8 October 2017 - Dare to Live for the Glory of God - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online1200 souls were saved at Holy Spirit Night Conference in Germany where Pastor Prince preached at! It’s important for us to know our Church history: Martin Luther was a German monk of the Augustinian Order. He knew the Hebrew language. He saw that people were putting money into the church coffers to provide relief for their loved ones who were in purgatory - That didn’t seem right to him because they didn’t have to repent, but the money could do the repenting for them. Martin Luther nailed the 95 Theses on the door of the church. People circulated it by print and others labeled him as a heretic and wanted to kill him. There was a bounty on his head. A wealthy person kidnapped Martin Luther and kept him safe in a castle for 10 months. He translated the German Bible while he was there. In 1517, the Reformation started by his books circulated in print, not by him running around ragged. Now our equivalent of nailing an argument on the church door is posting on social media. We should use social media for the glory of Jesus, and not just sit back and let the devil do his thing.
Martin Luther felt trapped as there was no way he could confess all his individual sins and be free from sin. He felt that he would surely be damned to hell.
He found out that the word repentance in Greek “metanoia” doesn’t mean right doing (the church at that time believed in penance), but a change of mind - Not hands, but heart. A good man doesn’t do good works to earn or prove anything. He does good works because that’s who he is. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit. Martin Luther believed that he was visited by Satan himself in the room of the castle he was hiding in. Satan taunted him saying: “Who do you think you are that you should be wiser than others?”
To the young people: You are a prince or princess in Christ. When you set your destiny and goal in life, make sure you’re doing it for the Lord’s glory. Stop thinking you have many years to go and you can afford to waste your time and try this and that without really thinking about your life. That’s an immature way to think. Don’t just try to fit in and be like others, afraid to stand out. Dare to be different! Jesus’ disciples were all young when He was on earth. Jesus was young too. (Art by Akiane Kramarik)
