New Sermon Notes: Pastor Joseph Prince taught us about the spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit and how God will cause these gifts—especially the revelation and power gifts, to operate through us more frequently this year.

The best way to help a person is to give an unbeliever Jesus.

The best thing you can give your children is Jesus.

God does not choose to send lazy people for evangelism. He chooses people who are equipped and who have spent times and seasons studying God’s word.

There are 9 spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit:
3 Vocal gifts
3 Revelation gifts
3 Power gifts

The word of knowledge is a spiritual gift where you supernaturally receive knowledge about the present from God.

The gift of discerning of spirits allows you to supernaturally tell what kind of spirit a person is operating by—whether godly, demonic, or fleshly.

A believer can move in the gifts even when they have bad character. Gift is given by grace, not because a believer earned it.

Ideally, we need to have both the 9 fruits of the Holy Spirit and the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit so that both the power and character are maximized.

The gifts are distributed by the Holy Spirit as He chooses. A believer can operate in all 9 gifts, but some believers move more frequently in certain gifts than other kinds of gifts. We cannot decide when to start moving in a specific gift, except for the gift of speaking in tongues. The rest of the gifts are distributed by the Holy Spirit.

We will move more frequently in the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit this year.

Rise up by hearing God’s word every day

Ecclesiastes 9:11-12 - The word for time in Hebrew is “eth” and in Greek it is “kairos”.
The word chance is “pagah” in Hebrew, and happen is “qarah” in Hebrew.
In Ecclesiastes 9:11, there is Aleph Tav in it. Jesus is the one who makes time and chance happen to us all.

“I returned and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all. For man also doesn’t know his time. As the fish that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare, even so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly on them.” (Ecclesiastes‬ ‭9‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

Exodus 8:23-24 - Flies are a picture of evil spirits. This year especially, God will make a distinction between His people (believers) and those of the world (non-believers).

“I will put a division between my people and your people. This sign shall happen by tomorrow.”’” Yahweh did so; and there came grievous swarms of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his servants’ houses. In all the land of Egypt the land was corrupted by reason of the swarms of flies.” (Exodus‬ ‭8‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭WEBUS‬)

Exodus 9:4 - This year, nothing that we eat shall be afflicted.

“Yahweh will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt; and nothing shall die of all that belongs to the children of Israel.”’”” (Exodus‬ ‭9‬:‭4‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

Exodus 9:26 - This year, nothing from the sky will hurt you.

“Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, there was no hail.” (Exodus‬ ‭9‬:‭26‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

Exodus 10:22-23 - The darkness the Egyptians experienced was supernatural—even striking a flint could not light a fire. We will have supernatural light in our dwellings this year.

“Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days. They didn’t see one another, and nobody rose from his place for three days; but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.” (Exodus‬ ‭10‬:‭22‬-‭23‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

Jesus was a preacher of rest, but there was once that He said “make haste” with regards to Zacchaeus. The time to be saved is now. God is urgent about people’s salvation.

“Aleph Tav” is Jesus’ divine signature in the Scriptures. They are the first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet. In Greek, it is “Alpha” and “Omega”.

Aleph is a picture of a sacrificial ox while Tav is a picture of a cross. Join it together and you will see Jesus as the sacrifice on the cross.

Genesis 1:1 - In the middle of this verse is “Aleph Tav”.

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

Revelation 1:8, 17 - Jesus revealed the mystery of “Aleph Tav” in the Scriptures. He is Aleph Tav.

““I am the Alpha and the Omega, ” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” ….When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man. He laid his right hand on me, saying, “Don’t be afraid. I am the first and the last,” (Revelation‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬, ‭17‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

The current Hebrew year is 5783. 80 is “peh” which is a picture of a mouth. 3 is “gimel” which is a picture of a camel. 83 is “pag” which means green fig.

Mark 11:12-14 - The word “season” in this passage is kairos in Greek.
The first mention of fig leaves in the Scriptures is back in Genesis when Adam and Eve tried to cover themselves with fig leaves. It is a picture of self righteousness. This is why Jesus cursed the fig tree.
We need to let self righteousness in our heart die before faith can flow.

“The next day, when they had come out from Bethany, he was hungry. Seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came to see if perhaps he might find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. Jesus told it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again!” and his disciples heard it.” (Mark‬ ‭11‬:‭12‬-‭14‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

Song of Solomon‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬-‭9 - The Lord sees you as all beautiful with no spot in you. Say the same thing as Him.
The Lord rejoices over you with fresh and passionate bridal love.

“You are all beautiful, my love. There is no spot in you. Come with me from Lebanon, my bride, with me from Lebanon. Look from the top of Amana, from the top of Senir and Hermon, from the lions’ dens, from the mountains of the leopards. You have ravished my heart, my sister, my bride. You have ravished my heart with one of your eyes, with one chain of your neck.” (Song of Solomon‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬-‭9‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

Song of Solomon 2:10-13 - Whatever bad days of winter last year have passed. This year is the time of singing.
This passage is the only mention of “pag” (green figs) in the Scriptures.
We need to rise up higher this year and gather together in one place for service. If you can attend in-person service, then don’t just attend the online service.
“Rise up, my love” could be an allusion or hint of the Rapture as well.

