15 December 2019 - Have Faith in the One Who Always Believes - Pastor Lawrence Lim Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon Notes

God is only good. He’s good all the time—He is always good!

The absence of your breakthrough is not the definition of God’s nature or His will.

Jesus Christ is perfect theology.

Today don’t look at your reality to determine the goodness of God.

If you can’t see God as good, then your faith has no solid ground to rest on.
We need to repent (change our minds) and see that God is good.

Under the Law, people had to journey to Jerusalem and ascend to the temple on the mount.
Under Grace, we can bring the temple of God (the church) to the people.

Every time we serve the Lord with our resources, it is resources well-spent.

Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly. This is the reason why He came to earth.

If we closely examine the way each of the four synoptic gospels ends, we will see God's heart for us.

Matthew 28:18-20 - In the Gospel of Matthew, we see Jesus as the King of kings and Lord of lords.
All means all. He has received all authority in Heaven and on earth. The ultimate king, Jesus, is our Lord.
The heart of this King on our side. He is all-powerful and is always with us—even to the end of the age.

“Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” ‭‭(Matthew‬ ‭28:18-20‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Mark 16:19-20 - In the Gospel of Mark, Jesus is depicted as the tireless Servant.
The Servant is still serving man today. He’s still working signs and wonders as the Gospel is preached.

“So then the Lord, after he had spoken to them, was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. They went out, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word by the signs that followed. Amen.” ‭‭(Mark‬ ‭16:19-20‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Luke 24:50-53 - The Gospel of Luke depicts Jesus as the perfect Man.
Bethany means house of misery/the poor.
When there is misery, Jesus feels most at home so that He can be there to comfort you and strengthen you.
Bethany is where Jesus ascended to Heaven.
The last thing He did was to bless His disciples. Jesus was received into Heaven while He was still blessing the disciples. God’s heart is to bless you.
The perfect Man became our great High Priest forever.

“He led them out as far as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. While he blessed them, he withdrew from them, and was carried up into heaven. They worshiped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.” ‭‭(Luke‬ ‭24:50-53‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

John 21:25 - The Gospel of John depicts Jesus as the eternal God.
This verse is not a hyperbole. It is literal.
This verse proves that Jesus is God who existed from the beginning.
He has been so many things and is still doing new things today.
If your breakthrough hasn’t come yet, don’t give up—keep believing. God is faithful and good.

“There are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they would all be written, I suppose that even the world itself wouldn’t have room for the books that would be written.” ‭‭(John‬ ‭21:25‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

You only need faith the size of the smallest of the seeds. A mustard seed is tiny. It’s not about your faith—it’s about Jesus. Place your faith in Jesus who always believes. Don’t condemn yourself that you don’t have enough faith. Don’t have faith in your faith. Even when you are faithless, Jesus remains faithful. Image Credit: www.churchleaders.com

Don't have faith in your faith. Have faith in our Lord Jesus who always believes and to whom all things are possible!

Matthew‬ ‭17:14-18‬ ‭- Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that can lead to seizures and abnormal behavior.
A person experiencing an epileptic fit can convulse on the floor and foam at the mouth.
The epileptic’s father knelt before Jesus—a posture of worship. He called Jesus “Lord”.
This is power in worship—when you come in humility and receive Jesus’ mercy.
The demon in the boy wanted to destroy him.
It is a perversion to believe that there is any disease that Jesus cannot heal.

