14 July 2019 - Secrets From Moses’ 40 Days - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon Notes(Originally preached on 26 November 2014) John 1:17 - The Law was given from a distance, but Grace (Jesus) came in person. The Law is true, but Grace is the truth that will set you free. “For the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.” (John 1:17 WEB) A servant (Moses) can tell you what claims and demands the Master has upon you, but it takes the Son to unveil the heart of God. Exodus 32:30 - Moses wasn’t sure (he said “perhaps”) that he could make atonement for Israel, whereas our Lord Jesus went up to the cross sure that He would make atonement for us. “On the next day, Moses said to the people, “You have sinned a great sin. Now I will go up to Yahweh. Perhaps I shall make atonement for your sin.”” (Exodus 32:30 WEB) Moses had 2 occasions of 40 days with God—1) Moses came down because of Israel’s idolatry, 2) Moses came down from Mount Sinai after receiving all commandants and statutes from God. Jesus also had 2 occasions of 40 days with God—1) the testing from the devil in the wilderness. Jesus came out of the 40 days with the power to bless. 2) Jesus spent 40 days with the disciples on earth after His resurrection. 40 is the number of testing, trial or probation. Jesus was not tempted to sin. He was tested by the devil. Jesus had no sin nature, so there was no stirrings inside Him when the devil tried to tempt Him. Jesus was born of a virgin, being totally free from sin from birth. Jesus is impeccable. It’s not that He would not sin—He could not sin. Jesus is like a pure gold bar, tested and verified that there is no impurity in Him. It’s not enough to know a person’s ways. You must know the person’s heart. Does God judge and discipline? Yes. But He doesn’t punish believers. Today the world is interested in creation. In the whole Bible, only only one chapter was dedicated to creation—Genesis 1. However, Moses wrote 7 chapters dedicated to God’s redemption—Exodus 25-31, corresponding to Moses’ 40 days on Mount Sinai. Deuteronomy 9:8-12 - During the period of Egypt to Sinai, God dealt with Israel by pure Grace. There was no record that God was ever angry with them during that time. Israel kept sinning against God during that time, but God just kept providing for their needs. It was not dependent on Israel’s goodness, but on His goodness. Had Israel said “Don’t bless us based on our faithfulness but on Your faithfulness,” God wouldn’t have given them the Law. The Law was never given to justify man, but to expose man’s sinfulness. The Law results in the wrath of God. Do you want to be under Law or Grace? How can we be fulfilled by the shadow (Law), when the substance (Grace) has already been given? Moses had the Grace to fast for 40 days and 40 nights. Read the Four Gospels—in the presence of Jesus, no one died. In His presence there is healing and even resurrection. To partake unworthily of Holy Communion means to act as though your sins are not already all forgiven. Moses only received the tablets of the Ten Commandments at the end of the 40 days. Moses broke the two tablets of the Ten Commandments and God wasn’t angry. If Moses had brought the tablets into the camp, all the children of Israel would have died—the Law is the ministry of death. Whoever was on Moses’ side gathered to him (specifically the tribe of Levi), and they slew 3000 people who insistent on worshiping the golden calf. On the other hand, when the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Day of Pentecost, 3000 souls were saved. The second time Moses came down from the mountain with the new tablets of the Law, Moses put them in the Ark of the Covenant—a picture of our sins covered and forgiven because of the blood of Jesus Christ. “Also in Horeb you provoked Yahweh to wrath, and Yahweh was angry with you to destroy you. When I had gone up onto the mountain to receive the stone tablets, even the tablets of the covenant which Yahweh made with you, then I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights. I neither ate bread nor drank water. Yahweh delivered to me the two stone tablets written with God’s finger. On them were all the words which Yahweh spoke with you on the mountain out of the middle of the fire in the day of the assembly. It came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights, that Yahweh gave me the two stone tablets, even the tablets of the covenant. Yahweh said to me, “Arise, get down quickly from here; for your people whom you have brought out of Egypt have corrupted themselves. They have quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them. They have made a molten image for themselves!”” (Deuteronomy 9:8-12 WEB) Israel boasted in their ability to do anything that God wanted (Exodus 19). They pledged obedience to whatever contract without seeing it first. Right after that, God covered the mountain in a dark cloud and said that whoever approached would die. Before that, God never did this. What was the result of Israel’s boasting? They committed idolatry by making a golden calf to worship. Under Grace, we can draw near to God and receive more life—it is a new and living way. The blood of bulls and goats only provides a temporary covering. The blood of Jesus provides a lasting forgiveness. The blood of Jesus has made us totally righteous. God the Father is so pleased with Jesus’ finished work. We are no longer under Law, but under Grace. We are sons, not just servants.

