21 July 2019 - What Grieves the Holy Spirit - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship Songs performed by Pat Barrett: (I missed one or two songs before this) 1. Yes and Amen - Pat Barrett 2. Build My Life - Pat Barrett 3. Good Good Father - Pat Barrett If any man serves Jesus, God the Father will honor him. When you getyour rewards from God, remember to give Him all the honor for it. In Heaven, we’ll cast all our crowns before Him. When you use the Grace that God first gave you, He rewards you for it. In the body of Christ, different preachers are called to preach with a slightly different focus in their heart. There’s no competition—only collaboration. Matthew 25:14-23 - The talents represent giftings. The servants gave glory to their master for giving them the talents. We can’t do anything without Jesus, but with Him we can do all things because He strengthens us. The servant gained five more talents. “Gained” means that it’s God’s favor that enabled the increase. ““For it is like a man, going into another country, who called his own servants, and entrusted his goods to them. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his own ability. Then he went on his journey. Immediately he who received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. In the same way, he also who got the two gained another two. But he who received the one talent went away and dug in the earth, and hid his lord’s money. “Now after a long time the lord of those servants came, and reconciled accounts with them. He who received the five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained another five talents besides them.’ “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ “He also who got the two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents. Behold, I have gained another two talents besides them.’ “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’” (Matthew 25:14-23 WEB) Matthew 25:24-25 - The word “hard” in Greek has the idea of harsh, stern and even violent. All fear is caused by a wrong perception of God. When being tested by the devil in the wilderness, Jesus translated the fear of the Lord to be worship of the Lord. Hate follows the heels of fear. God doesn’t want you to hate Him. When the wrong kind of fear comes in, a person is unable to use the gifting that he has received and becomes unfruitful. Right believing leads to right living. Wrong believing leads to wrong living, serving and giving. ““He also who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter. I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have what is yours.’” (Matthew 25:24-25 WEB) When Peter ministered healing to the lame man in the Book of Acts, he was quick to give all glory to Jesus and let the people know that it was not because of his own power or holiness. The Holy Spirit cannot be grieved when you eat cookies during service. He is not so brittle and doesn’t take off like a scared bird because of all these trivialities.

14 July 2019 - Secrets From Moses’ 40 Days - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon Notes(Originally preached on 26 November 2014) John 1:17 - The Law was given from a distance, but Grace (Jesus) came in person. The Law is true, but Grace is the truth that will set you free. “For the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.” (John 1:17 WEB) A servant (Moses) can tell you what claims and demands the Master has upon you, but it takes the Son to unveil the heart of God. Exodus 32:30 - Moses wasn’t sure (he said “perhaps”) that he could make atonement for Israel, whereas our Lord Jesus went up to the cross sure that He would make atonement for us. “On the next day, Moses said to the people, “You have sinned a great sin. Now I will go up to Yahweh. Perhaps I shall make atonement for your sin.”” (Exodus 32:30 WEB) Moses had 2 occasions of 40 days with God—1) Moses came down because of Israel’s idolatry, 2) Moses came down from Mount Sinai after receiving all commandants and statutes from God. Jesus also had 2 occasions of 40 days with God—1) the testing from the devil in the wilderness. Jesus came out of the 40 days with the power to bless. 2) Jesus spent 40 days with the disciples on earth after His resurrection. 40 is the number of testing, trial or probation. Jesus was not tempted to sin. He was tested by the devil. Jesus had no sin nature, so there was no stirrings inside Him when the devil tried to tempt Him. Jesus was born of a virgin, being totally free from sin from birth. Jesus is impeccable. It’s not that He would not sin—He could not sin. Jesus is like a pure gold bar, tested and verified that there is no impurity in Him. It’s not enough to know a person’s ways. You must know the person’s heart. Does God judge and discipline? Yes. But He doesn’t punish believers. Today the world is interested in creation. In the whole Bible, only only one chapter was dedicated to creation—Genesis 1. However, Moses wrote 7 chapters dedicated to God’s redemption—Exodus 25-31, corresponding to Moses’ 40 days on Mount Sinai. Deuteronomy 9:8-12 - During the period of Egypt to Sinai, God dealt with Israel by pure Grace. There was no record that God was ever angry with them during that time. Israel kept sinning against God during that time, but God just kept providing for their needs. It was not dependent on Israel’s goodness, but on His goodness. Had