27 December 2020 - How to Have Many Beautiful Days - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPastor Joseph Prince taught that if you want to see many beautiful days in the coming year 2021, you will have to learn this truth hidden in the names of characters and places in Acts 9. Do this frequently and you will enjoy God’s anointing working powerfully in your life! Praise and Worship songs performed: 1. Great is Thy Faithfulness 2. Living Hope - Bethel Music 3. I See Grace - New Creation Worship 4. Great is the Lord - Steve McEwan God is going to do good things for God’s people this coming year. The world will get darker and darker, but the church will shine brighter. The path of the righteous shines brighter and brighter. The theme of the year is primarily for God’s church. It is about what He will do for His people, not the world at large in general. 2 Corinthians 12:2 - Spiritually speaking, we are in the third heaven, seated with Christ in the heavenly places. We are in Christ. “I know a man in Christ, fourteen years ago (whether in the body, I don’t know, or whether out of the body, I don’t know; God knows), such a one caught up into the third heaven.” (2 Corinthians 12:2 WEB) Deuteronomy 28:1-2 - We (spiritual Israel) are positioned high above all nations. Position before blessings. “It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to Yahweh your God’s voice, to observe to do all his commandments which I command you today, that Yahweh your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. All these blessings will come upon you, and overtake you, if you listen to Yahweh your God’s voice.” (Deuteronomy 28:1-2 WEB) Philippians 4:19 - God supplies all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. According means all and not just “out of”. “My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 WEB) Ephesians 1:3, 6-7 - We have already been blessed with every type of blessing! This is thanks to Jesus’ blood that was shed for our forgiveness of sins. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ;...to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he freely gave us favor in the Beloved, in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,” (Ephesians 1:3, 6-7 WEB) Acts 9:36-37 - Stay in that heavenly spirit realm. The upper chamber is where miracles happen and God’s power is released. Like the upper (third) chamber in the side chamber of Solomon’s temple which is the treasury room. It is filled with gold, silver and the tithes. It doesn’t just represent a place of natural provision, but also spiritual gifts, wisdom and anointing. Tabitha means “gazelle”. Strong’s concordance says that the “upper room” means an apartment on the third storey. Joppa means “beautiful”. God placed man in the Garden of Eden, in a place of beauty. But death came in because Adam sinned. The Christian posture is not to look to death but to look forward to the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This passage will show you how to have beautiful days this coming year. Tabitha is a picture of the church. Many times when a woman is a type, she represents the church. “Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which when translated, means Dorcas. This woman was full of good works and acts of mercy which she did. In those days, she became sick, and died. When they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room.” (Acts 9:36-37 WEB) Acts 28:1 - “Malta” means “honey”, which is a picture of “the land of milk and honey”—the promised land. Those who listened to Paul ended up in Malta. It is a picture of Christendom. “When we had escaped, then they learned that the island was called Malta.” (Acts 28:1 WEB) The Bible is full of types which represent something. For example, Joseph is a type of Christ. Boaz is a type of Jesus Christ, Ruth is type of the church, and Naomi is a type of Israel. Acts 20:7-8 - The church came together on a Sunday (first day of the week) to break bread. The Holy Communion was of foremost importance. In a place where many believers are gathered, there are many “lights”—every believer is a glorious, shining light. “On the first day of the week, when the disciples were gathered together to break bread, Paul talked with them, intending to depart on the next day, and continued his speech until midnight. There were many lights in the upper room where we were gathered together.” (Acts 20:7-8 WEB) Jesus’ words go beyond the four Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The words were not in red originally. Paul’s letters are also inspired and he received his revelation directly from Jesus. Acts 20:9-12 - The Holy Communion is the biggest priority in the gathering of believers. Instead of just calling it a day after resurrecting the young man, Paul continued to break bread, and then taught the believers until daybreak. “A certain young man named Eutychus sat in the window, weighed down with deep sleep. As Paul spoke still longer, being weighed down by his sleep, he fell down from the third floor, and