10 Ways to Level up Your Look This Year at Yoon Salon

​1) ​Have a Premium Haircut

During the “Circuit Breaker” partial lockdown in Singapore, I didn’t cut my hair for three months. It grew to the longest it’s ever been in my life.

​I didn’t like it though. It was too messy and the long strands kept blowing into my eye and tickling my face. So I went to snip off the excess strands and it felt so much better!

If you’re unsure if your scalp will react badly to the bleach, you can try a patch test before doing the service.

This means using a little amount of the bleach solution on a small ‘test’ area first. If your body doesn’t react adversely to the chemical, then it should be fine for you. You can always check with the stylist if you have any concerns.

This is my first time trying this service here. What I felt was just a cold and slightly stingy feeling on my scalp. But it was all gone after washing. Overall, it was a very bearable experience!

4) Do Premium Creative Colouring

If you’re not too sure about creative colouring, you might first want to try highlights instead to ‘test the waters’.

This means, just colouring certain sections of your mane. Adding a little pop of colour here and there can look very interesting and stylish.

Get expert opinion from the stylists if you are hesitant because they’ll know which parts to highlight to enhance your best features and improve your overall look!

5) ​Get Premium Perming

Ever wondered what you’d look like with curls? If you’re born with a straight, streaky crown like me, you may have played with that idea sometimes.

I recently had perming done too. And surprisingly it turned out well. But of course, I do prefer a moderately wavy hair look. So, that’s how I style my crown nowadays.

It’s up to your individual preference. You can tell the stylist to do tighter curls for a more curly look, or loose curls for a milder change.

I noticed a trend of ladies liking to perm the ends of their locks to achieve more volume and have ‘princess-like locks’. If you’re interested to try that, let the stylist know.