Israel said “Don’t bless us based on our faithfulness but on Your faithfulness,” God wouldn’t have given them the Law. The Law was never given to justify man, but to expose man’s sinfulness. The Law results in the wrath of God. Do you want to be under Law or Grace? How can we be fulfilled by the shadow (Law), when the substance (Grace) has already been given? Moses had the Grace to fast for 40 days and 40 nights. Read the Four Gospels—in the presence of Jesus, no one died. In His presence there is healing and even resurrection. To partake unworthily of Holy Communion means to act as though your sins are not already all forgiven. Moses only received the tablets of the Ten Commandments at the end of the 40 days. Moses broke the two tablets of the Ten Commandments and God wasn’t angry. If Moses had brought the tablets into the camp, all the children of Israel would have died—the Law is the ministry of death. Whoever was on Moses’ side gathered to him (specifically the tribe of Levi), and they slew 3000 people who insistent on worshiping the golden calf. On the other hand, when the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Day of Pentecost, 3000 souls were saved. The second time Moses came down from the mountain with the new tablets of the Law, Moses put them in the Ark of the Covenant—a picture of our sins covered and forgiven because of the blood of Jesus Christ. “Also in Horeb you provoked Yahweh to wrath, and Yahweh was angry with you to destroy you. When I had gone up onto the mountain to receive the stone tablets, even the tablets of the covenant which Yahweh made with you, then I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights. I neither ate bread nor drank water. Yahweh delivered to me the two stone tablets written with God’s finger. On them were all the words which Yahweh spoke with you on the mountain out of the middle of the fire in the day of the assembly. It came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights, that Yahweh gave me the two stone tablets, even the tablets of the covenant. Yahweh said to me, “Arise, get down quickly from here; for your people whom you have brought out of Egypt have corrupted themselves. They have quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them. They have made a molten image for themselves!”” (Deuteronomy 9:8-12 WEB) Israel boasted in their ability to do anything that God wanted (Exodus 19). They pledged obedience to whatever contract without seeing it first. Right after that, God covered the mountain in a dark cloud and said that whoever approached would die. Before that, God never did this. What was the result of Israel’s boasting? They committed idolatry by making a golden calf to worship. Under Grace, we can draw near to God and receive more life—it is a new and living way. The blood of bulls and goats only provides a temporary covering. The blood of Jesus provides a lasting forgiveness. The blood of Jesus has made us totally righteous. God the Father is so pleased with Jesus’ finished work. We are no longer under Law, but under Grace. We are sons, not just servants. 30 June 2019 - The Menorah: Jesus and the Church - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed: (I probably missed two songs before this) 1. Way Maker - Sinach 2. In Whom I Can Trust - Steven Wee 3. I Want To Sing Until I Am Lost In Your Love - Malcolm du Plessis 4. I Stand In Worship - New Creation Worship You are special and you have a calling and destiny. God made you unique. Even if you were born out of wedlock, God can still use you mightily. You are called for an assignment. Every time you come to the house of God, that assignment becomes clearer and clearer. There is an assignment from God within your assignment. Every time you come to the house of God, take down notes. There is a special place in Heaven for those who take down notes. Psalm 36:7-9 - The shadow of His wings is a picture of protection. The words “loving kindness” in Hebrew is hesed which means Grace. When you have a revelation of God’s Grace, the supernaturally natural response is to have faith in God’s protection. There is a bountiful feast always prepared for God’s children in the house of God. The word “pleasures” in Hebrew is the plural form of Eden. You can enjoy the pleasures of Paradise in God’s house. When you read or listen to God’s word, you will receive solutions to the problems that you’re facing, even if the word has nothing to do with your problem — in God’s light we will see light. “How precious is your loving kindness, God! The children of men take refuge under the shadow of your wings. They shall be abundantly satisfied with the abundance of your house. You will make them drink of the river of your pleasures. For with you is the spring of life. In your light shall we see light.” (Psalms 36:7-9 WEB) Luke 24:18-27 - Cleopas and the other disciple were heading home on the road to Emmaus on the same day of Jesus’ resurrection. The two disciples had a dim revelation of Jesus. They only saw Jesus as a prophet, and they made Jesus just a side-issue — a means to an end of the restoration of Israel. But Jesus called Himself the Christ. Jesus then expounded from Moses (the first 5 books of the Old Testament) and the prophets to the two disciples. “One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things which have happened there in these days?” He said to them, “What things?” They said to him, “The things concerning Jesus, the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people; and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him. But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened. Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb; and when they didn’t find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive. Some of us went to the tomb, and found it just like the women had said, but they didn’t see him.” He said to them, “Foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Didn’t the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?” Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.” (Luke 24:18-27 WEB) Exodus 25:8-9 - In the first five Books of Moses, there’s only 2 chapters devoted to creation in the Book of Genesis, and many more chapters on redemption. God opened the curtain of Heaven to show Moses the true furnishings of Heaven, so that he could build a replica on earth. The tabernacle is built after a God-given pattern, based on what already exists in Heaven. “Let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them. According to all that I show you, the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all of its furniture, even so you shall make it.” (Exodus 25:8-9 WEB) 16 June 2019 - Your Abba Father Loves You - Pastor Joseph Purcell Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed:
Happy Father’s Day! Fathers need and like to be appreciated. Your children are watching and learning from what you do, more than from what you say. As an earthly father, we have the privilege of being a physical manifestation of a father, to show our children the love of our Heavenly Father. Pastor Joseph’s father had intentionally shown affection to his wife in front of Joseph and his siblings. This sets an example for your children, teaching them to show affection to their spouse in the future. Pastor Joseph’s father once gave him a ‘mercy spanking’. As a child, pastor was about to get caned, but his father stopped short of his backside, to demonstrate the Heavenly Father’s love and mercy towards us. But his father only did that once in his life. Your Heavenly Father loves you and has mercy on you — He doesn’t condemn you or punish you for your sins. God can even use our mistakes and turn it around, to teach us about Himself. If you are a father, apologize to your children if you make a mistake towards them. Your job as a father is to demonstrate how the Heavenly Father is like. John 17:6 - The one name of God that Jesus came to reveal to the world, is “Father”. “I revealed your name to the people whom you have given me out of the world. They were yours, and you have given them to me. They have kept your word.” (John 17:6 WEB) Psalms 68:5 - If you are an orphan, God promises that He will be a Father to the fatherless. “A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.” (Psalms 68:5 WEB) 23 September 2018 - The Secret of Unlimited Faith in God - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed: (I missed some songs)
The Grace Revolution is happening all over the world. It’s not something new - it’s something being restored to the church. The gospel is our bread and drink which gives us life. It’s not just a tool to get people saved by. The gospel of grace was first given to the Apostle Paul. It wasn’t given to Pastor Prince, he just rediscovered it. If you believe in anything other than the gospel of grace, you are believing in an anti-Christ doctrine. The spirit of antichrist is working in the church to remove Jesus from the centrality of the church. Jesus is the Bread and the Life, the Alpha and Omega - He is Everything and He is the greatest Gift that God has given to us. If God spared not His own Son, how will He not with Him freely give us all other things? If God holds back provision or healing from you, it’s like God saying that provision and healing are more precious than Jesus. No, when God gave us Jesus, He already gave us provision and healing. At the baptism of Jesus, the heavens opened to Jesus. Today when Jesus is preached, the heavens open to Him. You will never know how much God loves you until you know how much God loves Jesus. It’s important to study the names and titles of Jesus. By knowing Him, we know our place. The greatest knowledge is to know God the Father and Jesus Christ whom the Father has sent. At the cross, all the consequences of sin were placed upon Jesus’ body. When we believe in Jesus, all the consequences of righteousness come upon us as well. Jesus did not deserve the consequences of our sins, and likewise we don’t deserve the consequences of the righteousness that we have received - it is by God’s grace. 29 July 2018 - Grace is the Cure for Bitterness and Sexual Immorality - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed: (I missed out some songs before this)