17 March 2019 - The Story of Job Through the Lens of Grace - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed:
God is a loving God. Man not knowing this was the source of the original sin. Eve didn’t believe that God’s commandment was for her own good. The devil always presents God as not generous and always out for His own gain. If God compromises on His righteousness, the whole universe would disintegrate. God is holy in all He does, but the essence of God is love. God is self-sacrificing and loving. You don’t have to give Him a reason to love you — that frustrates His Grace. He is good to you because He is good. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. This was shown even in the Garden of Eden when God clothed Adam and Eve with the hide of the dead animal and its blood. Every man has sin in his blood. That’s why the virgin birth was needed. Medical science has discovered that the placenta only brings food to the baby and brings waste away from the baby — it does not bring the mother’s blood to the baby. Mary’s sinful blood didn’t taint Jesus. The mystery of the Triune God: Three in One and One in Three. Jesus, one of the Three, came down to earth. Today if God rejects the sinner who believes in Jesus, in essence He’s saying that “Jesus’ work at the cross wasn’t perfect,” and He would have to apologize to Jesus. But God doesn’t need to apologize to anyone. He never recalls His word and doesn’t make any mistakes. God sent Jesus for this purpose. Through the cross, the holiness of God is magnified. The devil understands the Law, but Grace is beyond him. The devil is a lawyer. Jesus is also a lawyer. Today God is righteous in making us righteous. The righteous basis is the cross. Our salvation came at such a cost, such that God’s only Son had to die for us. Without the cross, God cannot make us righteous. Imagine you’re standing in front of the world’s worst criminal. You feel love for him, compassion for him, and you want to die in his place for his crimes. To add to that, you even want to give all your assets to him. To man, that is double-whammy weird, but that is what God did for us. 27 May 2018 - The Law of Plunder: No Battle No Spoils - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed: (I missed out the ones before - please let me know if you remember the songs) God You’re So Good - Passion The people who fight for the Law most of the time can’t even memorize the Ten Commandments. We are dead to the Law. It is possible to obey the Commandment not to steal and yet you can remain a miser (stingy). It is possible to obey the Commandment not to commit adultery, and yet you can have a loveless marriage. Grace always empowers one to go further: to be generous and loving. People who have a bondage to pornography will have an unhappy marriage with lots of strife. There will be a lack of sexual satisfaction with the spouse. Pastor Prince shared a testimony about a student who was bound to pornography. He was delivered by regularly declaring that he is the righteousness of God in Christ. Confess it even if you feel like a hypocrite saying it. There is power in the confession. People should sense royalty when you come into a room - not pride or ‘holier than thou’ attitude, but a dignity like Jesus. Numbers 31:25-31 - Eleazar was the High Priest after Aaron. Eleazar was Aaron’s son. Eleazar means “Helper”. To be in touch with the High Priest means touching nearness to God. Today our High Priest is Jesus. Through Him we have nearness to God. The Levites were the assistants to the priests. The priests assisted the High Priest. There are degrees of closeness to God: Jesus had 70 disciples. Out of the 70, there were the 12 disciples who walked closely with Jesus. Out of the 12, there were 3 disciples - Peter, James and John who were in Jesus’ inner circle. Out of the 3, there was 1 - John. The closest to Jesus, who leaned on and listened to the heartbeat of God. The plunder is divided into two parts. Between: 1) Those who went to battle, 2) The congregation (who didn’t go to battle). The Lord gets a tribute as well - similar to the tithing principle. The heave offering (In Hebrew: Terumah) is one of the highest offerings to give to the Lord. It is given to the high priest - the one who is nearest to God. The ones who went to battle give 1 out of every 500 as a tribute to the Lord. The ones who stayed back from battle give 1 out of every 50 as a tribute to the Lord. The ones who went to battle get much more spoils - 10 times more. They are nearer to God. Today our battles are spiritual: we battle/labor by spending time in God’s word to uncover treasures from it. Those who labor in the word will receive much more spoils and nearness to God than those who just use the sermons from others who spent time to meditate on God’s word. We can also go to battle by serving the Lord despite all the attacks from the enemy. Those who didn’t go to battle pay their tributes to the Levites. The offering doesn’t go higher. “Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: “Count up the plunder that was taken—of man and beast—you and Eleazar the priest and the chief fathers of the congregation; and divide the plunder into two parts, between those who took part in the war, who went out to battle, and all the congregation. And levy a tribute for the LORD on the men of war who went out to battle: one of every five hundred of the persons, the cattle, the donkeys, and the sheep; take it from their half, and give it to Eleazar the priest as a heave offering to the LORD. And from the children of Israel’s half you shall take one of every fifty, drawn from the persons, the cattle, the donkeys, and the sheep, from all the livestock, and give them to the Levites who keep charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.” So Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.” (Numbers 31:25-31 NKJV) 20 May 2018 - Know Your Eternal Calling from God - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed:
