27 November 2016 - Heaven Focuses on Redemption And Not on Creation - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online
Our Heavenly Father loves us even as He loves the Lord Jesus.
If two of us gather in Jesus' name (2 is the smallest majority), there Jesus is in the midst.
The church of Jesus Christ is God's greatest dream.
The Lord Jesus was always with the Father, even before He came to earth.
The Book of Genesis is the book of beginning.
The book of Genesis describes the lives of four men as head figures:
Abraham is the key figure. God is called the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Joseph (The book of Genesis ends with Joseph).
In the four gospels, it takes four writers to talk about One Man, Jesus.
When God talks about creation, there is only one chapter. When God talks about redemption, there are many chapters.
God did not put redemption as an afterthought. Creation is the servant of redemption.
God had in His heart redemption all the while.
We are blessed when we study on redemption, because heaven is focused on redemption. When you talk about redemption, all of heaven's focus is on you.
Heaven's focus is not on the great, the accomplished or the wealthy.
Heaven's focus is on the shepherds, the lowly virgin, etc.
Eden was before the fall. When man fell, his body was no longer the same.
Man was never meant to grow old or die.
Growing old is a curse that the inhabitants of the earth experience. In heaven, no one is old.
Decay came because of sin. The wages of sin is death. It was never God's plan. God calls Death an enemy.
We are not waiting for the antichrist. We are waiting for the Blessed Hope, the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ during the Rapture.
Even if Jesus tarries and we depart to be with the Lord before the Rapture, the atoms from our body are not lost to God.
God will gather the atoms back at the Rapture and we will have a brand new body.
Why did God create the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil? It was to give man the opportunity to exercise his free choice.
If there was nothing to choose from, then the gift of free choice is not really free choice.
Before the flood, the earth was upright. After the flood, man's life was reduced by half.
Before the flood, there was a firmament the Bible says, that created a canopy that provided a fully oxygenated environment for the earth, for living creatures to grow big and strong.
During the flood, the cracking of the earth caused toxic fumes and substances to rise up, shortening man's life by half.
Because the waters were released onto the surface during the flood, God had to freeze up all the excess water that was on the surface of the earth.
God had to tilt the earth. Scientifically, they say that if you tilt the earth back upright, the frozen waters will melt.
God sanctioned the eating of meat. If God says eat meat, eat meat!
Genesis 2:15-24 - It's always important when God consults Himself. God consulted Himself when He said "It is not good that man should be alone".
The woman is meant to be a helper.
God gave authority to Adam over all the animals. Today it's not the same. Animals are not under man's authority anymore. Man's crown of glory lies somewhere in the dust.
Living together (without marriage) is not God's idea. God's idea is marriage.
God wanted to show Adam the need for a partner. God knows how to promote things.
Many times we try to shove things into someone's face but they don't see it. We have to create the desire in them.
The rib is near to the heart. The place of love, so that Adam would love Eve.
If you don't like something about your wife or if there's something that irritates you, go to sleep. God will work in the night shift.
When God "made" woman, in Hebrew it means that He "built her delicately".
When God formed man, He "squeezed" the dust.
Woman was created from man's rib, she is the improved version.
The Hebrew word for man is "Ish" - there is no hei.
But when God breathed life into woman, the Hebrew word for woman is "Ishah" which has the hei (grace). The woman has the grace of influence.
God gave man the headship, but woman is the neck and has the power to turn the head. She has influence!
“Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” And the LORD God said, “ It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” (Genesis 2:15-24 NKJV)
Ephesians 3:31-33 - Guys, after you are married, at least emotionally, you have to leave your father and mother so that you can live your new life.
Honor your father and mother, but leave and cleave to your wife.
““For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.” (Ephesians 5:31-33 NKJV)
In the New Testament, "mystery" means something hidden that is now revealed to those who are initiated.
We are people who live in a time-bound world, and we cannot understand that God can see things without the constraints of time.
Creation is not God's first thought. Redemption was God's first thought!
Jesus sent the blind man to wash his eyes in the Pool of Siloam and he came back seeing.
"Siloam" means "the sent one". There are people who go to other countries to be missionaries, but they are not sent. To go is not sent. We must be sent.
Jesus was sent. Jesus is deity. Jesus came in the flesh, He was not born in the flesh.
Man must have a Master. We have to pick a side - it's either you're choosing heaven (God) or your choosing hell (the devil).
The blind man said "All I know is that once I was blind, but now I see."
The one with the experience will never be at the mercy of the one with the argument.
Don't let their eruditeness and well-learnedness intimidate you. You have a testimony!
If you trust in creation, you will fall from redemption. It is the same as falling from grace.
Holy Communion is one way to receive from redemption.
