10 May 2020 - Provision and Healing are Surely Yours - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon Notes

Pastor Joseph Prince shared that there are preachers who condemn the 'health and wealth gospel', saying that it's not God's will to heal and prosper His people. This has discouraged believers from having the faith to prosper in all things and be healthy, even as their souls prosper. It's time to reclaim our inheritance in Christ through right believing!

This time of stay home and lockdown is like a Sabbath-years rest for us. Some of us need a compulsory rest.

Colossians 2:5 - Pastor Prince is physically absent, but is able to minister to us through technology, and in the spirit.
Pastors can pray for their congregations in the spirit. Pastoring is supposed to be supernatural.
There is no limit with prayer—transcending time and space, with the Lord of time and space.

“For though I am absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, rejoicing and seeing your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.” (Colossians‬ ‭2:5‬ ‭WEB‬)

3 John 1:2 - The Apostle John wouldn’t pray this prayer if it wasn’t divinely-inspired and according to God’s will.
The authors of the Scriptures were inspired by the Holy Spirit who breathed His words into them.
John is the apostle of love. He referred to himself in his gospel as the disciple whom Jesus loves.
Prosper in all things really means all things. Not just limited to one or two areas.
Your soul is prospering because you’re a believer and you are receiving God’s word. Your soul prospering is a given.
God wants your prosperity in all things and health to follow your soul prosperity.

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers.” (3 John‬ ‭1:2‬ ‭WEB‬)

1 Corinthians 16:1-2 - God prospers us financially through the grace of giving.

“Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I commanded the assemblies of Galatia, you do likewise. On the first day of the week, let each one of you save, as he may prosper, that no collections be made when I come.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭16:1-2‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Always judge your behavior by your position—not the other way around. You are always the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

There is no poverty, sickness or lack in Heaven. Pray for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

Some people are preaching strongly against the ‘health and wealth gospel’. These people are discouraging believers from having faith to receive God’s provision for every need in their lives.

God is against the love of money and stinginess. That’s why He instituted the grace of giving which breaks the love for money and develops generosity.

Mark 5:27-29 - The woman with an issue of blood was sick and poor. She heard about Jesus—not a Jesus that demanded perfection in Law-keeping. She heard about a Jesus that gave her confidence to be healed.
Because she was hemorrhaging, she was actually ceremonially unclean and not allowed to be in the public.
Yet, she had the faith that she would be healed if she touched Jesus’ garment.
The woman said “I will be made well”—that is a sure statement of faith with no uncertainty.

“For she said, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be made well.” Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction.” (Mark‬ ‭5:28-29‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Mark 5:33-34 - Jesus didn’t want the woman to think that she had stolen her healing.
He wanted her to know that He was glad to heal her.

“But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be cured of your disease.”” (Mark‬ ‭5:33-34‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

The Law was given on Mount Sinai from a distance, but Grace came personally in the person of Jesus Christ.

The Law says “don’t, don’t, don’t”, but Grace says “I shall, I shall, I shall”.
The Law says that it will remember your sins from generation to generation. Grace says that “I will remember your sins no more”.

Micah 6:8 - God is a judge, but His essence is love. He has to execute justice, but He loves mercy.

“He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah‬ ‭6:8‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

God never asked for our permission—He sent His Son to die for our sins.

Jesus is totally sinless. Pilate assessed Him and said “I find no fault in this man.”
After Judas Iscariot betrayed Him, he cried out “I have betrayed innocent blood!”
The centurion who saw Jesus at the cross declared “Surely this was a righteous man.”

At the cross, Jesus did a clean sweep of all our sins by absorbing God’s punishment for sins in His own body.

Many believers are unsure whether God wants to prosper and heal them

It is possible to have a love of money when you don’t have any money in your pocket. Don’t generalize and say that rich people are all greedy and evil.
Sometimes if you lack something, you crave and think of it all day long.

In Matthew 8, the leper didn’t doubt Jesus’ power, but he was unsure whether Jesus was willing to heal him.
Many believers are unsure whether it is God’s will to prosper and heal them.

Preach God’s word at the Bible’s standard—not according to your own experiences.