God’s calling for us is eternal and it goes beyond this life. God has prepared Heaven, Paradise, the New Jerusalem or whatever you want to call it, for us to dwell in and enjoy forever. God has designed our new spiritual bodies to be able to enjoy the pleasures and blessings of our eternal call. Jesus redeemed us by His blood, but there are still enemies who refuse to leave. The land has been purchased but the tenants are still staying in the squatters. Soon the Lord will come back in power to evict the enemies. I Kings 4:29-34 - God called the Jews and because of their calling, He is able to bless them with the wisdom to tap into their brainpower. The wisdom from God is not received through education. Education just allows us to accumulate knowledge. Wisdom is the ability to use the knowledge which we have. The Book of Proverbs says that the spirit of a man is the candle of the Lord. The Lord can give you inspiration through your spirit. “And God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore. Thus Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the men of the East and all the wisdom of Egypt. For he was wiser than all men— than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and his fame was in all the surrounding nations. He spoke three thousand proverbs, and his songs were one thousand and five. Also he spoke of trees, from the cedar tree of Lebanon even to the hyssop that springs out of the wall; he spoke also of animals, of birds, of creeping things, and of fish. And men of all nations, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom, came to hear the wisdom of Solomon.” (I Kings 4:29-34 NKJV) Proverbs 2:6 - Knowledge and understanding come from the breath of God. “For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;” (Proverbs 2:6 NKJV) II Timothy 3:13-17 - The words “inspiration of God” means God-breathed. It was the breath of God that made man a living being. If the word of God is God-breathed then we need it for every area of our lives. We can read the Bible and receive the breath of God. We live in times where people say right is wrong and wrong is right. We need to define things correctly for our children, if not the world will teach them its values. Holiness is not about looking down on people and saying “don’t come near me because I’m holier than you”. Holiness means uncommonness - it means being set apart for God’s plans and purposes. When people walk with you, they are able to sense that you’re homely and approachable, but there’s something morally different about you: When most people are crushed and looking for answers, you walk certainly because you know who made you. When most people are anxious and fearful, you have peace. The Big Bang Theory which excludes God from creation can’t be true: Everything that is blown up goes into chaos and disarray - it doesn’t result in order. We live in a world with lots of suppositions but we know the truth: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The word wise in “able to make you wise” is “Sophizo” in Greek. In Hebrew it is “Chokmah”. The word of God is able to give you the wisdom to be saved from whatever trials you’re facing. It is able to supply whatever you need. “But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (II Timothy 3:13-17 NKJV) 29 April 2018 - How to be Blessed: God’s Way - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesPraise and Worship songs performed:
When people need healing, they tend to look for verses on healing and expect to be healed right away. However many times God is more interested in first bringing you out of occupation with self and bringing you into occupation with Christ. After hearing and hearing messages about Jesus and His loveliness, all of a sudden you realize that the faith you need to be healed is there. Genesis 12:2-3 - God wants to bless us to be a blessing. You are a blessing going somewhere to happen. This is the first place in the Bible where “blessing” is mentioned. Blessing (a noun) is first mentioned in the story of Abraham. The word for blessing in Hebrew is “Barak”. It is made up of three Hebrew letters. The first two Hebrew letters in the word is “Bar” which means “Son”. The last Hebrew letter in the word is a picture of an open hand. Together it means “the Son of the open hand”. Blessing in Hebrew is “Barakah”. It has an additional Hebrew letter “Hei”. Together, the Hebrew letters have the meaning of “The Son of the Open Hand of Grace”. Since Israel rejected God’s plan for them to be an example of blessing, God made them an example of cursing. Through the Law, no one can be blessed because man cannot keep the Law. If you come under the Law, you’ll be cursed. “I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”” (Genesis 