV)

Pastor Prince’s Closing Prayer:
He reminded us to never take God’s protection for granted.
He prayed for us to receive the blessings of our Father Abraham, all the blessings of Deuteronomy 28, protection from every tragedy, evil, sickness, emotional trauma etc.
He prayed the Aaronic priestly prayer of blessing over us.
He declared that we have forgiveness with God and therefore we are safe in the secret place of the Most High.
Finally, he declared that surely goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our life.

I highly recommend purchasing Pastor Prince's sermons on his mobile app "Joseph Prince" on Apple App Store or Google Play Store even after you read these notes as I may have missed out something he shared and the overall experience is definitely different when you listen to him preaching directly!
Use these notes as a revision guide instead of solely depending on them!

These sermon notes are independently-compiled by me, and I'm just a loyal and regular attendee of the the church's Sunday services, and I feel led to take detailed personal sermon notes of Pastor Prince's anointed messages to share them with the world, which desperately needs the true word of God and the original gospel of grace.

I feel blessed to be able to attend Pastor Joseph Prince's services in person, and would like to help everyone who isn't able to attend in person, to get hold of the messages as soon as it is preached!
