New Sermon Notes: Pastor Joseph Prince taught about the benefits of Jesus’ finished work at the cross. God wants us to possess much more of our inheritance in Christ, including provision and healing!

1. Refuge - New Creation Worship

Hebrews 11:6 - Faith is fully persuaded in God’s goodness and grace.
Faith justifies God and makes the devil a liar.

“Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.” (Hebrews‬ ‭11:6‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Romans 1:17 - The righteous by faith shall live. We receive eternal life through faith in Jesus.

“For in it is revealed God’s righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, “But the righteous shall live by faith.”” (Romans‬ ‭1:17‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Revelation 21:8 - The worst kind of sins are fear, unbelief (lack of trust in God’s words).

“But for the cowardly, unbelieving, sinners, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”” (Revelation‬ ‭21:8‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Faith is a rest. In the temple, the outer court is very busy and bustling but in the Holy of Holies, there is perfect peace.

We are seated with Christ in Heaven. We are in this place by faith and not by sight.

Obadiah 1:17 - It is one thing to have your possessions, and another thing to possess your possessions. God wants His people to possess more of what He has for us.

“But in Mount Zion, there will be those who escape, and it will be holy. The house of Jacob will possess their possessions.” (Obadiah‬ ‭1:17‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Psalm 103:1-3 - We must remember all the benefits God has given to us. Forgiveness of sins is the most important benefit.

“Praise Yahweh, my soul! All that is within me, praise his holy name! Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases;” (Psalms‬ ‭103:1-3‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Joshua 1:2-3 - We have to tread on the land to possess what God has given to us. We must receive what He promised.

““Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go across this Jordan, you, and all these people, to the land which I am giving to them, even to the children of Israel. I have given you every place that the sole of your foot will tread on, as I told Moses.” (Joshua‬ ‭1:2-3‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

God is still supplying miracles like divine healing today

Hebrews 4:3 - For a believer, the land of God is a land of rest. Rest means it is not you earning good things, but it is based on you benefiting from the work of another.
If you believe right you will live right.

“For we who have believed do enter into that rest, even as he has said, “As I swore in my wrath, they will not enter into my rest”; although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.” (Hebrews‬ ‭4:3‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Hebrews 11:11 - Faith is having a good opinion of God.

“By faith, even Sarah herself received power to conceive, and she bore a child when she was past age, since she counted him faithful who had promised.” (Hebrews‬ ‭11:11‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Hebrews 4:6 - Holiness is not the reason for us possessing our possessions. It was the children of Israel’s unbelief that prevented them from entering the promised land.

“Seeing therefore it remains that some should enter therein, and they to whom the good news was before preached failed to enter in because of disobedience,” (Hebrews‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Deuteronomy 1:27 - The children of Israel had a bad opinion of God.

“You murmured in your tents, and said, “Because Yahweh hated us, he has brought us out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.” (Deuteronomy‬ ‭1:27‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Romans 10:14-17 - Faith comes from hearing and hearing the preached word of Christ.

“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher? And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Good News of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!” But they didn’t all listen to the glad news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans‬ ‭10:14-17‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Joshua 13:1 - The children of Israel could have gotten complacent and stopped possessing land aggressively.

“Now Joshua was old and well advanced in years. Yahweh said to him, “You are old and advanced in years, and there remains yet very much land to be possessed.” (Joshua‬ ‭13:1‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Isaiah 53:4-5 - The word “surely” is translated from the Hebrew word “aken” which is a strong affirmation.
The word “sickness” is from the Hebrew word “kholee” (sicknesses) and the word “suffering” is from “makov” (physical pains).

“Surely he has borne our sickness, and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah‬ ‭53:4-5‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Matthew 8:16-17 - Jesus healed people physically. It is not talking about spiritual healing.

“When evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, “He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases.”” (Matthew‬ ‭8:16-17‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

When we partake of the Holy Communion, do not just think of forgiveness of sins. That is through the blood of Jesus, but on top of that, His body was broken for our healing.

Isaiah 53:2 - This is in the context of Jesus marred and disfigured at the cross.

“For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no good looks or majesty. When we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.” (Isaiah‬ ‭53:2‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Song of Solomon 5:16 - The bridegroom represents Jesus. He is altogether lovely—not plain or ugly. There was no trace of sin in His body. He is probably the most good looking person on earth.