was taken up dead. Paul went down, and fell upon him, and embracing him said, “Don’t be troubled, for his life is in him.” When he had gone up, and had broken bread, and eaten, and had talked with them a long while, even until break of day, he departed. They brought the boy in alive, and were greatly comforted.” (Acts 20:9-12 WEB) 2 Timothy 3:12 - You will suffer persecution as a believer for Jesus’ name’s sake, but you won’t suffer what Jesus suffered at the cross. He bore your sicknesses and pains. He carried your sins and was smitten by God. Jesus already took all that upon Himself so that you wouldn’t have to. “Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.” (2 Timothy 3:12 WEB) 2 Corinthians 8:9 - You are blessed to be a blessing, not to be full of avarice. You can afford to be generous because you have become rich through what Jesus did at the cross. “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might become rich.” (2 Corinthians 8:9 WEB)

24 December 2020 - Jesus’ Legal Claim to the Throne of David - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPastor Joseph Prince taught that Jesus, the prophesied "woman's seed", has a double claim to the throne of David through Mary and Joseph. A legal claim through Mary, and a regal claim through Joseph. Praise and Worship songs performed: 1. Joy to the World 2. Angels We Have Heard on High 3. O Come, All Ye Faithful 4. O Holy Night 5. Ding Dong Merrily on High 6. For All That You Done 7. First Christmas (The Meaning of it All) - Decibel Worship and Michael Davis As a child, Jesus was born. As a Son, He was given. Jesus became our kinsman redeemer, like how Boaz became Ruth’s kinsman redeemer by marrying her and taking care of her. Boaz was willing, wealthy (able) and a relative (of Naomi)—these are the qualifications a kinsman redeemer must have. In order for Jesus to redeem us, He had to become like one of us—a man. Luke 4:18 - Jesus went about doing these, in obedience to the Father’s will. ““The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed,” (Luke 4:18 WEB) Death was never God’s will for man. He wants us to be part of His family and enjoy eternal life with Him. Death came in because Adam sinned. The whole earth fell with Him. Adam was appointed as the ruler of the earth and when he fell, his whole kingdom fell with him. Adam bowed his knee to Satan, an outlaw spirit, and committed high treason against God. Matthew 2:2 - In the Old Testament, the first question asked after man fell was “Where are you Adam?” In the New Testament, the first question asked is, “Where is He who is born the King of the Jews?” That is because Jesus is the solution to man’s fall. ““Where is he who is born King of the Jews? For we saw his star in the east, and have come to worship him.”” (Matthew 2:2 WEB) Genesis 3:15 - The woman’s “offspring” is in the singular tense. It is referring to Jesus who would defeat the devil. The word offspring can also be translated as “seed”. A woman does not have seed, so it is a prophecy about the virgin birth. “I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel.”” (Genesis 3:15 WEB) Isaiah 7:14 - The virgin would conceive and bear a son—this is a sign to identify the prophesied woman’s seed. “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin will conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14 WEB) Matthew 1:20-23 - Why the necessity for a virgin birth? God the Father sent His Son into Mary’s womb and she conceived Him. Mary had sin in her blood, so how is it possible that Jesus was born sinless? Today we know though scientific study that the mother’s placenta does not give blood to the baby in the mother’s womb. The placenta only brings food, nutrients and oxygen from the mother’s bloodstream to the baby, and removes waste and carbon dioxide away from the baby. Jesus has blood, but it is His own divine, precious blood. “But when he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, don’t be afraid to take to yourself Mary, your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. She shall give birth to a son. You shall call his name Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins.” Now all this has happened, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall give birth to a son. They shall call his name Immanuel”; which is, being interpreted, “God with us.”” (Matthew 1:20-23 WEB) Why did God make the tree of the knowledge of good and evil? It is because God did not want to create robots. He wants man to choose to obey and love Him out of man’s free will. God planted that tree there for a real opportunity for man to exercise his free choice. Look at the abundance of goodness that God gave to Adam. Adam could have freely eaten from every tree in the garden except for that one tree. Leviticus 17:11 - It is blood that makes atonement for sin because a being’s life is in the blood. “For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that makes atonement by reason of the life.” (Leviticus 17:11 WEB) 13 December 2020 - Have a Good Opinion of God - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPastor Joseph Prince taught that faith is having a good opinion of God. When we count Him faithful to fulfill His promises, we can say “Amen” to them and receive the manifestation of these promises in our lives! Praise and Worship songs performed: 1. Mary’s Boy Child 2. No Other Name - Hillsong Music 3. Here - New Creation Worship 4. I Sing Praises - Terry MacAlmon 5. Paid it All - Michael Davis Many benefits will accrue to us when we receive God’s word. The part of us that is born again is our spirit. Our soul (mind, will and emotions) is still being progressively saved and renewed. Our bodies as well. 1 Peter 1:23 - Our spirit is reborn of incorruptible seed. “having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which lives and remains forever.” (1 Peter 1:23 WEB) James 1:21 - This is written to believers. Even for believers, your souls (mind, will and emotions) need saving. “Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.” (James 1:21 WEB) Proverbs 4:22 - God’s word is medicine to all your flesh. God’s word has no negative side effects. Take as much as you want. Be a word addict! “For they are life to those who find them, and health to their whole body.” (Proverbs 4:22 WEB) Hebrews 11:6 - Since it is impossible to please God without faith, it is incumbent on us to learn how to walk by faith. “Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6 WEB) Ephesian 2:8 - Faith is the currency of Heaven. Faith is like a bird. The more you focus on your need for faith and chase it, it seems to fly away. But when you focus on Jesus, faith comes. “for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,” (Ephesians 2:8 WEB) Hebrews 11:1 - Faith is having a good opinion of God. “Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1 WEB) Acts 20:21 - God is not angry or out to get you. He welcomes you into His embrace, like the father of the prodigal son. That is the first area we have to repent of. “testifying both to Jews and to Greeks repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus.” (Acts 20:21 WEB) Romans 8:32 - God is for you, not against you. He always has your greatest good in His heart. “He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32 WEB) Hebrews 11:11 - Count God faithful to keep His promises. Even when the physical evidence was against Sarah, she still judged God faithful. You don’t have to conjure up faith. Just rest in God’s faithfulness. We are branches that rest in the Vine and receive the supply to bear good fruits. “By faith, even Sarah herself received power to conceive, and she bore a child when she was past age, since she counted him faithful who had promised.” (Hebrews 11:11 WEB) Genesis 42:36 - The things were working together for Jacob’s good. Not against him. Joseph wanted to bring his father to the land of Goshen (meaning: to draw close). “Jacob, their father, said to them, “You have bereaved me of my children! Joseph is no more, Simeon is no more, and you want to take Benjamin away. All these things are against me.”” (Genesis 42:36 WEB) 6 December 2020 - How to Walk by the Spirit - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPastor Joseph Prince taught us how to walk by the Spirit to overcome every sinful habit, to profit in all things and even operate powerfully in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Praise and Worship songs performed: 1. Come Let Us Adore Him 2. Come All Ye Faithful 3. Because of Your Love - New Creation Worship 4. Nothing But the Blood of Jesus Galatians 5:4 - When you try to be justified by the works of the Law, you fall from Grace. “You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace.” (Galatians 5:4 WEB) Galatians 5:16-18 - We are not under the Law, so that we can now be under Christ. Not being under the Law doesn’t make you lawless. It means you are led by the Holy Spirit. The glory of God can shine out of you and show the reality of Christ to the people around you. Just walk by the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. The more you focus on not fulfilling the lusts of the flesh, you are putting yourself under the Law and you will be powerless to break free from sinful habits. Walk by the Spirit—be led by Him, and your sinful addictions will be broken. When the Spirit leads you, He deals with the root of your problem and not just the branches. The way of man is to attack the problem head on by using willpower, but the Holy Spirit leads you in a circuitous way to solve that problem permanently. God does not drive His flock—He leads His flock. Anything that pushes or drives you is not God. Be careful when you get into things like the stock market. You must be restful, and not become a slave to the stock market. Pastors and parents should also lead the one they are stewarding and not drive them. “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.” (Galatians 5:16-18 WEB) Psalm 23:3 - The word “paths” in Hebrew is “magal” which means “a circuitous path”. We are following the Holy Spirit one