This world is a hurting world. When Jesus walked on earth, He saw the multitudes as sheep without a shepherd. He had compassion on them. God’s heart is so big compared to ours and He’s so generous. He wants to give, give and give again. He wants our obedience and trust in Him because the benefits are for us. When He tells us to do something, it’s for our good - He can see into our future and help us avert dangers. The Lord is the One who teaches us how to profit. When the children of Israel followed the cloud in the wilderness, they prospered and succeeded in their ways. Lovers don’t yell at each other. They speak softly and lovingly in whispered tones to each other. A soft answer turns away wrath. The Lord speaks to us in a quiet whisper. Elijah encountered God back at Mount Sinai. When Elijah went there, God asked him “Why are you here Elijah?”. Elijah thought that God would thunder down from Sinai in the fire, wind and earthquake, but God was in the still, small voice. God doesn’t discipline us with accidents. Accidents happen due to our own negligence or attacks from the enemy. God disciplines us through His word or through other people who are like us, but worse, so that we despise that same trait that we see in others. Hebrews 12:9-11 - When we submit to God’s discipline, we will live. Fatal car accidents are not God’s discipline because we won’t live. We partake of the Lord’s holiness by identifying ourselves with His holiness. Example: by declaring “The Lord Jesus is my holiness”. “Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.” (Hebrews 12:9-11 NKJV) 18 July 2018 - Encounter Night: If God is for You, What can be Against You - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed:
Psalms 116:12-13 - The best way to thank God for His benefits to you is to take some more from Him. He sees that as a thank-you. “What shall I render to the LORD For all His benefits toward me? I will take up the cup of salvation, And call upon the name of the LORD.” (Psalms 116:12-13 NKJV) Pastor Prince spoke prophetically that there’s a “turnaround” coming in your life - your finances, health, relationships, etc! This is a service of receiving. “Dead spots” in your life will come alive again (examples: parts of your body because of aging, your memory) The Holy Spirit who quickens the dead will do it. When God restores, it’s never the same like it was before - it will be even better. Your memory will be even better than before! There is a grace revolution happening all around the world. The revelations and word being taught from this church are being repeated in other ministries worldwide. When hearing it from other ministries, remember that you first heard it from the "authorized dealer" (Pastor Prince). The Bible says that we are transformed by beholding Jesus. We become like Him not by working or laboring, but by beholding Him. Teaching about Jesus is practical because the revelation of Him will overflow to other areas in your life. For example, the Bible says husbands love your wives like how Jesus loves the church. Having the revelation of the love of Christ in your heart will lead to you showing love to your spouse. The Bible says that we are risen with Christ, so we should act like the precious gold that we are. Not by acting 'high and mighty' or being arrogant, but by exuding the dignity of Christ - we are set apart from the world. Stones are common, but precious gems and metals like gold and diamonds are rare and valuable. 17 June 2018 - The Power in Knowing God as your Father - Pastor Lawrence Lim Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed: (I missed out songs before this)
Last year in September 2017, the Lord spoke to Pastor Joseph Prince to pray for the salvation of North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un. At that time relations between USA and North Korea were very tense. But praise Jesus that just a few days ago, Singapore hosted the Trump-Kim Summit. In just less than a year, relations turned around for good. It’s like a heavenly wink from God. President Donald Trump called Singapore a country of profound grace and beauty. Of all the words he could have said, he said “grace”. A word that we in New Creation Church are so familiar with. Prayer changes everything. You can pray and things will turn around for your good. Just coming to service on Sunday is not enough - We need to be in constant contact with God’s word throughout the week. We also need to be constantly connected through kingdom friendships. John 17:6 - The prayer in John 17 is the longest prayer by Jesus recorded in the Bible. It is called the High Priestly Prayer because He was interceding for us to God. Jesus looked into the future and was interceding for us who would believe in Him. Jesus came to reveal a name of God that was not commonly known to the people. There are many names of God: Elohim (Creator God - it’s a plural name which points to the triune nature of God), Yahweh (Covenant-keeping God), El-Shaddai (Almighty God), and more. Jesus came to reveal the name “Father” (Abba). The name of God as Father was revealed in the Old Testament but it was not commonly used. Examples of places in the Old Testament where God is referred to as Father: Psalm 103 and Isaiah 9. ““I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.” (John 17:6 NKJV) “As a father pities his children, So the LORD pities those who fear Him.” (Psalms 103:13 NKJV) “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6 NKJV) John 17:11-12 - When you know God as Father, there is a protective power made available for you. If you call God “Creator”, you will feel distant from Him. If you call God “Father”, you will feel close and there is an intimacy. Fear is irrational. When we feel fearful, we can run to our Heavenly Father Who is completely fearless. “Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.” (John 17:11-12 NKJV) Psalm 91 is saying that the protection we yearn for is found when we are near to God. We are so close to God - we are in the shadow of the Almighty. 