23 February 2020 - Your Golden Shield: Righteousness by Faith - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon Notes

Righteousness by faith is your golden shield that quenches all the fiery darts of the devil. When you are firmly established in Jesus’ finished work at the cross—that He took your guilt and punishment, weapons may be formed against you but they will surely not prosper against you. You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus!

Pastor Joseph Prince believes that the spread of the coronavirus will stop suddenly and much earlier than what the predictions out there are.
Ask the Lord of Time and Space to accelerate the end of the COVID-19.
Pastor Prince believes that it will start with Singapore, followed by the rest of the world.

Don’t forsake the gathering of the church, even as you see the day of the Rapture approaching.

Even after this COVID-19, there will be other dangers invented by the devil. But God is always merciful and intervening, saving people.
There is no virus in Heaven to send. God considers Death as an enemy.

God the Father is putting all enemies under Jesus’ feet as His footstool. Death will be the last enemy put under His feet.
You can learn from the early church—such as their faith and practices, but we’re not called to live communally like them.
In the past the church was about playing the organ and they rejected the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
But today the church is receiving more revelation.
Amidst all the change, the principles in God’s word are unchanging.

The most powerful things happen in silence. Your heart beats and your liver works without you hearing it. What God does is silent but powerful.
What the devil does is loud, but nothing compared to God.

When Jesus came into the world it was so quiet. It was like manna falling upon the dew—a silent night.
But when the devil instigated king Herod to kill the babies of Bethlehem, it was visible and loud.

In this time of fear of the COVID-19 virus, God has already released a powerful healing anointing, transferred through the laying on of hands.

In Jesus’ time, the feared disease was leprosy. When Jesus met the leper, the leper caught His healing.
Jesus is greater than any disease.

The COVID-19 virus seems to be having an intelligence of its own. It is even targeting churches—it’s demonic.
God must have released a great anointing in Grace Assembly Church in Singapore—since the virus attacked that congregation so much.
God is going to use that church powerfully for healing and deliverance.

Joel 2:23-25 - The anointing oil destroys COVID-19.
When you see the plague, it is a sign that what happens next is restoration of years. You will return to the days of your youthful vigor.
The Year of the Latter Rain is still going on. Israel is enjoying good rainfall—what happens in natural Israel will also happen for spiritual Israel (the church).

““Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in Yahweh, your God; for he gives you the former rain in just measure, and he causes the rain to come down for you, the former rain and the latter rain, as before. The threshing floors will be full of wheat, and the vats will overflow with new wine and oil. I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the great locust, the grasshopper, and the caterpillar, my great army, which I sent among you.” (Joel‬ ‭2:23-25‬ ‭WEB‬)

Deuteronomy 7:13-15 - The Old Testament is the New Testament concealed. The New Testament is the Old Testament revealed.
The grain and wine represents the Holy Communion. The oil represents the power of the Holy Spirit.
You can share videos of healing cases but not videos of demon possession victims being delivered because it dishonors the victim by making them a public spectacle.
Last week, a woman had a demonic manifestation during the fourth service when the anointing oil was applied on her forehead.
The pastors brought her out and cast out the demon.
When the demon left, it was as smelly as if a garbage truck poured out its trash there in the room.
When a demon manifests in a service, don’t let it disrupt the service.
Never let a demon distract you from Jesus.
You cannot prescribe medicine for a demonic possession. It has to be cast out in Jesus’ name.
Everywhere Jesus went and ministered, He healed all who came to Him who were oppressed by the devil.
When you honor God’s word, He will honor that faith and allow you to experience the measure of His word.
You may be experiencing thirtyfold manifestation now, but as you persevere in faith, you will experience sixtyfold and hundredfold manifestation.
Even for giving birth, we don’t have to experience a painful childbirth because we have been redeemed from the curse of the Law and the Edenic curse.
Even if someone from church catches the COVID-19 virus, let’s believe for the person’s healing—don’t waste time asking God why it happened.

“He will love you, bless you, multiply you. He will also bless the fruit of your body and the fruit of your ground, your grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your livestock and the young of your flock, in the land which he swore to your fathers to give you. You shall be blessed above all peoples. There shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your livestock. Yahweh will take away from you all sickness; and none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which you know, will he put on you, but will lay them on all those who hate you.” (Deuteronomy‬ ‭7:13-15‬ ‭WEB)

You are righteous because Jesus took your guilt. The only way you can become righteous is through faith in Him!

1 Kings 14:25-28 - Solomon’s son Rehoboam walked with the Lord for a while, but he eventually forsook the Lord.
Scholars say that Rehoboam ascended the throne when he was about sixteen years old.
Rehoboam made the mistake of taking counsel from his wastrel friends instead of Solomon’s wise counsellors.
The consequence was that the kingdom of Israel split into two: Israel and Judah.
The provisions are ready for us, even before the problem hits.
By the end of the year, the treasuries will be opened to us (the church).
In other places it says that there were 300 gold shields. 300 is the number of victory—like Gideon’s 300 mighty men.
Brass and gold look almost the same, but their respective values are world’s apart.
The brass shields were made because king Rehoboam wanted to vainly keep up appearances—but these brass shields were no longer golden shields.
The name Shishak means “greedy for fine linen”.
Fine linen is a picture of our righteousness in Christ (Revelation 19:8).
Shishak represents an enemy who robs the saints of their consciousness of their righteousness in Christ.

“In the fifth year of king Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and he took away the treasures of Yahweh’s house, and the treasures of the king’s house. He even took away all of it, including all the gold shields which Solomon had made. King Rehoboam made shields of brass in their place, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard, who kept the door of the king’s house. It was so, that as often as the king went into Yahweh’s house, the guard bore them, and brought them back into the guard room.” (1 Kings‬ ‭14:25-28‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Ephesians 6:16 - The Greek says “shield of the faith”, in other words, righteousness by faith.
Brass/bronze is a picture of judgment.
Silver is a picture of redemption.
Gold is a picture of divine righteousness.
Righteousness by faith is our shield which guards us from every demonic attack.