“When they came to the multitude, a man came to him, kneeling down to him, and saying, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is epileptic, and suffers grievously; for he often falls into the fire, and often into the water. So I brought him to your disciples, and they could not cure him.” Jesus answered, “Faithless and perverse generation! How long will I be with you? How long will I bear with you? Bring him here to me.” Jesus rebuked him, the demon went out of him, and the boy was cured from that hour.” ‭‭(Matthew‬ ‭17:14-18‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Mark‬ ‭9:14-29 - The scribes were the Jewish religious leaders who were learned in the Law of Moses.
The scribes, chief priests and Pharisees were the human agents behind Jesus’ crucifixion.
The scribes opposed the disciples. When Grace is opposed, faith is dimmed.
Jesus came to His disciples’ rescue.
What is an impossibility with man is a possibility to God.
Jesus is “Him who believes”. He is the only Man who always believes and because He is Lord, all things are possible to Him.
Place your faith in Jesus who always believes.
Don’t condemn yourself that you don’t have enough faith.
Don’t have faith in your faith. Even when you are faithless, Jesus remains faithful.
The apostle Peter wrote that we have already been healed by Jesus’ stripes. The time for us to be healed is now. It is God’s will to heal us now. Today is the day or salvation. Receive your healing.

“Coming to the disciples, he saw a great multitude around them, and scribes questioning them. Immediately all the multitude, when they saw him, were greatly amazed, and running to him greeted him. He asked the scribes, “What are you asking them?” One of the multitude answered, “Teacher, I brought to you my son, who has a mute spirit; and wherever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams at the mouth, and grinds his teeth, and wastes away. I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they weren’t able.” He answered him, “Unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me.” They brought him to him, and when he saw him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground, wallowing and foaming at the mouth. He asked his father, “How long has it been since this has come to him?” He said, “From childhood. Often it has cast him both into the fire and into the water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.” Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears, “I believe. Help my unbelief!” When Jesus saw that a multitude came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and never enter him again!” Having cried out, and convulsed greatly, it came out of him. The boy became like one dead; so much that most of them said, “He is dead.” But Jesus took him by the hand, and raised him up; and he arose. When he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?” He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing, except by prayer and fasting.”” ‭‭(Mark‬ ‭9:14-29‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

It’s not about your faith—it’s about Jesus.
The original Greek manuscripts don’t have verse 21.
Faith in Jesus alone is enough for every breakthrough and every miracle.

“Then the disciples came to Jesus privately, and said, “Why weren’t we able to cast it out?” He said to them, “Because of your unbelief. For most certainly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. But this kind doesn’t go out except by prayer and fasting.”” ‭‭(Matthew‬ ‭17:19-21‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Luke 9:42-44 - This is one of three occurrences of the “majesty of God” in the New Testament.
When Jesus heals the sick, there is a visual splendor of Him. God’s heart is to heal.
When someone is healed, God is glorified and magnified.
There is no ceiling to God’s power. Every sickness can be healed in Jesus’ name.
Look in the mirror and see Jesus as who you are.
There is just a very slight discrepancy between autism and epilepsy. God wants to heal autistic people.
We love them, but we don’t love the condition that is afflicting them.
Pastor Lawrence met a man who witnessed 18 recorded healings of people with special needs.
Our faith ceiling will become our floor—just believe.

“While he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him violently. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father. They were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while all were marveling at all the things which Jesus did, he said to his disciples, “Let these words sink into your ears, for the Son of Man will be delivered up into the hands of men.”” ‭‭(Luke‬ ‭9:42-44‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Revelation 12:11 - The word testimony in Hebrew is “eduth” which means do it again.
We receive testimonies to believe that Jesus can do it again for us.
The testimony of Jesus Christ is the spirit of prophecy.
When testimonies are declared, it is prophesying that your breakthrough is coming.
God doesn’t just want us to cope. He wants us to have hope.
Impossible is nothing to our God.

“They overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood, and because of the word of their testimony. They didn’t love their life, even to death.” ‭‭(Revelation‬ ‭12:11‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Don’t feel condemned if you have a mental illness. You are still welcome in the house of God. Jesus loves you and will heal you!

While He was on earth, Jesus lived as a Man who depended on God the Father by faith. We can do that today too.
Don’t open a window to look for Jesus. Look in the mirror—as Jesus is, so are you in this world.
Christ is in you and you are in Him.
