24 January 2021 - Have a Vision of our Good God - Pastor Lawrence Lim Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon Notes

Pastor Lawrence Lim showed us who God is from the Scriptures, that He is absolutely good. God wants you to prosper in all things and be healthy. God heals and provides for all your needs. It is crucial for us to have a right vision of God. When the world sees God's great goodness manifested in our lives, they will be in awe of Him!

Matthew 7:11 - Every good gift is from God in Heaven. All we need is to ask our Father, and expect to receive from Him.

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” (Matthew‬ ‭7:11‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Luke 12:32 - Boldly ask for everything that you need. It is Abba God’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. He will provide for every need.

“Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.” (Luke‬ ‭12:32‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

The Bible kind of hope is a confident expectation of good things to come. Let your hope arise. Today is a good day for your miracle and breakthrough.

Psalm 118:1 - God is absolutely good.

“Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.” (Psalms‬ ‭118:1‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

John 10:10 - Our perspective of God has to be in accordance with Jesus Christ and who He is.

“The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.” (John‬ ‭10:10‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Ephesians 1:17 - God wants us to know Him.

“that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;” (Ephesians‬ ‭1:17‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

2 Peter 1:2 - We receive experience multiplied grace and peace when we know God and Jesus Christ.
We have to have a vision of who God really is.

“Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,” (2 Peter‬ ‭1:2‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

1 Timothy 1:17 - God is invisible to our natural eyes.

“Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.” (1 Timothy‬ ‭1:17‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Hebrews 11:27 - We must see God with the eyes of our heart (spiritual eyes).

“By faith, he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.” (Hebrews‬ ‭11:27‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

John 1:18 - No one has seen God the Father at any time.

“No one has seen God at any time. The one and only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him.” (John‬ ‭1:18‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Colossians 1:15 - We see the invisible God by looking at Jesus.
Jesus is the exact representation of Abba God.
God is a good God, and He is always good.

“who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.” (Colossians‬ ‭1:15‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Seeing Jesus in the Scriptures allows you to know God the Father

Acts 10:38 - God heals. Healing is His will for you.
Sickness is an oppression from the devil.

“even Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.” (Acts‬ ‭10:38‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

3 John 1:2 - God wants you to prosper in all things and be healthy. We are blessed in this lifetime, and in eternity to come.

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers.” (3 John‬ ‭1:2‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Matthew 8:2-3 - The leper knew that Jesus could heal but he didn’t know whether He wanted to heal him.
Jesus showed that He is willing. God still wants to heal you today.

“Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean.” Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be made clean.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.” (Matthew‬ ‭8:2-3‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus healed when He was on earth, and He will continue to heal today, and in the future.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews‬ ‭13:8‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Isaiah 53:5 - The price for your healing has already been paid.
Jesus took your diseases and pains upon Himself at the cross.

“But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah‬ ‭53:5‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Do not judge God by human experience and the circumstances that people face in life. See God through the holy Scriptures, in the person of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Lawrence shared a testimony about a woman who partook of Holy Communion daily for her dad who was warded in hospital for COVID-19. Her dad had other underlying medical conditions, but praise Jesus, he came back home totally healed and free from COVID-19.

Our God is exceedingly, abundantly, better than we can ask, think or imagine.

Psalm 67:5-7 - It is when God blesses His people that all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.

“Let the peoples praise you, God. Let all the peoples praise you. The earth has yielded its increase. God, even our own God, will bless us. God will bless us. All the ends of the earth shall fear him.” (Psalms‬ ‭67:5-7‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Matthew 4:10 - Jesus translated the “fear of God” as the “worship of God”.

“Then Jesus said to him, “Get behind me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.’”” (Matthew‬ ‭4:10‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Romans 8:15 - The fear of the Lord is not a slavish fear. We received a spirit of adoption, not of bondage again to fear.

“For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”” (Romans‬ ‭8:15‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Jeremiah 33:9 - The goodness of God is what causes people to have a reverential and worshipful awe of Him.

“This city shall be to me for a name of joy, for a praise and for a glory, before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do to them, and shall fear and tremble for all the good and for all the peace that I procure to it.’”” (Jeremiah‬ ‭33:9‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Romans 2:4 - It is the goodness of God that leads a person to repentance.
Today, the Gospel is good news.

“Or do you despise the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?” (Romans‬ ‭2:4‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

2 Corinthians 5:19 - God is not counting our sins against us.

“namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation.” (2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:19‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

John 3:16-17 - God’s heart is not to condemn you but to save you.
God already punished His Son so that He can bless you.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.” (John‬ ‭3:16-17‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Romans 8:28 - We live in a fallen world. There are difficulties and challenges that we go through that are not from God.
In this age, where ‘truth’ is constantly changing and distorted, we can be sure that all things will ultimately work together for good for us who are believers.

“We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans‬ ‭8:28‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Acts 10:43-44 - Cornelius and his household were the first Gentiles that God sent the Gospel to.
The Holy Spirit fell on the Gentiles when Peter was proclaiming that everyone who believes in Jesus will receive the forgiveness of sins.
This is still the crux of the Gospel today.

“All the prophets testify about him, that through his name everyone who believes in him will receive remission of sins.” While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who heard the word.” (Acts‬ ‭10:43-44‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

1 Corinthians 15:3 - Forgiveness of sins is the most important blessing of all.

“For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:3‬ ‭WEB‬‬)
