19 August 2018 - We are Protected by the Blood of Jesus - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon Notes

This young generation is exposed to things that the previous generations were not exposed to.
The young ones today are growing up fast and not growing according to the correct seasons.

The devil is starting them young on pornography, violence etc, so why are they deemed too young to receive the Holy Spirit? They need the gospel of grace too.

There was a young generation of the children of Israel who were born in the wilderness, not in the atmosphere of slavery in Egypt, but in the atmosphere of miracles.
They saw God as a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. They saw Him defeat their enemies supernaturally. 

The devil is always playing catch up to God.
The devil’s works are more visible but what God does is invisible and more powerful because it is eternal. 

We’re in the best of generations - the Rapture can happen at anytime.
We are the generation that delights in God’s word. 
We know that the Bible is the Creator’s handbook.

This generation is exposed to moral degradation but when deep darkness covers the world, the believers will shine brightly because the glory of God is seen upon them.

Believers are planted by the rivers of water. It doesn’t matter whether there’s a heatwave or drought.
We will bring forth fruit in our season, our leaves will not wither and whatever we do prospers, even our mistakes. 
There is a young generation now that believes that everything they do prospers. 
It’s not boastfulness but they really believe in God’s word - 
they are greedy (in a good way) for God’s blessings - God likes that. 

In the Book of Revelation, it says that “the leaves were used for the healing of the nations”. 
Leaves are linked to health. Our health will not wither. 

Turkey and Russia will join forces to wage war against Israel in the future (Ezekiel 38) - it’s not clear whether it will be before or after the Rapture. 

Blood has a voice. The first mention of blood in the Bible was when Cain killed Abel and God said that the voice of Abel’s blood cries out for vengeance. The blood of Jesus speaks of better things: forgiveness for all who have sinned against His Father in heaven. Not just forgiveness but protection.

The power of Jesus' shed blood 

Many people have no moral compass nowadays, and they are doing what they think is right in their own eyes. 
This behavior is getting us more and more into bondage.
The truly free ones are the ones who believe in Jesus - if the Son makes you free, you are free indeed. 

In the Bible, when the times are dark, that’s written for our benefit today - A time of darkness over the world. 

When a leader falls, the nation falls as well. Everything rises and falls on leadership.
At one dark time in Israel’s history, King Saul was depressed - he was oppressed by an evil spirit. 
Amidst that darkness, God said “I have provided Me a king among Jesse’s sons”.
Even amidst darkness, it’s reassuring to know that God has a prepared Himself a provision. 

For such a time as this, God is raising for Himself many young people like David, Esther and Ruth:
Amidst a backslidden generation, they will learn directly from the Lord and breathe in the fresh air of heaven.

In the wilderness, twelve spies were sent out to spy out the land of Canaan. 
Ten came back with a negative report of the land and only two came back with a positive report - 
The faithful ones, Joshua and Caleb, saw the giants in the land as food for them. 

The children of Israel even talked about stoning the two of them - people don’t like others to be positive.
God said those who said they would die in the wilderness, would really die in the wilderness.

Later on when Caleb was 85 years of age, he conquered Hebron. 
He never grew old and was just as strong then as he was 45 years ago.
He stopped aging because he trusted in God’s promises for them with regards to the land. 

Joshua 2:9-18 - Rahab who was a harlot revealed to the children of Israel that the inhabitants of the city were actually afraid of them. 
Your enemies are afraid of you because of whose you are - the name of Jesus on your lips. 
Evil spirits are afraid of you long before you even come near. 
Even more amazing than the war conquests of Israel in Canaan, was that Grace conquered the prostitute’s heart. 
The children of Israel saw the work of grace in Rahab’s heart. 
She said that the children of Israel’s God is the true God of heaven above and of earth beneath.
Rahab lived on the wall of Jericho. When the walls of Jericho fell, only one part remained standing - the window of Rahab’s house. Pastor Prince saw a photo of that. 
The walls were the strongest part of the evil city of Jericho. If the wall stands, the city stands. 
Where evil was strongest, grace superabounded and reigned. 
The word “kindness” in the passage below is Hesed in Hebrew which means grace. 
Rahab asked for a true “token” (Aleph Tav in Hebrew - A divine signature of Jesus in the Bible). 
“Kindly” and “truly” are Hesed and Emet in Hebrew - Grace and truth. 
The Law given by Moses but Grace and Truth came through Jesus Christ. 
The word “line” is “tiqvah” in Hebrew. It means hope. 
How do you get your household saved? Speak the blood of Jesus over them. They will need to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior themselves, but these declarations will help. 
When you build your house on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ, you will not be shaken. 
The protection promises of Psalm 91 are for you and your household. 

“and said to the men: “I know that the LORD has given you the land, that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land are fainthearted because of you. For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed. And as soon as we heard these things, our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for the LORD your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath. Now therefore, I beg you, swear to me by the LORD, since I have shown you kindness, that you also will show kindness to my father’s house, and give me a true token, and spare my father, my mother, my brothers, my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.” So the men answered her, “Our lives for yours, if none of you tell this business of ours. And it shall be, when the LORD has given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with you.” Then she let them down by a rope through the window, for her house was on the city wall; she dwelt on the wall. And she said to them, “Get to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you. Hide there three days, until the pursuers have returned. Afterward you may go your way.” So the men said to her: “We will be blameless of this oath of yours which you have made us swear, unless, when we come into the land, you bind this line of scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down, and unless you bring your father, your mother, your brothers, and all your father’s household to your own home.” (Joshua 2:9-18 NKJV)

The New Covenant today was cut by two immutable forces: God the Father and God the Son.
Jesus died for our sins so that the eternal covenant will keep on keeping on in our lives. 