step at a time. The shepherd leads the sheep in circuitous paths and the flock eats the shoots and grass that are along the way. “He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” (Psalms 23:3 WEB) In the side chamber of the temple of Solomon, there is a winding staircase that links the three levels of the chamber. A winding staircase is the fastest way to reach maximum height. As we go about our lives this year, we are actually ascending higher, making progress. Jesus said, “Take My yoke upon you.” A stronger, more mature cow is usually yoked to an inexperienced, younger cow. The younger cow must follow the older cow, if not he will be dragged when the older cow turns, and get a stiff neck. Jesus’ yoke is gentle. He will not hurt you. He leads you patiently and gently. John 10:27 - We who are believers certainly hear Jesus’ voice. You don’t have to learn how to hear His voice because that would be an abnormality. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27 WEB) 29 November 2020 - How to Live Holy Under Grace - New Creation Church Sermon Notes - Pastor Lawrence LimPastor Lawrence Lim taught us how to live in true holiness through Grace which produces heart transformation and not just behavior modification through the works of the Law. If you want to live above sin and reign in life, this is a great sermon to meditate on. Praise and Worship songs performed: 1. Give Me This Mountain - New Creation Worship 2. Blessed Assurance - Fanny Crosby and Phoebe Knapp 3. Shout to the Lord - Darlene Zschech 4. O Come O Come Emmanuel - John Mason Neale Matthew 7:11 - We have a good Heavenly Father who gives us good gifts. “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:11 WEB) 1 Corinthians 15:3 - The forgiveness of our sins is the greatest blessing we have received. You have been delivered from the penalty of sin. “For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,” (1 Corinthians 15:3 WEB) Ephesians 1:7 - “According”, not just “out of”—God has forgiven us so graciously. “in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,” (Ephesians 1:7 WEB) Romans 1:16-17 - Gospel means “good news”. We need to pay attention to the good news of Jesus Christ and not the bad news in the world. The Gospel doesn’t just save you from Hell—it also brings you protection, preservation and provision. It is when we receive and believe the Gospel that we experience the power of God for salvation. “For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, for it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes; for the Jew first, and also for the Greek. For in it is revealed God’s righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, “But the righteous shall live by faith.”” (Romans 1:16-17 WEB) Sin carries a penalty. The Bible says that the soul that sins must die. Our God is holy—He must judge sinful man for sins. This created universe is established upon justice and righteousness. Jesus took our sins upon Himself and was fully punished for them at the cross. God initiated this so that He would not have to punish us. Romans 4:5-8 - Our righteousness comes apart from works. It was received by faith. God shall not impute sin to you because He imputed it to Jesus. “But to him who doesn’t work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness. Even as David also pronounces blessing on the man to whom God counts righteousness apart from works, “Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whom the Lord will by no means charge with sin.”” (Romans 4:5-8 WEB) 1 Corinthians 1:30 - The grace of God upon our lives empowers us to live with moral excellence and character success. God wants us to live lives that glorify Him. Only the Gospel of Grace leads you to true holiness—transformation from the heart. Sin is never okay. Pastor Joseph Prince and New Creation Church believe in holiness and living lives that glorify God. “Because of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:” (1 Corinthians 1:30 WEB) If you want to know a trustworthiness of a ministry, look at its results. You can read all the testimonies shared on Pastor Prince’s website. A tree will be known by its fruits. Romans 6:14 - Have hope in your heart that your sinful habit will not remain. You are under Grace, so sin will not have dominion over you. “For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.” (Romans 6:14 WEB) 2 Peter 2:7-8 - Compare Abraham and Lot. Both were called righteous men, but Lot compromised. He lived in Sodom which was subsequently destroyed by God. Abraham cultivated a relationship with God. He built altars and tithed, but there is no record of Lot ever doing so. Lot was blessed. He had huge flocks and herds. Lot left Abraham—a picture of leaving the Gospel of righteousness by faith. Lot was tormented in his soul when he saw and heard all the lawless deeds done in Sodom, but he never left the city—he compromised. “and delivered righteous Lot, who was very distressed by the lustful life of the wicked (for that righteous man dwelling among them, was tormented in