3 July 2016 - Glorious Gospel of the Happy God - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlineThe Lord has sanctified Sunday. The Lord Jesus honored this day by appearing to His disciples on a Sunday, and then appearing to them again on a Sunday. Something is given and conferred when we come to the house of God on a Sunday. Where two or more are gathered in Jesus' name, there He is. The smallest majority is two. Jesus is so gracious. I Timothy 1:11 - The word "blessed" here is "makarios" which means happy. Our God is a happy God! The glorious gospel cannot help but manifest God's holiness. “according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.” (I Timothy 1:11 NKJV) It is not the 'message of grace' - it is the gospel of the grace of God. When we are saved, there is no compromise on God's holiness. Jesus Christ pre-existed with God, even before the foundation of the world. People presume to judge the Bible, when actually the Bible judges them. The Bible is the infallible word of the Living God. The Bible tells us that God loves us. Yes God demands righteousness from men because they are His children. But God knew that if He placed the full demand on men, men would be unable to meet up with His standard of righteousness. The greatest knowledge you can have on this side of heaven is the knowledge of God. This knowledge gives birth to all other knowledge. Don't boast in your strength, riches, etc. Instead, boast in the knowledge of God. Jesus knew the love of God. Jesus is the only One who fully knows God's level of righteousness and how great is our offence to God. God's righteousness must be measured at His level - to hate is to kill, to lust is to commit adultery. All of us have offended God. That is why Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount so that men would come to the end of themselves and recognise their need for a Savior. Trespass offering - if anyone commits a sin unknowingly, he still must bring a sin offering. Jesus is our Trespass Offering that paid for all of our sins, known and unknown. Under the Law, every justice must be exacted, every demand must be met. God is the Triune God. Jesus always existed with God, but when He came into the world, He confined Himself to time. For our sins to be cleansed, we need Jesus to die for our sins. Our blood cannot cut it because it is tainted blood. Only Jesus' blood is sinless blood. Galatians 3:13 - Why did Jesus die on the cross? God designed it such that anyone who dies on a tree is cursed. By dying on the cross, Jesus redeemed us from EVERY curse - including ancestral curses, sickness and disease. “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),” (Galatians 3:13 NKJV) Jesus came to earth to die on the cross to fully meet all the claims of divine holiness and righteousness for us all. There is no time in heaven. God created time, but He is outside His creation of time. When Jesus died on the cross, His blood could avail for every single human since Adam, and for every human who hasn't even been born yet, because He is God who exists outside of time. People who believe in the "Big Bang Theory" cannot explain where the energy to cause the Big Bang came from. Men professing to be wise make themselves out to be fools. John 13:30-31 - It being night is prophetic. When Judas receive the piece of bread, darkness entered his heart. At the cross, Jesus has FULLY met all the claims of holiness and righteousness in our lives. Jesus' payment at the cross is an overpayment for us! Jesus did not destroy the Law, He fulfilled the Law - we are not under the Law because Jesus fulfilled it. We are no longer under that contractual agreement because what we owed is fully paid for already. “Having received the piece of bread, he then went out immediately. And it was night. So, when he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him.” (John 13:30-31 NKJV) The inheritance belongs to the Son, not to the servant. The servant can only reveal the demands of the Father, whereas only the Son can make known the love nature and the heart of the Father. John 1:16-17 - Some people try to tear asunder grace and truth, thinking that they are different, but they are the same thing. We have received out of Jesus' FULLNESS, not His littleness. The word "for" here is "anti", which means "in place of". We receive grace in place of grace. When one wave of grace is done, another wave of grace comes our way! Don't worry about your faith. Look at our faith, and like a bird it flies away. Look at grace and God is here to stay. “And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” (John 1:16-17 NKJV) Don't consider your 'friends' on social media who you don't even have a meal with as true friends. Their opinion about you shouldn't matter. Don't lose your life because of technology.

Jesus did not destroy the Law, He fulfilled the Law - we are not under the Law because Jesus fulfilled it. We are no longer under that contractual agreement because what we owed is fully paid for already.
Luke 15:1-7 - Jesus came to save sinners. If a person does not admit to being a sinner, then Jesus cannot be Savior in that person's life. Jesus came to be used. When people don't use Him, they will use their own strength, power, wisdom, occult power, etc. Jesus loves it when men use Him. That's Jesus - it's different from men. We didn't find Jesus - Jesus found us! He will find you! Jesus knows everything about you and yet He still loves you. The shepherd goes after the lost sheep UNTIL he finds it. The shepherd represents Jesus. Jesus goes after you UNTIL He finds you! When He find you, He REJOICES - He doesn't scold or punish you. It's not about behavior modification, it's about heart transformation. How did the sheep repent? The sheep allowed itself to be loved. The sheep consented to be carried by the shepherd. That, to God, is repentance. Repentance means to change your mind. “Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.” So He spoke this parable to them, saying: “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.” (Luke 15:1-7 NKJV) Jesus doesn't just answer our prayers. He answers them exceedingly, abundantly and above ALL we can ask or think! Regarding your life partner, God knows what you need, even anticipating your needs 10 years later. God always blesses you with the right partner, and not with someone whom no one wants. You can never out-give God. How can spiritually-bankrupt man meet God's divine claims of holiness and righteousness? That is why Jesus had to die on the cross to fully meet all those claims on our behalf! Because Jesus' death was an overpayment for our sin debt, God's holiness now demands that WE MUST BE BLESSED! To try to keep the Law when one is under Grace is like going out into the hot midday sun with a candle. Luke 15:20-23 - Your children will fail you at times. But when they return, they will realise the love you have for them, and love you like never before. The son could not complete his prepared speech. The Father loved his son first. The father kept supplying his son without any placing demands on him. He said "let us eat and be MERRY! (HAPPY)" Let us celebrate in the house of God - God doesn't hold your faults against you! Let us forget all naysayers and let's go get souls saved. ““And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry;” (Luke 15:20-23 NKJV) We must be able to detect and be sensitive to the stress and grief in your spouse's voice. I Peter 5:7 - The word "casting" here means to throw. The only other time this word was used in the New Testament is when the disciples threw their clothes onto the donkey for Jesus to sit on them (the clothes). When you throw your cares onto Jesus, they are no longer with you. The burden is no longer on you. The word "care" in the Greek means distracted. Care causes stress. “casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” (I Peter 5:7 NKJV) The first place Jesus shed blood was in the Garden of Gethsemane where He sweat blood. Adam was cursed to eat bread by the sweat of his face because he sinned - in other words, he was cursed to work hard for his supply. What began in one garden, was finished in another garden. Under extreme stress, the blood capillaries burst, causing Jesus to sweat blood. Jesus sweating blood has redeemed us from the curse of sweat! God wants us to have cool heads and cool bodies. (To be at rest and not stressed!)
