3 July 2015 - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online - Pastor Joseph Prince Hillsong Conference 2015 Friday Morning MessageEvery knee will bow at the name of Jesus. The world is not anti-God, they are anti-Christ. Jesus has lost the centrality. Jesus wants to be in the center of our lives! When Jesus is in the middle of your life, all things are held together. Pastor Joseph Prince says that Pastor Brian Houston's new book, "Live, Love, Lead" is the best book on Christ-Centered Leadership. John 1:17 - Things can be "given" from a distance, but "came" is close and personal. The Law is not the truth. The Law is holy, but it cannot make us righteous. "For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ." (John 1:17 NKJV) True growth is the growing awareness of how weak we are, and having a growing dependence on Christ. God is holy, but the aspect that God wants us to know about is His love for us. There are some things that we can get out of, but there some things we have to go through to enrich the body of Christ. Romans 6:14 - When we are under grace, we will not live a sinful lifestyle. "For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace." (Romans 6:14 NKJV) Galatians 4:1-7 - When Israel was an infant, they were put under the Law. Grace is the original gospel. "Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ." (Galatians 4:1-7 NKJV) The more we understand how much Christ loves His church, the more we are able to love our spouse and the people around us. The first response of a sinner towards God is the awareness of God's holiness, not the love of God. What needs to be taught is God's love. That takes the Holy Spirit. Every addiction starts with putting confidence in the flesh. We need to put all our confidence in Christ. When serving in ministry, some people are doing it for the wrong reasons. When we know grace, we will serve with faith, hope and love. We are the righteousness of God by faith, not by our works. Jesus is thrice-holy, and yet His holiness is approachable. Under Law, the unclean will make the clean, unclean. Under grace, the clean makes the unclean, clean! Matthew 11:20-24 - The way to reach out to the lost is through doing mighty works of God, not by telling them that they need to change their behavior. "Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent: “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you. And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you.”" (Matthew 11:20-24 NKJV) Luke 15:1-7 - Being called a "friend of sinners" by critics is the greatest compliment because that's who Jesus was. No human shepherd leaves all his sheep to search out one lost sheep. Only God does, and He rejoices when one of us is saved! By consenting to be loved by Jesus like the sheep in the parable, we are repenting. It is the goodness of God that leads us to repentance. "Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.” So He spoke this parable to them, saying: “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance." (Luke 15:1-7 NKJV) When we boast in our own strength or complain about our lack, we are trusting in our own efforts. It is none of us, it's all of Jesus!