his righteous soul from day to day with seeing and hearing lawless deeds):” (2 Peter 2:7-8 WEB) 1 Peter 1:15-16 - We are all for holiness, but how can we be holy in our behavior? “but just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior; because it is written, “You shall be holy; for I am holy.”” (1 Peter 1:15-16 WEB) 1 Peter 1:13-14 - Rest your hope fully on the Grace of God. Doing that is to be obedient children. When you know and believe that you have been forgiven and that you have a new identity in Christ, you can live a holy life. “Therefore prepare your minds for action, be sober, and set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ— as children of obedience, not conforming yourselves according to your former lusts as in your ignorance,” (1 Peter 1:13-14 WEB) 22 November 2020 - What “Falling From Grace” Really Means - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPastor Joseph Prince taught us what it means to "fall from Grace". It is not falling into sin as many people think. When you fall from Grace, Christ becomes of no effect to you, and you cannot even receive a trickle of God's favor. Understanding this truth will set you free to bear much good fruit in your life! Praise and Worship songs performed: 1. Anthem of Grace - New Creation Worship 2. With All I Am - Hillsong Worship 3. You’re My Glory - Terry MacAlmon 3 John 1:2 - This is God’s will for us. “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers.” (3 John 1:2 WEB) Galatians 4:30-5:1 - The old system of the Law has been cast out, so we can stand fully in Grace. We can only live in a truly holy way when we live by Grace. “However what does the Scripture say? “Throw out the servant and her son, for the son of the servant will not inherit with the son of the free woman.” So then, brothers, we are not children of a servant, but of the free woman. Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1 WEB) Galatians 5:4 - Christ becomes of no effect to you when you try to be justified by the Law. It is not people who sin that fall from Grace. It is those who have been saved by Grace and then try to be justified by the Law. These people think they have to go through the Law first in order to reach Christ. The multitudes touched Jesus and received healing. They were sinning and could still be healed. It is not sin that stops you from receiving God’s power—it is those who try to become righteous through the Law that could not receive from Jesus. The word “alienated” is the same word as is translated as “destroy” in Hebrews 2:14. The devil’s power to inflict death has been totally removed from him. When you are alienated from Christ, you cannot receive even a trickle of God’s power in your life, even though it is always flowing towards you. GRACE: God’s Riches at Christ’s Expense. You cannot take credit for any part of your salvation. Your role is to be a beneficiary and depository of God’s blessings. Long before someone falls into sin, he has fallen into Grace. Before the Law was given, the children of Israel did not build a golden calf and there was no temptation to do so. But once the Law was given at Mount Sinai, they built a golden calf. “You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace.” (Galatians 5:4 WEB) Luke 11:46 - Your sins are not what is blocking your healing, provision, or whatever breakthrough you need. Man-made religion teaches that if there is some sin in your life, you cannot receive from God. “He said, “Woe to you lawyers also! For you load men with burdens that are difficult to carry, and you yourselves won’t even lift one finger to help carry those burdens.” (Luke 11:46 WEB) Isaiah 26:3 - When Christ is effective for you, you receive His shalom—perfect peace. “You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you.” (Isaiah 26:3 WEB) John 15:5 - Branches do not struggle to bear fruit. When the branch is not constricted, the sap flows freely, producing the fruitfulness to bear fruit. It is your struggling that prevents you from receiving God’s power. When you rest in Christ, God’s power flows freely through you. “I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5 WEB) 2 Peter 3:18 - Grace is your fertile soil to grow in. “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:18 WEB) 15 November 2020 - The Benjamin Generation Receives Five Times More - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPastor Joseph Prince taught that Benjamin was first introduced when the earth was going through a worldwide famine, just like it is today because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Just as Benjamin received five times more food, clothing and provision than his brother, our generation is about to receive more outpouring of supply from God than all previous generations of believers! Amos 3:3 - We need to be in sync with God’s plans and purposes. God does things for the good of His church and for Israel. “Do two walk together, unless they have agreed?” (Amos 3:3 WEB) Our foundation needs to be on what is unshakable—Jesus and God’s