2 October 2016 - The God That Rewards - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online
This year marks 50 years of Jerusalem coming back as a nation after the "Six Day War (1967)". 5 is the number of grace and 7 is the number of perfection. Next year marks the 500th year of the Reformation. The Hebrew letters are numbers too. The letter/number 7 is "zayin" which is a picture of a sword, but it also represents sustenance or feeding. We fight by feeding on God's word and God will bring about our victory. We are living in dangerous times. The Bible says that the last days will be dangerous times. However, Psalms 91 tells us that God protects His people. When you recite Psalms 91, you are unleashing powerful spiritual weapons. Jesus Christ set us free once and for all, however we experience that freedom increasingly, step by step. As Christians, we cannot be demon possessed. If the Holy Spirit is in you, He does not share that space with demons. You can possibly be demon-oppressed from the outside (like feeling depressed), but you cannot have a demon inside you. You can tell that you are thinking wrong through your emotions - example: when you feel depressed. When a mother keeps on fearing for her child, there is wrong believing there. By worrying and fearing for your children, you are actually exposing them to danger. Job said "the thing which I greatly feared has come upon me". The very area you are fearful of is the very area you don't trust God in - You trust in the power of the enemy more than in God's protection. Surrender that area that you are fearful of completely to God. Faith is a walk with God.
Hebrews 11:5-6 - Enoch had a special arrangement with God as a friend so he did not die, but was 'raptured'.
There are three people in the Bible that are alive in their old body in heaven - Enoch, Moses and Elijah. Moses and Elijah will preach to the world during the Great Tribulation and they will be allowed to die at the hands of the Antichrist and be resurrected in full view of the whole world. When you give a gift to someone, it should be based on what the receiver likes and not based on what you like - example: When you give a gift to your wife, give her flowers if she likes that, not your favourite tech gadgets! You have to believe that God is a good God that wants to supply you with all your needs in your life. There are some 'religious' Christians that believe that you cannot do things for rewards. This is wrong believing. God is a Rewarder! “By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:5-6 NKJV) Whatever you do, God gives you the grace to do it. Every good and perfect gift is from God. Good gift examples: medicine, crops, water etc. Examples of perfect gifts: the gifts of the Holy Spirit and divine healing. I Corinthians 15:9-10 - God will never tell you to do something that you don't have the desire to do. Grace comes with the desire to do it. Even if you don't use the grace that is given to you, God is not hard up. He can always find someone else to replace you. Somebody else will fill your spot and take your blessings and rewards. How can a Christian Boss access the year-end bonus of his/her employees? If one is using the grace that was given to him/her, fruits (positive results) will be produced as a result of using the grace. The reason why some people experience burnout is because they are doing things that they are not meant to do and helping people they were not meant to help - stay within and flow in the grace that God gives you. If you use your youth for the Lord, He will renew your youth. If you use your time for God, He will multiply it back to you. If you use your strength for the Lord, He will multiply your strength back to you! “For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” (I Corinthians 15:9-10 NKJV) Luke 5:1-10 - When Jesus comes to your boat, He is setting you up for a blessing! Peter was not fully obedient - Jesus said let down your NETS while Peter said that he would let down his net (singular). God's vision for you is always greater than what you have for yourself. When you are praying for a job, God wants you to have a position! God's supply is more than enough for you. He always over-answers our prayers. When you give something to Jesus, He will reward you. What you give is not from you anyways, it was a gift from Him in the first place! God wants to bless you so much that you can be a blessing to others. Under the New Covenant of grace, it is the goodness of God that leads people to repentance. Pray for unbelievers (example: your colleagues) to be blessed and they will be led to repentance. “So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets. Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat. When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!” For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish which they had taken; and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men.”” (Luke 5:1-10 NKJV) ![]()
When Jesus comes to your boat, He is setting you up for a blessing! Peter was not fully obedient - Jesus said let down your NETS while Peter said that he would let down his net (singular). God's vision for you is always greater than what you have for yourself. When you are praying for a job, God wants you to have a position! God's supply is more than enough for you. He always over-answers our prayers.