God knows that woman will be a source of man's happiness. The devil always tries to pervert that.
Some men abuse their wives. The word "abuse" comes from "abnormal use". If we don't understand the pattern, we will not use something properly.
We live in a culture of shame and covering up.
We cover up when we do wrong, when we feel that we have fallen short, and when we feel that we have imperfections.
When Jesus returns to rule on earth during the Millennial Reign of Christ, the wolf and the lamb will lie down together, and the little child will put his hand into the dwelling of an adder and be unharmed.
Jesus is coming back to establish that world.
The influx of cartoons about aliens and movies about aliens is the devil's plan to prepare an explanation for the Rapture.
He will say that we were abducted by aliens and attempt to convince everyone who is left behind on earth of that lie.
Genesis 3:6-16 - Adam was not somewhere else when the 'salesman' serpent was talking to Eve.
Adam was seeing the whole transaction and he kept quiet throughout.
Adam was there when God told him not to eat from the tree, and that was before Eve was made.
Adam was supposed to teach and share with Eve what God told him.
Eve did not know exactly what God said because she thought that if she touched the tree, she would die. God never said that.
Evil triumphs when good men keep quiet.
God sought man, and it was not man that sought for God.
God knew where they were, but He asked where they were because there is a spiritual element to those words.
Jesus cursed the fig tree because it represents self-righteousness - when man tries to cover himself with wealth, nobility, etc.
Fear is not a friend. God hates fear. Every time God comes to a man He will say "Fear not!".
Fear came in because man sinned. Fear is having more faith in what the devil can do, than in the power of God to deliver you.
Close on the heels of fear is hate. If you fear someone long enough you will hate them. Perfect love casts out fear. God loves us perfectly.
Sin makes us cowards. When you have a conscience, you have a tendency to do the evil.
Conscience causes us to fear God (in a negative way).
Adam blamed both God and Eve at the same time.
When you argue with your wife, never insist that you are right. Never try to reason it out. Never be quick to blame other people.
Always take the place where you are wrong. Just say sorry.
People will blame anybody but themselves. That's the essence of sin. The one who says sorry first is the winner in God's economy.
We are blessed and Satan is cursed. Satan always wants us to touch his things to bring us under the same curse as him.
Don't be natural, be spiritual. Walk with God and you will not be devour-able by Satan.
Satan crushed Jesus' heel and Jesus crushed Satan's head at the cross. Satan's seat of knowledge and intelligence was crushed.
The devil tried to corrupt the woman's seed by getting the fallen angels to intermingle with human women to produce the corrupted "Nephillim" race, such that there was no pure human seed left except for Noah and his family.
That is why God sent the flood to wipe out the entire Nephillim race.
There were no thorns and thistles before man fell. That is why Jesus wore the crown of thorns, to redeem the earth from the curse of thorns and thistles.
“So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.” And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?” Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.” And the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” So the LORD God said to the serpent: “Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life. And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.” To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.”” (Genesis 3:6-16 NKJV)
When Job was suffering in that one year, how did that whole situation turn around?
Job's problem was self-righteousness - he boasted in his charitable acts and all the things that he did right as a basis for his righteousness.
At the end of the Book of Job, Job came to place where he repented and he "abhorred himself", and God restored everything that he had lost.
When you have a debt ledger and you're heavily in debt, you don't want to look at it.
It's only when you know that all your sins are forgiven that you can talk about it freely.
Haters will always hate. But those who love you will still love you.
There is a wonderful peace when you can own up to your mistakes freely and easily.
Genesis 4:3-12 - Abel brought the lamb. He is saying that "I deserve to die, but this lamb dies in my place".
Cain offered the work of his hands, the produce of the land which is cursed.
In essence he is saying "I don't believe that I'm a sinner and it's Your fault that the earth is cursed".
Why did Cain murder Abel? It's because of the difference in approach - one approach produces love and the other produces hatred and even murder.
The word "sin" in the verse is the same Hebrew word that means "sin offering". God spoke to Cain with grace.
“And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the LORD. Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the LORD respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. So the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.” Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. Then the LORD said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” He said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?” And He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground. So now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you till the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth.”” (Genesis 4:3-12 NKJV)
I John 3:10-12 - Practicing righteousness means trusting in the sacrifice.
When you bring your works to God, that is evil work. When you bring Jesus to God, that is righteous work.
“In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous.” (I John 3:10-12 NKJV)
Luke 22:44 - The very first area that Jesus shed His blood on is the cursed ground.
Jesus' blood has redeeming quality. Jesus redeemed us from the curse of sweat and stress.
Every step we take is on blessed ground. We are redeemed!
“And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.” (Luke 22:44 NKJV)