word. Proverbs 4:18 - Your days ahead can only get brighter and brighter. “But the path of the righteous is like the dawning light, that shines more and more until the perfect day.” (Proverbs 4:18 WEB) Galatians 1:6 - Jewish advocates of the Law were telling the Galatian believers that after being saved by Grace they needed to keep the whole Law and be circumcised. This is ‘another gospel’—a false one. “I marvel that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ to a different “good news”;” (Galatians 1:6 WEB) 1 Corinthians 10:11 - What happened to the Jews in the Old Testament are types for us to learn from today. “Now all these things happened to them by way of example, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come.” (1 Corinthians 10:11 WEB) Luke 24:27 - The Old Testament contains shadows and types which point to the substance and realities in the New Testament. We have to see Christ in the Old Testament. It is more important to see Jesus in the Scriptures than in person—this gives us all the same opportunity to see Him today, in God’s word. “Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.” (Luke 24:27 WEB) Galatians 4:21-31 - Ishmael was born by human effort and Isaac was born by God’s promise. Even people in the Bible are types which point us to Jesus. We are born again supernaturally by the Spirit. It is by God’s promise, not by our human effort. Those who advocate the Law persecute those who live by Grace. The attempt to keep the Law stirs up the sinful passions of the flesh. The flesh profits nothing. When we were born-again, we became sons. We have the spirit of sonship. Do not go back to that spirit of slavish fear which was under the Law. Those who live by the Law have Hagar as their mother, while those who live by Grace have Sarah as their mother. Like Isaac and Ishmael, we have the same Heavenly Father, but not the same mother. Law and Grace cannot be mixed. The new wine will cause an old wine skin to burst. We need to completely cast out the old system of the Law of Moses and live by Grace alone. “Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, don’t you listen to the law? For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the servant, and one by the free woman. However, the son by the servant was born according to the flesh, but the son by the free woman was born through promise. These things contain an allegory, for these are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai, bearing children to bondage, which is Hagar. For this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and answers to the Jerusalem that exists now, for she is in bondage with her children. But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is the mother of us all. For it is written, “Rejoice, you barren who don’t bear. Break out and shout, you that don’t travail. For more are the children of the desolate than of her who has a husband.” Now we, brothers, as Isaac was, are children of promise. But as then, he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now. However what does the Scripture say? “Throw out the servant and her son, for the son of the servant will not inherit with the son of the free woman.” So then, brothers, we are not children of a servant, but of the free woman.” (Galatians 4:21-31 WEB) Hebrew 12:18-22 - It not about doing things to be saved, but to rest in Jesus’ finished work. It is done. God has moved mountains—from Sinai to Zion. Preachers must move their pulpits from Sinai to Zion. “For you have not come to a mountain that might be touched, and that burned with fire, and to blackness, darkness, storm, the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which those who heard it begged that not one more word should be spoken to them, for they could not stand that which was commanded, “If even an animal touches the mountain, it shall be stoned”; and so fearful was the appearance that Moses said, “I am terrified and trembling.” But you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable multitudes of angels,” (Hebrews 12:18-22 WEB) Hebrews 5:13 - Those who are babies think that righteousness is about action—doing to become righteous. Those who are mature know that righteousness is a gift. “For everyone who lives on milk is not experienced in the word of righteousness, for he is a baby. But solid food is for those who are full grown, who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern good and evil.” (Hebrews 5:13-14 WEB) Genesis 21:8-10 - We cannot inherit by human effort—only by grace through faith. Sarah’s words became Scripture. “The child grew, and was weaned. Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned. Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, mocking. Therefore she said to Abraham, “Cast out this servant and her son! For the son of this servant will not be heir with my son, Isaac.”” (Genesis 21:8-10 WEB) Jeremiah 3:19 - Call God “Abba” and you will inherit your possessions in Christ. It is by the spirit of sonship. ““But I said, ‘How I desire to put you among the children, and give you a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the armies of the nations!’ and I said, ‘You shall call me “My Father”, and shall not turn away from following me.’” (Jeremiah 3:19 WEB) 8 November 2020 - Receive your Inheritance by Grace Alone - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPastor Joseph Prince taught that through the Law of Moses, we cannot inherit what Christ purchased for us at the cross. We can only receive it by Grace through faith. Through the Holy Spirit in you, arise to the spirit of sonship, for you are no longer a slave to sin! Praise and worship songs performed: 1. Here is Love - Robert Lowry 2. I Will Come and Bow Down - Ron Kenoly 3. The One Thing - New Creation Worship Galatians 3:5 - The word translated as “supplies” below is in the present continuous tense. God is constantly supplying the Spirit and doing miracles. Receive miracles through hearing of faith, not by the works of the Law. “He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you, and does miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?” (Galatians 3:5 WEB) Luke 24:47 - Jerusalem is the guiltiest city for it rejected and crucified Jesus Christ. The Gospel began spreading from there—this is God’s Grace. Where sin abounded, Grace super-abounds! “and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” (Luke 24:47 WEB) God ordained for the Romans to be in power during Jesus’ time on earth. The Romans built good roads. It was on these roads that the Apostle Paul embarked on his missionary journeys. The Greek language was the most widely used language in the world during Jesus’ time. Greek is the most exact and precise language. Example: for one word in English, love, Greek has many words to differentiate the type of love: phileo (brotherly love between friends), agape (the God kind of love), eros (sexual and romantic love). Matthew 24:38 - The devil caused the COVID-19 pandemic, but God allowed it, causing the Gospel to go forth further than ever before, online. Souls are being saved at a greater rate than before the pandemic. Physical church gatherings will eventually resume. Before the coming of the Lord, life will be back to normal, with no pandemic. “For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ship,” (Matthew 24:38 WEB) Galatians 4:6-7 - We are not bondservants under the Law. We are sons (in Greek: huios) and therefore heirs of God through Christ. Israel was under the Law which is the fundamental principles—like ABCs. Now under Grace, we are full-grown adult sons. When the son of the boss of a company goes to the office, he works with a different spirit. If an office worker forgets to switch off the air-con, the son checks and turns it off. He has a personal stake in it because he is going to be the heir. When we live with a spirit of sonship, we will work more excellently. The Holy Spirit in our hearts teaches us to see God as our Father, producing the appropriate affections in our hearts. “And because you are children, God sent out the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!” So you are no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” (Galatians 4:6-7 WEB) Romans 8:14-16 - God is most pleased when you approach Him as “Father”. You don’t have fear Him or feel distant from Him. Own the spirit of sonship. The “fear of the Lord” is not slavish fear as if you are a slave. It is having a reverential, worshipful awe towards God. We sense the leading of the Holy Spirit through this spirit of sonship. The Spirit will never lead you to break the Ten Commandments. In fact, He will lead you to exceed its requirements. Instead of being stingy, you will be generous. Instead of having a loveless marriage, you will love your wife the way Christ loves His church. The Holy Spirit guides you as you get moving—take a step of faith. It is hard to guide a parked car. The Holy Spirit leads you from within. You will know when to do something, and when not to. If you don’t do something He leads you to do, you will feel an inward frustration. After you do it, you will sense the peace within. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God. For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God;” (Romans 8:14-16 WEB) James 2:10 - The Law is a composite whole. If you break one commandment out of the Ten Commandments, you are counted as having broken them all. It is like a pearl necklace. When one part of the string breaks, all the pearls fall out. “For whoever keeps the whole law, and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.” (James 2:10 WEB) No one can love God with all their heart, soul, strength and mind. Only God does that towards us—He proved it by sending Jesus to die for us. We must know that He loves us, so that we can love one another. The Old Testament is the new concealed. The New Testament is the old revealed. When you read the Law, let the Holy Spirit reveal Jesus to you from within. Romans 10:4 - Jesus already fulfilled the Law on our behalf. “For Christ is the fulfillment