Believing the truth will lead us to live a truthful lifestyle. It is wrong believing that leads one to live a sinful lifestyle. Matthew 10:41-42 - When God gives rewards, He will find every excuse to bless you. Even something as basic as giving a child a cup of cold water gets rewards heaped onto you. “He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”” (Matthew 10:41-42 NKJV) Ruth 2:9-12 - Ruth was a Moabite. Moab was located in present-day Jordan. Before Ruth went to glean from the field, she told her mother-in-law that she would find favor in the eyes of the boss, and yet she asked Boaz that question. Women, learn from her feminine wiles which drives men crazy (haha)! We receive a full reward from going to God for protection. “Let your eyes be on the field which they reap, and go after them. Have I not commanded the young men not to touch you? And when you are thirsty, go to the vessels and drink from what the young men have drawn.” So she fell on her face, bowed down to the ground, and said to him, “Why have I found favor in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, since I am a foreigner?” And Boaz answered and said to her, “It has been fully reported to me, all that you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, and how you have left your father and your mother and the land of your birth, and have come to a people whom you did not know before. The LORD repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge.”” (Ruth 2:9-12 NKJV) God doesn't want separation between men and God. That is why the veil in the temple was torn in two after Jesus died at the cross. God's heart is to reconcile Himself with man. God wants to bless you and supply all your needs! The Hebrew word for "offering" which is "korban" means drawing near. God has already drawn near to you. He wants you to draw near to Him. Hebrews 10:18-25 - The word for "new" here in Greek means "freshly killed". It's as if Jesus just died for you just now. We got to live with that in mind. We should talk to God everyday, all day long. Tribulation builds character. God is loving you when you feel frustrated in a certain area of your life. He disciplines you because you are His child. He doesn't discipline children that are not His own. “Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin. Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:18-25 NKJV) Hebrews 11:24-27 - The word "endured" means "to remain the same". That's why Moses was still young and strong and his eyes were not abated even at 120 years of age. Moses was motivated by the reward too! He looked to God. Look to Jesus as your Rewarder. You can introduce a reward system to reward your children when they do well. Children are motivated by either avoiding punishment, or by receiving a reward. Don't forget to tell your children that you love them regardless whether they are well-behaved or naughty. “By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.” (Hebrews 11:24-27 NKJV) If you ask "Why, why, why" when you are experiencing a trial, it will lead you into a downward spiral into depression. David said that his baby that was miscarried could not come back to him but that he will go to his child one day. All children that are stillborn are all growing up in heaven. They are in a better place than us. Always trust God for something better even when you experience loss. Hebrews 10:35-36 - In the Christian life there is a place for endurance. “Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:” (Hebrews 10:35-36 NKJV) Psalm 127:3-4 - A heritage has nothing to do with whether you did something good or bad. It is by grace. Your children are both your blood-born rights to receive and also rewards. “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.” (Psalms 127:3-4 NKJV) II Kings 4:8-17 - When you receive and take care of a prophet, you receive a prophet's reward. There is power in the spoken blessing. When God wants to bless you He brings people to speak into your life. When the devil wants to curse you he also brings people to speak into your life. “Now it happened one day that Elisha went to Shunem, where there was a notable woman, and she persuaded him to eat some food. So it was, as often as he passed by, he would turn in there to eat some food. And she said to her husband, “Look now, I know that this is a holy man of God, who passes by us regularly. Please, let us make a small upper room on the wall; and let us put a bed for him there, and a table and a chair and a lampstand; so it will be, whenever he comes to us, he can turn in there.” And it happened one day that he came there, and he turned in to the upper room and lay down there. Then he said to Gehazi his servant, “Call this Shunammite woman.” When he had called her, she stood before him. And he said to him, “Say now to her, ‘Look, you have been concerned for us with all this care. What can I do for you? Do you want me to speak on your behalf to the king or to the commander of the army?’ ” She answered, “I dwell among my own people.” So he said, “What then is to be done for her?” And Gehazi answered, “Actually, she has no son, and her husband is old.” So he said, “Call her.” When he had called her, she stood in the doorway. Then he said, “About this time next year you shall embrace a son.” And she said, “No, my lord. Man of God, do not lie to your maidservant!” But the woman conceived, and bore a son when the appointed time had come, of which Elisha had told her.” (II Kings 4:8-17 NKJV) Sandcastles Don't Last Forever

This is the eBook version. If you prefer to get the Paperback version (physical copy), you can get it on Amazon here for US$15. About the Book: One day when I was singing praises to God, an image floated up in my spirit: a big and beautiful sandcastle being washed away by the waves from the sea. God was teaching me the futility of holding tightly onto worldly possessions because like the sandcastle, they won't last, and one day will cease to exist. He taught me from His word to focus on Him and by doing so, I would reap great eternal rewards before Jesus' throne at the start of the Millennium. These rewards will last forever and can't be destroyed or stolen. It is my prayer that the revelations in this book will help you to live with a focus on the things above where God is, fulfill your God-given calling in life, be happier and to accumulate more eternal rewards to your account. In this Book, you will learn about: - Heavenly investment advice and the futility of worldly pursuits from a trillionaire in the Bible - Why God