12:2-3 NKJV) The definition of “blessing” by John N. Oswalt : To bless means to endue with power for success, prosperity, fecundity (fertility), longevity, etc. When God blesses you, He endues you with power. God is the only Source of blessing. A curse is an enduement of power for failure. Everything is heaven cannot be lesser than earth. Everything there is enhanced. For a believer, to live is Christ and to die is gain. Jesus is still a Man today in heaven. He is a Man in glory. Blessing will reverse the curse in your life. It doesn’t just remove what is negative, but it adds on what is of heaven. In heaven there is no shortage and there is nothing hurtful or destructive. At the end of the Book of Judges, it says that everyone did what was right in their own eyes. That’s what is happening today as well, especially on social media. No matter man’s opinions, we can’t change God’s ways of doing things. 25 April 2018 - Everything Good and Bad will Give God Praise - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Encounter Night Sermon NotesEven when things don’t seem to be working in your favor, God is working behind the scenes. Many times we don’t thank God for protection or help rendered that we don’t know about. Esther received favor from God. We need to receive and rely on His favor. Testimony: There was a student who memorized the whole Book of Proverbs and he received straight A’s for his school exams. When you touch God’s word, you touch the way to prosper you. When you meditate on God’s word, you will have good success and make your way prosperous. Psalm 1 - Those who meditate on God’s word will prosper in everything they do. Their leaf will always be green — renewal of youth and health. We need to listen to God’s word and not the news. The news says that as your days increase, you will get weaker and older. God’s word says that as your days increase, your strength will increase. That’s the opposite of what the world says. Don’t accept what the world says so easily. In the Book of Esther, the name of God is not mentioned. The name of God doesn’t appear in it, and yet you see God working behind the scenes. The Book of Esther is a book of God’s provision, not so much of His miracles. In Greek, “Provideo” - “Pro” means before, “video” means to see. God sees your need and provides the supply before you even know of your need. An acrostic: GRACE - God’s riches at Christ’s expense There are four hidden acrostics of the name Yahweh in the Book of Esther. Everytime an acrostic appears, it is a pivotal point in the story — a game-changing moment. Yahweh in Hebrew is made of the four Hebrew letters: Yud hei vav hei. English reads from left to right but the Hebrew language reads from right to left. Even when you don’t understand God’s word, you are still cleansed as you read or listen to it. One of the appearance of God’s name is God name “I AM”. Psalm 96:11 - This verse is an acrostic with Yud hei vav hei. Without the Lord, the heavens cannot be glad and the earth can’t rejoice. “Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice. Let the sea roar, and its fullness!” (Psalms 96:11 WEB) 22 April 2018 - Wise as Serpents Harmless as Doves - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlinePraise and Worship songs performed:
Hesed wisdom is “grace wisdom”. The most often used word for “wisdom” in the Bible in Hebrew is “chokmah”. In Greek, it is “sofia”. Proverbs 3:13-17 - In the Book of Proverbs, Wisdom is personified as a woman. When you embrace wisdom, you get five things: long life, riches, honor, pleasure and peace. “Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding; For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies, And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her. Length of days is in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace.” (Proverbs 3:13-17 NKJV) James 1:17 - Good gifts are for the world but perfect gifts are for believers. Ideas given to non-believers are good gifts whereas ideas given to believers are perfect gifts. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” (James 1:17 NKJV) James 1:5-8 - If you are a wise person, you will always know that you lack wisdom. If you ask God for wisdom, He will show you the root that’s causing your problems in life right now. If you’re working in a company, your first duty is to make sure your company does well. Witness and minister to your colleagues in your free time only, not during work hours. That’s wisdom. “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” (James 1:5-8 NKJV) Deuteronomy 8:18 - God won’t zap and make money drop from the sky - that’s counterfeit money and God doesn’t deal in counterfeit money. God does not give you wealth. He gives you the power to get wealth. The word “get” means to create. It’s talking about God giving you ideas to get wealth. ““And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.” (Deuteronomy 8:18 NKJV) I Kings 3:4-28 - This is a burnt offering, not a sin offering. Sin offering is for the atonement for sins. Burnt offering is where the righteousness of the lamb offered is transferred to the offerer. The word of God calls the sin offering the most holy offering whereas burnt offering is just called holy - The sin offering represents what Jesus did on the cross. That’s the most pleasing thing to God. King Solomon didn’t have to offer 1000 