3 June 2018 - Give Jesus your Cares and Live Stress-Free - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed: Peace Be Still - The Belonging Co featuring Lauren Daigle Wonder (Grace Made Real) - New Creation Worship One Thing Remains - Jesus Culture I Exalt Thee - Pete Sanchez Jr. This sermon was originally preached by Pastor Prince at Lakewood Church. Jesus’ grace is attracted to and made perfect in your weaknesses. Grace flows in the worry-free areas of your life. If you can’t discern what God is doing behind the scenes, just look at what the devil is doing. God never plays catch up. The devil plays catch up. What the devil does is visible and palpable. It’s easier to see what he’s doing. When baby Moses was born, the devil instigated Pharaoh to throw all the baby boys into the River Nile. Yet at that time a champion was born. The devil was playing catch up. When Jesus was born, it was a silent night. It was quiet, not loud. The devil instigated King Herod to slaughter all the babies under the age of two. If you were a Hebrew mother at that time, how would you feel? It seemed to be the worst of times, but actually the devil was playing catch up to what God has done. What the devil does manifests really fast. That’s like how Ishmael came from Hagar. Things born of the flesh are temporal. Things born of God may take a longer time to manifest, but they are sure and lasting. That’s like how Isaac came from Sarah after a long wait. 27 May 2018 - The Law of Plunder: No Battle No Spoils - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed: (I missed out the ones before - please let me know if you remember the songs) God You’re So Good - Passion The people who fight for the Law most of the time can’t even memorize the Ten Commandments. We are dead to the Law. It is possible to obey the Commandment not to steal and yet you can remain a miser (stingy). It is possible to obey the Commandment not to commit adultery, and yet you can have a loveless marriage. Grace always empowers one to go further: to be generous and loving. People who have a bondage to pornography will have an unhappy marriage with lots of strife. There will be a lack of sexual satisfaction with the spouse. Pastor Prince shared a testimony about a student who was bound to pornography. He was delivered by regularly declaring that he is the righteousness of God in Christ. Confess it even if you feel like a hypocrite saying it. There is power in the confession. People should sense royalty when you come into a room - not pride or ‘holier than thou’ attitude, but a dignity like Jesus. Numbers 31:25-31 - Eleazar was the High Priest after Aaron. Eleazar was Aaron’s son. Eleazar means “Helper”. To be in touch with the High Priest means touching nearness to God. Today our High Priest is Jesus. Through Him we have nearness to God. The Levites were the assistants to the priests. The priests assisted the High Priest. There are degrees of closeness to God: Jesus had 70 disciples. Out of the 70, there were the 12 disciples who walked closely with Jesus. Out of the 12, there were 3 disciples - Peter, James and John who were in Jesus’ inner circle. Out of the 3, there was 1 - John. The closest to Jesus, who leaned on and listened to the heartbeat of God. The plunder is divided into two parts. Between: 1) Those who went to battle, 2) The congregation (who didn’t go to battle). The Lord gets a tribute as well - similar to the tithing principle. The heave offering (In Hebrew: Terumah) is one of the highest offerings to give to the Lord. It is given to the high priest - the one who is nearest to God. The ones who went to battle give 1 out of every 500 as a tribute to the Lord. The ones who stayed back from battle give 1 out of every 50 as a tribute to the Lord. The ones who went to battle get much more spoils - 10 times more. They are nearer to God. Today our battles are spiritual: we battle/labor by spending time in God’s word to uncover treasures from it. Those who labor in the word will receive much more spoils and nearness to God than those who just use the sermons from others who spent time to meditate on God’s word. We can also go to battle by serving the Lord despite all the attacks from the enemy. Those who didn’t go to battle pay their tributes to the Levites. The offering doesn’t go higher. “Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: “Count up the plunder that was taken—of man and beast—you and Eleazar the priest and the chief fathers of the congregation; and divide the plunder into two parts, between those who took part in the war, who went out to battle, and all the congregation. And levy a tribute for the LORD on the men of war who went out to battle: one of every five hundred of the persons, the cattle, the donkeys, and the sheep; take it from their half, and give it to Eleazar the priest as a heave offering to the LORD. And from the children of Israel’s half you shall take one of every fifty, drawn from the persons, the cattle, the donkeys, and the sheep, from all the livestock, and give them to the Levites who keep charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.” So Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.” (Numbers 31:25-31 NKJV) |