has to reward us in order to be righteous - When and how God will destroy the current earth and sky to make way for new ones - The types of fireproof works that earn eternal rewards at the end of time - The abundant rewards of doing good works while abiding by the non-disclosure agreement between God and you - The difference between the temporary places of torment: Sheol and Abaddon - Who is the Antichrist and his name revealed in the Bible - What is the Mark of the Beast and why it disqualifies its recipients from receiving salvation - The different judgments at the throne of Jesus Christ and what it means for you as a believer - How to fulfill your calling and maximize your gifts to receive the best eternal rewards Testimonials about the contents of this book: "Sandcastles Don't Last Forever is very well written, its message loud and clear. Milton Goh gives common-sense insight on often confusing Scripture, which is much appreciated in these troubled times. My understanding of the Bible has definitely improved." - Mike Garrett, first Editor/ Publisher for Stephen King and Author of Christian Novel "Innocence Denied", from USA "This book is absolutely breathtaking. We don't work to be saved but were created to do good works. I am so energized and excited to know God values our works and we will be rewarded. This is all Glory to Jesus... I cant wait to throw my crowns at his feet and thank him for saving my life!" - Evangelist Michael Clark from USA "Dear Milton Goh, I truly thank our Abba, Father for the revelations in this book. It is so amazing how I begin to discover important verses in the Bible that I have never read. That instead of following riches, with sleepless nights, and actually shortening our lives, we are just to 'Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ', and 'Love one another'. How beautiful to find out that actually in the Bible there is both 'Earthly or Worldly Investment Wisdom' and 'Eternal Investment Wisdom' according to the revelations here from Ecclesiastes 5:14-17 WEB)!; “It seems like Solomon was not only wise at earning material riches but also at earning eternal riches.” All the glory to our Lord Jesus Christ! God bless you Milton Goh for such a wonderful book!" - Nitta Nierra from Belgium “Thank you Milton. I have just finished reading “Sandcastles Don’t Last Forever”. It’s such a good book that's filled with God's word. I love it very much. Might read again if I have the time. Thanks so much!” - Mally Chai from Singapore "I'm reading this book and loving it! The revelations of the Gospel truth shared and it's life applications are absolutely amazing! I give glory to the Lord Jesus for my dear brother Milton for this exceptional resource. I'm gonna keep feeding on its contents and believe God for supernatural breakthroughs as my mind is renewed in Christ!" - Terence from Tombel, Cameroon “Excellent book!! I enjoyed reading it so much and definitely recommend it! Milton is so gifted and all his teachings have blessed me tremendously! I thank God for people like him. Don't look to people for your reward. It will lead to disappointment. Look to God for your reward. God doesn't discipline with accidents, sickness or disease, but He does allow for disappointments. He is willing to risk being misunderstood by you to bring about something good for you and to love you. God knows exactly when is the best time to reward you. In the Book of Esther, one sleepless night for the king was all it took to turn things around for Mordecai and the Jews. Wives, if you are worried about your husband being in an adulterous relationship, God can give your husband a sleepless night and all he can think about is how beautiful you are. You can pray for your husband to be surrounded with a hedge of thorns to fend off other women. Exodus 1:16-21 - Nothing good that you have done for the Lord is forgotten by Him. “and he said, “When you do the duties of a midwife for the Hebrew women, and see them on the birthstools, if it is a son, then you shall kill him; but if it is a daughter, then she shall live.” But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the male children alive. So the king of Egypt called for the midwives and said to them, “Why have you done this thing, and saved the male children alive?” And the midwives said to Pharaoh, “Because the Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women; for they are lively and give birth before the midwives come to them.” Therefore God dealt well with the midwives, and the people multiplied and grew very mighty. And so it was, because the midwives feared God, that He provided households for them.” (Exodus 1:16-21 NKJV) I Samuel 2:18-21 - Hannah was barren for a long time, but the Lord heard her prayer and gave her a son. Grace may be slow, but the blessing is sure. For giving Samuel to the Lord, God blessed Hannah with descendants. “But Samuel ministered before the LORD, even as a child, wearing a linen ephod. Moreover his mother used to make him a little robe, and bring it to him year by year when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice. And Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, and say, “The LORD give you descendants from this woman for the loan that was given to the LORD.” Then they would go to their own home. And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile the child Samuel grew before the LORD.” (I Samuel 2:18-21 NKJV) John 21:3-6 - Jesus gave the fish to the disciples. “Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We are going with you also.” They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing. But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?” They answered Him, “No.” And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some. ” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.” (John 21:3-6 NKJV) John 21:9-10 - The resurrected Jesus made breakfast for His disciples! Jesus likes to give you the credit - He asked for the disciples to bring the fish that they caught, when it was Him who gave it to them in the first place. Jesus often said "Your faith has made you well." When we receive divine healing, it is not by our own faith, but Jesus is the one who gives that faith to receive it to us. Our God is so good that He rewards us when we give to Him what He gave to us in the first place! “Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread. Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have just caught.”” (John 21:9-10 NKJV) You can get Milton Goh's book "Sandcastles Don't Last Forever" on Amazon.