of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.” (Romans 10:4 WEB) Matthew 5:17-18 - Jesus didn’t destroy the Law—He already fulfilled it through His finished work at the cross. ““Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill. For most certainly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not even one smallest letter or one tiny pen stroke shall in any way pass away from the law, until all things are accomplished.” (Matthew 5:17-18 WEB) 1 November 2020 - Heirs of the World Through Faith - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPastor Joseph Prince taught us how to walk in the blessings of being heirs of the world through faith, apart from the works of the Law. It is time to live with a spirit of sonship instead of a fearful, servile mentality of a slave! Praise and worship songs performed: 1. 10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord) 2. Wonderful (Grace Made Real) - New Creation Wordhip Joshua 14:11-14 - Caleb had faith in God’s promises. Even when he was eighty five years old, he was as strong as he was four decades ago. “As yet I am as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me. As my strength was then, even so is my strength now for war, to go out and to come in. Now therefore give me this hill country, of which Yahweh spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and great and fortified cities. It may be that Yahweh will be with me, and I shall drive them out, as Yahweh said.”” (Joshua 14:11-12 WEB) Yesterday was Reformation Day—a celebration of the reintroduction of the Gospel of Grace. Martin Luther used the words “the righteous by faith will live”. He was referring to justification by faith. Galatians 3:22-26 - The dispensation of the Law is not permanent. It lasted until Jesus came. Now that Jesus has come, we are justified by faith. The rich Greek and Roman families in the past would have tutors who train the sons of the house. Now that Christ has come, there is no need for the Law to be our tutor anymore. “But the Scriptures imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, confined for the faith which should afterwards be revealed. So that the law has become our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. For you are all children of God, through faith in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:22-26 WEB) Romans 4:13-15 - The word “world” is “cosmos” in Greek which means all the privileges and endowments of creation. Adam sinned and gave his rulership to Satan, making Satan the “god” of this world. We became the heir of the world through the righteousness of faith because we are in Christ—the promise was given to Abraham and his “offspring” who is Christ. You can't walk in your position as the “heir of the world” when you are sick and broke. Provision and health are lesser blessings included in the position of "heir of the world". Many believers are trying to gain blessings through the Law and that is why they do not see God’s blessings. Pastor Prince is not antinomian (against the Law). He is for the Law for the reason that the Law was given. “For the promise to Abraham and to his offspring that he should be heir of the world wasn’t through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void, and the promise is made of no effect. For the law produces wrath, for where there is no law, neither is there disobedience.” (Romans 4:13-15 WEB) Genesis 22:12 - Satan cannot challenge God’s decision to bless Abraham because there is a covenant relationship between God and Abraham. “He said, “Don’t lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.”” (Genesis 22:12 WEB) Romans 7:4-8 - Trying to keep the Law causes your flesh to stir up sinful passions. Holiness cannot come from trying to keep the Law. When you try to keep the Law, you will bear fruit to death. When you are led by the Spirit, you will bear fruit to God. We have died with Christ and we are also dead to the Law. Now we are risen with Christ and seated with Him in Heaven. “Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you would be joined to another, to him who was raised from the dead, that we might produce fruit to God. For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law, worked in our members to bring out fruit to death. But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that in which we were held; so that we serve in newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter. What shall we say then? Is the law sin? May it never be! However, I wouldn’t have known sin, except through the law. For I wouldn’t have known coveting, unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.” But sin, finding occasion through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of coveting. For apart from the law, sin is dead.” (Romans 7:4-8 WEB) Teach your children by their identity in Christ, not by giving the Ten Commandments. “You are a Jesus boy. A Jesus boy does not bully or hit people.” Sudio Femtio Review (Dual-Pairing Bluetooth Speakers)We are long-time fans of Sudio products.