burnt offerings - he could have just offered 1. It shows his great appreciation for Christ. Long life (in wisdom’s right hand) for Solomon was conditional - based on whether he kept God’s commandments. He was still under the Law. However we believers who are under grace have Jesus to give us long life - He is the Son of the Right Hand. Ask God for length of days and you can freely receive it. When you get Jesus you get everything. Solomon was worshipping God at Gibeon but the Ark of the Covenant wasn’t there. The Ark was in the City of David. The Ark represents Jesus. The gold on the Ark represents Jesus’ deity, the wood represents Jesus’ body of flesh and the blood on the mercy seat represents the blood that Jesus shed for us. Solomon worshipping at Gibeon where the Ark wasn't there is a picture of religion - where Jesus is not in the center. The first thing Solomon did after he woke up from the dream is to worship where the Ark of the Covenant was. The first sign of a man who has received wisdom: he appreciates the Lord’s presence. The first thing Solomon said after he had heard the two women talk was “Bring me a sword”. In the Bible, the “Sword” refers to the word of God. In the Hebrew alphabet, “Aleph Tav” (A and Z) is the divine signature of Jesus. Jesus has the final word in your life. “Divide the living child in two, and give half to one, and half to the other.” - In this phrase there are three occurrences of Aleph Tav. God gives us the power to get wealth - God never gives you anything that makes you sinful. Capitalism is something from God. Communism is not from God. Jesus bore our sins in His body and His soul. Not in His spirit. There is something greater than the love of a mother - God sent His only begotten Son to die for us on the cross. “Now the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there, for that was the great high place: Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar. At Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask! What shall I give you?” And Solomon said: “You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. Now, O LORD my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in. And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted. Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?” The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. Then God said to him: “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you. And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days. So if you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.” Then Solomon awoke; and indeed it had been a dream. And he came to Jerusalem and stood before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, offered up burnt offerings, offered peace offerings, and made a feast for all his servants. Now two women who were harlots came to the king, and stood before him. And one woman said, “O my lord, this woman and I dwell in the same house; and I gave birth while she was in the house. Then it happened, the third day after I had given birth, that this woman also gave birth. And we were together; no one was with us in the house, except the two of us in the house. And this woman’s son died in the night, because she lay on him. So she arose in the middle of the night and took my son from my side, while your maidservant slept, and laid him in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom. And when I rose in the morning to nurse my son, there he was, dead. But when I had examined him in the morning, indeed, he was not my son whom I had borne.” Then the other woman said, “No! But the living one is my son, and the dead one is your son.” And the first woman said, “No! But the dead one is your son, and the living one is my son.” Thus they spoke before the king. And the king said, “The one says, ‘This is my son, who lives, and your son is the dead one’; and the other says, ‘No! But your son is the dead one, and my son is the living one.’ ” Then the king said, “Bring me a sword.” So they brought a sword before the king. And the king said, “Divide the living child in two, and give half to one, and half to the other.” Then the woman whose son was living spoke to the king, for she yearned with compassion for her son; and she said, “O my lord, give her the living child, and by no means kill him!” But the other said, “Let him be neither mine nor yours, but divide him. ” So the king answered and said, “Give the first woman the living child, and by no means kill him; she is his mother.” And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had rendered; and they feared the king, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to administer justice.” (I Kings 3:4-28 NKJV) 15 April 2018 - Once Forgiven Always Forgiven - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlinePraise and Worship songs performed:
The word Gospel means “good news”. It is good news to us because Jesus died on the cross to pay for all our sins. When you know that you’re forgiven of all your sins, it gives you a peace in your spirit that translates to well being in physical and emotion health as well. We will receive a new spiritual body during the Rapture and we will never die. We will meet Jesus in the air and then there will be judgment on earth - the Great Tribulation where the antichrist will rule. Believers will already be in heaven, safe from all judgment. Hebrews 10:1-4 - The sacrifices under the Old Covenant are a picture of the true Sacrifice - Jesus’ death at the cross. The animal sacrifices could only cover Israel’s sins but it wasn’t a true payment for sins. Jesus’ sacrifice took away our sins and is a true payment for our sins. A purified conscience means that a person does not have sin-consciousness and he or she knows that their sins are already totally forgiven. Jesus died as an overpayment to God for our sins. Jesus’ death enriched God - God became a Gainer - He gained more glory from Redemption than from Creation. The Redeemer’s crown is more glorious than the Creatorial crown. The cross is God’s love making payment to God’s justice. God doesn’t want sin on your conscience. When sin is removed from your conscience, it is dethroned from your heart. Right believing will always lead to right living. Having sin consciousness is dishonoring the work of God - it’s acting like Jesus’ sacrifice at the cross is not good enough to pay for your sins. “For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.” (Hebrews 10:1-4 NKJV) God gives angels charge over us to watch us in all our ways. The angels are eagerly watching and seeing God’s plan for man unfolding. 8 April 2018 - Condemnation is the Deepest Root of our Problems - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlinePraise and Worship songs performed:
It seems like the world is increasingly depressed, anxious and worried. It’s one of the signs of the end times that Jesus mentioned - men’s hearts will fail them. In these end times when darkness covers the earth and deep darkness upon the world, the glory of the Lord will be seen clearly upon us believers! The Bible calls Death an enemy. God never meant for man to die. God’s dream for man is to live healthy, with a poised mind and stable emotions. Why is there so much death and chaos in the world today? Because of man’s sin. Long before the body is broken, the heart is broken. That is where our problems begin. The devil puts evil thoughts in our minds and when he does that he uses the personal pronoun. For example: “I am a useless failure”. So you end up accepting those thoughts and believing them. That’s the evil ‘genius’ of the devil. Today we are declared righteous because of what Jesus did for us at the cross. But does mean that we that our actions are always righteous? No. When we sin, do we become sinners again? No. When a caterpillar has become a butterfly, can it reverse and become a caterpillar again by what it does? No. We are righteous not because we do good. It’s because of what Jesus has done. God gave man a chance to exercise his free will - He planted the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the midst of all the trees that God said man could freely eat from. After Adam sinned, his first reaction was to hide himself. We have a tendency to hide ourselves behind our careers, possessions, etc. to cover up our guilt and feelings of inadequacy. The first question asked in the Bible was from God, “Who told you that you were naked?”. The first question in the New Testament is the answer to man’s covering nakedness: “Where is He Who is born King of the Jews?”. Autoimmune disorders happen when your body’s system is fighting against itself. It happens because of stress. Sheep cannot lie down in green pastures when they are stressed. What causes stress? Fear - which is a deeper root than stress. When sheep are afraid of danger, they cannot rest. What causes fear? Condemnation - the deepest root. God’s way to help us is to remove the root causing our problems. People who blame themselves and are under condemnation punish themselves. One of the ways this happens is that their bodies produce sickness and disease to punish themselves. Guilt will rob you of peace of mind, health in your body, and your relationships. Sometimes when a person is under condemnation, they take out that guilt on their loved ones. That is why the gospel is so important -the knowledge of the forgiveness of all our sins will set us free from condemnation. There is now therefore no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. God is righteous in making you righteous. Jesus’ death at the cross paid for all your sins. 1 April 2018 - Resurrection Sunday: Our Leprosy was Perfectly Cleansed - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlinePraise and Worship songs performed:
Jesus conquered Death, grave and Hell and rose from the dead. It was never God’s plan for man to die. God loves man and gave him free choice. Man can freely choose their actions but they cannot choose the consequence of their actions. God calls Death an enemy. The shortest verse in the Bible says: “Jesus wept”. Jesus wept at Lazarus’ tomb because it was never God’s plan for man to die. God is a Judge. He is a loving and generous God but He also has to exact justice. God is Love but He also has to preside as a Judge. Man chose to sin against God so Death, sickness and every bad thing came into the world as a consequence of the sin. God hates sin but He loves the sinner. To the degree which God loves us, He hates sin. No one could dream of God’s plan to send His Son to die for us so that He can be righteous in making us righteous. Man sins because they are sinners. Sin is hereditary in the blood because of Adam’s sin. A child doesn’t have to be taught to lie - they know it already. |
