10 August 2014 - Inheriting God's Promises - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon NotesGod's way is to use the weak to confound the mighty. To blow the ram's horn (which is obtained from the death of the ram) is proclaiming the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and proclaiming the gospel. The barley bread (the bread that poor people of that time ate) that gave Gideon encouragement and boldness represents the Lord Jesus Christ. He came as a humble carpenter to save us. The barley bread smashes the tents of strife. Love your neighbor. Do what we can with what we have. Deuteronomy 32:8-9 - After the Great Flood, God divided the lands of the earth and placed everyone where He purposefully chose. "When the Most High divided their inheritance to the nations, When He separated the sons of Adam, He set the boundaries of the peoples According to the number of the children of Israel. For the LORD’s portion is His people; Jacob is the place of His inheritance. (Deuteronomy 32:8, 9 NKJV)" In the Old Testament, the devil is always trying to kill a godly child, to prevent the promised seed from coming. He is trying to stop Bible prophecy from coming to pass. Matthew 24 is written to the Jews and speaking to Israel regarding the end times, not to the Gentile believers. John 14 is written to us Gentile believers, suggesting a "private enrapturing of Gentile believers", before the Tribulation happens.
Satan has always tried to prevent this prophecy from coming to pass by trying to prevent the birth of the promised Messiah - "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel." (Genesis 3:15, NKJV) He has failed and is forever a defeated foe!
Obadiah 1:17 - It is one thing to have an inheritance and it is another thing to inherit it. "But on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, And there shall be holiness; The house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. (Obadiah 1:17 NKJV)" Heir - the receiver of a promised inheritance by right of sonship. We are a full-fledged son of God the moment we receive Jesus as Lord of our lives. Romans 4:13-14 - We are promised to be the "heir of the world" (includes promises of health, provision, etc), not by the Law, but by righteousness of faith (which is a gift from God). "For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect, (Romans 4:13, 14 NKJV)" Galatians 4:21- 5:1 - You cannot live a holy life by the Law. The Law gives birth to bondage. The devil does not want us to inherit God's promises effortlessly. "Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1 NKJV)" Believers are constrained from wrongdoing through the love of Christ and not by fear (short-term). Psalm 44:3 - We have victory because of God's favor, not because of our strength or ability. "For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, Nor did their own arm save them; But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, Because You favored them. (Psalms 44:3 NKJV)" Exodus 23:25-30 - Everything needs God's blessing. We all inherit, but we don't inherit with the same measure. We inherit little by little experientially as we increase (parah - fruitful) more and more, so that we can handle the huge blessings coming our way. "So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days. “I will send My fear before you, I will cause confusion among all the people to whom you come, and will make all your enemies turn their backs to you. And I will send hornets before you, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite from before you. I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you. Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased, and you inherit the land. (Exodus 23:25-30 NKJV)" Genesis 1:28 - Steps to have dominion - 1) Be fruitful 2) multiply 3) fill the earth 4) subdue 5) have dominion "Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (Genesis 1:28 NKJV)" Acts 20:29-32 - The word of God's grace builds believers up and gives us our inheritance. "For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves. Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears. “So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified. (Acts 20:29-32 NKJV)" Our emotions are a red flag and a sign of what we believe. The solution is to fill our minds and hearts with words of grace. Genesis 15:8-9 - We inherit God's promises for our lives through the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ. Proclaim Jesus's death. Jesus's ministry while He was on earth before His death and resurrection lasted 3 years. "And he said, “Lord GOD, how shall I know that I will inherit it?” So He said to him, “Bring Me a three-year-old heifer, a three-year-old female goat, a three-year-old ram, a turtledove, and a young pigeon.” (Genesis 15:8, 9 NKJV)" 1 Corinthians 11:26 - We are blessed when we proclaim the Lord's death. "For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes. (I Corinthians 11:26 NKJV)" 1 Samuel 7:10 - When we proclaim the Lord's death, we will confuse our enemies. "Now as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel. But the LORD thundered with a loud thunder upon the Philistines that day, and so confused them that they were overcome before Israel. (I Samuel 7:10 NKJV)" 1 Peter 1:4 - Our inheritance is incorruptible (not subject to death), undefiled (cannot be defiled by sin), does not fade away (not subject to time), is enjoyed on earth and safeguarded in heaven. "to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, (I Peter 1:4 NKJV)"
Mankind was originally created by God to have dominion over earth and all its creatures, but we lost these rights when Adam and Eve committed the first sin, obeying Satan. Thankfully, Jesus has reclaimed the earth and stripped Satan of the power of death, by His death and resurrection. Now Jesus rules all and we share in this inheritance with Him!

Just wanted to say Milton, that praise the Lord that you actually take the time out to provide some of Pastor Prince's sermon highlights. I stumbled upon your website today and I've been purchasing Pastor Prince's sermons since about 2011 here in America and its awesome how you also list the scripture verses he quotes in his sermons. And the images you've also posted (.i.e the sower of the paranle and high priest's garments) are fantastic.
