7 Feb 2021 - One Thing to Prosper in All Things - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPastor Joseph Prince taught that God’s plan to prosper you in all things is very simple. Jesus has done the difficult part, so your one part is simple: give attention to meditating on His word. There are many distractions that the enemy uses to draw us away in different directions. He wants to prevent us from receiving the numerous benefits of this powerful activity. Meditate on God's word and you shall be exercising yourself towards godliness which is great gain to you in this life, and in eternity to come! Praise and Worship Songs Performed: 1. You Alone - Don Harris Psalm 1:3 - There is one thing you can do that will produce success and prosperity in every area of your life. It is a simple thing: meditating on God’s word. When you are generous, it will also cause all the work of your hands to be blessed. “He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that produces its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper.” (Psalms 1:3 WEB) Matthew 6:33 - If you want to pursue something in life, seek God’s kingdom as the first priority. God’s way is simple—one thing that causes you to have all things given to you. God is not against you having money. Lots of money is needed for furthering the Gospel in these last days. But He is against money having you. “But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33 WEB) 1 Timothy 6:6 - When you exercise yourself towards godliness, it will be great gain to you. “But godliness with contentment is great gain.” (1 Timothy 6:6 WEB) 1 Timothy 4:7-9 - Bodily exercise is good, but only has some benefits (such as fitness). Exercising yourself towards godliness is profitable for all things in your life. “But refuse profane and old wives’ fables. Exercise yourself toward godliness. For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now, and of that which is to come. This saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance.” (1 Timothy 4:7-9 WEB) 3 John 1:2 - The first thing God wants for us is soul prosperity. The words “even as” means in “exact proportion to”. The more you prosper in your soul, the more you will prosper outwardly in all things and in your health. The apostle John will not pray something that is against God’s will. Gaius, the one that John is praying for, was already prospering in his soul. He was walking in the truth. Pray for you and your loved ones to prosper in all things and be healthy. “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers.” (3 John 1:2 WEB) 1 Timothy 3:16 - The Greek word for “godliness”, “eusebeia”, has the literal meaning of “good worship”. “Eu” means good or well, and “sebomai” is “worship, to pay homage, or venerate”. Godliness is not a work but something you exercise yourself unto. The verse below is about Jesus. When you are engaged with Jesus and the redemptive truths of the Gospel, that is exercising yourself unto godliness. “Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: God was revealed in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.” (1 Timothy 3:16 WEB) 1 Timothy 4:13-15 - Give attention to reading and meditating on God’s word. Then, your profiting will be visible to all people and in all things. “Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.” (I Timothy 4:13-15 NKJV) 1 Timothy 4:16 - When you meditate on God’s word, you will be saved from troubles, from diseases, from poverty, etc. This “save” in the passage is not talking about salvation from Hell since it is addressed to Timothy—a believer who is already saved. “Pay attention to yourself, and to your teaching. Continue in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.” (1 Timothy 4:16 WEB)
