12 March 2017 - Jesus Is Still Serving Us Today - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes OnlineGod can even heal people who are not believers. When Jesus was on earth, He healed people who were not born-again. He had not yet died at the cross. You don't have to qualify for healing. Healing has nothing to do with who you are. It's all about who God is. It's nothing to do with the receiver. It's all about the Giver. You feel proud when you've done right and you feel depressed when you've done wrong - Both spectrums are wrong because under grace, it's not about yourself and what you've done or not done. We all know that we fall short, even when we're believers. God knew all about you before you were even born in this world. With God there is no past, present and future. He is not bound by time. Only humans are constrained to time. God took ALL our sins and placed them on Jesus at the cross. When the Bible says your sins are forgiven, your sins ARE forgiven. See things from God's viewpoint, not your own. It's much more blessed to see things from God's viewpoint. God doesn't see us as good-for-nothing. His love for us is amazing. God the Shepherd would leave the 99 sheep to find the 1 lost sheep. You're not just a face in the crowd. He knows the number of all the hairs on your head. There is nothing too small about you that God doesn't care about. He cares about both the big and small things. God is not out to judge, punish or get you. He is out to save us! Long before we cared about Him, God cared about us. Many people sit in the seat of judgement and are judging God. When man sinned, God placed Himself in the position where He would suffer the most. God made a perfect world. We made it hell. If God wants the world to be perfect and for there to be no sin, He can just create robots. But He doesn't want that. He create man with free moral choice. If God stopped man from exercising free choice, that would not be true free choice. God said freely eat from all trees except for that one tree. But man disobeyed and ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Through man's sin, death and decay were brought into the world. When Jesus comes back to reign on earth, there is will nothing that will hurt or destroy. There will not be any hospitals, mortuaries, courts etc. because there is no need for them.
When you pray "On earth as it is in heaven", you're praying for God's kingdom to invade earth, to become like it is in heaven.
While waiting for God's kingdom to come on earth, you can let Jesus be King and Lord in your life. Repentance towards God means that you used to think that God is against you, but now you know that God is for you! It means to think correctly about God. When you think correctly about God, you will think correctly about yourself. Mark 10:45-46 - Jesus did not come to be served. He came to serve us! God does not need us to be His servants. It's not a good deal for us to be His servants. God already has angels that never get tired and their voices never get raspy when they sing for a long time. “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging.” (Mark 10:45-46 NKJV) You don't need to do something for you to be loved by God. It is not right teaching to say that if you don't accept Jesus, you will be lost. It's not that Jesus came and ruined everything. The right teaching: If you don't accept Jesus, you will remain lost. Such a person is already lost! God calls you by name, knows you by name and loves you particularly. How can He do that? Because He is God. Wherever Jesus went on earth, He never made healthy people sick. He never made people poor. All who came to Jesus were healed! All who came to Jesus with lack were given provision - example: the loaves and fishes were multiplied to feed the multitudes. Mark 10:47-52 - Sometimes blind people see more than those who have sight. Jesus is looking for the crevasses where He can pour out His goodness into. The very first sentence of Genesis 1 says "The Son created the heavens and the earth". Bartimaeus means "the son of Timaeus". Joshua pronounced a curse upon whoever would rebuild Jericho. Timaeus was probably the man who rebuilt Jericho. Bartimaeus was a blind beggar - he was both diseased and poor. There is no such thing as a prosperity gospel. But the gospel does produce prosperity, healing, health and wholeness. Who is this who stood still? It was He who created the heavens and the earth. The God who flung the stars and the sun in space. The one who caused Him to stand still was a just blind beggar - not a rich man, a king or priest. Bartimaeus used his regained sight to follow Jesus on the road. "And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.” And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus. So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road." (Mark 10:47-52, NKJV) The Old Testament are picture books of God's Son. Exodus 21:1-6 - The doorpost is a place where it's so close to freedom - inside is service, outside is liberty. This judgement is talking about Jesus. God never became a Man until Jesus came as a Man. God saw that we were lost and without any power to save ourselves. He came down to earth without asking for our permission. He constrained Himself to time, as a baby, and allowed Himself to be carried in the virgin's arms. God's desire was for Jesus to die at the cross for all our sins, but He was never compelled or forced to die at the cross against His choice. At any time if He prayed for deliverance, God would send twelve legions of angels to save Him and wipe out His enemies. ““Now these are the judgments which you shall set