15 January 2017 - Rest and Receive Your Victory - Pastor Mark Ng Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlineWhen you are completely absorbed in Jesus, your life will surely be transformed. 1940 Cultural Revolution in China - persecution of Christians in China. China received a word from the Holy Spirit in that time that this generation would bring the pure gospel back to Jerusalem. Israel already knows the Law. If you tell them about the Law, they will say "I already know and have the Law!". But if you preach grace to Israel, they will receive the Lord Jesus Christ. The woman by the well in Samaria who had a shameful past and lifestyle had an encounter with Jesus and she became a bold evangelist for God! When we become conscious of Jesus, we are not conscious about ourselves. Condemnation is the nutrient that helps sin to grow bigger and bigger. Romans 4:25 - We are not just forgiven of our sins, we are also justified before God! Jesus was delivered up because of our offenses! “who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.” (Romans 4:25 NKJV) Romans 10:10 - Your mouth will surely speak when faith arises in your heart. “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:10 NKJV) Transformation doesn't come by trying to change yourself. The more you try to change yourself and suppress the evil desires, the more you will struggle. Transformation comes when you behold Christ. Grace makes us become real. You won't be ashamed of yourself because we are not ashamed of the gospel. We will boast of our weaknesses so that God's power will rest upon us. All transformation comes when we know that we are forgiven. Don't worry about your children. The Bible says that the seed of the righteous are blessed and will be delivered. God the Father affirmed Jesus twice: once at the River Jordan (at the lowest point of the surface of the earth) before Jesus even performed any miracles or works, and once on Mount Hermon (at the highest point). Affirm your child at all times, whether at the high points or the lowest points in their lives. It's not our performance, it's who we are in Jesus that matters. Our children need to know that we love them for who they are, not just when they perform well. Grace gives us moral excellence and good character. Sometimes the legalistic tendencies in us arises when we face challenges. You will hear the Lord speaking to you clearly when you are not sin-conscious but Christ-conscious. Galatians 3:5 - Deliverance from sickness is not by your works, but by hearing. “Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?—” (Galatians 3:5 NKJV) Psalms 105:37 - There is no such thing as a prosperity gospel, but Prosperity is a product of the gospel. We are not pursuing prosperity but we are pursuing Jesus! When you pursue Jesus, blessings just come. When Peter obeyed Jesus, we hauled up a huge catch of fish. He wasn't pursuing the fish, he was pursuing Jesus! Joseph and Mary were poor. They could only offer doves at the temple. But when Jesus was born, the wise men sought Jesus and brought gold, frankincense and myrrh to them. When the children of Israel partook of the Passover lamb (which represents Jesus), they came out of Egypt wealthy and healthy! “He also brought them out with silver and gold, And there was none feeble among His tribes.” (Psalms 105:37 NKJV) We read the Bible to discover our Lord, not to earn His blessings. We must look for the Blesser, not for the blessings. Rest does not mean inactivity. Rest means resting in God's love for you and that God is fighting your battles for you. When Peter recognized that it was Jesus, he jumped into the sea and swam towards Jesus, and Peter's partner pulled the catch of fishes onto the shore - Peter didn't have to do it - the blessings followed him! Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things that we need will be added to us. Jesus became poor to make us blessed. There is no such thing as a prosperity gospel, but Prosperity is a product of the gospel. Even when you have made mistakes, God is still for you. Genesis 32:10-12 - Despite your fear, pray! Remember and hold onto God's promises for your life! Don't focus on your hurt, you will get bitter. Focus on Jesus! “I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies and of all the truth which You have shown Your servant; for I crossed over this Jordan with my staff, and now I have become two companies. Deliver me, I pray, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau; for I fear him, lest he come and attack me and the mother with the children. For You said, ‘I will surely treat you well, and make your descendants as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.’ ”” (Genesis 32:10-12 NKJV) Genesis 31:6-7 - Your God is bigger than your problems! Jacob had a good opinion of God. God is watching over you. The "but" in the verse represents a change of mind. Instead of using "but" as an excuse as to justify why it cannot happen, you can use "but" as a reason why it can happen for your good because God is for you! “And you know that with all my might I have served your father. Yet your father has deceived me and changed my wages ten times, but God did not allow him to hurt me.” (Genesis 31:6-7 NKJV) Genesis 50:20 - Joseph said "but" to declare that God is with him. “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” (Genesis 50:20 NKJV) Isaiah 60:2- - The prophet Isaiah said "but" to declare that God is with us. “For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.” (Isaiah 60:2 NKJV) John 16:33 - Jesus said "but" to encourage us that He has already won the victory for us. “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”” (John 16:33 NKJV) Jubilee - 禧年 : 17 strokes in the word. 17 is the number of Victory! The word 禧 is made up of two parts which mean "God" and "joy". This year, be full of the joy of the Lord! We have the victory! Hebrews 12:2 - God is seated and rested, and He wants us to rest too. “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2 NKJV) Genesis 8:4 - The Ark represents Jesus. Jesus has rested. The seventeenth day of the seventh month is the day that Jesus was resurrected. Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we can assuredly rest. The curse was reversed on the mountains of Ararat. “Then the ark rested in the seventh month, the seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat.” (Genesis 8:4 NKJV) The blessing of Abraham is that we are the righteousness of God in Christ.