“above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.” (Ephesians‬ ‭6:16‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Romans 4:1-8 - The truth about righteousness by faith is being attacked by the devil today.
You can’t work for your righteousness. You can only receive it as a gift by faith.
Fear is a sin. The first group who enters the lake of fire are the “fearful” and the next group are the “unbelieving”.

“What then will we say that Abraham, our forefather, has found according to the flesh? For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not toward God. For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Now to him who works, the reward is not counted as grace, but as something owed. But to him who doesn’t work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness. Even as David also pronounces blessing on the man to whom God counts righteousness apart from works, “Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whom the Lord will by no means charge with sin.”” (Romans‬ ‭4:1-8‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

2 Corinthians 5:21 - If you feel guilty for your sins then you’re acting like Jesus didn’t take it for you at the cross.
If you accept guilt then you’re saying that you’re worthy of the punishment.
You’re still born-again—if you die you’ll still go to Heaven.
But that moment of accepting your guilt, it’ll be as if you’re not saved—you’ll experience negative consequences since you take the guilt upon yourself.
If Christ took your guilt then you received His righteousness.

“For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:21‬ ‭WEB‬)

Artificial intelligence (AI) can produce a work, but not a fruit. Fruit is a product of life from God.
The Antichrist will have some sort of AI (image of the Beast) that is an imitation of life, but is actually not.

Even for declaring Psalm 91 against the COVID-19 virus, you cannot declare it out of fear, as if you’re trying to get protection.
Your declaration has to come from a place of faith in Jesus, based on the truth that you are righteous in Him.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper. Many times God delivers you from harm even without you knowing.

Isaiah 24:18 - David ran towards Goliath with his slingshot. Face your fear.
The devil says stay put and you’ll be safe. No, go forth and you’ll be safe.

“It will happen that he who flees from the noise of the fear will fall into the pit; and he who comes up out of the middle of the pit will be taken in the snare; for the windows on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble.” (Isaiah‬ ‭24:18‬ ‭WEB‬)

Romans 4:13 - If you are in Christ, you are Abraham’s seed.
Abraham tithed and received holy communion, and so do we.
Can you be the heir of the world while you’re sick and broke all the time? No.
God even supplies these natural blessings to us through the righteousness of faith.

“For the promise to Abraham and to his offspring that he should be heir of the world wasn’t through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.” (Romans‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭WEB)

The power of the anointing oil is in what it symbolizes: the power of the Holy Spirit.
The olive oil doesn’t grow on trees. It has to come forth by crushing the olive fruits in the olive press.
Just like how Jesus was crushed for our iniquities.

2 Samuel 1:17-27 - Saul pursued David to kill him and yet David called Saul “mighty”.
Saul fell on high ground—Mount Gilboa.
After God promotes you, watch out, don’t fall in the high place. Depend on His grace and don’t forget Him.
Keep coming to church and continue to give tithes and offerings.
In those times, anointing one’s shield with oil caused arrows fired at the shield to just bounce off because of how smooth and slippery the shield became.
But if the shield was dry or cracked, that’s when the fiery darts would stick on or penetrate the shield.
Rely on righteousness by faith, not your own fleshly attempts at righteousness.
Saul went to a medium/witch the day before this. He fell for the devil’s tricks.
Don’t fall for New-Age teachings—avoid dabbling with the devil’s doctrines.
There is something elevating about the life in Christ.
It restrains you from doing evil and encourages you to live the princely life—the Prince of Peace is inside you.
The medium prophesied Saul’s defeat. The devil can prophesy the devil’s plans.
In contrast to Saul, what was David doing the day before this? He was strengthening himself in the Lord.
Saul disdained his shield and vilely cast it away.
Saul was killed by an Amalekite. Amalekite comes from a Hebrew word which means “pain that comes from labor”.
Earlier on, Saul was instructed to kill all Amalekites but he disobeyed that instruction from God.
Kill that stress they comes from relying on the flesh, if not it will kill you.
David spoke well of Saul even though Saul wanted to kill him.
David cursed Mount Gilboa, declaring that there shall be no dew nor rain upon it. Today it remains one of the hottest places on earth’s surface and upon the mount there is a patch of bald land where no tree can grow.

“David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son (and he commanded them to teach the children of Judah the song of the bow; behold, it is written in the book of Jashar): “Your glory, Israel, was slain on your high places! How the mighty have fallen! Don’t tell it in Gath. Don’t publish it in the streets of Ashkelon, lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph. You mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew or rain on you, and no fields of offerings; For there the shield of the mighty was defiled and cast away, The shield of Saul was not anointed with oil. From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, Jonathan’s bow didn’t turn back. Saul’s sword didn’t return empty. Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives. In their death, they were not divided. They were swifter than eagles. They were stronger than lions. You daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you delicately in scarlet, who put ornaments of gold on your clothing. How the mighty have fallen in the middle of the battle! Jonathan was slain on your high places. I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan. You have been very pleasant to me. Your love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women. How the mighty have fallen, and the weapons of war have perished!”” (2 Samuel‬ ‭1:17-27‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

You need the blessing of God. Even if you only get to sleep five hours, believe that God will miraculously turn that little into much, like how He multiplied the loaves and fishes.

You can’t pray that weapons won’t be formed against you, but you can surely confess that these weapons formed won’t prosper against you.

Declare “I am the righteousness of God in Christ” before you pray. It casts off self-righteousness and fear.