“His mouth is sweetness; yes, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, daughters of Jerusalem.” (Song of Solomon‬ ‭5:16‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Matthew 27:46 - Jesus said this so that today we can say, “My Father, my Father, why have You so blessed me?”

“About the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lima sabachthani?” That is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”” (Matthew‬ ‭27:46‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

The Sermon on the Mount was designed as the constitution for the Kingdom. There is another sermon for Mount Zion which is all the truths Jesus shared privately to His disciples in the upper room.

John 14:17, John 15, John 16:13 - The Holy Spirit is called the “Spirit of Truth” thrice in the Gospel of John. He can only bear witness with the truth.

Hebrews 2:4 - The Holy Spirit testifies with us by signs and wonders when we proclaim the Gospel truth.

“God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders, by various works of power, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?” (Hebrews‬ ‭2:4‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

James 5:14-15 - The prayer of faith means you believe in Jesus’ finished work at the cross, that because of it, you are already healed. Jesus already took your sickness at the cross.

“Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” (James‬ ‭5:14-15‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

2 Peter 3:9 - God’s will is for all to be saved. However, not everyone will choose to place their faith in Jesus.

“The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

1 Corinthians 11:29-30 - Many believers are weak, sick, and die prematurely because they fail to discern the Lord’s body. To partake worthily of the Lord’s Supper means you are conscious of how healed and forgiven you are because of the broken body of Jesus and the shed blood of Jesus.

“For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy way eats and drinks judgment to himself, if he doesn’t discern the Lord’s body. For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭11:29-30‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

1 Corinthians 11:25 - The Lord’s love language is the Lord’s Supper. That is how He wants you to remember His finished work at the cross. Every time you partake, you are proclaiming His death at the cross.

“In the same way he also took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink, in memory of me.”” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭11:25‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Matthew 7:20 - Is a ministry winning souls for God’s Kingdom? That is a measure of the success and legitimacy of a ministry.

“Therefore by their fruits you will know them.” (Matthew‬ ‭7:20‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

1 Corinthians 13:8-10 - The gifts of the Holy Spirit have not ceased. The complete/perfect has not yet come. That will happen after Jesus returns.

“Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part; but when that which is complete has come, then that which is partial will be done away with.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:8-10‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Acts 20:24 - Pastor Prince does not teach the Prosperity Gospel. He preaches the Gospel of the Grace of God.

“But these things don’t count; nor do I hold my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify to the Good News of the grace of God.” (Acts‬ ‭20:24‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Genesis 39:3, Psalm 1:2-3, 3 John 1:2, 2 Corinthians 8:9 - The Bible is full of examples that show it is God’s will for us to prosper.

God is owner of the cattle of a thousand hills. All the gold and silver is His. He is the possessor of Heaven and earth. And yet He became a man, took on flesh, so that we can save us from our sins and purchase our blessings with His blood.

Pastor Prince never said that we would all become millionaires. He said we would have more than enough, and be blessed with enough that we can have excess to give to others.

Pastor Prince says he has no heart for money. He has gone without salary from the church for twelve years already. He said next year he is going to give up his intellectual property. He will remove the “pay wall”—his sermons will be made free for all. His trust is in the Lord to supply all his needs.

1 Timothy 5:17 - Every church should take care of their pastor. Pastor Prince’s decision not to take a salary is a personal revelation for him from the Lord. It is not for everyone.

“Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and in teaching.” (1 Timothy‬ ‭5:17‬ ‭WEB‬)

Luke 8:14 - Jesus wore the crown of thorns to redeem you from fear, worries, and cares.

“That which fell among the thorns, these are those who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity.” (Luke‬ ‭8:14‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Genesis 3:19, Luke 22:44 - Jesus sweat blood (hematidrosis) in the Garden of Gethsemane, and the blood dropped on the ground, redeeming us from the curse of toil that came upon Adam in the Garden of Eden.

“By the sweat of your face will you eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”” (Genesis‬ ‭3:19‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

“Being in agony he prayed more earnestly. His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down on the ground.” (Luke‬ ‭22:44‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

These sermon notes are independently-compiled by me, and I'm just a loyal and regular attendee of the the church's Sunday services, and I feel led to take detailed personal sermon notes of Pastor Prince's anointed messages to share them with the world, which desperately needs the true word of God and the original gospel of grace.