before them: If you buy a Hebrew servant, he shall serve six years; and in the seventh he shall go out free and pay nothing. If he comes in by himself, he shall go out by himself; if he comes in married, then his wife shall go out with him. If his master has given him a wife, and she has borne him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself. But if the servant plainly says, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free,’ then his master shall bring him to the judges. He shall also bring him to the door, or to the doorpost, and his master shall pierce his ear with an awl; and he shall serve him forever.” (Exodus 21:1-6 NKJV) Luke 9:51 - It's like the Father saying, if man will not receive Jesus, heaven will receive Him. Pastor Prince believes that this is the point in time where Jesus could choose to go back to the Father. Jesus, like the Hebrew servant chose to remain. He came so close to the doorpost. He could go back to heaven, but He didn't. He didn't have to be spat on, beaten, have His beard pulled, become sin, but He chose to. Jesus is a Man forever. “Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem,” (Luke 9:51 NKJV) John 13:1-5 - Only a man knowing that all things are in his hands can serve. It's important for leaders to be secure people. Insecure leaders are the ones who cause the most problems. Secure people have nothing to prove and nothing to hide. Jesus act of washing the disciple's feet is to tell us that He came down to the lowest point of all our sins, with one hand on heaven, to cleanse us of all our sins. Jesus says that after being saved we only need to wash our feet. This is talking about our daily walk - We get defiled with the dust of sin. The dust is caused by the devil. By listening to the word of God, our feet are washed. “Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end. And supper being ended, the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Him, Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself. After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded.” (John 13:1-5 NKJV) Revelation 1:13 - Jesus is still serving us in heaven today. “and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band.” (Revelation 1:13 NKJV) Even the faith to receive healing comes from God. Even the willingness to be willing comes from Him. If we correctly see ourselves as empty people, we'll be rushing to talk to God all the time. You can only give what you have received from Jesus. Peter said that he didn't have silver or gold, but what he had he gave the crippled man. Jesus' single inditement to His disciples was "O you of little faith" - He wanted to give so much but why are they taking so little? Martha was busy serving Jesus, but Mary sat at Jesus' feet, making Jesus feel like God. Martha saw herself as being so full as compared to Jesus, whereas Mary saw behind Jesus' tired exterior the inexhaustible supply that was in Him. I Chronicles 17:1-4 - Many people say "Let me serve you Lord". “Now it came to pass, when David was dwelling in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, “See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD is under tent curtains.” Then Nathan said to David, “Do all that is in your heart, for God is with you.” But it happened that night that the word of God came to Nathan, saying, “Go and tell My servant David, ‘Thus says the LORD: “You shall not build Me a house to dwell in.” (I Chronicles 17:1-4 NKJV) I Chronicles 17:10 - But God says "Let Me serve you first." “since the time that I commanded judges to be over My people Israel. Also I will subdue all your enemies. Furthermore I tell you that the LORD will build you a house.” (I Chronicles 17:10 NKJV) I Chronicles 17:16-17 - David asked himself "Who am I?". Receiving from the Lord makes you a humble servant. “Then King David went in and sat before the LORD; and he said: “Who am I, O LORD God? And what is my house, that You have brought me this far? And yet this was a small thing in Your sight, O God; and You have also spoken of Your servant’s house for a great while to come, and have regarded me according to the rank of a man of high degree, O LORD God.” (I Chronicles 17:16-17 NKJV) I Chronicles 29:3-5 - Receiving the Lord makes you a generous giver. “Moreover, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house, my own special treasure of gold and silver: three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses; the gold for things of gold and the silver for things of silver, and for all kinds of work to be done by the hands of craftsmen. Who then is willing to consecrate himself this day to the LORD?”” (I Chronicles 29:3-5 NKJV) I Chronicles 29:14 - Whenever you tithe to the Lord, remember that whatever you are giving to the Lord is from Him. “But who am I, and who are my people, That we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, And of Your own we have given You.” (I Chronicles 29:14 NKJV) Luke 12:37 - Even when Jesus the King of Kings returns, He will still be serving us. “Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them.” (Luke 12:37 NKJV) Psalm 116:12-13 - The way you say thank you to God for all His benefits is to take some more. Prayer is not a time for you to give. It's a time for you to take so that you can be an effective servant. “What shall I render to the LORD For all His benefits toward me? I will take up the cup of salvation, And call upon the name of the LORD.” (Psalms 116:12-13 NKJV) I hope that you have been blessed by reading this post on "12 March 2017 - Jesus Is Still Serving Us Today - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online".