“My beloved spoke, and said to me, “Rise up, my love, my beautiful one, and come away. For behold, the winter is past. The rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth. The time of the singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. The fig tree ripens her green figs. The vines are in blossom. They give out their fragrance. Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away.”” (Song of Solomon‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬-‭13‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

Genesis 22:2 - This is the first mention of love in the Scriptures, and it is about the Father’s love for His Son.

“He said, “Now take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go into the land of Moriah. Offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will tell you of.”” (Genesis‬ ‭22‬:‭2‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

In Genesis 24, the unnamed servant is a picture of the Holy Spirit who is seeking for a bride for our heavenly Isaac (Jesus). That is why it is the longest chapter in the Bible—the Holy Spirit has been seeking the bride for more than 2000 years already.

Genesis 24:67 - This is the second mention of love in the Scriptures, and is about the Bridegroom’s love for His bride.

“Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah’s tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife. He loved her. So Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.” (Genesis‬ ‭24‬:‭67‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

Now the church still seems to be peripheral to the world. But when Jesus returns to rule from Jerusalem, everything will be flipped on its head. Everyone will go up to Jerusalem to worship Him.

Genesis 24:10-12 - The word translated in this passage as “success” is “qarah” in Hebrew. This is the first mention of qarah in the Bible.
The word “kindness” is “hesed” in Hebrew which means grace.
To be at the right time and the right place requires God’s grace.
God takes 10 as the whole. That is why we tithe. The tithe represents all that you have.

“The servant took ten of his master’s camels, and departed, having a variety of good things of his master’s with him. He arose, and went to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor. He made the camels kneel down outside the city by the well of water at the time of evening, the time that women go out to draw water. He said, “Yahweh, the God of my master Abraham, please give me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.” (Genesis‬ ‭24‬:‭10‬-‭12‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

Genesis 24:26-27 - “Loving kindness and his truth” is “hesed ve emet” in Hebrew. This is grace and truth, like in John 1 where it says “grace and truth came by Jesus Christ”.

“The man bowed his head, and worshiped Yahweh. He said, “Blessed be Yahweh, the God of my master Abraham, who has not forsaken his loving kindness and his truth toward my master. As for me, Yahweh has led me on the way to the house of my master’s relatives.”” (Genesis‬ ‭24‬:‭26‬-‭27‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

Genesis 24:19-21 - The word “prosperous” is “tsalach” in Hebrew and is its first mention in the Bible. In Greek, it is “eudoó” (like in 3 John 1:2) which means “to grant a prosperous journey”.
Prosperity is a journey—the journey is more important than the result.

“When she had finished giving him a drink, she said, “I will also draw for your camels, until they have finished drinking.” She hurried, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again to the well to draw, and drew for all his camels. The man looked steadfastly at her, remaining silent, to know whether Yahweh had made his journey prosperous or not.” (Genesis‬ ‭24‬:‭19‬-‭21‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

Genesis 24:21-23 - We have seen plenty of vocal gifts of the Spirit so far but not so much of revelation gifts (word of knowledge, word of wisdom, discerning of spirits). This year we will see the revelation gifts flow more frequently through us.
The “half a shekel” is related to the half of shekel of atonement money paid to the Tabernacle. We were bought by Christ.
The nose is used for discernment. Nose ring is a picture of the discernment/revelation gifts.
The two bracelets are a picture of the power gifts of the Holy Spirit. Ten shekels means it’s five and five shekels on each side (grace grace).

“The man looked steadfastly at her, remaining silent, to know whether Yahweh had made his journey prosperous or not. As the camels had done drinking, the man took a golden ring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold, and said, “Whose daughter are you? Please tell me. Is there room in your father’s house for us to stay?”” (Genesis‬ ‭24‬:‭21‬-‭23‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

Luke 10:38-42 - The word translated as “heard” is in the imperfect tense which means kept on hearing and hearing.
Martha was distracted (the Greek word refers to being pull apart in many directions) with much serving.
Out of many things, Mary chose “the good part”—the most important part, which is to sit at Jesus’ feet and hear His word.

“As they went on their way, he entered into a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. She had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard his word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she came up to him, and said, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister left me to serve alone? Ask her therefore to help me.” Jesus answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her.”” (Luke‬ ‭10‬:‭38‬-‭42‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

Isaiah 55:2-3 - Hear God’s word everyday and let your soul delight in its fatness.

“Why do you spend money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which doesn’t satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in richness. Turn your ear, and come to me. Hear, and your soul will live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.” (Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

Job 29:6 - When you wash your steps with butter (fatness of God’s word), Jesus (the rock) will pour out streams of oil (anointing) for you.

“when my steps were washed with butter, and the rock poured out streams of oil for me,” (Job‬ ‭29‬:‭6‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

Luke 10:40 - When you go to Jesus, you are coming “up” to Him. You are riser higher.

“But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she came up to him, and said, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister left me to serve alone? Ask her therefore to help me.”” (Luke‬ ‭10‬:‭40‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬)

All Things Made New: How to Prosper in All Things Through God's Restoration

When God restores, He adds His shalom (all-encompassing prosperity), to that area of loss. No matter how you have lost, you will become a gainer through God’s restoration. 83 is formed by adding 80 to 3 which is adding the letter "Pay" to the letter "Gimel" to form "Pag" which means "fig" (read Song of Songs 2:10-13).
