26 November 2017 - The Strength of the Lord is Upon the Weak and Insignificant of the Earth - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online

Where two or three are gathered in Jesus’ name, there He is in the midst of them.
Two is the smallest plurality.
We are not meant to live with just us and God. God’s dream is the church.

The longest chapter in the Book of Genesis is about the church - where the servant is looking for a bride for Isaac.

The church is not a building. The church is the people of God who believe in Jesus.
The church is the most successful organization in the universe.

God put Gold, silver and platinum out here on earth for the church.
The treasures are for God’s children.

God only corrects His own children. We correct our own children, not other’s children.

There’s nothing easier to do than looking. Just look to Jesus for all your needs, even in your marriage.

I Corinthians 1:26-31 - People always think that they have to rise up to God’s level, but actually God loves to come down to our level.
He proved that by sending His Son down on earth.
God loves to use the insignificant things of the world to bring to nothing the great things.
Get in the flow of God so that you can learn how to receive from Him.
If one is good looking naturally, he or she will tend to depend on the good looks rather than on the favor of God.
The favor of God makes a person appear more and more attractive.
It’s okay to be good looking, rich, strong, intelligent, etc. but don’t make it your confidence. Don’t allow these to make you proud.
Pastor Prince believes that Samson was a scrawny and skinny man, so when he lifted something heavy, everyone could see that God’s anointing was upon him.
When someone follows grace, he or she will become radiant. Look to the Lord and be radiant.
God can use you even if you are not educated.

“For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence. But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the LORD.”” (I Corinthians 1:26-31 NKJV)

Money is a servant and it’s not a good master.

Receive strength in the Lord when you are conscious of your weakness

Judges 6:11-16 - Gideon was hiding. In the eyes of men, he would be considered cowardly.
God called Gideon a mighty man of valor.
God calls the things that are not as though they are.
Its not that it’s not true - It’s us who don’t see the truth about us.
Gideon’s might was in his weakness - Our weakness is our strength in the Lord.
As long as we see our weakness, we can be strong in God.
Gideon was the least of the least and he was chosen by God.
Gideon gained the confidence to defeat the Midianites from a dream that a barley roll tumbled and smashed into the Midianite camp.
“Midian” means “strife”. When there’s strife in a situation you need to roll Jesus into the situation.

“Now the Angel of the LORD came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites. And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, “The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!” Gideon said to Him, “O my lord, if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the LORD has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.” Then the LORD turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?” So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” And the LORD said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.”” (Judges 6:11-16 NKJV)

God used a boy, a stone and a sling to defeat the largest, strongest and most fearsome warrior of the Philistines.
Archaeologists have recently found a Philistine helmet and discovered that it covers the forehead all the way to the eyebrow level.
Goliath must have been laughing at David causing his forehead to be exposed to David.

God uses the least things to bring to nought the things that are.
Don’t underestimate the power of the Holy Communion to heal.
Diseases that the world sees as incurable and serious, a simple bread and wine contains the power to destroy them.

II Kings 5:9-14 - Elisha’s House was recently just uncovered.
Naaman was the Commander-in-Chief of Syria’s army and he was a leper.
He had pride. God was dealing with his pride by giving a simple method of healing.
Many times God’s instruction is humbling and our flesh doesn’t like how simple it is.
A gift from God is priceless. The moment you put a price tag to it, you cheapen it.
The things of God: salvation and righteousness cannot be purchased.
“Abanah” can mean “stony” or “financial support”. Maybe you’re trusting in the Law or in your money.
“Pharpar” means “quick fruitfulness”. The things of the world work fast but cause more harm in the end.
It’s better to trust God’s ways for your situation - He wants to give you real fruitfulness.

“Then Naaman went with his horses and chariot, and he stood at the door of Elisha’s house. And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean.” But Naaman became furious, and went away and said, “Indeed, I said to myself, ‘He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.’ Are not the Abanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage. And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?” So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.” (II Kings 5:9-14 NKJV)

Focus on the Lord for your strength instead of relying on your own talents

When you don’t trust God completely, you don’t get complete victory.

Many men who grow up to have problems with sexual addiction had problems with rejection in their childhood.
A weak or absentee father can create problems for a growing boy.
Being a male is a matter of birth but being a man is a matter of choice.
As a father, pattern masculinity for your son.

Before the devil can weaken you, he has to make you focus on your strengths and talents instead of on the Lord.
The devil will try to take your eyes away from the consciousness of your weakness because that’s where your strength in the Lord is.

Samson had very long hair as a boy and was probably made fun of by his peers for looking like a girl.
His long hair (his conscious weakness) was the source of his strength in the Lord.

Isaiah 64:1-4 - One day Jesus will come back like that, but now it is still the age of grace.
Outward shows of power (wind, earthquake and fire as in what God taught Elijah in the wilderness of Sinai) does not soften a man’s heart.
Grace - a still, small voice, humbles a man’s heart.

“Oh, that You would rend the heavens! That You would come down! That the mountains might shake at Your presence— As fire burns brushwood, As fire causes water to boil— To make Your name known to Your adversaries, That the nations may tremble at Your presence! When You did awesome things for which we did not look, You came down, The mountains shook at Your presence. For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, Nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one who waits for Him.” (Isaiah 64:1-4 NKJV)

I Corinthians 2:9 - The Apostle Paul quoted Isaiah 64:4 here.
You find the expression “wait on the Lord” a lot in the Old Testament but not in the New Testament.
We don’t have to wait on the Lord anymore because He has already given us all things. We just need to walk into it.

“But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”” (I Corinthians 2:9 NKJV)