Exodus 12:13 - At night when it was the darkest, God would send the destroyer to strike all the firstborns in Egypt. 
The destroyer will pass over you if it sees the blood. 
The life of the flesh is in the blood. (Leviticus 17)
Some people call Christianity a ‘slaughterhouse religion’. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. 
When God sees the blood, He will pass over you.
What better blood than Jesus’ blood.

Today people are not focusing on teaching about the blood of Jesus enough. 
The blood of Jesus provides protection for us because it has remitted all our sins.  
Pastor Prince was a relief teacher in a primary school and one of his students was abducted by a practitioner of the satanic arts for ritual sacrifice.
That person called Adrian Lim, together with his wife and mistress, killed children and drank their blood. 
Pastor Prince was led to declare the blood of Jesus over her repeatedly and because of that, the demons rejected the girl from being sacrificed and she was released, completely unharmed. 

“Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.” (Exodus 12:13 NKJV)

Don't take protection for granted - pray!

Exodus 12:3-4 - God’s heart is for you and your whole family to be saved. 
The household is always too small for the lamb, and not the other way around. 
God’s provision of grace is always greater than our sins. 

“Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: ‘On the tenth of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household. And if the household is too small for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of the persons; according to each man’s need you shall make your count for the lamb.” (Exodus 12:3-4 NKJV)

God doesn’t judge believers by their works (for justification), but men always judge you by your works.
Rahab looked out of her window - away from the city, but towards the encampment of the children of Israel: the pillar of cloud, the pillar of fire, the Ark of the Covenant and all the miracles of God. 

Like how the two spies of the children of Israel secretly hid in Rahab’s house, in the First Coming of Jesus, Jesus didn’t come to conquer the earth - He came quietly to conquer our hearts. 

However when the spies came back, they came back triumphant to conquer the city of Jericho. 
When Jesus comes back in His Second Coming, He will come back not on a donkey but on a white horse. 
Not wearing a crown of thorns but a royal diadem. 
He will come back in glory, power and to judge the unbelieving earth. 

When Jesus read the scroll of the Book of Isaiah in the synagogue, He read from Isaiah 60 and closed the book right after “to proclaim the Acceptable Day of the Lord”. 
After that, there is a divine parenthesis of 2000 years. 
After this comes the Day of Vengeance of the Lord, when Jesus will come back to judge the world.  

We have to pray. We live in a fallen earth. God comes to intervene on earth to enforce the covenant when we pray. 
Don’t take protection for granted. 
On a day when Pastor Prince brought his son and wife out for an outing, they all forgot to pray for protection, and a lorry smashed into their car. 
The day after, Pastor Prince’s daughter got into a cab and felt an impression in her heart to pray for protection. 
Soon after, a lorry smashed into the front passenger side of the cab she was in, and it did not injure her because she was sitting at the back. She was completely fine.
Don’t take protection for granted. 

Joshua 6:25 - Rahab married Salmon, the son of the captain of Judah. Her name is recorded in the genealogy of Jesus Christ. 

“And Joshua spared Rahab the harlot, her father’s household, and all that she had. So she dwells in Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.”
(Joshua 6:25 NKJV)

Before the final plague of the death of the firstborn that God sent on Egypt, He sent locusts (representing a demon army) and darkness (representing our times) that can be felt. 

Exodus 10:9-11 - Pastor Prince has a message for parents who have wayward children. 
The devil wants to make a compromise with us about our families.
He says, “You go worship God but leave your children behind. They are too young to understand God’s word anyways.”
Your real child is not the cute, cherubic face that you see with your eyes. 
The real child is in inside him or her - the soul. 
Why care more about their intellect, health and outward appearance when the soul is the most important? 
Are you caring about the real person inside them?  
Declare the blood of Jesus over them - there’s enough power in it to save them. 
Have you prayed with your children, shared with them about Jesus, or given them a taste of the goodness of God’s word? 
Don’t just care about their outward (health, appearance, intelligence) and neglect their soul. 
Don’t leave your children in Jericho when you’re enjoying the blessings in Israel. 

“And Moses said, “We will go with our young and our old; with our sons and our daughters, with our flocks and our herds we will go, for we must hold a feast to the LORD.” Then he said to them, “The LORD had better be with you when I let you and your little ones go! Beware, for evil is ahead of you. Not so! Go now, you who are men, and serve the LORD, for that is what you desired.” And they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.” (Exodus 10:9-11 NKJV)

Isaiah 49:24-25 - The devil may have your child as a lawful captive, but he or she can still be delivered.
The devil hates you because you are made in the image of God.
Your children are not too young for the things of God. 
Your child may hate God now because he or she did not get a taste of God, so give a taste! 
After having a taste when they are young,  they will not depart from it when they are old. 
In Israel, to teach young children the Torah, the teachers write the Hebrew alphabet using honey and get the children to taste it.
This teaches them that God’s word is sweeter than honey. 
There are some foods that you will always love throughout your life because your mother or someone gave it to you when you were little.
Impressions of taste when one is young sticks for life. 

“Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, Or the captives of the righteous be delivered? But thus says the LORD: “Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, And the prey of the terrible be delivered; For I will contend with him who contends with you, And I will save your children.” (Isaiah 49:24-25 NKJV)

Whatever you drink from this world will make you thirst in your soul again. Only Jesus will cause you never to thirst again. 

Closing Prayer:
Pastor Prince prayed for us and our household to be sprinkled with the blood of Christ to be protected and saved. 
He also prayed for us to receive Hesed Wisdom to parent our children well according to God’s ways. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
