5 Life Lessons and Moral Value that I Learnt from "Snowpiercer" (Spoilers Ahead!) 5 Life Lessons and Moral Value that I Learnt from "Snowpiercer" (Spoilers Ahead!)1) When you lead people with fear, they will revolt once there's an opportunity to do so. Lead with love instead. The people in the third class of the Snowpiercer took the opportunity to cause a violent revolution because they were oppressed and mistreated for years. It led to a bloody onslaught and in the end, it cost the lives of all passengers except Yona and the child. The way of fear and war never leads to a happy ending. 2) Many people will fight to maintain their comfort zone, even at the expense of someone else's welfare. There is a class struggle onboard the train. Minister Mason is a representative of the passengers living in luxury in the first class cabins of the Snowpiercer. At the expense of the people's health and safety, the passengers in the first class keep the passengers living in the third class so that they can maintain their lavish lifestyle. Any sign of rebellion and disobedience is quenched with cruel torture and an iron first. 3) Propaganda is a powerful tool that shapes societies and influences minds. We must be careful what we fill our minds with because it will affect who we develop to become. In this scene, we are shown the education system that the children in first and second class participate in. From their young age, they are taught to idolise and worship the owner of the Snowpiercer, Wilford. This is a microcosm of society-at-large where we are fed information and ideas daily from marketing companies, the governments, and other organisations, etc. Inevitably, these ideas affect us and our development, shaping us into the person we are. 4) Be careful who you trust. Watch your back when you have to associate with people who have a track record of betrayal, lest they stab you in the back when you least expect it. Seizing the opportunity during chaos, Minister Mason grabbed a nearby submachine gun to kill the third class passengers who had kept her as hostage. When she was overpowered, she lied and begged for her life. Her allegiance belongs to no one, and only to her own selfish gain. Choose who you keep close to you carefully! 5) Being a leader is a huge responsibility. Tough decisions that involve sacrifices have to be made. It's hard to please everybody at once. When Curtis learnt of the joint agreement between Wilford and Gilliam to maintain the balance in the Snowpiercer, he felt utterly disappointed and lied to. When offered the role to lead the Snowpiercer to replace Wilford, he then realised, tough choices have to be made to ensure that the human race continues to live on in safety in the Snowpiercer.
