23 April 2023 - Cleansed By The Ashes Of The Red Heifer - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon Notes

New Sermon Notes: Pastor Joseph Prince taught us how to cleanse ourselves from the death that we touch on a daily basis, through receiving the sprinkling of water containing the ashes of the red heifer. Find out what this is a picture of under the New Covenant of Grace!

Jesus already paid for us to receive healing by shedding His blood at the cross. We only need to receive it today.

Healing can happen instantaneously sometimes, but it can also happen progressively.

Wine usually takes many years to ripen to become excellent wine. At the wedding in Cana, Jesus compressed time and turned water into excellent wine in just a moment. Through this miracle, He showed that He is the Lord of Time.

Jesus healed a nobleman’s son from a long distance away in Capernaum. Through this miracle He showed He is the Lord of Space.

Jesus is the Lord of Time and Space.

Even if you don’t feel anything different after praying for healing or taking the Lord’s Supper, just thank God by faith for your healing.

When you partake of the Lord’s Supper, take it with a consciousness that Jesus just freshly died at the cross for you. Receive His love for you as you remember what He did at the cross.

With the Lord, a thousand human years is like one day.

There is a prophecy in Hosea that says after two days God will revive us and on the third day we will live in His sight. That is a prophecy about the Rapture—we are waiting for the Rapture to happen in God’s third day.

1 Corinthians 10:11 - What happened to the children of Israel in the wilderness were examples for our learning.
When Korah and his followers murmured against Moses and Aaron, the earth opened up and swallowed them alive.
When the children of Israel complained about the lack of variety of food and only having manna to eat, many of them died.
If we keep seeking things of the world and disdaining God’s word (manna is a picture of God’s word), then we will keep wandering in the wilderness.

“Now all these things happened to them by way of example, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭11‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

We are surrounded by angels who watch over us and deliver us from evil. It is good to remind your children of this so that when they go to school or wherever, they have the sense of being protected by God.

We must hear preaching about the finished work of Jesus Christ at the cross to cleanse ourselves from the death we touch in our daily walk

Numbers 19:1-3 - The red heifer is a picture of Jesus. Every offering under the Law must be unblemished and without defect because it is a picture of Jesus and how He is perfect and sinless.
Jesus was never yoked—He was never under servitude to the world. He was never a slave to sin.
You cannot flatter Jesus into thinking better of you and you cannot criticize Him into thinking worse of you. He is not in servitude to man’s opinions.

“Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, “This is the statute of the law which Yahweh has commanded. Tell the children of Israel to bring you a red heifer without spot, in which is no defect, and which was never yoked. You shall give her to Eleazar the priest, and he shall bring her outside of the camp, and one shall kill her before his face.” (Numbers‬ ‭19‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

Numbers 19:5-6 - Ashes are the final form of destruction. You can’t burn something beyond ashes. The ashes of the red heifer is a picture of the finished work of Jesus Christ at the cross.

“One shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her meat, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn. The priest shall take cedar wood, hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the middle of the burning of the heifer.” (Numbers‬ ‭19‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

Numbers‬ ‭19‬:‭11‬-‭19‬ - This offering is for a person who has been made unclean through touching death (someone who entered a tent where someone just died, someone who touched a dead body or bone, someone who touched a grave).
Learning the revelation from this shows us how to receive and experience impartation of life.
When we hear the preaching of Jesus’ finished work at the cross, we are receiving the sprinkling of purification for all the death that we have touched in daily life.

““He who touches the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days. He shall purify himself with water on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean; but if he doesn’t purify himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean. Whoever touches a dead person, the body of a man who has died, and doesn’t purify himself, defiles Yahweh’s tabernacle; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel; because the water for impurity was not sprinkled on him, he shall be unclean. His uncleanness is yet on him. “This is the law when a man dies in a tent: everyone who comes into the tent, and everyone who is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days. Every open vessel, which has no covering bound on it, is unclean. “Whoever in the open field touches one who is slain with a sword, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days. “For the unclean, they shall take of the ashes of the burning of the sin offering; and running water shall be poured on them in a vessel. A clean person shall take hyssop, dip it in the water, and sprinkle it on the tent, on all the vessels, on the persons who were there, and on him who touched the bone, or the slain, or the dead, or the grave. The clean person shall sprinkle on the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day. On the seventh day, he shall purify him. He shall wash his clothes and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at evening.” (Numbers‬ ‭19‬:‭11‬-‭19‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

The wages of sin is death. When we sin our lifespan is cut short. Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly—that means there are measures of life. Pray to receive life.

The Sermon on the Mount is a constitution of the Kingdom but it is not the New Covenant of Grace. There are elements we can learn and apply, but not everything is applicable to the New Covenant of Grace.

On the other hand, Paul’s letters are written to us who are under Grace.

Put yourself under the bath of the water of God’s word to cleanse you from all the death you have touched.

John 2:6-11 - The wine running out at the wedding in Cana would have been very embarrassing for the wedding couple. It means they did not prepare properly for the wedding.
Stone has a purifying quality. These water pots were likely used for containing the water of purification (containing the ashes of the red heifer).
The word we must hear is the message about Jesus’ finished work at the cross (the water containing the ashes of the red heifer).
Wine is a picture of the Holy Spirit and of joy.
There were six water pots of stone. Six is the number of man. Stone is a picture of the Law.

“Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Jews’ way of purifying, containing two or three metretes apiece. Jesus said to them, “Fill the water pots with water.” So they filled them up to the brim. He said to them, “Now draw some out, and take it to the ruler of the feast.” So they took it. When the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and didn’t know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast called the bridegroom and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when the guests have drunk freely, then that which is worse. You have kept the good wine until now!” This beginning of his signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.” (John‬ ‭2‬:‭6‬-‭11‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

For grandparents, just enjoy your grandchildren, play with them, and send them home. Resist the temptation to meddle with how your child is parenting, and let them handle it.

Hebrews 9:13-14 - The blood of Christ has cleansed our conscience. We must believe that our sins are really forgiven and that we have been made righteous.
“Dead works” is not referring to sinning in general, but specifically trying to become righteous through works and not by faith in Jesus.

“For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled, sanctify to the cleanness of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without defect to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” (Hebrews‬ ‭9‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)