Mark 6:56 - Everyone who touched Jesus was healed. Not everyone in Israel was healed—only those who came to Him, believing that they would be healed.

“Wherever he entered, into villages, or into cities, or into the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged him that they might touch just the fringe of his garment; and as many as touched him were made well.” (Mark‬ ‭6:56‬ ‭WEB)

People are not saved by default. You have to place your faith in Jesus to be saved.
Even at a Billy Graham Gospel rally, there were many people who walked out without accepting Christ as Lord.
Does that mean that it’s not God’s heart to save everyone? No, people have free will.
They have to decide whether to accept or reject Jesus.
Don’t focus on those who walked away. Rejoice that many received Jesus and were saved!

What about the apostles who were martyred? Yes there is a place of suffering and persecution, but it doesn’t take away the truth that it is God’s will for us to prosper. Stay tuned for next week’s message where Pastor Prince will teach about this.

If you have an idea for a business or investment, sense whether God is leading you to do it, and if there’s peace, pray for Him to prosper you in it.

There was no precedence in the Old Testament Scriptures promising that you can walk on water, but Peter had a desire to be where Jesus was.
It was a personal request and Jesus gave Peter power to walk on water by saying “Come”.
Peter took his eyes off Jesus and he started to sink.
To doubt is to take your eyes off Jesus.

God took care of Elijah in the days of his depression. God sent the Angel of the Lord to feed Elijah and instructed the widow of Zarepheth.

There are people saying “Keep it real”, discouraging you to have faith.
But for some people, what is real is God’s promises!
When the ten spies came back with a bad report of the land, Joshua and Caleb returned with a good report.
To the two men, God’s promise was what’s real to them.

There are voices that want us to remain natural like the people of the world.
They are indirectly asking us to disown our inheritance in Christ.

It is okay to have weaknesses, but don’t allow yourself to be ruled by them.

1 Chronicles 4:9-10 - Even though his mother called him “sorrow”, Jabez wouldn’t allow that to be his destiny.
In the Bible, Jabez is only mentioned in these two verses.
It is perfectly acceptable to ask God to bless you. You can’t be a blessing to others if you have nothing to bless them with.
A man can receive nothing except what he first received from Heaven.
Jabez prayed for prosperity and protection from evil, and God granted him the request.
You can pray for God to deliver you from evil. It is in the Lord’s Prayer.
Persecution is promised for believers, but remember that Jesus said that great is your reward when you are persecuted for His name’s sake.

“Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother named him Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him with sorrow.” Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my border! May your hand be with me, and may you keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” God granted him that which he requested.” (1 Chronicles‬ ‭4:9-10‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Matthew‬ ‭8:16-17 - Jesus took our physical diseases upon Himself at the cross.

“When evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, “He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases.”” (Matthew‬ ‭8:16-17‬ ‭WEB‬)

If you have experienced some losses, believe for restoration. The evil things that happened to you were not God’s will, but you can trust God for restoration.

If you suffered a miscarriage, the soul and spirit of your child is now in Heaven. You will see your child in Heaven.

Life is not about having three or four houses and cars. It’s about having peace in your soul with God, knowing that all your sins are forgiven and that you are right with God.

Ask and trust God for more provision for that you can become a channel of blessing to many. Don’t just think about your own family.

God’s Grace is given to us day by day. You can pray for the protection promises of Psalm 91 to be upon you and your family each day.

If you’re a believer and you’re infected with the COVID-19 virus, trust God for healing.
Don’t even spend time thinking whether you’re out of God’s will.
Don’t let anyone stop you from going to God for healing.

Meditating on God’s word allows you to retain 80 to 100% of what you hear in sermons. Let the knowledge in your head drop into your heart.

Never let obscure Bible passages that you don’t know, rob you of the certain Scriptures that you do know.

Jesus never turned anyone away who came to him for healing. He never qualified them first before healing them. Grace is given freely.

Pastor Prince moved in words of knowledge and gift of healings.
Someone with frequent stomach pains was healed.
A man concerned about his prostate was healed.
Someone who had been suffering frequent migraine headaches was healed.
