Outer Space and the Truth about Aliens from the Bible - The Second Expanse of the Heavens

“The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And the expanse [of heaven] is declaring the work of His hands.” (PSALM 19:1 AMP)

God’s creation is filled with lessons that we can learn about Jesus.
After all, God’s word says that everything was created through Him and for Him. 

“For by Him all things were created in heaven and on earth, [things] visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [that is, by His activity] and for Him.”(COLOSSIANS 1:16 AMP)

The celestial bodies in the sky are no exception to this principle. 

The Sun represents Jesus.
The Earth’s Moon represents us.
The Earth represents the world (both believers and non believers).
The stars represent God’s holy angels.

“God made the two great lights--the greater light (the sun) to rule the day, and the lesser light (the moon) to rule the night; He made the [galaxies of] stars also [that is, all the amazing wonders in the heavens]. God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to provide light upon the earth, to rule over the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good and He affirmed and sustained it.” (GENESIS 1:16-18 AMP)

Like the sun, Jesus is the Greater Ruler. He rules over all creation.
Like the moon, we (man) were created as the lesser rulers. Man was given the rulership of the earth. 

The moon ruling over the night represents us (man) whose rulership led to darkness because of Adam’s sin.
The sun ruling over the day represents Jesus whose rulership led to light because of Jesus’ everlasting victory at the cross which redeemed man and the whole earth to the glory of God. 
 
Jesus is the Source of life just like the sun is the source of light in the world.

“And He Himself existed and is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. [His is the controlling, cohesive force of the universe.] He is also the head [the life-source and leader] of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will occupy the first place [He will stand supreme and be preeminent] in everything.” (COLOSSIANS 1:17-18 AMP)

Like the moon which doesn’t give out light of its own but only reflects light from the sun, we too can’t do anything without the life of Jesus flowing in us.

“If even the moon does not shine, And the stars are not pure in His sight,” (Job 25:5NKJV)

“I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.” (JOHN 15:5 AMP)

God’s creation is filled with lessons that we can learn about Jesus. After all, God’s word says that everything was created through Him and for Him. The celestial bodies in Outer Space are no exception to this principle.

Like the moon, we reflect who we face

When our eyes are focused on Jesus, we effectively become the light of the world. 
We reflect Jesus’ glorious light and the world sees it and is lit up too. 
They experience the spillover benefits of Jesus’ glory upon us. 

““You are the light of [Christ to] the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and [recognize and honor and] glorify your Father who is in heaven.” (MATTHEW 5:14-16 AMP)

The uncountable multitudes of stars in the sky represents the fact that angelic activity is taking place all the time around us, and the fact that there are so many angels under God’s command. 

“Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and [the voice] of the living creatures and the elders; and they numbered myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands (innumerable), saying in a loud voice, “Worthy and deserving is the Lamb that was sacrificed to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing.”” (REVELATION 5:11-12 AMP)

We are surrounded by these ministering spirits who obey and carry out God’s instructions.

“Are not all the angels ministering spirits sent out [by God] to serve (accompany, protect) those who will inherit salvation? [Of course they are!]” (HEBREWS 1:14AMP)

They are also watching the story of God’s salvation plan unfolding with each passing moment. 

The stars sing, just like how the angels are always singing the praises of God, declaring His glory. 

“When the morning stars sang together And all the sons of God (angels) shouted for joy?” (JOB 38:7 AMP)

The stars give off their own light too, representing the supernatural nature of the angels.

​The Truth about Alien Sightings

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12 NKJV)

Most people have heard about aliens and these creatures are accepted as part of popular culture nowadays. 

Even kids books and cartoons portray them as beings from outer space that we can become friends with. 

If we believers knew the truth about aliens and who they really are, we wouldn’t be exposing them to our kids and letting them think it’s okay. 

In the verse above, we see a hierarchy of demons: probably principalities being the highest and spiritual hosts of wickedness being the lowest. 

Notice that they are in the “heavenly places”? This doesn’t mean that they are in heaven. 

In fact, demons have no access to heaven today. 

“And she gave birth to a Son, a male Child, who is destined to rule (shepherd) all the nations with a rod of iron; and her Child was caught up to God and to His throne... And war broke out in heaven, Michael [the archangel] and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels fought, but they were not strong enough and did not prevail, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, the age-old serpent who is called the devil and Satan, he who continually deceives and seduces the entire inhabited world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom (dominion, reign) of our God, and the authority of His Christ have come; for the accuser of our [believing] brothers and sisters has been thrown down [at last], he who accuses them and keeps bringing charges [of sinful behavior] against them before our God day and night.” (REVELATION 12:5, 7-10 AMP)

The timeline of the passage above happening is after Jesus’ death, resurrection and ascension. 
The male Child being caught up to God represents Jesus’ ascension. 

The devil and his demons used to have access to a place in heaven because Adam’s rulership rights of the earth were given to Satan. 

We see in the Book of Job that Satan appeared before God in heaven and that was because as the new federal head of the earth, he had access to Adam’s spot:

“Now there was a day when the sons of God (angels) came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan (adversary, accuser) also came among them. The LORD said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Then Satan answered the LORD, “From roaming around on the earth and from walking around on it.”” (JOB1:6-7 AMP)

By dying on the cross, Jesus had already righteously paid for the sins of the world and had redeemed the whole earth back from Satan.

Satan and his demons tried to protest and fight to maintain their position in heaven but they were permanently evicted and thrown down. 

So now that we have established that demons have no access to heaven today, then what does the passage of the day mean by “heavenly places”? 

In the Greek, “heavenly places” is “epouraniois”. 
Besides meaning heaven, it can also refer to the sky where the sun, moon and stars are. 
We see this in the following passage:

“There are also heavenly bodies [sun, moon and stars] and earthly bodies [humans, animals, and plants], but the glory and beauty of the heavenly is one kind, and the glory of the earthly is another. There is a glory and beauty of the sun, another glory of the moon, and yet another [distinctive] glory of the stars; and one star differs from another in glory and brilliance.” (1 CORINTHIANS 15:40-41 AMP)

The word “heavenly” (in other translations it says “celestial”) in Greek is also epouraniois and is used to describe the sun, moon and stars in the sky. 

Again we see the demons written to be in the epouraniois “heavenly places”: 

“and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.” (Ephesians 3:9-12NKJV)

When the Apostle Paul wrote this, it was already after Satan and his demons had been permanently cast out of heaven, so they don’t have access to there anymore. 

So I believe that today demons have access to both earth and the “heavenly places”: the sky.

So those strange apparitions in the night sky, unknown flying object (UFO) and alien sightings are probably real.

But they aren’t aliens, and they aren’t friendly. They are demons, and they hate humans. 

Maybe it’s wise to gradually reduce the interest that your child has in aliens by limiting exposure to such material because we don’t want them to try to make contact and end up experiencing demonic oppression or possesion.
